CARL: Hello, Dylan!

ARUGULA/NICO: Hi, Dylan!

DYLAN: Hi, Carl! Hi, Nico! Hi, Arugula!

DYLAN: I was just exploring the neighborhood for the best

DYLAN: hill to scooter down!

CARL/ARUGULA/NICO: That way! / Over there!

DYLAN: Cool, thanks!

ARUGULA: Oh, I like your scooter, Dylan! Those beads on

ARUGULA: the spokes are so cool!

DYLAN: My grandpa just sent them for my birthday. He got

DYLAN: me these, and some socks, and a brand new board

DYLAN: game!

CARL: Oh! We were just going to my house for a board game

CARL: party. Do you want to come?

DYLAN: Board game party? Me? Yes! Can I bring my

DYLAN: new game? It's called Roll Roll Armadillo!

NICO/ARUGULA: Ooh!

ARUGULA: That sounds fun!

CARL: Oh. I've got a pretty big board game collection, and

CARL: I was planning to play Flapjack Match...

CARL: But I guess we can play your game first.

CARL: I've never played it before.

ARUGULA: It sounds like fun!

DYLAN: Great! I'll go home to get it and bring it right

DYLAN: over. But first - I gotta try that hill!

[♪]

DYLAN: Woo! Yeah!

[♪]

CARL: A little more...a little more...perfect!

[knock on door]

NICO: C'mon in!

NICO: Welcome to Board-Game-apalooza!

DYLAN: Thanks for inviting me!

DYLAN: I'm really, really excited to play this.

[♪]

NICO: [deep breath] It still has that new board game smell!

[♪]

CARL: This game is new to me. Are the rules easy to

CARL: understand?

DYLAN: Totally!

DYLAN: Okay, what color does everyone want?

CARL: I'd like orange, please. I'm always the orange piece

CARL: whenever I play a game.

NICO: Yellow me, please, and thank you!

ARUGULA: Hmm...may I please have the blue piece?

DYLAN: Of course!

DYLAN: And that leaves green for me!

DYLAN: Green is my favorite color.

DYLAN: Now let's start Roll Roll Armadi-!

[♪]

DYLAN:[slow motion sound effect] Oh nooooo!

[♪]

DYLAN: Phew!

[♪]

ALL: [gasp]

[♪]

DYLAN: I can't believe I did that! This is a brand new

DYLAN: board game!

DYLAN: And now there are only three pieces!

DYLAN: [angry grunt]

NICO: Bummer.

ARUGULA: Aww. It's okay, Dylan.

CARL: We can fix it! Somehow...

DYLAN: You think so?

ARUGULA: Yeah! Maybe we can use something else for a game

ARUGULA: piece.

DYLAN: [grumpy groan]

NICO: Or we can just play a different game!

CARL: Like Flapjack Match!

DYLAN: But - but I wanted to play this one!

CARL: Are you mad?

DYLAN: Yeah, I'm mad!

NICO: Happens to the best of us.

DYLAN: [grumpy groan, stamps foot]

NICO: Whoa, you really are upset.

CARL: Hey! Do you want to try something I do when I get

CARL: upset? I call it "Soup Breathing."

DYLAN: No!

DYLAN: Wait. "Soup Breathing?" What's that?

CARL: Here's how we do it. We take a deep breath in through

CARL: our noses, like we're smelling soup.

[♪]

CARL: Then you breathe out through your mouth, like

CARL: you're blowing your soup spoon to cool it.

CARL: [exhale]

CARL: I like to imagine that it's tomato soup.

DYLAN: Or soup with peas and noodles.

CARL/DYLAN: [deep breaths]

CARL: Yeah! Just picture it in your mind...star-shaped

CARL: noodles, and bright green peas...

DYLAN: Green peas?!

DYLAN: [anxious moan] My game piece was green, too! And now

DYLAN: it's gone forever!

DYLAN: Soup Breathing didn't work! I'm still mad!

CARL: My orange piece!

NICO: Hey, Dylan? I get it. I get mad a bunch. Wanna try

DYLAN: Okay...

NICO: When I get mad, and my whole body feels "grr!", it

CARL: Play Flapjack Match?

[♪]

CARL: Or...maybe we can still get the pieces out of the

CARL: vent.

DYLAN: You think so?

ARUGULA: Yeah!

NICO: We just need a plan.

DYLAN: I can think a little better now...Let's do this!

NICO: Step one: Assemble the team. Done.

NICO: Step two: We need to get through the slots in the vent.

CARL: The slots are pretty narrow, so the tongs from my

CARL: salad utensil collection won't work.

[♪]

ARUGULA: What if we use something sticky to pick them

ARUGULA: up?

DYLAN: Like...clay?

[♪]

NICO: Perfect! Step three: we gotta smoosh the clay onto the

NICO: end of some kind of pokey stick...

CARL: Oh! I know! We can use a paintbrush! I have a long one

CARL: in my painting kit!

NICO: Great idea, Carl!

NICO: Now, step four: Poke the pieces with the clay and

NICO: lift them out of the vent! Voilà!

DYLAN: "Voilà?"

NICO: It means "Ta-da!"

ARUGULA: Let's get started!

CARL: I'll get some clay from Mama.

CARL: There is someone who holds the record for having

CARL: No thanks, Mama.

CARL: That's right. It WAS my first try.

CARL'S DAD: And you still got your determination and

CARL'S DAD: persistence, right?

CARL: Yes. That's right.

CARL'S DAD: So you're gonna try again, right?

CARL: Right!

CARL'S MAMA: Amazing!

CARL: And not just that! I have learned a few things from

CARL: my last attempt.

[♪ Collecting Thoughts ]

CARL: Perhaps, the cards would be steadier, if I put down a

CARL: flat surface first, like cardboard.

CARL'S MAMA: Ah! We have lots of that.

CARL: And since the cards are sensitive to air-flow, I

CARL: should make sure the windows are closed, the fans

CARL: are off, and everyone should tip-toe.

[♪]

CARL: That will make for better building.

[♪]

CARL'S MAMA: Maybe I could set the camera up on a tripod, so

CARL'S MAMA: it records your whole build?

CARL: Yes!

CARL'S DAD: And maybe you could have a snack and refuel

CARL'S DAD: before you start building again?

CARL: Okay. It's a plan.

CARL: I am going to do this. I'm gonna build the biggest

CARL: No.

CARL'S MAMA: You wanna try bouncing a little?

[♪]

CARL: I want to be in that book. But my cards keep

CARL: falling down. I will never be in the FuzzyWorld

CARL: Book of Records. Maybe I will set the record for being

CARL: the biggest failure.

CARL'S MAMA: Just because we fail at something, doesn't

CARL'S MAMA: mean WE are a failure. Sometimes failing

CARL'S MAMA: is...it's a part of learning. Do you remember

CARL: [still sad] And now you can do headstands.

CARL'S MAMA: That's right!

CARL'S MAMA: Even though I had to fail a lot to get there -

CARL'S MAMA: and I mean a lot-

CARL'S MAMA: I just had to persist, until I was strong

CARL'S MAMA: enough to reach my goal.

CARL'S DAD: Remember how many times we tried to bake bread

CARL'S DAD: before we got it right?

CARL: Yes. I will always remember the bread.

CARL'S DAD: At first we couldn't get the temperature

CARL'S DAD: right, and kept accidentally burning them...

CARL'S DAD: Then one time we used too much yeast and forgot

CARL'S DAD: to turn on the oven, and it expanded all over

CARL'S DAD: the place!

CARL'S DAD: And sometimes the braid didn't stay braided.

CARL'S DAD: But eventually, we got it just right.

CARL'S MAMA: And now, your bread is the best!

CARL: It is good now, Dad.

SHELDON: Oh, that reminds me of the time I kept trying to

SHELDON: I tried...and tried...

SHELDON: I practised...And practised...

SHELDON: [slowly improving]

SHELDON: And then one day...[perfect whistle]

SHELDON: I finally got it!

SHELDON: And now, I can whistle.

SHELDON: [strong whistle]

CARL: But I really want to be in the FuzzyWorld Book of

CARL: Records. I really want to be amazing.

CARL'S MAMA: Well you already are AMAZING! But I know this

CARL'S MAMA: goal is important to you.

CARL'S DAD: And I am AMAZED by your determination and

CARL'S DAD: persistence.

SHELDON: Don't give up, buddy. It's just a matter of time

SHELDON: until you're in this book.

CARL: You're right, Sheldon. Maybe I won't be in the

CARL: next Book of Records, but maybe I'll be in the one

CARL: after that, or the one after that!

[♪]

CARL: But I think the next time I do a card-build,

CARL: I should build on a concrete floor, with LOTS of

CARL: space.

[♪]

CARL: Like in a garage!

CARL: And maybe I should sketch the whole thing out

CARL: first, so I know exactly what it's going to look like

CARL: before I start.

[♪]

CARL: And maybe I could watch some tutorials with some

CARL: tricks and tips for card-builders.

[♪]

CARL: And ONE DAY, I will build the biggest Pizza

CARL: Pyramid out of playing cards!

CARL: And I will officially be in the FuzzyWorld Book of

CARL: Records!
