I'm Eli Roth.
I've spent my life
telling horror stories.
But imagine if those
stories were real,
and suddenly,
you found yourself stalked
and tormented by an evil spirit,
and no one believed you.
I wasn't going insane.
[man] It makes
you feel helpless.
It was terrifying.
These are the actual
tales of terror,
as told by you, the victim,
who came face to face
with their demons
and survived.

My mother told me
that she also had experiences
of the paranormal
growing up in that house.
There was a child that
would come to her at night,
it was charred,
and it would stare at her
from the bottom of the bed.
[thunder clapping]
[Brianna] And so, when she
went to go see a bruja,
basically like a witch doctor
she told them that yes, indeed,
that they had a curse put on their
bloodline and their family
[thunder clapping]
[Brianna]and the only
way to get rid of that
was to get a piece
of all of their hair
a vile with all
of their blood in it
put it into a purse
like a little bag
put it into the earth.
She also advised my aunt
to carve into their skin
a cross on their wrist
to cleanse them of the curse
that had been put
on their family.
Argh!
We did have family members
who had passed in that house.
Was someone trying to send
a message from the other side
or even maybe just
trying to harm us?
I don't know if I'll ever know.
Why didn't you
tell me this before?
I wanted to protect you.
And I was hoping
that maybe it
would pass over you.
None of us have ever been
able to make sense of this.
But there must be
something we can do?
We can't just let this
control our family.
Maybe there is.
[Brianna] Tia Luz.
So, you know?
Argh!
Did it hurt?
Yes.
I thought it was gone.
I'm so sorry, mija.
My aunt decided to do

It's where you take an egg
and you drag it across
and depending
on how the egg looks
when you break it
into a cup of water
is how you can tell if someone
had wished evil on you.
[whispering in Spanish]
Do not look at
the egg as we crack it.
Only look into the water

[Brianna] The egg cleanse
is what caused the entity
to get more upset.
We heard

and I remember
looking at my mom,
and seeing her scared
and not trying to hide it.
I definitely could feel that
she was on edge a lot more.
She
Especially 'cause
this happened in
not even in night time,
this happened in broad daylight.
The fact that we both saw it
really affirmed that this
was real and happening
and that it was
trying to terrify us.
Constantly trying
to hurt us in some way
whether that was physically or
mentally or even spiritually.
To have my mom confirm to me
that she also was
going through this
and that she also was feeling
the same things I was feeling,
seeing the same
things I was feeling
was very comforting.
Especially in a time where
I feel like I most needed it.

and to feel validated
for my experiences
in that house.
Everything seemed to calm down.
I wasn't hearing things anymore

the longer that

the more that

that it might be

that it was with me.

the things that would
happen late at night
were now happening in the
light of day more frequently,
making itself known even more.

That was the icing
on the cake for us.
We both knew
that if we don't leave
that it might get a lot worse.
When we were finally
moving out of the house,
I definitely had
a little bit of a
I would say mixed
feelings about it,
bittersweetness about it
knowing that
this was my childhood home,
this was my first house.
I was sad about leaving
but I was so ready
to begin a new chapter,
and to let that part of my life
be closed forever.
I have my great-aunt
do spiritual cleansings,
energy cleanses
on me when needed.
I make little charm bags
to protect me
while I'm sleeping.
I don't watch a lot
of horror movies.
I feel like I lived it,
and I don't really want
to relive it again.
I wanted to let others know
who may be feeling isolated,
who may be feeling
like they're alone
and like they're going crazy
you're not alone,
that these things do happen
and that others have gone through
the same that you have gone through.
Don't let these entities
dictate your life
'cause that's exactly
what they want.
