place I thought it was just a big light

in the sky that's right astronauts just

like me have landed on it in rockets and

walked on it walked on it how could

anybody fit on it it's softly small

after all no it's very big it just looks

small because it's far away over a

quarter of a million miles

well that's a long way but I bet I could

fly there can I admire your enthusiasm

little lady but the space between the

Earth and the moon is very very cold and

there's no air to breathe that's why

you'd need a rocket rocket I've heard

that the moon is made out of cheese

cheese yes I wonder what kind I hope

it's cheddar I'm afraid it isn't made

out of cheese partner it's made of rocks

and dust just like the Earth only

smaller like Earth could people live on

it I'm glad you asked that son

to get to the moon you'd have to fly in

a rocket the Rockets engines have to be

very powerful

because it takes a lot of power to leave

the Earth and go out into space

the Moon is the closest thing to Earth

but it's still hundreds of thousands of

miles away

Jeepers if we went on a trip like that

we'd have to pack a lot of clothes

actually seven for a trip to the moon

you need a special spacesuit the suit

provides air so you can breathe since

there is no air on the moon

so cool when can I go there you'd have

to build a rocket son that's what I'm

gonna do bang Zoom to the Moon I like

your spirit son we need young men like

you in the space program men with vision

men with dreams men with

sloppy tongues okay the sooner we get to

bed the sooner I can get up and start

building that rocket
