NARRATOR: Fearing that his fate was sealed,

Josh threw in the towel and started packing.

Well, what are you going to do?

I'm walking out.

NARRATOR: But Roddy consoled him.

I think you'd regret this for the rest of your life

if you walked out of here.

[whoosh]

NARRATOR: Lisa won the Power of Veto--

[applause]

Perfect score of , Lisa.

That's right.

I think I'm going to have fun at making some people squirm.

NARRATOR: --and strategized with Marcellas and Danielle

to evict Roddy and break up the last couple in the house.

NARRATOR: At the Veto meeting, a desperate Josh

lashed out at Chiara.

Someone who nominates her own boyfriend, someone who promises

me she would not put me up for nomination and does clearly

is not a person questioning somebody

else's trustworthiness.

NARRATOR: But despite Josh's pleas,

Lisa chose not to use the Power.

My heart doesn't hear your words.

Fair enough.

So I am not using the Power of Veto.

NARRATOR: Who will be the fifth person evicted

from the "Big Brother" house?

And tonight, the return of an evicted Houseguest--

will it be Lori, Tonya, Amy, or Eric?

Good evening and welcome to "Big Brother ."

It is day inside the "Big Brother" house behind me.

There are now eight Houseguests.

Last Thursday, Chiara, the marketing

representative from New York, won Head of Household.

The next day, in a stunning move,

she nominated for eviction two of her original allies--

her boyfriend Roddy, the writer from New Jersey,

and Josh, the waiter from Queens, New York.

Lisa won the Power of Veto but chose to leave

Chiara's nominations intact.

In the next hour, either Roddy or Josh will leave the house.

And later, in a major twist the Houseguests have been

anticipating all week, one of the four previously evicted

Houseguests--

Lori, Tonya, Amy, or Eric--

will walk back into the house and back into the game.

Meanwhile, tensions in the house have

been rising as Josh struggles to reconcile his desire

to stay in the game with his loyalty

to his close friend Roddy.

[music playing]

[whoosh]

Josh, the reason why I nominated you

was because I can't trust you.

I put Roddy up because I know he could be a vote for you.

Lisa, I implore you to go with your heart

and remove this man who has no business being here.

My heart doesn't hear your words.

You hate being in that cage, don't you?

The lizards don't have it easy in the house.

People don't realize how much personality they have.

I don't know if they're quite my Jiminy Cricket per se,

but they certainly have inspired me to fight a little

harder to stay in this house.

It's very nice to just-- to spend

quality time with the lizards.

You know, if I tell one lizard a story, and it's the truth,

they're not gonna go twist it and turn it to the other lizard

and use it against me.

I really wish I could feel like I could talk

to you about things right now.

But I just-- I'm afraid to.

This should be the easiest vote of the first five weeks.

How many chances do you think you're

going to get to vote him out?

It blows my mind that I'm going to go out -.

You may not.

It's been discussed.

Roddy is clearly the strongest player in this game.

What you need to do is lay low.

There are going to be so few opportunities

to have him on the block and get rid of him.

Have you discussed this with other people?

No, because every conversation I have with someone,

they run back and tell Roddy.

Not everybody.

Anyone who would vote me out over Roddy clearly

has no concept of how to play this game.

There was people in this house

that thought about the person that they'd go to the finals

with.

You know damn well I would always finish in second place.

[whoosh]

It does seem like a layup.

It seems like right now everyone said Joshie's gonna go,

but it's just scary.

I hope I don't go.

The big guy is a lot more chill than the little guy.

The big guy'll sit forever.

The little guy, he's right now thinking of an escape route.

Roddy is so clever.

He's-- he gotta go.

[laughs]

Gerry followed me in the bathroom

to sort of give me the heads up that Josh wanted to talk to me.

He just came up to me and told me

that expect to be worked by--

Josh.

Gerry's in to do what?

Change the votes.

Oh god.

And if you have a conversation with A,

it goes to B, C, D, and E, and F and comes right back to A.

Well, he wants me to vote against you.

Could you do that?

I might try, but I know who I am.

You told me that you weren't going to say anything

or campaign against me at all.

Would you agree to try?

Apparently I can't keep any deal.

There's a difference between campaigning

and telling people flat out-- - What are you gonna do?

Say this is first degree campaigning or third degree?

No, I've been campaigned against.

- You're doing it. - You did it.

You're doing it.

Josh, she was putting me up on the block.

She wanted to find out that everyone in the house

was gonna support her decision.

I'm sticking up for you, and you're gonna

go [muted] campaign against me?

It's easy to say after you've gotten all their votes

and before everything went down.

Then don't tell me you're gonna do something

if you're not planning on doing it.

At least--

Don't tell me you're not going to do

so if you've already done it.

You told me to my face that you weren't going to campaign,

and now you're saying, well, people come up to me.

All right. Let's find out.

Jason, have you gone up to Josh and asked about voting?

What people did it?

There's no one hiding.

Gerry, did you not tell me that people were

talking about voting Rod out?

I didn't come to you with that.

You asked me.

I said there'd been discussions, but that's all.

You tell me to my face.

You claim to be my friend.

Within an hour later, you're saying,

we gotta get a conspiracy to get him out of here.

I've never said that to anyone or any--

You just-- he just said that you went up to him and said,

let's make a plan.

I didn't know people were talking.

That was told to me.

Josh, you seem to think Chiara's collusion

and Roddy's collusion is the reason

that you're on the block.

You are the reason you are on the block.

There are people in this house who probably

never want to see you again.

Every single chance you ever got to go the low road,

you went.

That's your opinion, but now you're speaking for people.

I was definitely trying to steal home

and was caught stealing.

But, you know, there's only going to be one winner.

I want to turn my attention to Roddy.

You and Josh exchanged some pretty harsh words

a few days ago, and one of you will

definitely be leaving tonight.

Have the two of you made up since that fight?

I really don't think we had a-- we just argued it up a bit.

I think we'd made up the moment the last word was said.

It really wasn't a big problem.

We kind of understand each other.

JULIE: Josh, what are you thinking?

You're just smirking over there.

No, I'm just thinking--

I mean, to be honest with you, it was more of, you know,

Roddy just being a little New Jersey.

He had no shirt on, peacocking for the cameras and the ladies

back home--

[laughter]

Oh, and you didn't get Queens on him?

Josh?

Yeah?

You didn't get all Queens on him?

Ah-ha!

[laughs]

JULIE: OK, all right.

Maybe a little bit, but what's that got to do it, eh?

Now, late last week, you all found out

that one of the evictees will be returning.

How does everyone feel about that?

Marcellas, I want to hear from you.

Why me?

Why, when my best friend was wrenched

from my arms for national television,

why would I have an invested interest,

any feeling at all about who comes back in this house?

If Amy's not standing right next to you, Julie,

I have a problem.

[laughter]

JULIE: Ooh, sounds like a threat, Marcellas.

Woo!

Never against you.

Now we clearly know--

as if we didn't before-- who you want back in the house.

No, I want Eric.

Chiara--

Yes?

You've had a very difficult week.

I want to know how difficult it was

making those final decisions as Head of Household.

The decisions of who to nominate?

JULIE: Yeah.

It was pretty difficult. Needless to say,

two very important people are in those chairs.

If I was to do wrong by one of them, I'm truly sorry,

but it was a decision I had to make.

OK.

I want to focus back on the two stars of tonight's show.

- Not me again. - Josh--

Yeah.

Any final thoughts you want to express to the group?

Do I?

Yeah.

One, I want to thank-- first of all,

if I am the one to go tonight, I want to thank, well,

CBS, you, and the producers for giving

me this incredible opportunity.

I want to say you're all an incredibly group of beautiful,

unique, and special people.

And please, again, you know, don't judge

me on my actions in this house.

You all know the real reasons that I was who I was.

The two nominees, Roddy and Josh, are not permitted to vote

nor is Chiara as Head of Household.

All votes are cast in secret in the Diary Room.

Lisa and Marcellas are first.

Let's hear their thoughts as they prepare to vote.

I believe that Josh's behavior is a little bit

too extravagant for me.

It is a little bit too loud.

And it just gets to the point where you

don't want to babysit anymore.

I feel that Roddy was the master behind the plan

to evict me when Eric and I were up

together by using other people.

Roddy didn't go and do it himself,

and he had other people do his work for him.

It's dirty, and I don't like that.

Josh is one of the vilest people

I've ever met in my life.

Josh has been nothing but an irritant within the house.

Roddy was one of the first people

that I thought was a threat because he's so smart

and because he's very, very charming.

He's in a very vulnerable position this week

being up at all, being nominated.

His, like, jugular is exposed, and you

almost want to get the most popular

players out at all costs.

[music playing]

Welcome back to "Big Brother."

One week ago, Chiara and Roddy were quite the power couple.

But now it's Chiara who has all the power.

In a surprise move, she put her boyfriend Roddy

up for nomination as a ploy to get rid of Josh.

Chiara's girlfriends and Roddy's high school friends

are the first to say that this match

is not exactly made in heaven.

Kiki is dumb as a rock.

[laughing]

Roddy's very dry.

ALL: Drip, drip.

Trash, she's trash.

[whoosh]

Roddy, I hate to break it to you,

but since you've been gone so long,

we had to pick up another friend.

This is our new friend, New Roddy.

My brother Chris and I, we've known Roddy since the first day

of high school.

CHRIS: He's like the stray dog that Phil

brought home that never left.

[gargling]

CHRIS: Rod is the kind of guy that can get on a plane

without a ticket.

Rod's the kind of guy that the last week of high school

was failing out of every class and then got valedictorian.

The new Mr. "Big Brother " is Roddy!

[cheering and applause]

CHRIS: We want to know what those weights

weigh at "Big Brother"--

Yeah!

--because we've never seen him lift that much in his life.

Woo!

I think Rod has done a great job of playing the game.

And then all of a sudden, he met Chiara.

[gentle piano music]

And I knew that was trouble right from the get-go.

This girl is bad news.

[fast-paced music]

We're all Chiara's friends from college.

Chiara will break her back for anybody.

FRIEND : Chiara would give you the shirt off her back

if you needed it.

There's % of Chiara that's very serious, very intelligent,

a strong woman.

FRIEND : And she always has to be

center of attention, of course. FRIEND : Oh, yeah.

FRIEND : Oh, absolutely.

Chiara is very open about her body.

My friend Theresa's jealous right now.

All my friends are jealous.

Chiara pushes it to the limit.

We're on top of this.

RENEE: She loves to see people's reaction.

It's entertainment for her.

Roddy is definitely not Chiara's type, absolutely not.

[laughing]

Absolutely not.

Absolutely not.

I mean, he reads encyclopedias.

She talks dirty.

She's got a gutter mouth.

The third guy I was with was so small.

[laughs]

You can see where the attraction is on Roddy's part

because those are some of the things that he likes.

RENEE: I think that she cares for him a lot, but it's a game

and she's there to protect herself.

Chiara has a hidden agenda.

I will guarantee you you're not going anywhere.

I've already gotten words.

Do you think Lisa would have put Eric on the block?

I'm not Lisa.

PHIL: He always picks the wrong girl.

He's sitting there picking up a girl that's going to now

put him on the chopping block.

I think she's strategizing.

The eviction isn't the only thing

on the Houseguests' minds.

Tonight, one of the first four evictees

will walk back into the "Big Brother" house.

The Houseguests have been anticipating

this big event all week.

[suspenseful music]

I would definitely say that adding a third lizard

would unfairly cut off the space that the two lizards already

have in there to begin with, and it's space that they're

confined to for so long.

It would be like adding new Houseguests in here.

I'm pissed off as hell.

About bringing someone back in here?

We all obviously have the one person we want back.

If Eric comes back, it would be so great.

If Eric comes back, I'm the next one out.

I would like to see Lori return.

[whoosh]

I thought she was given the bum's rush

and deserves a second chance.

I really want Tonya back.

[whoosh]

You really want Eric back.

You really want Amy back.

If I saw Amy walk through that door, oh happy days.

[whoosh]

Jay, how do you feel about them,

the person coming back in?

I really think everybody's going to g*ng up on them,

and they're going to be gone pretty quick.

I guess they weren't kidding when they said that, you know,

be prepared for anything.

But before someone walks back in, someone must walk out.

The eviction is next.

Of the five votes cast this week, it takes only three

to evict.

Let's check out the Diary Room and see

what Jason, Gerry, and Danielle are thinking as they

prepare to cast their votes.

Josh is a great guy.

He brings a lot of life and energy to this house,

and just having him around keeps some spirits high.

It's kind of a tough decision to make right now.

You know, should he stay or should he go?

Roddy is a great competitor in this game.

I feel like, you know, it might be

in the best interest of this house

to vote to evict him right now.

The reasons why I would conceive of voting Roddy out

of the game is that he is a very, very smart man

and probably, you know, a master strategist.

It's been a dicey, dicey decision for me.

On the one hand, keeping Josh and his antics

allow me to fly below the radar.

On the other hand, his antics stir up so much,

it makes it uncomfortable in the house.

The only reason why I want Josh to stay

is that I can use Josh to serve my needs.

I believe he will be on my side, and he

will help me get to the end.

A lot of people love Roddy.

He's charismatic.

Roddy needs to leave because I don't think

I have a chance of winning the Gs

while he's still in the house.

I actually thought--

I forgot that you had the whoopee cushion,

and I thought he had.

And I thought he was trying to set you up.

So at one point today, I was like, mental note--

remember to tell Roddy there's a whoopee cushion by that.

You don't seem one bit surprised to be sitting here.

Why not?

No, I mean, because pretty much--

I mean, I went into the house, and I had a strategy.

JULIE: Which was what?

Which was pretty much to position myself

as someone who is not necessarily loved or enjoyed,

but someone that you want to keep around

or someone standing next to you at the end

for a chance to win $,.

In the beginning, I was fine to keep an alliance

with certain people.

But when it started to break down in week

two and people really couldn't keep their heads--

JULIE: Week two?

Like day two, there were all these new alliances.

This is true.

And people couldn't keep their heads about them.

I had to start branching out and finding ways

to keep myself in the house.

And it was, you know, scratch and pull, and it was a battle.

And once you're exposed--

Would you say from the moment Chiara nominated you

and Roddy, you knew you were a goner?

Absolutely.

I knew that the research had been done,

that she had secured the votes.

I mean, she's a very ruthless and diabolical player.

I respect her for that.

And I know she did her research and her homework.

OK, well, what would then-- it would obviously surprise you

if I were to tell you that as recently

as two days ago, you actually had

the votes to stay in the house.

I mean, that would surprise me.

And people might say one thing, but I

think that people, by the time they got to the Diary Room,

would have feared the repercussions of that.

Well, knowing what I did just tell you,

which we truly believe is accurate--

Sure.

--would you have done anything differently?

No, I really wouldn't have.

I mean, I don't--

I think people-- I've definitely learned that people do things

in this game one way, and then when push comes to shove,

they do handle it another way.

I played the game the way I thought fit to change my life

and change my lot, you know, for other people.

Now, despite the animosity that we saw play out

in the last week, what, if anything,

positive are you going to take away from your experience

in the house?

I mean, I really wasn't nearly--

I didn't have all the animosity that people really believe.

A lot of it really was for show.

There are some really great people in that house.

And I've learned a lot about, you know,

different people and different things

that I take a lot away from each and every person

in that house that'll help shape my life for the rest

of my time on this earth.

So it sounds like overall you think it was positive.

Oh, yeah, I loved my time in there.

I loved the opportunity that I had, that I was given.

And I have no problems whatsoever with it.

You did make friends in that house.

There's no doubt about it.

Absolutely.

And your friends taped special messages for you in the event

that you would be sitting here with me tonight.
