[music playing]
NARRATOR: Previously on "Big Brother," Chiara became
the fifth Head of Household--
I'm just excited that a girl has it.
NARRATOR: --and boldly nominated her former ally Josh
and her bedmate Roddy for eviction.
Josh, the reason why I nominated you
was because I can't trust you.
NARRATOR: Fearing that his fate was sealed,
Josh threw in the towel and started packing.
Well, what are you going to do?
I'm walking out.
NARRATOR: But Roddy consoled him.
I think you'd regret this for the rest of your life
if you walked out of here.
[whoosh]
NARRATOR: Lisa won the Power of Veto--
[applause]
Perfect score of , Lisa.
That's right.
I think I'm going to have fun at making some people squirm.
NARRATOR: --and strategized with Marcellas and Danielle
to evict Roddy and break up the last couple in the house.
NARRATOR: At the Veto meeting, a desperate Josh
lashed out at Chiara.
Someone who nominates her own boyfriend, someone who promises
me she would not put me up for nomination and does clearly
is not a person questioning somebody
else's trustworthiness.
NARRATOR: But despite Josh's pleas,
Lisa chose not to use the Power.
My heart doesn't hear your words.
Fair enough.
So I am not using the Power of Veto.
NARRATOR: Who will be the fifth person evicted
from the "Big Brother" house?
And tonight, the return of an evicted Houseguest--
will it be Lori, Tonya, Amy, or Eric?
Find out live on "Big Brother ."
[theme music]
Good evening and welcome to "Big Brother ."
It is day inside the "Big Brother" house behind me.
There are now eight Houseguests.
Last Thursday, Chiara, the marketing
representative from New York, won Head of Household.
The next day, in a stunning move,
she nominated for eviction two of her original allies--
her boyfriend Roddy, the writer from New Jersey,
and Josh, the waiter from Queens, New York.
Lisa won the Power of Veto but chose to leave
Chiara's nominations intact.
In the next hour, either Roddy or Josh will leave the house.
And later, in a major twist the Houseguests have been
anticipating all week, one of the four previously evicted
Houseguests--
Lori, Tonya, Amy, or Eric--
will walk back into the house and back into the game.
Meanwhile, tensions in the house have
been rising as Josh struggles to reconcile his desire
to stay in the game with his loyalty
to his close friend Roddy.
[music playing]
[whoosh]
Josh, the reason why I nominated you
was because I can't trust you.
I put Roddy up because I know he could be a vote for you.
Lisa, I implore you to go with your heart
and remove this man who has no business being here.
My heart doesn't hear your words.
You hate being in that cage, don't you?
The lizards don't have it easy in the house.
People don't realize how much personality they have.
I don't know if they're quite my Jiminy Cricket per se,
but they certainly have inspired me to fight a little
harder to stay in this house.
It's very nice to just-- to spend
quality time with the lizards.
You know, if I tell one lizard a story, and it's the truth,
they're not gonna go twist it and turn it to the other lizard
and use it against me.
I really wish I could feel like I could talk
to you about things right now.
But I just-- I'm afraid to.
This should be the easiest vote of the first five weeks.
How many chances do you think you're
going to get to vote him out?
It blows my mind that I'm going to go out -.
You may not.
It's been discussed.
Roddy is clearly the strongest player in this game.
What you need to do is lay low.
There are going to be so few opportunities
to have him on the block and get rid of him.
Have you discussed this with other people?
No, because every conversation I have with someone,
they run back and tell Roddy.
Not everybody.
Anyone who would vote me out over Roddy clearly
has no concept of how to play this game.
Try Jason--
[whoosh]
There was people in this house
that thought about the person that they'd go to the finals
with.
You know damn well I would always finish in second place.
[whoosh]
Try Dani. [whoosh]
[WHISPERING] You've already saved my a*s once.
I want you to do it again.
It's already two.
I don't want you to do this unless we can get a third.
I'll see what I can do.
[whoosh]
It does seem like a layup.
It seems like right now everyone said Joshie's gonna go,
but it's just scary.
I hope I don't go.
The big guy is a lot more chill than the little guy.
The big guy'll sit forever.
The little guy, he's right now thinking of an escape route.
Roddy is so clever.
He's-- he gotta go.
[laughs]
Gerry followed me in the bathroom
to sort of give me the heads up that Josh wanted to talk to me.
He just came up to me and told me
that expect to be worked by--
Josh.
Gerry's in to do what?
Change the votes.
Oh god.
And if you have a conversation with A,
it goes to B, C, D, and E, and F and comes right back to A.
Well, he wants me to vote against you.
Could you do that?
I might try, but I know who I am.
You told me that you weren't going to say anything
or campaign against me at all.
Would you agree to try?
Apparently I can't keep any deal.
There's a difference between campaigning
and telling people flat out-- - What are you gonna do?
Say this is first degree campaigning or third degree?
No, I've been campaigned against.
- You're doing it. - You did it.
You're doing it.
You've campaigned against me.
Josh, she was putting me up on the block.
She wanted to find out that everyone in the house
was gonna support her decision.
I'm sticking up for you, and you're gonna
go [muted] campaign against me?
It's easy to say after you've gotten all their votes
and before everything went down.
Then don't tell me you're gonna do something
if you're not planning on doing it.
At least--
Don't tell me you're not going to do
so if you've already done it.
You told me to my face that you weren't going to campaign,
and now you're saying, well, people come up to me.
All right. Let's find out.
Jason, have you gone up to Josh and asked about voting?
OK.
What people did it?
There's no one hiding.
Gerry, did you not tell me that people were
talking about voting Rod out?
I didn't come to you with that.
You asked me.
I said there'd been discussions, but that's all.
You tell me to my face.
You claim to be my friend.
Within an hour later, you're saying,
we gotta get a conspiracy to get him out of here.
I've never said that to anyone or any--
You just-- he just said that you went up to him and said,
let's make a plan.
People are talking.
You're [muted] making up--
I didn't know people were talking.
What people?
That was told to me.
Josh, you seem to think Chiara's collusion
and Roddy's collusion is the reason
that you're on the block.
You are the reason you are on the block.
There are people in this house who probably
never want to see you again.
OK.
Every single chance you ever got to go the low road,
you went.
That's your opinion, but now you're speaking for people.
[applause]
Jason?
Anyone?
That's the high road.
I was definitely trying to steal home
and was caught stealing.
But, you know, there's only going to be one winner.
That's it for you.
You just can't be trusted.
You know that?
It's approximately hours from my supposed execution.
I have not given up.
I am not dead.
I will fight on, and I will beat this thing.
That's all.
It's time to see how the Houseguests are doing.
Hi, everybody. - Hi!
Hey, Julie.
How is everyone feeling tonight?
- Great, thank you. - Good.
Great.
A little nervous, very excited.
A little nervous-- who said a little nervous?
- Jason. - Jason.
Jason, what are you nervous about?
You're not sitting in those two chairs.
No, but we're--
But that's cute.
We've got a big surprise tonight.
JULIE: Ah, that's right.
Yeah.
JULIE: That is right.
I want to turn my attention to Roddy.
That's me.
Rod.
You and Josh exchanged some pretty harsh words
a few days ago, and one of you will
definitely be leaving tonight.
Have the two of you made up since that fight?
I really don't think we had a-- we just argued it up a bit.
I think we'd made up the moment the last word was said.
It really wasn't a big problem.
We kind of understand each other.
JULIE: Josh, what are you thinking?
You're just smirking over there.
No, I'm just thinking--
I mean, to be honest with you, it was more of, you know,
Roddy just being a little New Jersey.
He had no shirt on, peacocking for the cameras and the ladies
back home--
[laughter]
Oh, and you didn't get Queens on him?
Josh?
Yeah?
You didn't get all Queens on him?
Ah-ha!
Woo!
[laughs]
Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey.
JULIE: OK, all right.
Maybe a little bit, but what's that got to do it, eh?
[laughs]
Now, late last week, you all found out
that one of the evictees will be returning.
How does everyone feel about that?
Marcellas, I want to hear from you.
Why me?
Why, when my best friend was wrenched
from my arms for national television,
why would I have an invested interest,
any feeling at all about who comes back in this house?
If Amy's not standing right next to you, Julie,
I have a problem.
[laughter]
JULIE: Ooh, sounds like a threat, Marcellas.
Woo!
Never against you.
Now we clearly know--
as if we didn't before-- who you want back in the house.
No, I want Eric.
Chiara--
Yes?
You've had a very difficult week.
I want to know how difficult it was
making those final decisions as Head of Household.
The decisions of who to nominate?
JULIE: Yeah.
It was pretty difficult. Needless to say,
two very important people are in those chairs.
If I was to do wrong by one of them, I'm truly sorry,
but it was a decision I had to make.
OK.
I want to focus back on the two stars of tonight's show.
- Not me again. - Josh--
Yeah.
Any final thoughts you want to express to the group?
Do I?
Yeah.
One, I want to thank-- first of all,
if I am the one to go tonight, I want to thank, well,
CBS, you, and the producers for giving
me this incredible opportunity.
I want to say you're all an incredibly group of beautiful,
unique, and special people.
And please, again, you know, don't judge
me on my actions in this house.
You all know the real reasons that I was who I was.
I look forward to having a true relationship with each
and all of you outside this house.
And I wish you all the luck and success not only in this game,
but in the outside world--
really, for the rest of your lives.
It's been a great time here.
JULIE: Thank you, Josh.
Roddy, Josh took a lot of your time.
So I'm going to ask you to keep it brief please.
Well, you know, I do understand,
you know, it's difficult because Chiara
and I are a bit of an item here.
And the old saying goes--
Ooh, really?
Really?
The old saying goes that all's fair when, you know, I like you
a lot, but we're on network television,
my mom's watching, and w*r.
[laughter]
And everyone knows that.
And please know I understand you did it for the game.
And for the rest of us, if I walk out of here,
as I said once before, we all walk together
for the rest of our lives.
And you guys are always welcome into my life.
JULIE: Well said. Thank you, Roddy.
Thank you, everyone. I'll be back in a bit.
All right. We'll be here.
[music playing]
Will Chiara's plan to eliminate Josh work?
Or will Roddy fall victim to broken promises?
Tonight is eviction night.
The two nominees, Roddy and Josh, are not permitted to vote
nor is Chiara as Head of Household.
All votes are cast in secret in the Diary Room.
Lisa and Marcellas are first.
Let's hear their thoughts as they prepare to vote.
I believe that Josh's behavior is a little bit
too extravagant for me.
It is a little bit too loud.
And it just gets to the point where you
don't want to babysit anymore.
I feel that Roddy was the master behind the plan
to evict me when Eric and I were up
together by using other people.
Roddy didn't go and do it himself,
and he had other people do his work for him.
It's dirty, and I don't like that.
Josh is one of the vilest people
I've ever met in my life.
Josh has been nothing but an irritant within the house.
Roddy was one of the first people
that I thought was a threat because he's so smart
and because he's very, very charming.
He's in a very vulnerable position this week
being up at all, being nominated.
His, like, jugular is exposed, and you
almost want to get the most popular
players out at all costs.
[music playing]
Welcome back to "Big Brother."
One week ago, Chiara and Roddy were quite the power couple.
But now it's Chiara who has all the power.
In a surprise move, she put her boyfriend Roddy
up for nomination as a ploy to get rid of Josh.
Chiara's girlfriends and Roddy's high school friends
are the first to say that this match
is not exactly made in heaven.
Kiki is dumb as a rock.
[laughing]
Roddy's very dry.
ALL: Drip, drip.
Trash, she's trash.
[whoosh]
Roddy, I hate to break it to you,
but since you've been gone so long,
we had to pick up another friend.
This is our new friend, New Roddy.
My brother Chris and I, we've known Roddy since the first day
of high school.
CHRIS: He's like the stray dog that Phil
brought home that never left.
[gargling]
CHRIS: Rod is the kind of guy that can get on a plane
without a ticket.
Rod's the kind of guy that the last week of high school
was failing out of every class and then got valedictorian.
The new Mr. "Big Brother " is Roddy!
[cheering and applause]
CHRIS: We want to know what those weights
weigh at "Big Brother"--
Yeah!
--because we've never seen him lift that much in his life.
Woo!
I think Rod has done a great job of playing the game.
And then all of a sudden, he met Chiara.
[gentle piano music]
And I knew that was trouble right from the get-go.
This girl is bad news.
[fast-paced music]
We're all Chiara's friends from college.
Chiara will break her back for anybody.
FRIEND : Chiara would give you the shirt off her back
if you needed it.
There's % of Chiara that's very serious, very intelligent,
a strong woman.
FRIEND : And she always has to be
center of attention, of course. FRIEND : Oh, yeah.
FRIEND : Oh, absolutely.
Chiara is very open about her body.
My friend Theresa's jealous right now.
All my friends are jealous.
Chiara pushes it to the limit.
We're on top of this.
RENEE: She loves to see people's reaction.
It's entertainment for her.
Roddy is definitely not Chiara's type, absolutely not.
[laughing]
Absolutely not.
Absolutely not.
I mean, he reads encyclopedias.
She talks dirty.
She's got a gutter mouth.
The third guy I was with was so small.
[laughs]
You can see where the attraction is on Roddy's part
because those are some of the things that he likes.
RENEE: I think that she cares for him a lot, but it's a game
and she's there to protect herself.
Chiara has a hidden agenda.
I will guarantee you you're not going anywhere.
I've already gotten words.
Do you think Lisa would have put Eric on the block?
I'm not Lisa.
PHIL: He always picks the wrong girl.
He's sitting there picking up a girl that's going to now
put him on the chopping block.
I think she's strategizing.
See you later.
Good luck.
I think it's gonna to take a lot for Rod
to dodge this b*llet.
This is a major point in this game.
I'm a little nervous for him.
The eviction isn't the only thing
on the Houseguests' minds.
Tonight, one of the first four evictees
will walk back into the "Big Brother" house.
Will it be Lori, Tonya, Amy, or Eric?
The Houseguests have been anticipating
this big event all week.
[suspenseful music]
I would definitely say that adding a third lizard
would unfairly cut off the space that the two lizards already
have in there to begin with, and it's space that they're
confined to for so long.
It would be like adding new Houseguests in here.
I'm pissed off as hell.
About bringing someone back in here?
We all obviously have the one person we want back.
If Eric comes back, it would be so great.
If Eric comes back, I'm the next one out.
I would like to see Lori return.
[whoosh]
I thought she was given the bum's rush
and deserves a second chance.
I really want Tonya back.
[whoosh]
You really want Eric back.
You really want Amy back.
If I saw Amy walk through that door, oh happy days.
[whoosh]
Jay, how do you feel about them,
the person coming back in?
I really think everybody's going to g*ng up on them,
and they're going to be gone pretty quick.
I guess they weren't kidding when they said that, you know,
be prepared for anything.
But before someone walks back in, someone must walk out.
The eviction is next.
Of the five votes cast this week, it takes only three
to evict.
Let's check out the Diary Room and see
what Jason, Gerry, and Danielle are thinking as they
prepare to cast their votes.
Josh is a great guy.
He brings a lot of life and energy to this house,
and just having him around keeps some spirits high.
It's kind of a tough decision to make right now.
You know, should he stay or should he go?
Roddy is a great competitor in this game.
I feel like, you know, it might be
in the best interest of this house
to vote to evict him right now.
The reasons why I would conceive of voting Roddy out
of the game is that he is a very, very smart man
and probably, you know, a master strategist.
It's been a dicey, dicey decision for me.
On the one hand, keeping Josh and his antics
allow me to fly below the radar.
On the other hand, his antics stir up so much,
it makes it uncomfortable in the house.
The only reason why I want Josh to stay
is that I can use Josh to serve my needs.
I believe he will be on my side, and he
will help me get to the end.
A lot of people love Roddy.
He's charismatic.
Roddy needs to leave because I don't think
I have a chance of winning the Gs
while he's still in the house.
[music playing]
Welcome back to "Big Brother."
Eviction number five is about to take place.
Josh and Roddy, friends from day one,
are on the nomination block together.
Let's find out who will be the next to leave
the "Big Brother" house.
Houseguests-- - Yeah?
Hello.
--the wait is finally over.
Thank God.
Let's reveal the results of the vote.
[music playing]
By a vote of five to zero, Josh, you are evicted
from the "Big Brother" house.
OK, guys, real quick right here.
All right. - Group hug.
- Group hug. - Hug.
For sure.
Go team!
All right.
Come on, Josh.
All right.
Take care guys. - Bye, Josh.
Good luck to all of you for real.
- Bye, Josh. - Take care, Josh.
Keep your heads about you.
All right, guys.
I just want to tell both of you you're two of the greatest
people I've ever met, and I'm really happy the time
we spent together. - Thank you, Josh.
- All right? - See you, buddy.
Good luck to both of you if you're in the finals.
"Mer-witt"-- tell her we said hello.
- All right. - Have some fun, Josh.
- All right. - See ya, pal.
- Later, bro. - See ya.
Oh, they cleaned this area up.
He's sweating it or what.
[music playing]
JULIE: Hey Josh. - Hey.
- Good to see you in person. - You too.
- Just set it down right there. - Give me a little hug.
- Don't smack my back end. - Oh!
I heard what you said in the house.
Sit your back end down here.
Blasphemy!
[laughing]
I'm glad you're here, Roddy.
Is that Roddy?
That's me.
You want to have a seat on the couch now, please?
I know.
Yeah.
Can you sit on the couch please?
Thank you. - Phew.
- Woo. - Thanks, guys.
Thank you. Thank you.
Thank you. I love everybody.
Even if you voted me out, I'd still love you guys.
[inaudible]
Are you still here?
Yeah, I'm still here.
Are you still here?
Thank you for everyone keeping to their word.
That was really important.
So thank you.
I'm glad we got a couple days with Joshie
like that at the end.
I'm glad he, you know, let the cat out
of the bag and [inaudible]--
When he stood up, I got nervous.
I was like, here we go.
We're--
And I was like, oh my god, he lied.
He stood up to get the whoopee cushion.
- OK. - Oh, is that why he stood up?
Yeah, which was really--
I actually thought--
I forgot that you had the whoopee cushion,
and I thought he had.
And I thought he was trying to set you up.
So at one point today, I was like, mental note--
remember to tell Roddy there's a whoopee cushion by that.
You don't seem one bit surprised to be sitting here.
Why not?
No, I mean, because pretty much--
I mean, I went into the house, and I had a strategy.
JULIE: Which was what?
Which was pretty much to position myself
as someone who is not necessarily loved or enjoyed,
but someone that you want to keep around
or someone standing next to you at the end
for a chance to win $,.
In the beginning, I was fine to keep an alliance
with certain people.
But when it started to break down in week
two and people really couldn't keep their heads--
JULIE: Week two?
Like day two, there were all these new alliances.
This is true.
And people couldn't keep their heads about them.
I had to start branching out and finding ways
to keep myself in the house.
And it was, you know, scratch and pull, and it was a battle.
And once you're exposed--
Would you say from the moment Chiara nominated you
and Roddy, you knew you were a goner?
Absolutely.
I knew that the research had been done,
that she had secured the votes.
I mean, she's a very ruthless and diabolical player.
I respect her for that.
And I know she did her research and her homework.
OK, well, what would then-- it would obviously surprise you
if I were to tell you that as recently
as two days ago, you actually had
the votes to stay in the house.
I mean, that would surprise me.
And people might say one thing, but I
think that people, by the time they got to the Diary Room,
would have feared the repercussions of that.
Well, knowing what I did just tell you,
which we truly believe is accurate--
Sure.
--would you have done anything differently?
No, I really wouldn't have.
I mean, I don't--
I think people-- I've definitely learned that people do things
in this game one way, and then when push comes to shove,
they do handle it another way.
I played the game the way I thought fit to change my life
and change my lot, you know, for other people.
Now, despite the animosity that we saw play out
in the last week, what, if anything,
positive are you going to take away from your experience
in the house?
I mean, I really wasn't nearly--
I didn't have all the animosity that people really believe.
A lot of it really was for show.
There are some really great people in that house.
And I've learned a lot about, you know,
different people and different things
that I take a lot away from each and every person
in that house that'll help shape my life for the rest
of my time on this earth.
So it sounds like overall you think it was positive.
Oh, yeah, I loved my time in there.
I loved the opportunity that I had, that I was given.
And I have no problems whatsoever with it.
You did make friends in that house.
There's no doubt about it.
Absolutely.
And your friends taped special messages for you in the event
that you would be sitting here with me tonight.
So let's listen to what they had to say.
- OK. - Right over here.
All right.
[music playing]
Hey, Joshie.
I just want to tell you that you are
missed already in this house.
You're smart.
You're funny.
You're just a pleasure to be around.
Pain in the a*s sometimes, but so
am I. I think that's what I like about you.
I want to meet "Mer-witt."
Kiss R for me and say hello to Merritt for me.
The house is going to be a little bit
grayer without you here, Josh.
I'm really going to miss you, and I
wish you could stick around.
Regardless of what you think people believe about you,
remember this.
I know-- I know personally--
there's good in you.
You're an amazing guy no matter what the hell problems
people yap about in here.
It's got nothing to do with you.
You're a better person than any of these people understand,
I think.
Thank you for the kind words that you gave me.
Especially I think of the day when
I got my letter from my family.
It meant a lot.
Bye and take care.
All right, you knucklehead.
I'll see you in a few days, I think.
What do you think?
I think I expect no less from those people in the house.
Like I said, there are really tremendously
incredible people in that house, and they
all have very big hearts.
They're placed in a very tricky situation of balancing,
you know, trust, respect, love, and looking out for themselves,
and looking out for the people--
the real people-- that matter to them outside of this house.
So I'm not surprised at all at those messages.
You know, I love those people. - OK.
You seem like a good sport, which I like.
I really am. JULIE: It's the Queens in you.
I'm from Queens too, so. - Sure.
It sure is.
Far Rockaway!
All right now.
Don't get all homeskillet on me.
[laughs] We will see you back here in September.
That's when you and the rest of the evicted Houseguests
will serve as a jury and have the final say on who
will win "Big Brother ."
In the meantime, who would you want to see most right now?
Roddy. Oh, who would I want to see--
JULIE: Yeah. - Merritt.
I want to see Merritt. JULIE: Well, guess what?
Your wish will be granted.
Where is my baby?
She's waiting on the other side of the glass door
that you walked through right there.
Oh my god.
Hello, Merritt!
Hey, baby.
Oh god, I missed you so much.
Oh god, I missed you so much.
Oh god.
[kissing]
I'm so happy to see you.
Oh god, I'm so happy to see you too.
I'm going to spend the rest of my life with you.
[music playing]
Coming up, Lori, Tonya, Amy, Eric--
which one of these evictees will win
the right to step back through the door
and back into the game?
The big event is next.
[music playing]
Welcome back.
It is the moment we've all been waiting for.
Last week, we revealed a new twist
in the "Big Brother" game--
one of the first four evictees will be returning to the house.
Yesterday, I spoke to Lori, Tonya, Amy, and Eric
and found out just how badly they wanted a second shot
at the grand prize.
[music playing]
Hi, Lori. - Hello.
How are you?
Welcome back to the studio. - I'm fine.
Thank you very much. - You look great.
Thank you.
Why don't you have a seat right here?
OK.
You are here because we are giving you as well as
the other evicted Houseguests--
Tonya, Amy, and Eric--
the chance to get back into the "Big Brother"
house in hopes of claiming the grand prize
of a half million dollars.
What a kicker.
[laughs]
Now, only one of you can walk back through those doors.
I understand.
What would you be willing to do to get back in the house?
You throw it at me, and I'm an adventurous girl.
I would do anything to go back into the house.
OK.
What if I asked you to put your money where your mouth is?
If you were to win the half million dollar grand prize--
OK.
--how much of the $, would you be willing to give
up right now to get back in the house, to get back in the game?
I'd give up ,.
Well, talk is cheap.
[laughs]
What would you say if I asked you to sign
this legally binding contract--
OK. JULIE: Fill in--
$,?
JULIE: $,. - Absolutely.
JULIE: You can rethink it--
No, I don't have to rethink it.
--because I'm going to ask you to sign that.
Sure.
Whatever.
You know, money, whatever.
- Well, thank you, Lori. - All right.
I'll be talking to you in a little bit.
Sure. All right.
[sighs]
Well.
How badly do you want to get back into the house?
I really want to get back in that house.
I want to get back and just show how manipulative I can be.
How much of the $, would you be willing to give up?
I'd do half.
I would.
I'm going to ask you to put that in writing.
That's a lot of money, but--
That's it.
- All right. - Thank you, Tonya.
Thank you.
I will talk to you in a little bit.
- All right. - Have a seat right there.
All right.
How much of the $, would you
be willing to give up right now to get back into the house,
to get back into the game?
Half of it.
I have here a legally binding contract.
OK.
All right.
All right.
Thank you, and I'll talk to you in a little bit.
- Thank you. - Hi.
Why don't you have a seat right there?
Thank you.
How badly do you want to get back into the game?
If you let me, I'd probably kick open that door
and run in there right now.
How much of the $, would you be willing to give up?
Take half of it.
[chuckles] Lot of zeroes.
JULIE: And just go ahead and put the date after you sign it.
Thank you, Eric. [whoosh]
Good to see you again.
Good to see you.
JULIE: Eric, how are you? - Hello.
Be gentle this time.
Thank you.
[laughs] Amy and Tonya, hello, hello.
- Hello. - Hello, hello.
Hello, Amy.
OK.
This is the first time the four of you
have seen each other since being evicted.
How is it?
Everybody looks great.
It's nice.
Everybody looks tan.
Well, guys, there are two phases
to getting back into the game.
You've all completed phase one.
I have the contracts here.
The two people who are willing to give up the most
will now gain the most and will stay in the running
to get back into the house.
The other two will go home.
So shall we find out who is willing to give up the most?
Go ahead.
JULIE: Lori, you said you were willing to give
up $, of the grand prize to get back into the game.
That is correct.
JULIE: OK.
Tonya, Amy, Eric, you each said $,, half the grand prize
money, to get back in the game.
Wow, they want in.
[laughter]
They want in badly.
JULIE: So Lori, I'm sorry.
You are now out of the running.
That's all right.
Because of the three-way tie, I had to ask each
of you a tie-breaking question.
[whoosh]
Of the remaining days left in the game,
how many days would you be willing to eat
only peanut butter and jelly?
Oh, gross.
[whoosh]
[whoosh]
I love peanut butter and jelly.
I always loved it as a little kid.
[whoosh]
Tonya, you said days.
Amy--
Yes.
JULIE: You said all .
Eric, you also said all days.
So congratulations, Amy and Eric.
The two of you are now in the running to re-enter the house.
Tonya and Lori, I'm sorry.
You will be going home, but--
There is nothing wrong with that.
JULIE: --the two of you will be back here finale night
in September, when the jury votes on who will
be the last person standing.
These contracts--
Hey.
Good move.
Maybe.
Null and void.
Even the peanut butter and jelly?
Even the peanut butter and jelly.
Yes!
JULIE: If either one or you win, you will not only
be able to keep all $,, but you
will not have to eat peanut butter and jelly for days.
OK.
Amy and Eric, it's now up to the seven
remaining Houseguests.
They will vote between the two of you
who they would like to invite back inside.
I'm going to ask both of you to pack your bags
and get ready to re-enter the house.
OK.
- Thank you, Houseguests. - Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Who will the Houseguests choose to let back in?
Amy and Eric are now waiting outside the door.
Find out when we return.
[music playing]
Welcome back.
Amy and Eric are both ready and waiting
to walk through the front door, but only one of them
will get the chance to walk inside.
The seven remaining Houseguests don't know it yet,
but we're going to ask them to make the final decision live.
Hi, everyone.
Now, you've all been asked to go into separate rooms
because tonight--
tonight, you're going to have a say on who
will be returning to the house.
Now yesterday, Lori, Tonya, Amy, and Eric's commitment
to the game was put to the test, and the field
was narrowed down to two--
Eric and Amy.
You will now each get to vote between the two.
Now, this vote is a secret vote.
Neither Eric nor Amy can hear or see your decision.
I'll call on each of you one at a time,
and you will answer by raising a red or black paddle.
Everyone clear with this?
Let's begin.
Roddy--
Yes.
If you want Amy to return to the house,
raise your red paddle.
If you want Eric to return to the house,
raise your black paddle.
Got it.
Thank you.
Danielle, if you want Amy to return, raise your red paddle.
If you want Eric to return, raise your black paddle.
Got it.
Thank you, Danielle.
Marcellas, if you want Amy to return, raise your red paddle.
If you want Eric back in the house, raise your black paddle.
Thank you.
Chiara, if you want Amy to return, raise your red paddle.
If you want Eric back in the house, raise your black paddle.
Thank you.
Gerry, I'm just going to repeat it again.
I know you've heard so many times.
If you want Amy to return, raise your red paddle.
If you want Eric to return, raise your black paddle.
Clear.
Lisa, if you want Amy to return, raise your red paddle.
If you want Eric to return, raise your black paddle.
Got it.
Jason, I'm not going to switch it off for you,
but I am going to repeat it one more time.
If you want Amy to return, raise your red paddle.
If you want Eric back in the house, raise your black paddle.
Got it.
OK, Houseguests, you can now move about the house freely.
The winner will be ringing the doorbell in just a moment.
Oh my gosh.
That was awesome.
Woo!
[inaudible]
That sucks.
Red for Eric, right?
Oh, that was awesome, though.
[SINGING] Oh!
That's crazy.
That is not something you can--
[SINGING] Oh!
Oh my gosh.
The votes have been cast, and the decision is final.
[music playing]
Congratulations, Amy.
You have won the right to walk back into the house, back
into the game.
Thanks.
JULIE: You can go on into the house--
Go in there and raise some hell, all right?
JULIE: --any minute you feel.
OK, I will.
You have fun.
[inaudible]
I will.
[doorbell]
[chuckles]
I like the doorbell.
Bye, sweetheart.
Bye.
- Ready? - Where's the microphone?
Ready?
OK.
[screaming]
[laughter]
Woo-hoo!
Oh my god.
Oh, look at you.
Oh my god.
Oh my god.
Amy!
Oh my god.
Ah!
Thank you all.
Thank you all so much.
I missed you all so much.
How cute is that.
I brought cigars from a foreign country
that I'm not allowed--
[SCREAMING, CHEERING, AND CLAPPING]
Amy, you look great.
You're so tan. - Oh my god.
Oh my god!
[inaudible]
Hey.
Oh my god.
Wow!
[laughs]
Oh my god.
Oh, thank you all so much.
Oh my god.
When we return, this week's Head of Household competition.
Believe me when I say it's sure to raise a stink.
Stay with us.
[music playing]
Welcome back.
It is now time for the Head of Household competition.
Now, we've asked all the Houseguests
to get into their swimsuits, but they don't know why.
Let's talk to them now.
That was the last thing he said.
- Hi, everyone. - Tell Lisa--
- Hi, Julie. - Hey.
Welcome back in the house, Amy.
Thanks!
You got changed very quickly.
Yeah.
Now, first order of business, I'd like everyone to go
outside to the backyard now.
All right.
I have on heels.
This is like being in a pageant.
Amy, yeah, stay that way.
That's awesome.
And you got your hair all braided.
- Oh, yeah. - Wow.
Oh my god, my face.
God.
Yeah, I'm going to have to take that down.
JULIE: Houseguests, the power is up for grabs.
It's time for this week's Head of Household competition.
Now, in front of you is a giant bathtub filled with water.
I need all of you to take off your microphones
and get into the tub now.
Get in?
JULIE: Now, once inside, please sit down and do not get up
or you will be disqualified.
Oh, god.
JULIE: Now, the rules are simple.
Listen up, everyone.
You must remain seated at all times,
and you may not sleep in the tub.
If you close your eyes for longer than seconds,
you will be disqualified.
Did everyone copy that?
Of course. JULIE: OK?
[laughter]
Now, the last one out of the tub will
be the new Head of Household.
Obviously, Chiara, as outgoing Head of Household,
you're not eligible to compete this week,
but I do need your help.
Yes.
I'd like you to grab mystery bucket number one.
Oh my god.
Oh my god.
No.
Chiara looks a little bit too excited about this.
Now, there's a card-- - Oh!
JULIE: --on top of the bucket.
There's a card on top of the bucket.
OK.
Oh.
JULIE: Read it out loud to everyone, please.
A good Head of Household must have
enough arms to keep a finger on every pulse in the house.
Representing this quality, whole squid.
JULIE: Now--
Calamari.
JULIE: --please empty the contents of both buckets
into the tub.
- Are they dead? - Are they dead?
[laughing]
- Oh my god! - Oh.
Ew.
Oh.
Oh my god!
Are they dead?
- I don't know. - Calamari!
JULIE: Roddy out already?
Definitely dead.
JULIE: You have a squid fear?
I don't take [inaudible].
OK.
Everyone else still remaining?
You remember the rules, now?
You have to stay sitting and no closing your eyes
for more than seconds.
No more than seconds.
I thought [inaudible].
JULIE: Good luck, Houseguests. - [laughs]
- What? - Ugh. the smell.
So no more than seconds, you can't close your eyes.
OK.
[music playing]
Oh.
Oh my god, that stinks.
- OK, you gotta have one-- - Huh?
You gotta have one at your foot like I do.
Oh god, I do.
Oh god.
You do?
What the Houseguests don't know
is that squid is not the only mystery ingredient
to be tossed into the tub.
How badly do these Houseguests want to win Head of Household?
Find out who lasts the longest in the giant bathtub
in a special edition of "Big Brother " tomorrow night.
That is Friday at : Eastern, : Central.
Now, there's no show this Saturday due to NFL preseason
football, but be sure to tune in next Wednesday
for a special two-hour episode of "Big Brother "
at : Eastern, : Central.
That's when the Houseguests will get a surprise visit
from Grammy-winner Sheryl Crow.
Then, I'll be back live next Thursday
as we find out which Houseguest is the next to be evicted.
We leave you now as we eavesdrop on the tub.
I'm Julie Chen.
Good night.
Jason.
[inaudible]
Oh god.
Two of them at once.
His hair's wet.
- I wet my hair. - You went under.
Oh god.
[fake eating sounds]
Ew, leave them alone.
They'll start to fall apart.
Amy, you look amazing.
Oh, thanks.
It's because I got some color. - No thanks, guys.
A little squeamish--
It's all Bo Derek.
[LAUGHING] Yeah.
And I will tell you, the video we saw, Amy, of you,
you looked hot.
I was so [inaudible].
You were.
And the way you said, "marvelous."
"Mah-vel-ous."
You look so good.
It's "mah-vel-ous," darling.
"Mah-vel-ous."
Yeah, it was fun.
OK, Marcellas and Amy, I have your microphones
together since I'm sure you wanted it that way.
Was everybody in Margaritaville, Mexico?
Yeah, we were all three in different places.
[music playing and chatter]
So everybody wasn't in one spot?
Yeah, it was like--
[inaudible] doing what they want.
I mean-- [laughter]
--they brush it out--
[theme music]
