to be the star

of my very own story.

Elmo's felt all
of those ways, Grover.

- Really?
- Yeah.

it helps to talk to someone
about how he feels.

with sharp teeth and claws!

about the monster

And not knowing
is very scary to me.

if it makes you feel better,

so Grover doesn't have
to be alone.

want to meet them

at the end of the story.

- Because that's
where the monster is?

And we keep getting
closer and closer

to the end of the story
with every word we say.

[gasps]

I have to stop saying words.

- That still won't
stop the story.

- Well, then if I cannot
stop the story,

Maybe I can change it instead.

Oh, I was so happy
and innocent then.

if the story is starting

won't we still get to the end
sooner or later?

We have to go back even more.

[music reversing quickly]

What are you afraid of?

- Aw, was little Grover
afraid of the dark?

- Me?

I was afraid of what might be
in the dark.

under my bed.

little Grovey.

[gasps]

Why don't we use
this flashlight

and look
under your bed together?

- Look how much courage I had,

even at such a tender,
young age.

- [gasps] What do you see?

There is nothing under here.

Except my robot.

[robot clicking rapidly]

[both laugh]

- See, Grover?

You already know
how to have courage,

because you've had it
so many times before.

- Aw, I suppose I have.
Hmm...

I wonder what I will see
if we go back even more.

Uh-oh.

Turbo rewind.

[grunting]

I think we might have
gone back too far.

- Uh, Grover?

- [gasps]

[tense music]

[Grover screams]

We need to fast-forward!

- Oh. Looks like we are back
in the story now.

[sighs] And that means we are
still heading towards the end,

where there is a monster.

- But that's okay.

Now Grover knows
he can have courage.

- Yes, Elmo,
I have had courage before.

And I suppose I can again.

Except when facing a T. rex.

[both laugh]

- Well, some things are scary.

But not monsters.

Monsters are friendly.

- Sí. We are all very friendly.

- Wha-what are you all
doing here?

I thought you were going
to meet me

at the end of the story.

- This is the end of the story,
Grover.

- What? Oh, no.

We went forward too far!

[gasping]

This is your last chance
to stop watching.

- It's okay, Grover.

All stories have to end
sometime, you know.

- Yep. And this it.
The dramatic conclusion.

- Oh, Grover.
It's so exciting.

- Are we already on the way
to the end of the story?

[sighs]

- We'll be with you
right till the very end.

- Yeah, we got your back.

still afraid.

[all inhale]

- [laughing] Yes!

But I'm here at the end too.

[all laughing]

there was nothing
to be afraid of.

[chuckles]
