-Listen, I don't have much time.

You're Switchblade?

-Yes, but listen--
-You're the one who's been attacking us.

Please, Jessalyn, I can explain.

I think we should put Rexly on the team.

Give him a set of his own armor.

Do not engage, pilots. Stay back!

Hey! You're the one that hurt my brother!

Joon, no!

[panting]

[Joon panting heavily]

Kex, that's Switchblade!

Johnny?

Joon! [panting]

Joon!

It was you this whole time?

-I'm sorry, Kex.
-You traitor!

[grunts]

Kex!

[grunting]

You almost k*lled my brother.

I had no intention of hurting him

we gotta catch Switchblade.

[Liam] Whoa. Hey, buddy, what's going on?

Dr. Chandler, I do not know
what's wrong with Ajax.

[Dr. Chandler] Why is Ajax resisting you?

What did you do?

[Liam] Why do you assume that
this is my fault? I didn't do anything.

Ajax, settle down.

[grunting]

He's not listening to you.

Have you noticed
he's not listening to you?

Have you lost your bond?

[Liam] I'm not sure.
Ajax, please, we have to get going.

-[roaring]
-[clanging]

Oh, this is not good.

Liam, Switchblade is headed
towards our solar array,

which powers our base-wide
cloaking system.

And if damaged,
it could compromise our location

and expose us to alien attack.

[Liam] Copy that.

Over there!

Dr. Chandler, I've lost sight
of Switchblade.

Liam, abort!

Repeat, abort!

Switchblade is gone!

Return to base.

Do not enter the solar array field.

[Liam] Ajax?

Whoa. Whoa!

You heard Dr. Chandler,
we need to head back to base now, Ajax!

[roars]

[Dr. Chandler] Liam, what are you doing?

[Liam] It's... It's not me,

it's Ajax.

Ajax, please leave Rexly alone.
We need to get back to the base.

Hey! Hey, no, no, no!

Wait! No.

Hey, stop!

Liam, what has gotten into you?

[Liam] He's not listening to me.

-Ajax!
-[roars]

Oh, no.

What have we done?

I told you to abort.

You were told not
to go in there, but you did,

and now our solar array is destroyed.

I'm sorry, Dr. Chandler.

Fortunately, we were able to activate
our emergency backup plasma generator

and keep our cloaking systems operational,

so our location
was not revealed to the enemy.

Have you lost your bond with Ajax?

No. No, of course not.

Well, then, the problem has to be Rexly.

What? No.

Perhaps we should recycle the little guy

and return his DNA
to the T-Rex genetic mix.

-"Recycle"?
-You mean euthanize.

Euthanize? No. No, no, no.

What I'm suggesting
is that we re-atomize him

into a different form.

Still Rexly, just improved.

Well, they are, after all,
artificial constructs

made from the same genetic soup.

Remind me to not have
the soup of the day anymore.

Dr. Chandler, that's horrible.

Have you done this before?

Well, no, actually,

'cause Liam keeps hiding
the other mistakes.

Yeah. Good for you, Liam.

Way to go, bro.

Dr. Chandler, they're living creatures.

This is not just a science experiment
where you recycle them

if they don't meet your standard.

I don't think that any of you
understand the gravity

of how difficult it is
to recreate living dinosaurs.

Excuse me. Hey, please.

You need to rethink
your process, Dr. Chandler.

This is outrageous.

Maybe it's time for all of us...

to go home.

Hmm?

I see.

And you all feel this way,

even though none of you
have bonded with Rexly?

Well,

this feels a little like a mutiny.

Mutiny?

I wasn't serious about going home.

What's up with Dr. Chandler?

I've never seen him like this before.

Well... this went south in a hurry.

They're not focused,
and I'm going to replace them.

Wait. You want to replace the pilots?

We can't do that.

Well, I can, and I'm going to.

-With who?
-With the previous group.

What?

No, we specifically brought them here

because they could bond
with the dinosaurs the way Su had

because not bonding with them
wasn't working.

Well, it was working.

And then look what happened
with the solar panels.

Maybe I was wrong
about all this bonding nonsense.

Nonsense?

No, it's not nonsense.

We've seen it with our own eyes.

And, yes, they're young,

but they are light years ahead
of our last pilots.

That's just it.

They're young trainees,
they're not soldiers.

They're out there
riding five-ton dinosaurs,

they're not toys.

Jessalyn...

the day they arrived,
you were the one that took me to task

when I first introduced them
to the dinosaurs.

You said it yourself
that they shouldn't be in there with them

because they're too dangerous.

And I...

I didn't listen.

-Chandler, listen, I...
-No, no, no.

I'm going to prep Armorsaurs Team Six

and get them on the practice field.

And we'll see who's better.

Okay.

What do you expect to accomplish
with me and my old team?

I just want to see who's more skilled

and more useful to the project.

I'm having second thoughts about
their qualifications as proper soldiers.

I'm worried that they're...

too soft.

I don't see them as soft.

They're the best pilots we've ever had.

Yes, but they are young and inexperienced.

I don't care how young they are.

They've all successfully
bonded with their dinosaurs.

They are the best.

I mean, you know
what happened to me without a bond.

And you have more tactical
experience... [stammers]

far more than any
of those trainees combined.

-But...
-But nothing.

The Armorsaurs program
was created to stop aliens

from destroying the Earth.

So we need to find out
who's best to get that done.

So assemble your team
and get out there, now.

[Paloma] So you weren't kidding.

There is another Armorsaurs team.

Yeah, there is. Kex and her squad.

So, what do you hope to accomplish?

Su was the only member of her team
to bond with the dinosaur

and he's gone.

Yes. And even without Su,
they're still a great team, Jessalyn.

You've got to admit
they are tough as hammers.

-Nails!
-Hmm?

"Tough as nails."

Exactly.

[sighs] Okay.

Everyone needs to toughen up a little bit.

That's why Kex and her team are here.

[Prisca] So you want us
facing each other in a dart game?

Let's start with a little game of tag.

You've all been equipped with, hopefully,

non-lethal darts in your side cannons.

[Paloma] "Hopefully"?

The first team to eliminate
the other team wins.

[T.J.] Win what?

-The privilege of keeping your job.
-[T.J.] Done.

Let's go, Armorsaurs!

We can do this.

[T.J.] Everyone, split up.

Whoa! Watch out!

Huh?

Okay, Cobalt, they think we're easy prey,
so they'll come right at us.

Triceratops Four and Five, you're out!

Oh, man!

[T.J.] Whoo-hoo! Great job, Cobalt.

Dr. Chandler,
I'm not comfortable facing off

with a T-Rex unbonded.

It's just a non-lethal dart game.

[Liam] All right. Ready, Ajax?

You're not getting away.

[T.J.] Liam, I got eyes on Kex.

[darts firing]

[Liam] We got you surrounded, Kex.

[darts firing]

[T.J.] Whoa!

Dude, I hope Dr. Chandler didn't see that.

[darts firing]

-Paloma, incoming!
-[Paloma] Whoa.

Whoo! Nice shot, sis.

[soldier 1] Ha!
They won't find us in here.

-[soldier 2] Yeah.
-[soldier 1] Just like sitting ducks.

[Liam chuckles]

Come on, Ajax,

let's ambush the ambushers.

-Oh, no.
-[chuckles] Right into our trap.

-[firing]
-[Liam grunts]

[Paloma] Yoo-hoo, up here!

[firing]

-[thumping footsteps]
-[Cobalt roaring]

Okay. So you made a lucky move
against a couple of amateurs.

But for me, you're barely
even target practice.

[T.J.] Nothing but trash talk.

Juke left, Cobalt. Nice.

Now... Yep, juke right.
You're ahead of me, girl.

Jump! Too fast for you.

Wow. How did he get
his triceratops to do that?

Ha! He thought he had us,
so he didn't even move.

[Joon] Boom. Incoming. Tag, you're it.

[soldier] No.

Aw, man!

[Kex] Why are you stopping?

[darts firing]

[Prisca] Surprise!

[Kex] So, looks like
the new Armorsaurs squad

has come out on top in this battle.

[laughs] Well, maybe not "all of them."

[thumping footsteps]

[laughing]

-[laughter continues]
-[roaring]

-[soldier] Oh, look at all those darts.
-[Liam] I am so fired.

[laughter]

How did you know where she was gonna be?

We saw her following T.J.

Yeah. So we booked ahead of you, Teej,
and climbed a tree.

No one ever thinks to look up.

[chuckles]

Where's Liam?

Probably in the lab.

I'm sure he's feeling pretty bad
about getting tagged.

Yeah. Poor guy.

Do you really think
Dr. Chandler's gonna cut Liam?

I mean, we won fair and square.

He wouldn't do that.

Would he?

[footsteps approaching]

[Helmsworth] So did it go the way
you thought it would?

You know, you're right.

They're young, they're not fully trained,

and they definitely need to be better
at following instructions.

And maybe...

we need to trust them more, too.

Chandler, I'm not a fool.

I know why you were
so disappointed with Liam,

with all of them.
I know why you wanted to replace them.

And it is not because
they aren't right for the program.

We all know that they are
the best hope we have.

You're worried about them because...

you care about them.

I'm a scientist, Colonel Helmsworth.

I signed up to save this planet,
not to have feelings.

I'm not good with feelings.

I don't know how to process.

I-I don't understand all that.

It's okay.

This...

stuff, it takes...

time to figure out...

but...

it starts with admitting to yourself...

that you care.

You okay?

Are you here to kick me off the team?

No. No, your team needs you.

We all do.

And Rexly?

Are you here to take him from me?

No. Rexly can stay.

It's clear you care
a great deal about him,

although I'm not sure why.

[laughs]

[Dr. Chandler] It must be
difficult for the little guy.

I'm not sure he'd even
survive without you.

No...

he just needs someone to care about him.

I guess, uh,

caring for someone else
is rather challenging,

never knowing
if you're doing the right thing

or if you're doing it the right way.

You just worry about them.

It's not easy,

and sometimes you...

You mess up.

Some people are better at it than others,
I suppose.

I think as, as long as you care,

maybe that's enough.

Or at least a start.

[Ajax roars]

It's Ajax. He makes him anxious.

Well, sure.

Look at the size difference. [chuckles]

That must be a bit overwhelming.

Being that he could easily
be squished like a bug?

Yeah, I'd be nervous, too.

That is interesting, though.

As much as Rexly is anxious,
even afraid of Ajax,

I'm sure that Ajax is anxious, too.

Despite his size...

I think that sometimes
we assume something so...

big and so powerful
couldn't possibly have anxiety, but...

they can.

Let's try to reintroduce Rexly to Ajax.

Help them start over, become friends.

Come on, Rexly.

It's okay.

Why don't you try putting Rexly down?

Perhaps we need to let go
of control and trust

they'll be okay.

Ajax...

this is Rexly.

It's working.

Good.

Good.
