I do think you guys
did a great job,
but we have to compare you
to the other two teams
and I just think
that you guys were the weakest.
I believe it's because
it's red from head to toe.
Maybe in one look,
it would work,
but on three,
it just becomes an overload.
ZAC:
I love the jacket.
It looks very polished.
The middle dress,
just the fabrication
to the style,
falls flat.
The skirt, there's some
sewing problems on it.
It's a challenge
in one day to do
and engineer a pleated skirt.
The plaid in the jacket
to the skirt didn't help tie it.
It didn't transport me.
So, since you are
the losing team,
one of you
is going home tonight.
Dexter, who out of your team do
you think should go home today?
Oh... man.
[Dexter sighs]
I'm sorry, um...
I'm... I'm gonna have to say
Cornelius.
I'm sorry, Cornelius.
I'm in the middle
of two friends, so...
let's bring it on.
[chuckles]
-Why? -Just... just
design-design aesthetic-wise,
I just don't feel like
our stuff goes together.
And I feel like it was harder
for me to get him
into a different space
than his normal space.
Hmm. Okay.
Cornelius, how do you feel
about that?
I think... I think it's
like a stab in the back.
But... it-it is what it is.
I was going
the opposite direction.
Let's kind of tone it down
a little bit.
It is a little bit too red.
I mean, I tried to give o...
I did give options,
but I'm not here to throw
anybody under the bus.
I'm just here to say that
I was the mediator
and tried to bring
the cohesion into it, but yet,
people were like, "No, no, no."
So, I just started to say,
"Yes, yes, yes."
And then create my garments
and then
also help create
others' garments.
Cornelius, in your eyes,
who should go home today?
Based off of, like,
you know, like,
the styling and stuff,
I'm gonna have to say
Dexter because
it did become a lot red
with the handbag,
and then the socks and...
-I get it.
-CORNELIUS: Okay.
-Look, they asked...
-I'm just... you are the one.
Erin, who do you think
should go home today?
It's, like, me and Dexter
do work really well
with each other.
So, I would have to...
I would have to choose
Cornelius.
And that is because
you like Dexter more
as a friend?
No, not even...
it's not even more of a friend.
I think that Dexter and I
definitely like to go hard.
Our aesthetics are
just stronger together.
But did you give Cornelius
-a chance to even...?
-We were talking a lot. Like...
It just sucks that we had to be
put in this position to say that
-anyone should go home. -I don't
want to say that, either.
So, you can rephrase it.
Which look do you think
is the weakest up here?
Um... honestly,
the pleated skirt is my...
my least favorite one.
-It was...
-And who conceived that?
What?
Erin conceived it.
-No, it was...
-The pleated skirt.
She's like,
"Oh, I would like a pleat.
Let's do a pleat on a skirt."
-I'm gonna just tell
the truth now. -No, you should!
-Yeah, so... -No, I mean, I said
we should do a pleated skirt,
-but it was designed altogether.
-HEIDI: 'Cause your booties
-are on the line.
-Yeah.
-ERIN: So...
-I'm not just gonna sit here
-and let you guys bash me.
-ERIN: No, but, like, I don't...
that... 'cause it wasn't...
HEIDI: It's just, that skirt,
that pleated skirt--
who wants something long in
the front and short in the back?
Like, that, to me,
is an eyesore.
By moving your skirt
over to Erin's look,
it kind of put your look
into jeopardy
because clearly,
here we have Erin's look.
Here we have Dexter's look
and this is your look.
So, I have a question
for Erin and Dexter.
You both say that
Cornelius should go home,
but is he really responsible
for the failure
of this collection?
What you guys are saying
is our biggest issue
is that we didn't
get another color.
In a way, that's really all
of our faults 'cause no one got
anything other than red at Mood.
-It was almost there.
-To me, the winning piece here
is the jacket.
Uh, nothing else really feels
redeeming to me.
Cornelius,
do you have anything more?
I'm not saying anything else.
I'm done.
But your butt's
on the line here.
You're on the line.
At the end of the day,
everybody knows that
I worked my butt off.
I feel like I carried
a lot of load on me
while everybody,
you know, was, like,
sitting down, you know,
having a good time.
-Uh...
-Talking and stuff.
And I know that I worked
my butt off, so...
HEIDI:
Thank you, Team Red.
Okay, now we're talking
to the winning team.
Team Blue, tell us about your
collection and who created what.
We wanted to take
this notion of the emotional
part of the blue color,
but trying to make it rebellious
and very detailed.
I made the-the first look.
The sweater, the skirt,
part wool, part leather
fused with wool.
Geometric shapes in the front.
So, I've designed the last look.
We agreed on colors
before we went to Mood.
And we decided to, uh,
use the white to break up
the blue color.
We also agreed on the woman
we were gonna design for.
Sophisticated
with, uh, with an edge.
I created an inspired Chanel
smoking, uh, look.
So, I did the pants and, uh,
the shirt and the jacket.
I created the middle look.
I found this gorgeous wool,
check tartan
that was double-faced
with the blue on the inside,
a dark, dark navy.
And then I created
the dress underneath, as well,
with the leather,
the silk linen sateen
underneath, and then the linen
tee on top with a little bit
of a chiffon silk,
as well, trim.
We all borrowed and played
with our own aesthetics,
just transferring
everything into one
cohesive collection.
I don't know which look
I love the most
because I love them all.
I think you did a fantastic job.
I love the plaid, the leather,
the patches on the sweater,
I love to see
the T-shirt underneath.
I love the skirt,
the leather and the plaid mix.
I love that it's not
a regular hemline.
I mean, literally, there's
nothing here where I would say,
"I wish you would of, could of,
should of."
I love it just the way it is.
-Wow.
-Thank you. -Thank you.
In contrast
with the red group,
you used
white and black and other colors
to make that blue pop
and it popped perfectly.
It feels, in three pieces,
like a collection.
I could get that
jacket with that skirt.
I could have that sweater
with that pant.
And it would all work.
So, it's a collection.
And that was very gratifying.
ALL:
Thank you.
I love, in the first look,
the structure and texture
combined with comfort,
but still,
you know, I would wear that
down a red carpet.
The way that the dress
has got such a simplicity
that is so elegant
and effortless
with this incredible jacket
over it...
I'm obsessed
with the tuxedo jacket.
I just wish the tails
were just a little bit longer.
I am literally just
nitpicking because
I love every, single thing
that you have done
and I'm kind of a bit
mind-blown.
Who should be the winner
on your team?
I would probably say myself,
just because, you know,
I love my coat.
I love what I made.
But in the end, it's, you know,
up to the judges
which outfit you like best.
Well, I don't want to pick
myself, so I'm gonna pick, uh,
Mr. Roberi over here
'cause he worked crazy,
and made some magic,
-so, I give it him.
-Merci.
Roberi, who do you think should
be the winner on your team?
I would love to all three
be the winners
because we worked
very well together
and had so much fun.
And, that said, I would choose
Rik because nobody select him
and his jacket is amazing.
Okay, we have heard
what you had to say.
We're going to have a long chat
and then I call you back
onto the runway.
DESIGNERS:
Thank you.
-Hello.
-JENNI AND NATHALIA: Hi, guys.
[Dexter groans]
NATHALIA:
So, what happened?
I have nothing to say because
I'll just say some
negative [bleep].
HEIDI: The winner of Project
Runway will receive $100,000
to launch their line;
a year's supply
of Sally Beauty products,
along with $25,000 in cash;
travel and hotel accommodations
to inspiring destinations
around the world from
Best Western Hotels & Resorts;
a new Lexus IS;
from Mary Kay, an entire year's
worth of beauty products
for their fashion shows
and professional
makeup artist services
for their debut show;
a complete sewing
and crafting studio
from Brother Sewing
and Embroidery;
and the winning designer
and model will receive
a fashion spread
in Marie Claire magazine.
HEIDI:
Hi, Tim.
-Hi, Heidi, Zac, Nina. Kelly.
-ZAC: Hi.
Hi, Tim.
So, shall we begin
-with Team Red Violet?
-Yes.
Paola, would you
please step out?
There was a heated
discussion today
-on the runway.
-TIM: Yes, there was.
HEIDI:
They did throw each other
under the bus a little bit.
And I have to say,
on the topic of their textiles,
when I asked,
"Do you have any other color?"
All eyes went to Cornelius
and it was evident
that he had suggested that there
be something additional,
but I just have to say it:
we have two mean girls
on that team
and they beat up on him.
All I'm saying is he ended up
having the worst look
on the runway.
HEIDI:
This coat is stunning.
These pockets out here
like this,
that is really unique
and very cool.
My favorite part of the coat...
The fabric of the coat
is fabulous.
The detailing of the coat
is fabulous.
When this walked
the runway, I was like,
"Oh! A redeeming moment."
ZAC: But Erin wouldn't
have had a bottom
-to go with her jacket.
-TIM: Right.
She horded the skirt.
She put all her eggs
in one jacket.
-TIM: This is a total Dexter.
-Well, to me,
this is just terrible.
The one thing I'm really
confused about
is that if Dexter claims to be
so punk rock,
why did he give us
a samurai dress?
And why didn't he stud it
with tassels or something
to make it pop?
I like that it's denim.
ZAC: I see. I thought it
was all a one dress.
-KELLY: No.
-TIM: No.
-It's a skirt and a...
-NINA: Yeah.
-TIM: A vest. Yeah.
-...vest.
And I'm sorry,
-I just don't see punk in that.
-No.
TIM:
This is Roberi. Head to toe.
And I mean, to me,
this is more punk.
I wanted to say that,
but I felt like they were
-already so annihilated.
-Bad. You don't tear it down.
KELLY:
I couldn't.
Roberi's has all the
combinations of the textures.
And I like to see
the mismatched lengths
-of that skirt.
-ZAC: Very nice.
TIM:
This is Laurence.
I didn't realize how chic
the fabric on the pants are.
Yeah, Laurence really has
beautiful taste.
-This was not my favorite.
-Me, either.
It felt a little unfinished.
HEIDI: It's something
in the proportion.
What I love about it
is that it's chic,
but there's a sense
of comfort to it.
All in all, what's so impressive
is that in three looks,
they really gave you
-the sense of a collection.
-HEIDI: Yes.
Guys, I think Laurence
is still in the running.
I think they did
a phenomenal job.
I even think the losing team
did a fantastic job.
-I agree.
-Me, too.
ZAC:
We had very strong personalities
of Dexter and Erin.
Cornelius has been a little bit
more quiet throughout this.
His look wasn't
the worst
until he got rid of the skirt.
It's really hard for me
to see people being bullied
like that.
Then we have Dexter,
who made his total look.
It's just a question of
who do we want to see more of?
The winning team
did a fantastic job.
This showed great maturity,
-this collection. On all parts.
-KELLY: I think so.
Who is taking home the win?
-Is it Rik or is it Roberi?
-Or Laurence?
-Laurence is out of the running.
-I don't know.
ZAC: I love the tonality
on the pant.
KELLY:
It's very smart.
HEIDI:
It's beautiful, that.
I love her look,
but it's nothing
against Roberi.
That skirt that he made...
NINA:
That's the editorial look.
But also,
Rik did a fantastic job.
-Super-duper job.
-He made
a beautiful dress underneath.
-KELLY: Just that gentle
lace lining. -HEIDI: Yes.
That was a great jacket. He put
so much detail into this jacket.
-It's sophisticated, sporty,
and chic. -And we all want it.
So, it's really
between Rik
and Roberi.
So, we have made our decision?
The six of you represent
the teams
with the highest
and the lowest scores.
One of you will be the winner
of this challenge...
...and one of you will be out.
Roberi...
...you are the winner
of this challenge.
[applause]
Congratulations.
[Heidi chuckles]
Thank you very much.
-And to my team. Thank you.
-[Rik and Laurence smooches]
It was so difficult because
you were all great. Right?
Yeah, I wanted you all to win.
HEIDI:
But we still felt
-the strongest about you.
-ROBERI: Thank you.
Thank you.
Congratulations, Roberi.
-And congratulations, Team Blue.
-Thank you.
You're in.
You can leave the runway.
ROBERI:
My God!
It's the first time I win
and it feels great.
It feels amazing.
It feels you're...
you're doing
good job.
-Hi!
-Hi!
-Who won? -MAH-JING: Who won?
-Who took the cake?
-It was me! -NATHALIA: Roberi?
-RIK: It was awesome.
-[applause]
-Ah, yeah!
ROBERI:
I feel good
because now there is
only the most
capable people are left.
You have to step up your game
to belong to this group
of people.
It's a great moment, when...
when they really like
what you do.
You feel like, "Yeah!"
-Yeah.
-Yeah.
HEIDI:
Team Red Violet.
There was so much red,
that it really overwhelmed us.
Dexter, your intention
to go punk really did not
come through.
And your styling choices
-really failed your team.
-Cornelius,
it is clear that your voice
was not heard on this team.
And it's ultimately up to you
as a designer
to fight for what you want.
Erin,
we liked your coat very much.
But we wonder why
you didn't do more
to help your team.
Erin...
...you're in.
You can leave the runway.
Thanks, guys.
Dexter, Cornelius,
one of you will be out.
Cornelius...
...you're out.
I'm sorry.
Dexter, that means you're safe
and in.
-You can leave the runway.
-Okay. Thank you guys so much.
I'm sorry.
Cornelius, this was
a really tough decision.
I'm very sorry
-that you're leaving.
-Okay.
And we wish you
the best of luck,
-Cornelius.
-Thank you.
Auf wiedersehen.
-Thank you.
-Wishing you all the best.
It was a great opportunity,
guys, honestly.
CORNELIUS:
There was a little bit
of lying up on the stage.
For them to throw
me under the bus
is [bleep] bull[bleep].
They based it off of personality
and how they were clicking
versus who actually
did the work.
Hi, guys.
NATHALIA:
Aw.
It was a great opportunity.
-Thank you.
-[smooches]
CORNELIUS:
It's a design competition,
not a popularity contest.
And they have to go to bed
throwing
someone under the bus
versus taking responsibility
in what the [bleep]
they created.
RIK:
What was the final verdict?
They were just, like,
"You're out."
They said I should've spoke up.
That was it.
So...
JENNI: It was really fun
getting to know you.
Having you open up
and having this
small bark at first
and then really showing
-your, like, sensitive side.
-CORNELIUS: Mm-hmm.
Yeah.
[laughs]
Thanks.
That was...
-another rough one.
-JENNI: Yeah.
But I'm going to underscore
the words of the judges:
the work that you all created
as teams was grand and glorious.
Thank you.
And, Cornelius...
...you're not going anywhere.
[Mah-Jing gasps]
MAH-JING:
Get out of here!
I am using my Tim Gunn save.
[applause and cheers]
You're just a blessing
in disguise, honestly.
I'm so excited.
-LAURENCE: Yes!
-Y'all are trying to get a tear.
Yay!
Just to get on here was amazing,
so...
TIM:
Well, you're safe.
-TIM: Come here. -Tim, I got
to give you a hug for this!
-Of course.
-ROBERI: Yay!
-CORNELIUS: Thank you.
-TIM: You have a strong voice.
You have a lot more to say
and we want to hear it.
-[crying]: Okay.
-Okay?
You're staying.
Thank you.
I'm not gonna let...
JENNI:
Aw.
CORNELIUS:
Thank you so much.
I really appreciate this.
You did it.
You were my motivation.
Thank you.
-[chuckles lightly]
-All right, everyone.
Let's-let's get up
and get some air.
-Yes!
-I'm so [bleep] hot.
I'm so happy
you didn't have to go.
-[laughing]: Thanks.
-I didn't want you to leave.
-Oh, good heavens! Roberi,
congratulations! -Thank you!
I've never been down there
like that. I'm so traumatized.
CORNELIUS:
Oh, my God.
HEIDI: Next time
on Project Runway...
Oh, my God.
Oh, [bleep].
DEXTER: Why does Cornelius
have to come back?
Like, ah, just go home.
WOMAN:
To help inspire you,
we've brought
some very special people.
TIM:
These individuals will serve
as your clients.
How many times
have we seen this coat?
-Eesh. -[cries]
-Go. Come on, come on, come on.
-You have to put it
on right now! -Nathalia!
I know I'm [bleep].
It really looks expensive.
You look badass.
You don't look sophisticated
in it.
And it looks like
there's a pin in it.
Are you okay?
HEIDI: Visit mylifetime.com
