[Shaggy] That's my pal.
Scooby-Dooby-Doo!
[instrumental music]
[eerie music]
Faster, Jimmy, you'll need all the extra stamina you can get
to win that tennis tournament.
Don't worry, Nick.
Finishing first at Wimbledon is my dream.
Hey, Nick! Look at this!
It's a staff of some kind.
fizz
Yeow! It's alive!
boom
I am the Warlock Anthos.
Free at last from my age-long sleep.
[growls]
I have returned to fulfill
my curse against the Pelton family.
Peltons! I am a Pelton.
Yes, the last of the Peltons.
[growls]
[Anthos] 'As long as you have my cursed'
'staff, you are doomed.'
Jimmy, get rid of it!
[Anthos] 'Ha ha! There is no escape.'
'You are doomed.'
[Velma] According to the guidebook, we aren't far
from the ancient Druid ruins of Rothmore.
With all this fog, how could anyone tell?
[Shaggy] Uh, Scoob and I have that situation well in hand, Fred.
- Uh, like, I mean, well in paw. - Right, Shaggy.
[Velma] 'I've heard of fog lights'
'but never dog lights.'
[Daphne] 'Hey, there's someone in the road! Look out!'
Hang on, everybody!
screech
[gulps]
[Velma] 'Jinkies! That was close!'
Come on down, Scoob!
Like, something's happening.

Please, we need help!
We were attacked by the Warlock Anthos.
Warlock?
Kind of like a magician, Scooby!
A-a magician!
[giggling] Like this?
No, Scoob. A warlock is like a wizard, but worse.
[screams]
Yikes!
Scooby!
I'm Jimmy Pelton
and this is my manager Nick Thomas.
Wow, you're the famous tennis star
playing in the finals at Wimbledon tomorrow.
Oh, boy! How exciting!
[howling]
[Shaggy] 'Like, that's quite a pad.'
[Jimmy] 'It was in my family for centuries'
'until bad luck forced its sale'
'and I just recently bought it back.'
L-like who's that?
Oh, that's John, the gatekeeper.
[gulps]
My housekeeper's pastries are smashing.
Now this should put some meat
on those skinny bones of yours.
- Like, thanks, Mrs. Warren. - Yeah, thanks!
slurp
Why would the Warlock Anthos show up now?
Perhaps the tea leaves can tell us something.
Give me your cup, Jimmy.
'Oh, I see danger!'
- Danger! - Danger!
Terrible danger!
[gulps]
Like, that's the worst kind.
[screams]
thud
[Anthos laughing]
Like, what's so funny, Scoob?
You will never be free
from the curse of Anthos.
'You are doomed.'
Saints preserve us!
[Anthos] 'Doomed.'
[Jimmy] 'It's the staff again.'
Come on, let's find him.
- Like, uh, let's not. - Yeah, let's not.
Like, someday we gotta
take a firm stand, Scoob.
'Oh, this creepy fog is thick as pea soup.'
slurp
slurp
Hmm!
Like, that's only an expression, Scoob.
It's not really pea soup.
Oh, no?
slurp
[John] 'Help! It's the devil's hound.'
'Help! Please!'
It's coming from the gatekeeper's house.
Lead us to it, Jimmy!
Wow, it looks like a hurricane hit this place.
Or a warlock.
The hound was here, alright.
Like, he is obviously not house-broken.
The gatekeeper. He's gone!
John!
Like, it looks like this is all is left of him.
[whining]
Hmm, this red mud could be a clue!
And these strange-looking paw prints
lead out to the front door.
Come on, we've got a trail to follow.
The prints stop here.
And the hound vanished into thin air
along with your gatekeeper.
He must be an evil spirit just like his master Anthos.
- 'Poor John!' - 'Hello!'
[Jimmy] 'It's Mr. Burgess. My solicitor.'
I say, what's going on?
- John has disappeared. - Without a trace.
Well, well, well, let's go back to the house
and you can tell me about it.
And so, Mr. Burgess, the warlock and his hound
cursed me and my estate.
Then the gatekeeper vanished.
Oh, dear me!
I always feared that this would happen.
It began in the ancient times.
Uh-oh! Like, I don't think I wanna hear this.
Me either.
[Burgess] 'The Anthos family'
'was accused of witchcraft'
'and the Peltons were responsible'
'for driving them off this land.'
'The Warlock Anthos cursed'
'the family and death soon'
'forced the Peltons to sell this estate.'
Until Jimmy bought the manor this year.
Using every farthing I had.
Is the spooky stuff over yet?
[Burgess] 'Uh, I am afraid I have'
'some bad news for you, Jimmy.'
Not yet.
Your finances are worst than we thought.
Unless you win the match tomorrow
'you won't be able to pay the mortgage'
'and you'll lose the house.'
Lose the house!
Huh, don't worry, old chap!
You're favored to win.
I'll see you there.
[chuckles] Like, I think it's over, Scoob.
Shaggy, get rid of this for Jimmy, will you?
Uh, sure thing, Fred. Here, Scooby.
I think there's more here than meets the eye, Jimmy
'and we're going to get to the bottom of it.'
We'll get rid of the staff in this pond.
Good idea!
splash
[Shaggy] 'Oh, boy. Like, that ought to keep that warlock'
'away for good.'
- Yikes! - It's the warlock!
I know, I know!
Yikes!
[both screaming]
Some additional practice tonight can't hurt, Jimmy.
I thought I told you guys to get rid of the staff.
Like, we tried, Fred, but he wouldn't let us.
- Unh-unh! - Who wouldn't let you?
- Him! - Him!
[laughing]
- Now listen here, Anthos. - No, Jimmy!
[growling]
[screams]
- Help! - Nick!
Oh, no! Like, he's got Nick now too!
Nick!
- Where are you? - Jimmy!
- Come back! - Jimmy!
Nick, he's vanished.
- Look! - 'The staff.'
And Jimmy's glasses.
It's lucky they weren't broken.
That's more than I can say for this thing.
[staff breaks]
[instrumental music]
Like, what are we doin' up here on a night like this?
This is where Jimmy first saw the warlock.
We might find the clue up here.
These ruins date back in time before anyone can remember.
- Creepy. - You can say that again Scooby.
Creep..
[laughs]
Look at the color of this mud.
It's just like the mud on the gatekeeper's boot.
It's the only place in the country
were it's this special color.
[hound howling]
- Uh-oh! - Uh-oh!
It sounds like it's coming from the manor.
Let's go!
The staff again, but I broke it!
[Velma] '"If you play tomorrow, it will mean your doom."'
First, my gatekeeper, then Nick
and it looks like I'm next.
I say, what has happened to Nick?
Like, the warlock and his four-footed fiend got him.
Yeah!
[growls]
Oh, the curse of Anthos
is just too dangerous to fight.
You can't play Wimbledon tomorrow, Jimmy.
That warlock won't scare me off.
I intend to play and win.
Good luck, Jimmy.
We'll be there as soon as we can.
Thanks, Velma, and be careful.
[engine revving]
What are we doing here again, Velma?
With the gatekeeper and Nick both missing
somebody's gotta keep looking for clues.
Why couldn't we look somewhere little less gloomy?
These ruins seem to be at the center of the mystery.
- Come on! - Nope! Nope! Nope!
Not this time. This time we put our foot down.
[screams]
thud
Shaggy! Scooby! Are you alright?
Like, I think so.
A secret chamber.
Wait, hang on, guys! I'm coming down!
Jinkies! This looks like a carpenter's workshop.
Complete with sawdust.
Like, why don't we leave before the carpenter gets back?
[Velma] 'No, I think we better check this out.'
I wonder what these wooden poles are for.
Like, they could sure use a vacuum cleaner
down here, aye, Scoob?
Aa-aa..
Thanks, Shaggy!
What's this!
"One pair spec lens."
This could be a clue.
[Shaggy] Look what Scooby's found.
Like, why would anyone want weird boots like these?
They wouldn't. Unless..
[Anthos laughing]
How nice of you to drop in.
Jinkies! Let's get out of here!
[sneezing]
You cannot escape
the wrath of Anthos.
[grunts]
[hound growling]
Quick, guys! Into the rowboat.
Like, you don't have to tell us twice.
- Row, Shaggy! - Taking orders from a dog.
If this ever gets out, my reputation sunk.
Uh-oh! Faster, guys! We've got company.
crunch crunch
[water splashing]
The warlock is falling behind.
Like, that's because there's water falling ahead!
[Velma] 'Hold on!'
[Shaggy] 'Cowards and children first.'

I don't know how we did it
but we've lost him.

Jimmy, what's wrong?
It's the warlock.
'Every where I look, I see him.'

[Daphne] 'Well, he's not there now!'
He's here I tell you, watching me.
[male announcer] 'Players, take your positions.'
I'm afraid the strain is

[snaps] Wait a minute!
Jinkies! That's it!
Thanks for my glasses, Velma.
Oh, uh, right, Jimmy!
Here they are.
Come on, Jimmy! You can do it!
[male announcer] 'And Jimmy Pelton is starting to make an amazing comeback.'
- Do you hear that, Scoob? - Yeah!
[hound growls]
Like, I heard your stomach growling, Scooby
but did you have to eat my hot dog too?
Not me, Shaggy!
[growling]
- Yikes! - Yikes!
[grunts]
screech
[Shaggy] 'Faster, Scoob!'
[door closes]
I'll find you two.
Ah!
thud
I say, old chap, like, pardon me!
[Scooby] 'Me too!'
[grunts]
[applauding]
Uh-oh!
[crowd cheering]
Shaggy, look!
[male announcer] 'And the championship doubles match'
'is ready to begin.'
Like, how's your backhand, Scoob?
[gulps] A little shaky.
[male announcer] 'Game-set and match points, Jimmy Pelton.'
One more point, and Jimmy is the champion!
Come on, Jimmy! Come on!
Come on, Jimmy!
[Anthos] 'Jimmy Pelton.'
The curse remains,
and you must lose.
You must lose.
[growls]
Keep going, Scooby!
Uh-oh!
[Scooby screaming]
[growling]
[Scooby-Doo] Help! Help!
Help! Help!
Hold on, Scooby-Doo!
[Scooby-Doo] 'Help!'
[male announcer] 'Come on, Pelton. Play ball.'
'A service ace.'
'Jimmy Pelton is the new'
'champion of Wimbledon.'
[cheering]
Oh, no! Look, the warlock's after Scooby.
[grunts]
[Scooby] 'Shaggy!'
Oh, no!
crash
slurp
[giggles]
Hmm, good!
It's the warlock and Devil Hound.
Woof.
[gasping]
And now to find out who's behind
the Warlock Anthos.
Nick! You were the warlock? But..
Follow me.
There's another warlock on the loose.
'Now, If I use the zoom lens, I should be able to..'
That's him! The one with the briefcase.
But, Velma, he doesn't even look like the warlock.
Oh, no? Just look through Jimmy's glasses.
Like, Zoinks! He looks like a warlock now.
Nick Thomas substituted these glasses for Jimmy's
when they fell off in the woods.
We have special lenses that
make it possible to see this normally
'invisible make-up which transforms'
'an ordinary-looking man into the warlock.'
That's right! This bill of sale I found
'was what clued me on to the trick.'
But if the warlock was a fake
how did his staff keep following me?
Simple! There was more than one staff.
'The two warlocks carved them in that secret workshop'
under the ruins.
But who is the other warlock?
He's John, the gatekeeper.
But how did you know?
The first clue to his identity was the red mud
'on the gatekeeper's boot'
'and the red mud is only found'
'near the ruins, which proved'
'he'd been there recently.'
And he wore the special boots
with the fake paws so we'd think
only the hound left his cottage.
But why, John?
I'm more than just your gatekeeper.
Nick and I are brothers.
We are descendants of the Warlock Anthos.
And we wanted Pelton Manor for our own.
When you lost the match
and the estate
we were going to buy it.
And the revenge of Anthos
would have been complete.
We would've succeeded if that
weren't for you, meddling kids.
Like, try these on for size, Scooby.
Yikes!
Like, what's the matter, Scoob?
You look like you've just seen a Devil Hound.
Scooby-Dooby-Doo!
