Got a package here for Professor Greer. Anybody home?

[Velma] 'We've got to be getting close'

'to Professor Greer's botanical gardens.'

Relax, Velma, we'll find it.

Here it is.

[Shaggy] 'Vulture's Claw Botanical Garden.'

Vulture's Claw?

Like, what kinda name is "Vulture's Claw?"

Take it easy, Shaggy, it's just a name.

Yeah, that's what they said about Transylvania.

Watch out!

[Daphne] 'That truck is heading right for us.'

[Fred] 'Hold on!'

Scooby, get back in here.

Stop the Mystery Machine, Fred.

I don't think so.

Vulture's Claw Botanical Garden.

That truck must have been coming from here.

[Daphne] 'Ooh, this is really creepy.'

[Velma] 'Somebody was in a awful hurry to get away from this place.'

Yeah, and I suggest we follow his example.

There are probably a lot of bugs in the garden.

Seven feet tall?

[growling]

Anybody got a 20 gallon can of bug spray?

Shaggy!

Yikes! Like, this is Endsville for sure.

It's Professor Greer.

Velma?

[Velma] 'We were in the neighborhood and just thought we'd drop in.'

Well, you must leave at once.

There's a creature loose in the garden.

The seven-foot bug, right, professor?

Come, we must inside. It's too dangerous out here.

Yikes!

[Shaggy] Hey, Scoob!

- 'Take it easy.' - 'Put me down. Hey!'

[Greer] 'I've been trying to catch the creature for weeks now.'

Or a Frankenstein movie.

Yeah, creepy.

This diary I found

indicates that someone made a fatal error in an experiment

and was changed into a Praying Mantis creature

like the insects he was studying.

Hmm, that's odd. There's only one entry in the diary.

Nothing before it, and nothing after it.

The change affected his mind.

That's understandable.

And the man is now a wild creature, preying on others.

And with that creature running loose

I think it be glad to sell, Professor Greer.

Nobody's is scaring me out, Dickerman.

Well, just remember, I'm willing to take the land off your hands

if things too hot for you.

[laughing]

Actually, I don't own the property yet

so, I couldn't sell if I wanted to.

'The deal hasn't gone through yet'

'but Dickerman only wants to tear down all the gardens'

'for a housing development or some such thing.'

And ruin all the natural beauty?

And unnatural creatures?

[Greer] 'Well, Nobody's scaring me off.'

But you'd all best go, first thing in the morning

'fore anything happens to you.

[Velma] 'We just can't go and leave Professor Greer'

'at the mercy of that creature that's running loose.'

Sure we can. And like he said, we should.

Let's get some shut eye and talk about it in morning.

Yeah.

- And scary. - Big and green and scary?

Okay.

There's no indication whose diary it is.

Fred, Wilma, we're being watched.

[books clattering]

Oh, hello. I'm Eric Arbie.

[Eric] 'The professor's assistant.'

Professor Greer didn't say anything about an assistant.

I ran away when this creature

began terrorizing Vulture's Claw.

'But I couldn't let him face it alone, so I came back to help.'

To hide, you mean. What are you doing down here?

The same thing you are, I guess. Checking things out.

Oh, maybe we can all work together.

[Shaggy] 'How did we get into this, Scoob?'

[growling]

Better yet, how do we get out of this, Scoob?

[low growl]

What was that?

Over there.

Like, I hate it when you point like that, Scoob.

[Scooby] 'A crocodile!'

Fred, Wilma, Daphne!

chomp chomp chomp

This equipment looks pretty suspicious to me.

A lot of it isn't even connected.

Help!

Help! Call this thing off, will you?

[Fred] 'Shag, Scooby!'

What are you two up to?

I'm up to here, Fred.

I've had it with creepy mansions

muddy tunnels, secret passages

'crocodiles snapping at my heels'

'and seven-foot insects scarin' me half to death.'

Ah, in fact, I don't think there's anything left

which could scare me right now, Fred.

[growling]

Oh, no!

Ha-ha-ha. Except that.

I'm gettin' out of here while I still can.

Eric, come back.

The Mantis is up there.

There's no sign of Eric.

Look on the bright side.

There's no sign of the Mantis either, huh?

Ha-ha-ha, ah-ha-ha, did you hear that, Daphne?

I said that.. Daphne?

The Mantis got Daphne. We've got to find her.

Hold on, Velma.

This place is a maze of corridors.

'We need Professor Greer's help.'

Professor Greer, wake up.

Yeah, wake up, wake up.

[mumbling]

What, what's going on?

The Mantis has taken Daphne. We need your help to find her.

[Shaggy] 'Hey, guys, over here.'

There's something moving around in the garden.

[Fred] 'Let's check it out. It could be The Mantis.'

I'll be with you, as soon as I change.

Okay, get ready to grab him. On three.

[Fred] 'One...two..'

Two and a quarter.

Two and a half.

Two and fifteen sixteens.

[Fred] Three!

[Shaggy] 'I got him, aah, I got him.'

[Scooby] 'It's got me, uh, it's got me.'

- Scooby? - Shaggy?

[Velma] 'Over here, guys.'

It's Dickerman, the real estate man.

Why don't you kids mind your business?

If somebody is trying to scare the professor away

that is our business.

[Fred] 'And why aren't you afraid of the creature, Mr. Dickerman?'

Hey, he got away.

[Shaggy] 'No, he didn't, Velma.'

I think he's hiding in here. Close in, Scoob.

[growling]

They've captured the Mantis.

Don't be so sure, Fred.

[Velma] 'I think, it's the other way around.'

Like, run, Scoob.

[growling]

[Fred] Quick, in to this old cabin.

Phew, that was close.

[knock on door]

Don't answer it. Trust me. I've been there.

[Velma] 'It's not the door.'

It's coming from his closet.

[door opens]

Daphne!

That Mantis brought me out here

to the caretaker's cabin and left me.

[door rattling]

[thunder rumbling]

So, you're still here, are you?

Well, I'm telling you for the last time, get out

and take the professor with ya.

Nobody's scaring us away, Mr. Keeble.

[teeth chattering]

Don't be so sure of that, Fred.

There's something strange going on around here, guys.

You're just starting to notice that, Velma?

[Fred] Velma's right, we've got some more investigating to do.

Look at the footprints, we've tracked across the floor.

It's a good thing my mother isn't here to see this.

But it's not mud, we're tracking in, it's oil.

[all] 'Oil?'

I'm sorry, I'm late. I couldn't find my coat.

That's okay, professor. We found Daphne and we found..

[growling]

It's the Mantis!

Run, everybody!

Come on, Velma, you heard the professor.

Wait a minute.

'This is all starting to make sense now.'

The only thing that makes sense to me is running.

Me, too.

[growling]

[both] The Mantis!

At least the professor's safe.

[Fred] Shaggy, plan 46.

Forty six? Which plan is that?

Plan 12? No, that's for Sea Monsters.

Plan 33? For ghosts..

- Forty four? - Forty six.

Yeah, yeah, here it is. Plan 46, for seven-foot insects.

Hurry, Shaggy.

Faster, Scoob.

clank

You did it!

thud

Like, hooray for us.

Yeah. hooray..

[Fred] Now to find out who this really is.

I'm betting on Harry Keeble.

[Keeble] 'It's not me.'

Well, then, it must be Clive Dickerman.

[Dickerman] 'It's not me, either.'

[Shaggy] Well then, it.. It.. It must be Eric Arbie.

Yeah. Eric..

[Eric] 'It isn't me.'

[in unison] Then, who is it?

I'll show you.

[in unison] 'Professor Greer?'

Right, that diary in the lab had only one entry.

Any serious scientist would've kept better records than that.

And the equipment wasn't even hooked up.

So, somebody obviously set up the lab as a cover.

Our next clue was in the entry hall.

Run, everybody.

[Velma] Professor Greer left oily footprints behind, telling us

that he had been outside, disguised as the creature.

But, we saw The Mantis outside the window?

[Fred] Just a cardboard cut-out on a pole, Shaggy

and the sounds were on tape.

But why?

That part was simple. Oil.

Dickerman knew it was on the property

and that's why he wanted to buy it.

Professor Greer found it when he took over Vulture's Garden

'and faked the creature to scare everyone off'

'until he could finalize the deal to buy the property.'

[Keeble] Well, I knew there was something fishy goin' on.

You mean, something buggy, don't you, Mr. Keeble?

Ha-ha-ha.

Hee-hee hee-hee.. Buggy..

Buggy?

Oh, I get it. Buggy!

Hee-hee-hee.. Ooh-hee-hee..
