[doorbell rings]

That could be for me.

- [Mom] Thank you.

- Is that birthday present for me?

Wow, a drum!

- But keep the noise down a bit.

Just until everyone else
has had a chance to wake up

for your birthday breakfast.

[chuckles]

- Hello.

Uncle Ziggy lives in Africa.

He's in charge of the safari park.

- Well, time we were off.

- Yes, we'll be late for
Zinnia's ballet lesson.

by giant woodpeckers.

- Well let's just hope
they've gone by the time

we go down for Zou's birthday.

[groaning]

- Bizou.

Zou!

- Yes, Mom?

- It's about time we
had some birthday cake.

Why won't you go and ask
Elzee to come around?

- All right!

- Zou.

Leave the drum behind, eh?

We wouldn't want it to
get lost on the way.

- Hmm, all right.

- We could hide it.

Perhaps not.

- Elzee's here, Dad!

- Oh, hello there, Elzee.

- I brought her around
to show her my drum.

- [Dad] Oh.

Oh good.

- Where's it gone?

- Hey Mom, brilliant cake.

- I'd quite like to have
bit more of a snooze, Zou.

Perhaps you could go and play
your drums somewhere else.

- Oh, all right.

Hey Grandma!

How would you like to
hear some expert drumming?

- Not just now, Zou.

- Oh.

- But perhaps you'd
like to do some baking.

We could make some chocolate cookies.

- No thanks, Grandma.

I need to practice my drumming.

- Yes, well, could you practice
somewhere else, please Zou?

- All right.

[gasps] I'll go and find Grandpa!

[knocking]

Hey Grandpa.

Would you like to hear
some really good drumming?

- Oh, yes, I would.

[laughing]

Grandpa.

- Pretty good drumming, Zou.

Perhaps I ought to join you.

- Have you got a drum too?

- Nope, I've got something
better than that.

Come along.

Now, I know it was around here somewhere.

Ah-ha, my old bugle.

Let's make some music.

- Oh.

- Zou.

- I know it's your birthday but.

- Put that trumpet of yours away.

- Zou.

Mom says can you keep
the noise down, please?

- Grandpa.

- Some people have no
ear for music, do they?

- Shh.

Nana.

- Hello Zou dear.

What that you making all
that noise earlier on?

- Yes, Uncle Ziggy sent me a
drum all the way from Africa,

but no one seems to like me playing it.

- Ah, I see.

Well, let's see what we
can do about that, eh?

[clock ticking]

[snoring]

[clock chiming]

- Oh.

- It's gone very quiet all of a sudden.

- Well, we did ask Zou
to keep it down a bit.

- I wonder where he's got to.

- Maybe he's upstairs with Nana.

[soft piano music]

[knocking]

- Oh, I'll get it, Nana.

- Zou?

We thought it had got a bit quiet.

You stopped playing your drums, Zou.

- No, I haven't.

Nana told me that you don't
need to make lots of noise

when you're playing the drums.

Sometimes it sounds lovely just like this.

- [Nana] Come over here, Zou dear.

[chuckling]

is on a mission to Mars.

I know, why don't we go
in a mission to Mars?

- All right, Zou.

We can go on a mission to Mars.

- Hooray!

Hooray!

[laughing]

- I just got eight more
flowers to draw first.

- Eight more flowers?

That'll take ages.

- I've got an idea.

What if you went on a mission to Mars

and did your study there, Elzee?

- That's a great idea, Grandpa.

I'm sure the rocks and flowers

will be much more interesting on Mars.

- Do you think so?

Hmm, where is the planet Mars?

- A long way away.

And we'll need a rocket ship to get there.

- But where are we going
to get a rocket ship from?

- From Grandpa's rocket ship workshop.

- [Both] Huh?

Cool.

[humming]

- Wow, this is going to be just

like Captain Zap's spaceship,
but there's something missing.

Hmm.

- Huh?

- Yes.

Wait, I know.

It hasn't got any rocket boosters.

Look.

- Well, let's see what we have
in rocket supplies, shall we?

[Poc tweeting]

Ah, here it is.

- Brilliant.

- Three rocket boosters.

- Well, it's a good start, Grandpa,

but everyone knows that
Captain Zap's rocket ship

has four rocket boosters.

- Well then, four must it be.

So I need you two to be
rocket ship engineers

and bring me back another rocket booster.

- Right you are, Grandpa.

- We'll find you one.

[Poc tweeting]

- A rocket booster?

Hm, I don't have any of those.

- Yes, you do, there.

- Ah, you mean this rocket booster?

I'm not sure you can have this one though.

It's still got a tiny of
washing up liquid in it.

- But it's for a very
important mission to Mars.

- And we'll be very, very careful with it.

- All right.

But make sure you bring it
back when you return to Earth.

- Thanks, Mom.

- Before you go, you haven't seen my vase

on one of your missions, have you?

- No, Mom.

- Hm, I'm sure it was on
the window sill earlier,

but now it's missing.

- We'll keep an eye out for you.

- And we'll let you know
if we see it on Mars.

- Here's the rocket booster, Grandpa.

- Perfect.

The Zebra 10 is ready for take-off.

- [Both] Hooray!

- But first, you'll
need some space helmets.

- Thanks, Grandpa.

- Thank you.

[buzzing]

- Zebra 10, ready for takeoff?

- Roger that.

- What do you mean roger that?

- It's what you say on a
spaceship when you mean yes.

- Oh, roger that.

- Okay then, fire all rockets.

Six, five, four.

Three, two, one.

We have liftoff!

- Ooh.

We're in space, Elzee.

- [Grandpa] Zebra 10,
you're coming in to land.

- Ready Elzee.

- Ready Zou.

- Hold on tight.

The Zebra 10 has landed.

- Hello.

- Greeting, I am Grandpa Martian.

- And I am Captain Zou.

- And I am Captain Elzee.

- Assistant Captain Elzee.

- I am here to show you my planet, Mars.

Welcome to the martian garden of zebras.

- [Elzee] Wow.

- Be careful you don't touch
the blue flowers, Earthlings.

They're a very rare and
mysterious martian plant.

And can make you turn blue.

- I'll make a note of
that in my captain's log.

- Assistant captain's log.

Wow, even the sky is orange.

Oh no.

One of our rocket boosters is missing.

We need all four to fly back.

- This is very strange.

First, your mom's vase goes missing

and now our rocket booster.

- It can't have gone far.

Let's look for it.

- [Zou] Look at this.

- It's a footprint.

- From an alien.

- They've taken our rocket booster.

But there's no one else here.

- They must've gone to
stock space station.

- Let's go.

- Wait for me.

Don't forget, I'm the captain.

- Where do we start, Captain Zou?

- Hm, I'm not sure.

A bubble?

- But where is it coming from?

- They're coming from the bathroom.

[humming]

- Oh hello.

Grandma Martian, you've got Mom's vase.

- Grandma Martian?

Oh, of course, yes.

I just thought I'd help Mom
out with the spring cleaning.

- And you've got our rocket booster.

- Oh, you mean this?

Well, it's empty now.

Do you want it?

- Yes please.

We can't fly back to Earth without it.

- Thank you.

- And when you get back to Earth,

can you give this to Mom for me?

- Roger that.

- Safe travels, Earthlings.

- Thanks, Grandpa Martian.
- Bye, Grandpa Martian.

- Three, two, one.

We have liftoff!

[giggling]

- [All] Hooray!

- Welcome back to Earth.

- But aren't you Grandpa Martian?

- Hm?

Oh, oops.

[laughing]

- Hi Grandpa.

- Hi everyone.

- Did you have a good time on Mars?

- It was great.

Grandma Martian took our rocket booster,

but we got it back.

And I'm just like Captain Zap now.

Oh!

And we found this for you, Mom.

- Thank you, Zou.

And it's nice and clean, too.

- And guess what?

I finished my captain's log.

- Assistant...

All right, Elzee, you can
call it the captain's log.

- Roger that, Captain Zou.
