Six Days in Evergreen (2026)

Post by bunniefuu »

[fans cheering]

[rhythmic clicking]

[cheering intensifies]

[instruments tuning]

[crowd cheering]

I open my eyes

And see you lie there

Quite and unaware

Of this cold world

Take your heart away

But still with every breath

You pull me closer

Not even knowing

Where this will go...

Great show, Farrah.

Great show.

- Keep up with me, Molly.

- As soon as you get changed,

I'll escort you

to the meet and greet.

No, I think I'm going

to skip that tonight.

Farrah, there's over

200 people registered.

I'm gonna paint a sign

You'll always know

That I am with you

Under the rainbow...

Rob wants make it quick

to be on the bus,

ready to go and on our way to

Kansas City by midnight.

Molly, if I say

I don't want

to do it, then it's

just not happening.

It's not every day a girl

gets to play

a sold out show in

her hometown.

Please, Ashley Simpson

could sell this place.

I'm gonna paint a sign

You'll always know

That I am with you

Under the rainbow

I'll pick you up

You're not alone

I'll be here with you

Under the rainbow

As long as I'm here

You will never

Be alone

[fans chanting]

Farrah! Farrah! Farrah!

Farrah! Farrah!

[chanting continues]

[cheering echoes]

- [knocking]

- I--

[man] It's me! Hey!

You were great out there

tonight, kid.

They loved you.

Good for me.

Can I just get a minute?

I need to just take a second.

Yeah, of course.

Sure.

Well, we are gonna need you

to decompress a little faster.

Cause everybody's dragging a*s

and the traffic's insane

and we just gotta get out

of dodge, Farrah.

What if we just skip

the meet and greet tonight

and we just head on

straight to Kansas?

Yeah, Molly said you

mentioned that.

I told her you must be talking

out the side of your mouth.

Who do you work for?

I work for management,

as you know.

And JB says under

no circumstances are you

to miss another

meet and greet.

So, I'm sorry.

I know your name

is on the marquee.

My job description is

embroidered over

what's left of

my tattered heart.

These are the tickets

we comped.

The venue wants to close out.

Then I'll be

out of your hair.

Why are so many tickets being

abandoned at will call?

I can't speak to that.

You might want to bring it up

with Molly.

This is what I'm talking about.

I mean, last year we were

selling sold out shows

at Mile High,

and now this place.

I mean, before you know it,

we're gonna be playing

matinees at the Mission Ballroom

in no time.

Beats playing rodeos in

Ding Dong, Texas,

let me tell ya.

- [chuckles]

- It's not funny.

Well, it's kind of funny.

You sign that thing?

You're a goddess.

You're a goddess,

you need to remember that.

I heard you.

Get your keister out there

so we can get out of here.

[man] It is said

that one in a million of us

will be lucky enough to

catch lightning in a bottle.

But for the man we're about

to present our next award to,

he has done it time

and time again.

A true pioneer in

the cosmetics industry

with a gracious heart.

Please give it up for

our Man of the Year recipient,

the one, the only,

William Henderson.

[music playing]

[applause]

[men chattering]

[music fades]

Wow.

This is some kind of an award.

When I first came to this

great town of Evergreen

with $30 in my pocket

and a beautiful woman

named June by my side,

I had a degree in design

and I had a passion to try

and create things

to help people feel

better about themselves

that would literally in turn,

create the opportunity for

others to see them in

a different way.

I dedicate this award

to all of those folks

along the way who said yes.

But especially to all

of those who said no.

Because they stoked the fire

in me to persevere.

I'd also like to dedicate this

to my brave, beautiful,

elegant wife, June.

My wonderful son

and business partner, Cameron.

I'd also like to dedicate this

to all of our great employees.

To all of you here tonight,

I truly appreciate it from

the bottom of my heart.

Thank you very much.

[music playing]

[applause]

Congratulations, William.

Appreciate it.

Thank you so much.

Give my best to your wife,

would you?

- I will.

- June, honey, this is us.

- Oh, good night!

- Okay, bye.

Cameron, Bethany,

thank you guys so much

for coming tonight.

Of course, William.

We're so proud of you.

- Oh, you're sweet.

- Hey, Cameron,

tomorrow morning early

for coffee and donuts?

Like old times?

Uh, yeah, sure.

We gotta lay the groundwork

for our new creation.

You brought this tonight?

- Really?

- Yep.

Aren't you lucky?

So, 8:00.

7:30, don't forget

the donuts.

Right. Bye.

[tense music]

I thought she was with you.

What? You want to start

a riot? Find her!

Who let these people back here?

Where is security?

[fan] Where's Farrah?

We paid for

meet and greet tickets.

Come on, we want

to see Farrah.

Don't worry, we will

make this up to you.

Uh, we made an announcement

at the velvet rope.

Sorry if you missed it.

We're gonna refund the cost

of the meet and greet.

So everybody's

gonna get their money back.

- [fans grumbling]

- The details will be

Farrah's website tonight.

Where's Farrah?

You know,

she took ill suddenly,

so she just can't make it.

Feels really bad about it.

Hopes to see you all

the next time

we come through town,

and said to tell you

safe home tonight.

Really sorry, folks.

Sweet dreams when they come.

[grumbling continues]

Really feel bad

about this, guys.

- Where is she?

- I have no idea.

Unbelievable.

[Bethany] So how does it

feel to be

the son of

the Man of the Year?

You know, it's no different,

actually.

Wow. Shocked.

I'm sure once it sinks in,

I will...

learn to cope.

[groans]

[horns blaring]

This traffic is horrible.

Are we just gonna

ignore the fact

that the traffic

is from her concert?

Ignore it?

I'd love to ignore the fact

that we're sitting

in dead stop traffic

because of her,

but I can't pretend we're not.

Oh, you're such a dork.

[horns blaring]

Honestly, I've never even

liked her music.

I don't get what

all the fuss is about.

Ah, you're in the minority.

Apparently so.

You know, screw this.

[horn blares]

- Cameron!

- [tires screech]

Oh, my...

- Oh, my God.

- Okay, I'll just sit.

[distant whistling]

[door closes]

[keys jingling]

[tense music]

[upbeat music]

[phone beeping]

Hey, I need you to come down

to the restaurant, now.

Yeah, I know it's 5:00

in the morning.

What could possibly be wrong?

Just get down here.

Hey.

What's up, man?

Are you okay?

Follow me.

- Wow.

- Uh-huh.

So that was Marie,

I thought I almost

ran her over last night.

Yeah, you should have.

- How'd she get in here?

- No idea.

I'm firing my security company

as soon as they open

this morning, that's for sure.

She screwed over

a lot of people.

Yeah, who you telling, bro?

It's... loaded.

It's a g*n, Cam.

All right, so what

do you want to do?

I...

Call the cops,

let them deal with it.

- All right.

- [Farrah] No...

Don't, Jake, don't do it.

Cameron, please...

It's alive.

[groans]

Oh, my God...

You think you can just show up

here passed out at my restaurant

and that's okay after

what you did?

[slurring] I just need

a little more time.

Just need some more time...

Look, man, just get her

out of here, all right?

I need to open in a few minutes.

Unless you want to be

found out, you should go.

My faithful staff will

be here in 20 minutes.

- Remember them?

- Why are you yelling so much?

You're being so loud...

Wait, wait.

I can't take her!

[rock music]

Uh...

Hey... hey.

You gotta call your manager,

or your handler,

or whoever the hell

wrangles you.

Get them to come pick you up.

Please, okay?

I can't believe that you still

have this old rust bucket.

You know, some of us

find it hard

to abandon things

things we love.

I guess I walked into

that one, didn't I?

[chuckles]

Come over here.

I need you to be very quiet.

[Farrah] You haven't

been being quiet.

Why do I have to be quiet?

Shh...

You can have a seat, okay?

Uh-oh.

- Hey.

- Hey.

I'm Farrah, nice to meet you.

You can call me Marie--

No, I know who you are.

Babe, can I talk to you

a minute?

Cameron,

what is she doing here?

I... do you want to sit down?

- No, no, I'll stand.

- I can explain.

What could you possibly say

that would make it okay

that you brought your

ex fianc into our house?

Huh? I'm waiting.

Right. Right, uh,

I know you're upset,

and justifiably.

I don't know, this is--

This is crazy.

- You think?

- Yeah.

Cameron, look, I know

that this is hard for you.

I could see that you were

a wreck last night,

and I get it, I just don't

understand why she's here now.

Yeah, uh, well,

Jake called me,

and he found her to passed out

at the restaurant

and he didn't know

who else to call, so she...

Oh, okay?

I don't know what's going on.

I just know she needs help.

Doesn't she have a mom in town?

A home, a hotel

somewhere else?

Yeah. Yeah.

I mean, I don't know.

I mean, it's complicated.

There's some...

I don't know.

Can you just give me to the end

of the day, honey, please,

so I can figure something out?

End of day, Cameron.

- Okay?

- Thank you.

End of day.

[phone vibrates]

[groans]

Ugh, babe?

Can I... I need another favor.

I gotta go meet my dad.

We're having donuts.

So, I won't--

I won't be long.

Can you watch her?

Are you on drugs or have you

just completely lost your mind?

[woman] Honey, breakfast.

[man] On my way, thanks.

Good morning, beautiful.

You look lovely.

Good morning.

Ah, today's paper.

Yes, Frank was kind enough

to drop it by after

walking Cisco.

Well, that's a nice way

of making peace.

Every time his dog craps

on our lawn.

He cleans up after it.

No coffee?

You're having coffee and donuts

with Cam this morning,

remember?

Oh, yeah, well,

I hope he doesn't forget.

I just texted him a reminder.

Well, this certainly explains

our son's demeanor

the last few days.

She'll always be the one

that got away.

What's it been now, eight years?

10, I think,

but who's counting?

Well, he's got to get over it.

I can't imagine how this must

make poor Bethany feel.

She and I have discussed it.

- And?

- She equates it to being with

someone who previously

had a spouse

that died unexpectedly.

Well, it's a very

mature attitude

but hardly the case.

William, our son is

marrying well.

You should be very happy.

Go easy on him today,

will you, please?

I will, I will, I will.

Yeah, see?

She probably won't even

wake up until I get back.

And when will that be, Cam?

Soon as I can.

You are the greatest woman

I've ever met.

Okay, just-- just go, Cam.

- You're late.

- I gotta get donuts.

Thank you.

God help me.

[man on phone]

Haven't heard anything

and now her voicemail is full.

Hang on, Roberto,

can you please explain to me

how you lost my client again?

You know, JB, rather than

focusing on how it happened,

I suggest we focus on

finding her

and getting her to Kansas City

in time for the show tonight.

I'm hearing you

loud and clear, brother.

My question to you now is how.

It happened in

the middle of the night.

We've been up pretty much all

friggin' night, man.

We called every emergency room,

Chuck checked all

the urgent cares.

we've done what we can.

Yeah, and then what, Rob?

And then we were glad

that hopefully

nothing terrible has

happened and she'll show up.

I mean, the label's breathing

down my neck here, man.

Okay, if they get wind

of her being MIA,

that's going to seal her fate,

do I have to explain to you

how that looks if

that's the case?

That's between you

and the label, brother.

My job is to get her to KC

and on that stage.

Okay, look, look,

it's a festival, okay,

it's a festival.

If she's a no-show, it's not

the end of the world, all right?

Okay, now, I'm hearing you

say you're gonna make

that phone call,

and I really appreciate it--

You find the client,

I'm gonna make the call.

I'll get a lay of the land,

and we'll see if

we can find her.

I called in a few favors.

Don't worry,

they'll be discreet.

The last thing we need is media

getting wind of this.

Can you spell "disaster?"

- Hey.

- Hey.

What's the good word, my friend?

The good word is JB's getting

a ride to the show tonight.

- Thank goodness.

- Yeah, yeah, thank goodness.

Bought us one day.

I can't believe

this is happening.

What about the comps,

that list,

family and friends?

Anybody on there that she

could be hiding out with?

I just turned it into the venue

and if I recall,

it was just charities

and local radio.

She added her mom

at the last minute.

- Her mom?

- She didn't come.

- Her mom didn't come?

- No.

Well, maybe that explains

the way she was feeling.

We'll reach out to her mom,

see if she knows something.

I mean, she can't have

gotten far, right?

[tense music]

Oh...

Are you gonna be sick?

Yeah...

- Got a bathroom?

- To the left.

The other left.

[Farrah retching]

Or... in the guest bedroom.

Wow, Cam owes me.

You all right, son?

Yeah, why?

I just know that

Marie's in town.

It's been all over the news.

The concert last night.

Heck, some of the employees

have her T-shirt on.

I noticed that.

I would imagine that gets you

a little distracted.

I'm fine.

If there's one thing

that I've learned

over the last ten years,

it's that Marie

is not the one for me.

Well, I'm glad to hear

you say that, son.

It's taken quite a long time

for you to get there.

Well, yeah.

I just want you to know

that I'm here

if you want to talk.

Okay, I'm fine, really.

Good, keep your head up

and in the game

you'll be golden.

[machinery whirring]

[William] Always gonna be

a thousand distractions, son.

I hope you keep your eye

on the prize,

because this is going to

be all yours one day,

if you so choose.

Hello, ladies.

There's a lot of gold here,

but it's up to you.

Good to see you both.

I wanted to show you

the adjustments we made

based on our meeting last week.

Good, good, good, good.

What's important is

that we don't throttle

back on production.

I'd rather be overstocked now

than to have to deal with

any shortages down the road

in case we hit a snag in

the supply chain.

I'll make sure your request

is noted, sir.

Why do I detect some

hesitancy here, Sal?

Well, I'm concerned about

storage, Mr. Henderson.

We have no room

for any overstock.

But...

We had an idea.

Son, I'm not sure where

you're going with this,

because I don't think

we have any room--

All the room we need

is right here.

This ought to be good.

This, all of this product

is ten years old.

We should trash it.

Maybe we'll donate it to some

beauty schools of our choosing,

or send it off to

a developing country.

Dad, if this hasn't turned

to cement already,

you wouldn't wanna be

putting it on your skin.

All right, fine.

Why don't you hop down?

We gotta get over to

the photo sh**t.

That's... today?

Yes, son, now,

you made the schedule.

Right.

Okay, I'm gonna go meet

Bethany real quick,

and I'll meet you there, okay?

Don't be late.

All right.

[eggs clattering]

Are those eggs?

Must've taken on some local

fire last night.

Are people that angry about

not getting a meet and greet?

Poor girl, just goes

and goes and goes.

Part of me wants

the girl to stay gone.

I'm worried about the burnout.

The machine doesn't care.

They'll work her to death.

I seen it a million times.

Chuck, you've known

Farrah longer than me.

I get that this is home,

but what skeletons could she

possibly have here?

And why didn't her own

mother come to the show?

I've worked for a lot

of powerful people,

and the one thing

I've learned is

most of them have skeletons

wherever they go.

I gotta clean this up.

I'm sorry.

What exactly are you

sorry for, Farrah?

Marie. You can call me Marie.

I just didn't--

I didn't know

Cam had a roommate, so...

I'm his fianc, Farrah,

not his roommate.

Congratulations.

Thank you so much.

[sighs]

Everybody is trying

to find me right now.

I'm sure they are.

Do you think that

maybe you could, um,

whip up, like, a little

breakfast or something...

- You want me to cook for you?

- ...so hungry right now.

- For both of us.

- No, no, no.

I have to leave the second

that Cam gets back.

I have to go to work,

so maybe he can, I don't know,

swing by, pick you up something

when he drops you off.

I can't wait, I'm just

really hungry right now.

And it's weird,

I'm nauseous,

but nauseous now because I don't

have anything in my stomach.

Do you know what I mean?

Have you ever had that happen?

No.

I feel like I could throw up.

- I think I just got...

- All right.

Threatening throw up.

You know what?

That'll do it.

If you have poached eggs

or anything,

would be great.

Is that Cam's guitar

over here?

- Yep.

- Do you mind

if I take Cam's guitar out?

I-- I would mind.

Please don't do that.

No.

[sniffs]

[tuning]

Hope you like PB&J.

Who doesn't like

peanut butter and jelly?

That is my favorite.

Thank you so much.

W-- What are you doing?

- Thank you, Beth.

- It's-- it's Bethany.

And I'm gonna need to take

that away from you...

- This organic?

- I'm gonna take this awa--

What are you doing?

You're taking the guitar?

You can't play Cameron's guitar.

I have always played

Cameron's guitar.

Well, that was then.

Just eat your sandwich.

This is very dry.

Do you have some juice

or something?

- Lord, help me...

- Green juice?

Hey.

Oh, thank God!

I will talk to you later,

all right?

- Okay.

- And, um,

it was a pleasure

meeting you, Farrah.

Marie. You, too, Beth.

Thank you so much for this

wonderful breakfast.

Bye, Beth.

What did you do?

What did I do?

Oh, I don't know.

I've just been hanging out

with your fianc, Cam.

Why didn't you tell me

that you had a fianc?

- I mean...

- It's none of your concern.

I think I would have led

with that, Cam.

Hey, I didn't plan on

bringing you home.

- Right.

- Right.

- What?

- You touched my guitar?

Yeah, I touched your guitar.

What is everybody's problem

with me touching your guitar?

Have you touched

your guitar?

'Cause it's very

out of tune right now.

Play one song.

Just play one song before

you put it away.

I just want to--

Come on, just like when we...

No.

You sober? You good?

- Fine.

- You got enough to eat?

Yeah, I got this great peanut

butter and jelly sandwich.

You should really try it.

I love peanut butter

and jelly sandwiches.

She really knows how to

knock it out of the park.

She's gonna make an amazing mom.

Yeah, she will.

But we might want

to give it a minute.

Make sure there's

no arsenic in it.

[spits]

[laughing]

What if I died from this?

[laughter]

That would be a way to go.

We always laugh together, Cam.

I miss that.

Glad I could be

your comic relief.

- Um, I gotta go.

- Where?

I got a photo sh**t to get to.

Okay, GQ. What, are you

like, a photographer now?

- What's going on?

- I work for my dad now.

Oh.

I'm vice president

of the company.

Oh, wow. Sorry.

He always hated me.

Never good enough for his son.

- That's not true--

- That's very true.

Remember the Evergreen Ball?

He wanted you to take

anyone but me.

You were being flaky.

What'd you think,

I was gonna stand you up?

Well, you did have

a tendency to do that.

Yeah...

Look, just finish

the sandwich.

I'm gonna call your assistant.

I'm sure they're worried

sick about you.

- I'm sorry.

- They'll come and get you.

What is it?

I just can't right now.

I don't--

It's too soon.

I need-- I need more time.

Time for what, exactly?

I'm just struggling

right now, Cam.

I'm struggling because

I can't write,

and they want songs,

and I don't have any songs.

I'm sure it's just

a momentary block.

- It happens to everybody.

- I know, but it's different.

It's different now.

Something's wrong.

Please.

Oh, God.

Look, I gotta go.

- I'm gonna come.

- I gotta go.

- Let me come.

- Bethany will give you a ri--

I'm not gonna be here

when she gets back.

- She hates me.

- She doesn't have

a hateful bone in her body.

It's in her eyes,

and in her sandwiches.

[hair dryer blowing]

So without any discussion,

my sorry excuse

for a husband goes out and buys

a brand new

yellow convertible.

I mean, the nerve!

It just screams

midlife crisis.

So what are you going to do?

What any smart woman would.

I got a gym membership

and a handsome new trainer.

- [laughter]

- [woman] You!

Look what you did to my hair!

Does this look normal to you?

To any of you?

Mrs. Betancourt,

let me take a look.

- Come on.

- Yes, please do.

Oh, I'm so sorry that

this happened to you.

Here, take a seat.

Don't you vet your workers

before you hire?

Of course, btu this was

a simple accident,

and an easy fix.

Have a seat.

You know, I actually

kind of like the green.

It's different,

and it definitely

makes your blue eyes pop, huh?

- Hmm.

- And a lot of kids these days

are running around with

the multicolored highlights.

But I'm happy to fix it,

and I'm gonna throw in

a complimentary spa package

for your trouble, okay?

And I know how busy

your social life is

so we better get to work, huh?

Okay. Call me Judy.

All right, Judy.

Let me get this

fixed up for you.

- Do it.

- Okay.

I hit the bottle

pretty hard last night

Again

I hit the bottle

pretty hard last night...

I hit the bottle

so hard...

- Pull over.

- No.

Yes, pull over.

- What, are you sick?

- Like, five minutes.

No, this is our favorite spot.

No, Marie, I gotta get

to the photo sh**t.

Just stop being such

a grandpa, let's go.

Marie, no.

What are you doing?

- Close the door.

- Whoa!

Ah! sh*t, God!

- Okay, okay.

- Stop the car!

[overlapping laughter]

You can't jump out

of a moving car!

[laughter]

No, I can't hang out.

You said just to drive by.

Oh, my God.

I love this place!

Oh, my God, I missed

this place so much.

Cam, do you remember

when we wrote the song?

You know the song

I'm talking about...

- Of course.

- Yeah.

Look, I have to be at

a photo sh**t, like,

What are you doing?

Of course you don't care

whatever anyone else

might have to do.

Why did you stop playing, Cam?

When we bought your guitar,

we saved up like...

like we were saving up

to start a family.

So why did you stop?

[scoffs]

I better go.

Are we okay?

I'm gonna need you to stay

in the car.

I don't know how long

I'm gonna be,

but please,

just stay in the car.

Why do you guys insist on

treating me like a child?

[scoffs] Really?

Can you leave me the keys,

though, for the air?

No.

No?

It's hot.

Our days disappear

Shadows living in

the walls

I don't mean

to wear you out

Make you trip...

Mmm, minty.

Once upon a time I knew

Once upon a time

with you

Once upon a time I need...

You still have this.

Soon come in

the stars tonight

Drowning in between

my dreams

You ask me

if I'm all right

Live beyond...

sh*t.

Beautiful! Good!

That's it! Keep that smile.

Make the love to the camera.

The love, that's it.

Lean on in like you love me.

That's it.

Mwah, beautiful!

Beautiful, okay,

little closer, closer.

About the things

that you want

Change your life

change the world

'Cause one day

you'll be gone

Will you do what

you've always done?

Or will you try

Something new?

Yeah, yeah, yeah

Yeah, yeah

Yeah, yeah, yeah

Yeah, yeah

Are you as constant...

Farrah? I'm so sorry.

Could I please have a quick

picture with you?

I love you so much.

I promise you, really quick.

It'll be so quick.

I promise.

[muttering]

Just...

Just promise me that

you don't post this.

Oh, of course.

Of course I won't.

Okay, I'm just not

supposed to be here.

Mmm, I got you, I got you,

I got you.

Thank you so much.

I love you.

sh*t.

Beautiful! Come closer!

Closer, like you love me!

Somebody want to kiss me?

You guys, Farrah Marks

is here.

Yeah, she's upstairs.

She just got here.

I swear! I swear!

[excited chatter]

Excuse me?

What is the commotion?

- I'm working here.

- I'm so sorry,

but Farrah Marks is here.

- Farrah Marks the singer?

- Oh, my God, yeah.

I love her, I was just

at her concert last night.

Girl, I was at her concert

last night!

Can we get her in the picture?

- You have budget...

- Marie? Is here?

And the advertiser,

you got the money, the budget?

[excited chatter]

A word. Now.

Okay, good, Cam, Cam,

get her down here.

We put her here.

Right here...

What the hell

were you thinking?

I wasn't.

- Mmm, clearly.

- She needed help.

She needed help,

and you brought her here?

I mean, I didn't bring her.

She was supposed

to stay in the car.

And you just trusted

that she would?

It's not-- I mean,

it's not that big a deal.

No, it is a big deal, Cameron.

This is a business.

This is business that--

Just go take care of it, okay?

Okay.

I can finish

the photo sh**t.

Now!

Okay.

How'd the photo sh**t go?

[Rob] So when is she coming?

Well...

"Well, well," well, what?

I got to text JB and update him.

I need more than

"she texted Molly."

Well, I'm sorry, Rob, that's all

I've got for you right now.

Well, next time,

you might ask her,

anything.

Amazing.

[tense music]

I asked you to do one thing.

And what did you do?

You came in.

I asked you not to come in,

and you came in

and you disrupted

the photo sh**t.

The models were really pretty.

Shut up, Marie.

Shut up.

So what--

what are you doing?

What do you mean

what am I doing?

What are you doing?

Why are you here?

Te-- ten years,

without a word,

and you just show up

like this was--

This was--

Like nothing happened?

Like it was yesterday.

And it's fine?

You just disappeared!

You didn't even call!

You didn't tell me anything.

I thought you were dead.

Dead.

And then I had

to pretend you were.

I had an opportunity,

and it got me out of this--

the lowest point in

my entire life.

You just escaped.

You abandoned me to go chase

your life somewhere?

You promised a life with me.

- It's not all about you.

- What'd you think?

That I would just get over it?

Somehow I'd have

bragging rights that

I was once engaged

to Farrah Marks?

I don't even know who that is.

And now you're back here,

in less than 12 hours--

Marie, look at me,

less than 12 hours,

what do you do?

You've broken into a restaurant,

disrupted my home life,

and you insulted my fianc,

and now ruined my photo sh**t.

What is wrong with you?

I don't understand.

Do you know?

Really, what is

wrong with you?

I don't know, Cam.

[sobbing]

Okay, I don't know!

I couldn't face you.

I couldn't face anybody.

I hate my life.

I can't sleep.

I have nightmares.

My last album was a flop.

And every single venue just

gets smaller and smaller,

and it's like I'm in

this machine,

and nobody comes to help me.

I need rescuing!

I need it...

[hyperventilating]

Okay, it's enough.

I can't breathe.

All right.

It's okay. It's okay.

Hey, hey, hey,

you're a great writer.

You're gonna get through this.

I think you just need to--

to look at those demons.

Engage with those regrets.

You know that's where

it comes from.

Please help me.

Help me write.

Come on, let's go.

[crying]

You're crazy making.

[phone vibrating]

- Hiya, Rob.

- Don't you "hiya" me.

We've been worried sick.

Where are you?

I came to see an old friend.

Uh, I'm just gonna

hang out here

for a couple days, regroup.

You need to regroup?

Farrah, you're in

the music business.

You're on tour, you regroup

when it's done.

Listen, Rob, I know that

you have a job to do,

and so do I, but I have songs

that I have to write.

You know that I suck at

writing music on the road,

so I just need

a little bit of time.

Just cancel my show tonight

and I can spend that time here

and find the magic.

JB already pulled you out

of the festival.

Perfect, then it's settled then.

Then I'll just, I'll be here.

I'll work on my songs

before Tulsa.

Okay, we're gonna

trust you to do that.

Text me where you are,

and I'll send Molly

with your stuff.

Um, I don't know.

Well, I mean,

I haven't really--

You don't know where you're

staying, Farrah?

I didn't say that.

I just don't have

the address on hand.

Do you have any idea

what the media will do to you

when they find out you

pulled out of a show

and you're wandering

around Evergreen?

We are coming to get you.

Find her location on that

stupid app you always use

and get a rental car ASAP.

Let me just explain to you,

my dude, you're not in charge.

I am responsible for

your whereabouts,

and you are not going

to withhold them from me.

Rob, relax.

I will text Molly

the address.

- You better do that.

- Send me your location,

and I'll be there soon.

Do not move.

Do not run around again.

I'm not playing.

Bye.

They need an address.

I need to know where

you're taking me.

[William]

Can you believe our son?

I, I'm just surprised

he didn't think

he could call and tell me.

He always loses his senses

around that girl.

She's just trouble for him.

Honey, she's not that bad.

Yeah, you've always had

a soft spot for her.

I'm surprised you don't.

She lost her father.

I'm sure she blames herself.

I don't think she's ever

gonna get over that.

She was this way

before the accident.

I don't know.

I just see a lot of

myself in her.

Geez, I cannot believe

you got that thing

in the garage.

Cam, seriously, though,

but really, like, hear me out.

You won't even know

that I'm here.

Honestly, it'll be like

a spa night for you.

- One night.

- Yes.

Hey, babe, did you find a place

to drop off your crazy--

- Hello!

- Ex.

- What's up, Beth?

- I... I don't know.

Babe!

Babe, babe, babe.

I know you are ready

to explode.

- Mm-hmm.

- I wanted to call you...

Cameron, I already heard you

this morning.

I heard you this afternoon.

I don't really want

to hear anything else.

Yeah, but she literally

broke down

and cried in

the middle of the road.

Oh, really?

- Why are you telling me this?

- Well, I don't know.

She's having a nervous

breakdown or something

and I couldn't in good

conscience just send her away.

You know what? You're right.

You can't because

you're too close.

- But I can.

- No, no.

Whoa, whoa, whoa.

With the media trolls and

the paparazzi lurking around,

I'm afraid if she

gets found out,

that's what's gonna break her.

Cameron, there are plenty

of hotels she could stay at.

- Farrah.

- Yeah.

Okay, we need to talk

about this.

- There's no...

- What's all this?

- Here, here...

- Thank you.

- All right.

- You must be Cam.

Oh, Molly, why did you

bring this?

I didn't want this.

Well, somebody knows you

like sunflowers.

Also, this is Cam's new--

New fianc, Beth.

- Bethany.

- Thany.

- Oh, hi.

- Hi.

I'm Molly,

Farrah's assistant.

- Nice to meet you.

- She asked me to bring

a few things over for her stay.

Yeah, this will probably

be enough for now.

Yeah, Bethany, I just

want to thank you for

letting me stay

for the next few days.

- I really do appreciate...

- No, no, no.

Don't throw these

away, actually...

- One, no, I said one, one day.

- Yeah, so let's talk--

[doorbell rings]

Oh, that's the food

- I ordered, thank God--

- I'll get it, please.

Just stay seated, princess.

[overlapping chatter]

I just thought I should get

something for all of us to eat.

Just pull my weight

a little bit.

But otherwise

we're eating fish sticks

and tater tots for dinner.

"Pull your weight"?

Guess what that is.

Oh, Mediterranean.

- Yeah.

- My favorite.

- It is your favorite.

- Great.

I'm gonna get a drink.

Did you get chicken shawarma?

You know it.

That's one of our favorites.

You're gonna really enjoy that.

It's a new recipe.

Oh, sorry, excuse me

one second there.

- Hey.

- Hey.

How you doing?

How you doing?

Great.

Yeah, returning to

the scene of the crime.

I mean, am I seeing things?

I mean, did I die

and go to hell?

Why is she back here?

Marie,

explain to Jake

why you're back here.

Jake, I just wanted to say

thank you for not calling

the cops this morning.

It was not my finest hour.

No, it wasn't.

You can thank your boy

Cameron for that.

Farrah, I was at

your show last night!

- No...

- I'm your biggest fan.

- Can I get a selfie?

- Let's go back to...

Farrah, can I get...

[overlapping shouting]

- You guys getting dinner?

- Just dessert.

Please, please, please.

Thank you. Sorry.

Thank you.

You handled that situation

really well.

Yeah, yeah, no worries.

No worries.

We have celebrities

come through, so.

I'm Jake.

Molly, Farrah's assistant.

Oh, nice to meet you, Molly.

Nice to meet you.

Long way down that road

And there's no place

to hide

From this pain

that's inside...

No, I mean...

[humming]

Stop talking.

[whispering]

Hey, hey, hey, girls.

I'm gonna go say goodbye

to Jake for a second.

- Hey...

- Hey.

[whispering]

Bro, what am I doing?

Yeah, I-- I don't know.

Never mind.

Hey, thank you.

- Thank you for that.

- Yeah, man, no sweat.

Hey, does your, um,

does your dad still

have connections

with Blackridge Investments?

Yeah, sure, why?

They're kicking me out.

You know, the rent

keeps escalating, I...

I can't keep up.

They want to change this complex

to a fulfillment center

or something crazy.

- Can they do that?

- They own the building.

That's why I want to talk

to your dad or his attorney,

see what legal rights I have.

Yeah, absolutely.

I'll talk to him tomorrow.

- Yeah?

- Get back to you for sure.

- Thanks.

- Absolutely.

Hey, Cam, we gotta

get out of here.

Baby needs to get to bed.

Woman of the Year right there.

- See? Thank you.

- You see?

He's not lying.

How you holding up

with Hurricane Marie?

Did he tell you that

the hurricane's

staying with us

for a couple days?

You serious, bro?

Do they not have hotels?

Exactly, that's exactly

what I said.

Yeah, you're not helping.

Neither are you.

Well, hey, man,

I'll talk to my dad

tomorrow for sure

and get back to you.

What's going on?

What's that about?

It's-- I'll explain

when we get home.

- Okay.

- Hey, hang in there.

It's only temporary.

Pray for me, Jake.

All right, let's get

out of here.

Actually, I might stay

and have a nightcap

at the bar,

if that's okay?

Sure, yeah.

Have a good night, you guys.

- Hi.

- Hi.

- How are you doing?

- Pretty good now.

Good.

- What can I get you?

- Surprise me.

[Farrah] So,

what's going on with Jake?

Seems serious.

I-- if he wanted you

to know, he'd tell you.

I just want to help.

Why do you always insist

on inserting yourself

into everybody else's affairs?

- Why?

- I'm just trying to help.

- Help with what?

- I-- well, you've got...

[overlapping arguing]

Just help by minding

your own business.

- I'm asking simple question.

- Stop.

You mind your own business

and let's stop talking.

Let's get in the car, please.

Shotgun.

Oh, no.

[June] Race to the top.

[chuckling]

You are out of shape,

young man.

A good son always

lets his mother away.

[chuckles]

I raised you right.

[sighs]

Did I ever tell you about

my first love?

So you heard

Marie's in town.

Nick Watkins.

We were madly in love.

All through high school.

- Mm-hmm.

- We were the couple,

I'll have you know.

We were going to get married.

I was a year older.

Mama cougar.

I hardly think

a year qualifies.

Anyway, my parents hated him.

He was an actor.

We both were.

But Nick was always more serious

about it than I ever was.

You wanted to be an actress?

Don't look so shocked.

I did have a life before

you and your brother.

Anyway, I went away

to college.

Nick was now a senior,

and we tried to make it work.

And then I met your father.

There was something

about your dad

that made me feel

safe and secure.

And I never felt

like that with Nick.

We always threw caution

to the wind,

and it just was not

a great look for a grown up.

Well, don't keep me

in suspense.

What happened with Nick?

Things just kind of worked

themselves out.

Nick got an opportunity

to audition for a musical

for a traveling theater company

and he took it.

I loved the way

my life turned out.

I never once questioned that

I made the right choice.

I love your dad with

my whole heart.

But I still stay

in touch with Nick.

Wait, is this a confession?

Does Dad know?

We don't keep secrets.

Things are going to work out.

You just have to be careful.

This is really dangerous

territory for you, honey.

I know you still carry

a torch for Marie.

Mom, I love Bethany.

She makes me feel

safe and secure.

Well, you have to know

how hard this must

be for Bethany.

For both of them.

So you have to handle

things with care

because you're the one that

controls what happens here.

You just have

to make wise choices.

Can't believe you wanted

to be an actress.

[laughs]

Next Friday we have

Good Morning, Tulsa,

and then Wake Up, Tulsa.

So I was thinking we should

be at the fitting

around 1:00.

Mm-hmm, yeah.

She's doing fine,

working hard.

I called her publicist,

asked her to pass you along

any additional press.

- [playing guitar]

- So you should have it.

I think that covers

everything, JB.

I think that's it,

we're good.

Oh, I didn't know that.

[mouthing] Hey. Hey.

He wants to talk.

- No.

- Yeah...

Let me put you on speaker.

Go ahead, JB.

How's it going, superstar?

Talk to me.

Oh, I'm doing so good.

Got so much new music,

I can't wait for you to listen.

Oh, I'm glad it's going well.

I can't wait to hear what

you got, okay?

- Mm-hmm.

- Molly says

you're all set for Friday.

I get to Tulsa on Thursday.

Okay, your sound check

is Friday at 4:00.

You cannot be late on this one,

all right?

Nope, I got it.

We are ready to roll.

- That's my girl.

- Okay, well,

we really gotta go,

I gotta keep working,

keep writing music,

so, love you,

talk to you later, bye.

Bye.

- Ouch!

- I told you, I don't--

What do you want me to do?

Well, I said don't tell him--

Tell him I'm in

the bathroom!

[overlapping arguing]

[arguing, laughing]

You have to talk to anybody,

that's your job.

You get it?

Job description,

to, like, deal with

all that sh*t...

What the hell is happening here?

- We're working.

- Obviously.

What are you,

the Queen of Sheba?

You should be working,

and you should be making sure

she works.

Yeah, yeah.

[laughter]

Okay, all right, listen,

I have to change.

I'm going, I'm taking Bethany

out to dinner.

"Ooh, that's nice."

Well, don't worry about us,

we're good, me and Mol,

we're gonna do our own thing.

Just like, you know,

crush this town.

Actually, I have plans tonight.

Jake asked me to go to dinner

and salsa dancing.

- How cool is that?

- That's not salsa dancing.

- I don't know what it is.

- And you can't.

- Hey, a little more.

- You'll be done early.

No, that's not ready yet.

I'm serious.

Okay, well, how about...

Midnight Rhapsody?

That okay?

- Okay.

- Uh-huh.

Yeah, I don't know the melody,

but I like the chorus.

And how about this

for the opening?

Yeah.

I'm... can you clean

this stuff up?

I gotta get ready for

Bethany before she gets home.

Time is what we make of it

Open minds embracing it

- Overflowing...

- [doorbell rings]

Feelings for you...

So, let's take a ride

- I'll get it.

- No, I'll get it.

Last time I checked,

it was still my house.

The damn inmates

are running the asylum.

Hi, how can I help you?

I'm here for Molly Ellis.

Of course you are.

Your car is here.

Why does she have a car?

She's supposed to be laying low.

- Because she wanted one.

- Oh.

So whatever Lola wants,

Lola gets, huh?

Yeah, pretty much.

I'm just right over here,

you guys, I can hear you.

Whoa, is that Farrah Marks?

- No.

- No.

Thank you very much.

I'm gonna be out of your hair

very soon, I promise.

You sound like

you actually mean that.

Cameron.

Oh, you clean up well.

- Whose keys are those?

- Oh, those are mine.

Just got a rental car,

so I can get around.

I don't really think

that's a good idea.

I said the same thing.

- You want to drive me around?

- Uh, you know what?

You girls do whatever

it is you want to do.

- Let's go.

- Please.

- All right.

- Bye bye.

You should really work on that

song called A Little More.

It's not that good.

That's a hit in the making.

You know what you have to do,

so do it.

You can move on.

I've been running

from my past

But I'll never get away

The love I've lost,

the hearts I've crushed

They haunt me every day

When I look

at my reflection

I don't know the girl

I see

I can't go on

This way

I can't go on

This way

I can't go on

This way

Can't go on...

[upbeat music playing]

Ah, there we go.

Thank you.

And thank you for being

so understanding.

I promise I was

planning on taking you

to a different restaurant.

And then to come here

to dance.

I know what it's like when work

pulls you in

ten different directions.

From you, that means a lot.

I know all too well what

it's like to deal with Marie.

It's funny hearing people

call her Marie.

It takes some getting used to.

Either way, she's a handful.

She's not really.

I think people are used

to seeing the celebrity side

of Farrah-- Marie,

and not her heart.

It's neither here nor there.

She's lucky to have you

in her corner.

When I first started

working for Farrah,

my grandmother had a stroke.

And she's okay now, thank God,

it wasn't as bad as

we initially thought,

but Farrah arranged for me

to fly home.

She paid my salary,

sent all sorts of things to

her house for rehab.

And when I asked her about it,

she said it was from

the record label.

But when I reached out

to thank them,

they had no clue

what I was talking about.

Marie did it.

She's true blue,

loves to the core.

Just doesn't always

express it well.

At least I don't think she does.

Whatever is going on

between you two,

maybe you can talk it out,

and make amends.

She speaks really highly

of having worked here.

I appreciate you

sharing your story.

Thank you.

[whispering]

Would you teach me how to dance?

Because I'm horrible.

You want me to teach you?

Yes.

I'm excited to see that.

[laughter]

[phone vibrating]

[vibrating stops]

[doorbell]

[Farrah] Oh, my God.

- Please stop.

- [ringing, knocking]

God. I'm coming.

I'm coming.

Hold your horses.

Jesus.

Where is she?

I don't know, probably sleeping

like the rest of the world.

- [JB yelling on phone]

- Yeah, I'm going

in there now, JB,

I've got it.

Get up! Get up!

- Get outta here.

- Get up!

- Go way...

- Get up!

JB is about to have

a heart attack

he's so upset.

You're having a heart attack.

Read this.

Look at this.

It's just pictures.

A selfie, who cares?

Just pictures of you?

What does the caption say?

Caption says,

you need to back up

because your breath

is really bad.

It says, "So much for

the mysterious illness that

canceled the Farrah Marks

meet and greet."

Blah, blah, blah.

"After her homecoming concert,

Farrah left fans waiting for

hours, never showed up."

Okay, that's fine.

"Until being told she's

been taken ill."

I don't even care

about any of this, but...

Oh, this isn't good.

What part?

The love triangle part?

Does Beth know about this?

She's gonna have a fit.

[laughing]

Why didn't you tell me

you took a selfie?

I could have had Fran get

in front of it before this.

And your outburst

outside Jake's?

- Now what?

- I didn't know anyone

was there taking photos.

- [vibrating]

- You can't ignore him.

He's not going away.

Hey, JB, what's up?

Good morning.

Before you freak out,

can I just explain?

So, what'd she do now?

[JB yelling]

Let someone take a selfie.

Yeah, but I...

And your little fight

in the parking lot.

It's all over the news.

JB, can I call you back

in five minutes?

[hangs up]

We have a picture together,

that's cool.

Maybe I shouldn't

have taken the selfie.

[both] You think?

So what's the plan?

Now Molly and I, we're gonna

come up with a plan.

We'll figure it out.

Okay, this could go

a lot of different ways.

What do you mean it's gonna go

a lot of different ways?

I'm gonna need some coffee.

- Would you get up?

- How many ways?

[stove clicking]

Okay, what?

What do you mean?

Right now, this moment

is very critical

to what happens next

and to how your fans

are going to react to this.

Not to mention my friends,

and my mother, and...

Go on.

You need to make a statement

that somehow after that

meet and greet got canceled,

you wanted to do something nice

for your hometown fans.

Really play up

that hometown girl,

hometown fan stuff,

you know?

Anyway, you were going

to make an announcement,

and you were meeting

with Cam's company

to underwrite the event

and Jake as

a possible venue option.

- Wow, you're good.

- I was the publicist

and crisis manager

for William's company

before I left and opened

my own salon.

Okay, so that sounds

li-- like a decent plan.

But why are you even

trying to help me?

Because Cameron cares.

You really did him wrong, Marie.

You know that, right?

Molly, can you go

and call JB, please?

He's blowing me up.

But, God, I watched him

come in day after day,

picking himself up

up off the floor

because the pain

was too heavy to bear.

Because when you left,

he lost two things, Marie.

You and the music.

When I left, Beth,

I left as much for me

as I did for him.

Well, even if it was,

he didn't know that.

But I watched him grow,

and shed the wounds of a pain

that cut him so deeply.

We started having coffee

on Wednesdays.

And then that turned

into Monday and Wednesdays.

And we would just talk.

Well, he would talk

and I would just

listen to him.

He needed that.

Look, Marie, Cameron is always

going to care about you

because that's the kind

of person that he is.

I can see why he loves you.

I've never seen

a love like this.

But it's pretty.

I'm glad that he's the one that

gets to experience it.

Marie, I don't know

your story,

but whatever is bothering you,

you do need

to face it eventually.

I mean, you need closure.

'Cause otherwise it's just

going to keep eating at you,

and it might cost you more than

just your relationships.

I think it might be time,

don't you?

[JB] Thank you so much for

coming in, gentlemen.

We will look over your proposal

and get back to you

within a week.

- Excellent, thank you.

- Appreciate you coming in.

Thank you. Thank you.

Thank you.

Did you get

a chance to check on

the restaurant stuff

for Jake?

Oh, Cam, I'm afraid

it's not good news.

Jake's gonna have to buy

the building

if he wants to keep it.

Right.

No loopholes?

At this point,

no, I'm sorry.

Thanks.

- I'll keep checking.

- Cool.

You got this.

[knocking]

Hi, Mom.

Um, I heard you were

still in town.

Your people were looking

for you, calling me.

I told them you'd probably

never step foot in here again.

Now I'm here.

Do you want to come in?

Sure.

Um, I'm really sorry

I couldn't make it

to your concert,

but thank you for the invite.

It's okay, I didn't really

expect you to come, anyways.

Well, if you can't tell,

I don't-- I don't seem to

get out much these days, so...

Oh, thank you.

I love chocolates.

As you know.

What's going on, Mom?

You okay?

Well, it's been hard.

Ever since Dad...

Well, you know.

And you just took off.

I just took off?

What was I supposed to do?

You were being horrible to me.

You weren't even speaking to me.

It was like I was dead.

I know you blamed me because

every time you looked at me,

your eyes said

"you k*lled him."

I know.

You're right.

I blamed you.

[crying]

I blamed everyone,

including God.

I was so angry.

I was angry that

your dad was drunk.

And that he called you

instead of me.

And I couldn't help him.

And you got to spend

the last moments with him.

And I didn't even get

to say goodbye.

I couldn't look in your eyes

because I see him.

I see him.

[sobbing]

I'm sorry, I just...

Treated you so badly.

I don't blame you for leaving.

I'm just...

I'm really, really sorry.

And I...

I hope that someday,

maybe you can forgive me.

It's okay.

- No, no...

- It is okay.

It's not okay.

If anybody should be

sorry, it's me.

No! No, please don't say that.

Please don't say that.

It wasn't your fault.

It was an accident.

- I was driving--

- Because he was drunk!

And there was black ice

all over the road.

You couldn't have

possibly have seen it.

It's not your fault.

It wasn't your fault.

It wasn't.

- It was an accident.

- I miss him so much.

Oh, honey.

I miss him, too.

- I'm sorry.

- Don't be sorry.

Don't be sorry.

You have nothing to be

sorry for.

- I'm sorry.

- No, I'm so sorry.

No, it was an accident.

It was an accident.

[both sobbing]

And I gotta say, I think y'all

came up with a brilliant plan.

I've been on the phone since

our conversation,

getting things booked.

Only thing we need now

is a venue.

That's what I want to hear.

And I know just the place.

Cool. Is she writing?

Yeah.

And she'll be ready.

I hope so.

If this is gonna work,

she's gotta do her part now.

Do me a favor, will ya?

Make sure that the band is

getting some rehearsal time.

[Molly] Yep, she's been

practicing a lot.

I can guarantee it.

Let me call you back.

Hey, before we leave,

I wanted you to meet somebody.

Molly, this is my mom, Diane.

Diane, this is Molly,

my assistant.

Hi, Molly.

It's so nice to meet you.

I think you were

the one calling,

looking for Tara.

Farrah.

Oh, Farrah.

That's right.

- Farrah. I'm sorry.

- [laughter]

- Yep, that was me.

- Nice to meet you.

It is a pleasure to

meet you, ma'am.

I'm sorry I couldn't

be more help,

but I'm glad you found her.

Well...

You were perfect.

And I'm sure that she got

all of her talent from you.

Now, I don't know if

Marie told you,

but her dad used

to sing the blues,

and I was just his cute

little backup singer.

But he took her under his wing

and taught you everything

you know.

Ta-da.

You still sing the blues,

don't you, muffin?

Yeah.

Yeah, Mom.

I'm glad.

Um, I, um...

I have something

I wanted to give you.

Here.

This was the last family photo

that we ever took.

Thank you.

- Love you, Mom.

- I love you, too.

[rock music playing]

[chuckling]

[horn blaring]

[volume blasting]

All the time I spent

with you

No one gets me

Quite the way you do

You've broken this

poor, fragile thing

It's my mistake

for giving to love again

She set me up,

now she's putting me down

I know that I'm just

a face in the crowd...

[singing continues]

You're getting to me

I wish you were feeling

the same

You're getting to me...

[strumming guitar]

Don't say goodbye...

He's back, folks.

I found this morning

Glory soft

Pressed between

The lines of frost

As I searched

These words for you

All night

I found the friend

I never knew--

- No, no, no.

- That's great, don't stop.

No, it's not right.

It's not right. It's not good.

Well, we're not going

to get it right

if we don't get through it.

If I say that it's not working,

there's a reason that

it's not working.

You have to hear me.

Okay, I mean, I thought

you asked me for help,

I'm sorry.

Honestly, it's nothing

to do with you.

- I'm sorry.

- Okay, what is it?

It has to do--

I'm not--

Let's-- It's just that--

the words and what

I'm thinking about

and where it's coming from

is not right.

So if we could just move on

to another song,

and I could just come back.

We could come back to this one.

It's not working.

Take a breath, it's okay.

You've go-- you've got

plenty of things here.

Let's do...

How about Hollywood and Vine?

Hollywood and Vine okay?

I walk by the tattoo shops

Tie my fingers in a knot

Pretend I'm a rich girl

I stare raging at the glass

Reflections of my past

Laugh at my own rant

I wish you were here

To take all my tears

And turn them into fine wine

Deliver me from madness

I wish you were here

Love pouring over me

Not this cold December rain

I'm waiting on a sign

At Hollywood and Vine

Wow, that was cool.

[Bethany] That was cool.

Sorry to interrupt,

I didn't know there was

a jam session scheduled

for tonight.

No, Cam was just--

he was just helping me work

some of this music that I...

- Aww, he's the best.

- He is the best.

Cam, can I talk

to you for a sec?

Mm-hmm.

Uh-oh, let's go.

What's going on, Cam?

Now you guys

are writing together?

I... yes.

Okay.

But, you know,

it's not about Marie.

It's about me.

- What do you mean?

- This afternoon,

I picked up my guitar

and I missed it.

And I didn't

have any idea how much.

I don't know, I guess

I just didn't realize

that you stopped playing

because of her.

And I didn't stop

playing because of her.

I stopped playing just because

she hurt me,

and it hurt when I played.

But...

you trust me, right?

Unconditionally.

And I can see how important

this is to you.

It's just with her staying here,

you know, and walking in,

and you guys are having

a jam session,

it's just a bit much.

It's like a Jerry Springer

episode, God rest his soul.

Right. He's dead?

Yeah.

Look,

I just want you to be happy.

and if that means

writing with her,

then do it.

I'm not crazy about her,

but I love you.

So do what you gotta do.

[music playing throughout]

Torn

Caught in this tug of w*r

Love

Echoing through the door

You have the love

That I pray for

Looking like it

all has come undone

Hiding underneath

the setting sun

I just wanna feel like

I'm half as good

As you

Torn apart

At the seams

Tears like landmines

Left for me

To discover

Looking like you know

I'm scared of the dark

Rolling like water

over my heart

I just wanna feel like

I'm half as good

As

You

I saw my mom the other day.

Really, how-- how is she?

She was good.

She said she didn't blame me.

So that, I mean, she said

there was nothing to--

To blame.

You thought your mom blamed you

for your father's death?

How could she have?

No. Oh, God.

All these years, this is what

you've been worried about?

I missed her.

How about we try working on

that song A Little More?

I'm gonna hold on to that one

until I'm ready to share it,

and I'm far from ready.

Okay.

You got plenty of songs.

You got the old ones,

you got new ones.

Town's very excited.

It should be a good time.

I'm a little nervous, but...

Do you know of a violinist?

Yeah, actually, I do.

I think I want one

for the show.

Oh, you mean one

that actually is alive?

[laughing]

Come on.

I could get used to this.

I mean, I know that we pissed

each other off a lot,

but we also...

we work really well together.

Always have.

Let's go swimming.

- No.

- Yeah, let's go swimming.

It'll be like old times.

Go ahead, I'll watch.

Please.

I don't want to swim.

You know, a month

after I left...

I wanted to reach out,

and ask you to come to LA.

I just was scared because I

thought that you would say no.

So every time I called you,

I hung up when you answered.

I would have come.

I'm sorry.

You and I...

We're okay.

I think everything is exactly

how it's supposed to be.

Thank you.

[gasps]

Whoo!

[laughing]

I can't swim with

my boots on!

Oh, my God!

There's really big fish

in there.

Shut up.

[microphone feedback]

Mic test.

Check 1, 2. Check, 1, 2.

[overlapping chatter]

Yeah, well, I need it

an hour ago, so,

you know, I don't know

if you want

to factor that in, but...

Hey. What happened?

Well-- oh,

I-- I fell in the lake.

You fell in the lake?

Yeah, excellent.

Hey, what's up, man?

I'm Cameron.

I've heard a lot about you.

I'm Rob,

I'm Farrah's tour manager.

Oh, I've heard nothing

but good things.

Oh, yeah, I'm sure, yeah.

- Cheers.

- Yeah. Cheers.

Did you get my text

about strings?

I did,

the strings are all set.

Cool, all right, well,

thanks for putting

this together.

You should thank whoever

came up with the idea.

It's freaking brilliant.

Yeah...

Are you going to be ready

in two days?

- I'm always ready.

- Yeah, you're ready.

[indistinct chatter]

Hey.

Can I talk to you

for one second?

Yeah. Yeah, sure.

Great.

[man] Mind if I touch this?

1, 2...

He was giving me such

a hard time,

Jake, and his friends

were egging him on,

so he's lucky that all he got

was hot coffee in his lap.

You can't just go around

dumping hot coffee on people.

He was a d*ck.

Well, that d*ck sued me.

If you'd just come to me,

I could have squashed it.

Plus, you were always arguing

with everybody, even me.

I only kept you on

because you were dating Cam.

Wha-- whatever happened

with with the lawsuit?

I spent everything I had

fighting that guy in court.

And I wasn't here to

take responsibility,

so that probably didn't help

your case very much.

Well, I'm...

I'm sorry for that.

I'm real sorry about your dad.

He was a good man.

It was the worst night

of my life.

He called and he was drunk,

so I rushed out of here.

I had no business being out

there in that storm,

and he was in no condition

to drive.

I just wish

I had checked to see

if he had his seatbelt on.

I got to hold his hand

until the paramedics came.

I just hope that he knows

he didn't die alone.

So when I got the chance

to go to LA and audition,

I ran and I never looked back.

Because I wanted to forget

that that night ever happened

and just disappear.

[distant guitar, chatter]

[scoffs]

Cameron, excuse me.

- That's it. That's it.

- Excuse me, hey.

Hey.

Yeah, babe, what's up?

This is what's up.

You want me to make you

a sandwich?

No, I want you to have Farrah

tell her assistant

to keep her delicacies,

such as my almond butter

and my Bubbly stocked.

I mean, she orders

everything else.

- She can order my stuff, too.

- [doorbell rings]

- I'll get it.

- No, I'll get it.

- Yes.

- Delivery for Molly Ellis.

You've got to be kidding me.

A piano?

Cameron!

Bring her in.

Will I kneel afraid

Fighting the wind

Just got blown away

By your little smile

I won't stand alone

We have each other now

We have each other now

[applause]

It works.

Yes, yes, yes.

- I love it.

- Thank you, guys.

All right, everybody.

Superstar needs rest before

the big day tomorrow.

Come on.

"Superstar needs her rest."

Superstar, right.

Get out of our living room.

[indistinct chatter]

I mean, come on, huh?

Are you kidding me?

Yeah? You do?

- I love it.

- Yeah, you love it?

- Yeah.

- Did you take care of the thing

that I asked you

to take care of?

Your business manager

was shocked.

But you did it? It's done?

Yeah.

You know I got you.

You know, I gotta say,

your time in Evergreen's

changed you.

What do you mean?

I don't know, but I like it.

You do?

Well, don't worry about me.

I'm not losing my edge.

That I have no doubt.

Oh, and, hey,

have a good show tomorrow.

I will.

Bethany?

Oh, this is perfect.

Do you think you could do

my hair for tonight?

- Is she serious?

- I'm serious, my hair girl,

we already sent her off to

Tulsa, so this is perfect.

Just, yeah, you could do it.

Okay.

I will do your hair if...

If you stop asking me

for things.

No problem.

Never gonna ask you

for one more thing.

- Great, we have a deal.

- Except for one.

Can I just ask

for one more thing?

What, Farrah, what?

I need to make a stop.

[no audible dialogue]

- Thank you.

- Welcome, welcome.

Hi! Oh, my gosh!

- So nice to see you.

- So good to see you.

- It's been so long.

- You look great.

Oh, took me a lot of

work to get like this.

So good to see you.

[indistinct chatter]

[Rob] Hey, hey, hey, hey.

Very exciting.

We got a full house.

Full parking lot, as it were.

Got a whole bunch of happy

people eager to see our girl.

Where is she?

Where's Farrah?

I thought she was with you.

Seriously.

You're her assistant, right?

Find her, please.

Farrah?

I'll be right back.

[phone vibrating]

[vibrating stops]

You're k*lling me, kid.

You're k*lling me.

Let me guess, Roberto,

you lost my client again.

Oh, you know, JB, sir.

That is an excellent guess.

I'm all ears.

- I'm on it, yeah.

- I would hope so.

Do me a favor, find me

when you do, yeah?

Yeah, you'll be

the first to know.

[soft music]

[sniffs]

[spits]

[cell phone ringing]

Can you not answer that, please?

Just turn your phone off

for a minute.

[ringing continues]

[stops]

Hi, Daddy.

I brought you these.

I'm here, I made it.

Only took me forever.

It's just not an easy place

to come to.

And, I mean, are you

really here anyways?

I mean, are you in here,

or are you...

I miss you.

I'm making music for a living.

Can you believe it?

People actually like

the sound

that I'm making.

I feel like the music

that I'm singing

isn't my music.

I feel like it's

somebody else's.

You would know this,

because you never...

You never would have done

what I'm doing,

playing for the man.

"The Blues Man of Evergreen."

Remember when we used to sit

at that piano together

and you would

teach me chords?

And I used to skip all the flats

and the sharps because

I didn't really understand

why they were necessary.

[laughing]

It sounded awful.

[crying]

Why did you do this?

Why?

Why did you have

to drink so much?

Were we not enough?

Was I not enough?

I need you right now.

I need to know things

that I, I...

There's no way for me to know.

You were supposed

to be here

to teach me those things.

I just can't...

Can you come to me in like,

in a dream or something?

Everybody talks about that.

Like a-- a bird or something.

I can know that you're here.

I can't even get

to the real f*cking thing

because everything

is shut off.

I can't feel it.

My music isn't real

because of you.

Because you took it all.

You didn't leave me

to tell me how to do it.

So I'm faking it.

[sobbing]

I'm faking it because

I can't find it.

Where did you put it?

Please.

Please talk to me.

Help me.

Help me find the music.

And please,

just please show me.

Show me how.

Do you remember

How long I held

Your hand?

Do you remember

How long I held

Your hand?

I's the music.

It's the music.

The Blues Man,

it's the music...

[crowd cheering]

I'm having a bad day

You call it...

[fans chanting]

Farrah! Farrah!

Hey, what's going on?

Still nothing?

Nothing.

Straight to voicemail.

Called her driver, too.

Nothing.

All right, well, she either

takes the stage in two minutes,

or we're calling it,

we're sending some

very unhappy people home.

Give it time.

She wouldn't do this.

Not in Evergreen.

She will be here.

Trust me.

[chanting continues]

Farrah! Farrah! Farrah!

Farrah! Farrah!

Farrah! Farrah! Farrah!

[all cheering]

I'm ready.

Let's do A Little More.

I found this morning

Glory soft

Pressed between

The lines of frost

As I searched

Those words for you

All night

I found the friend

I never knew

But I hold now

Are these photos

Lying faded

In my mind

And my heart struggles

With why we

Couldn't be

A little more

A little more...

Looks like our girl's back.

Ah, brother,

she never left.

Did you hear

My longing tears

Describe to you

Our missing years

Will you remember

How long I held

Your hand?

All I hold now

Are these photos

Lying faded

In my mind

And my heart struggles

With why you

Didn't fight

A little more

A little more

[fans cheering]

But all I hold now

Are these photos

Lying faded in my mind

And my heart struggles

With why we

Couldn't be

A little more

But all I hold now

Are these photos

Lying faded in my mind

And my heart struggles

With why you

Didn't fight

A little more

Goodbye

[crowd cheering]

[chanting]

Farrah! Farrah! Farrah!

All right, folks,

say your goodbyes.

We're heading for Tulsa.

I'll see you in

a couple weeks.

Yeah.

Ahem, hey, lovebirds.

Excuse me, sorry.

Since it's here,

I have something for you.

But you have to promise me

that you will not open it

until tomorrow.

No, no, it's...

I'm serious.

You have to say "I promise."

- I promise.

- Okay, there you go.

Don't be a stranger, okay?

Come back soon.

Except don't break

into my restaurant

or next time I will sh**t.

Well, get a better

security system

and then, you know, maybe...

[laughter]

[overlapping chatter]

Thank you for everything.

No, thank you.

I mean, you're welcome.

But thank you for

giving me...

Just giving me

a better memory of you.

Look at us, huh?

Well, I...

I just think that you

were a real trooper

about the whole thing,

and I don't know where you got

all that patience

that you got now,

but it's a good look on you.

Probably working with my dad.

Oh, that would do it.

That would do it.

Well, if anything,

you are gonna make

a great dad.

Better than him, so...

Oh, it has been declared.

Well, it'll be good because

I have your number.

So we're just gonna become

best friends?

If not, that already

hasn't happened...

You know, you should just

probably leave him now

and come with me on the tour.

And you could be

my personal stylist.

Oh, I don't think you

could afford me.

Well, instead, I'll just come

and get my haircuts done.

Yes, and there's plenty

of hotel rooms

for the next time you come in.

No, no, I'm gonna buy the house

next door or something.

That'll be even better--

Wow, look at you.

Well, your team made me feel

like a queen, so, thank you.

Because you are a queen,

you are.

Well, look, I have

a jet and a hangar

with your name on it, okay?

So when you're ready, you want

to come hang out with me,

you just text.

Well, I might

take you up on that.

- You better take me up on that.

- Be ready.

- All right.

- Great show last night.

Thanks.

Bye, Mom.

Okay, I'm gonna throw up.

Let's go, come on.

Everybody inside.

She has lots of boyfriends, so.

That's not true.

Yeah, come on.

Let's go.

Cameron,

much good fortune

on you, man.

Wow, yeah.

Awesome. Thank you.

You bet, brother.

[Farrah] "Jake.

"Your family blessed

so many people

"in Evergreen

for three generations.

"I want to make sure

no one ever

"tries to take

that away from us.

"Here's the keys

to your kingdom.

"Thank you for not sh**ting me,

"and, most importantly,

for your forgiveness.

With love, Marie."

Thank you so much.

Try this one.

It's actually really good.

Do you like it?

- Oh, yeah.

- It's good, right?

Mm-hmm, yeah, that's...

- That's goo--

- [cymbal strike]

Sorry, my bad.

Maybe we should just have

Farrah play the wedding.

No, I'm just kidding.

What? Are you serious?

No! Were you serious?

Are you serious?

Look at you.

I was confused.

No, I woul-- Please don't.

I don't know.

Are you thinking about it?

Definitely not,

I do not want

Farrah anywhere near

our wedding.

She's not coming

to the wedding, is she?

When you feel you're

holding tight

To what's buzzing

In your mind

There might be

a warning sign

Just take shelter

with me inside

Well, can you see it?

Can you breathe it?

And release the thoughts

That come

In between us

There's no secrets

And allows us both

To flow

Can you see?

You're right here

In front of me

Oh, this world can

be so cruel

You feel alone

And like a fool

Make you feel your truth

Are lies

Your true nature

In disguise

Well, can you see it?

Can you breathe it?

And release the thoughts

That come

In between us

There's no secrets

And allows us both

To flow

Can you see?

You're right here

In front of me

Can you see it?

Can you breathe it?

And release the thoughts

That come

In between us

There's no secrets

And allows us both

To flow

Can you see?

You're right here

In front of me

[fans cheering]
