We're here in the garage this week with five little builders

and one big question.

- Why are they doing this?

How come you can't make 'em stop?

- [Big Schwag] Well, maybe more than one.

- Have you ever seen anything like it?

- Whose idea was it?

- And get me outta here.

- [Big Schwag] But the real question is,

has Jesse gone bonkers?

- I don't know him, Satan. I think Jesse's losing it.

I think so too.

- [Narrator] Join us now as Jesse and his g*ng

of Maverick Mechanics rip, grind, and burn,

transforming ordinary street vehicles

into monster machines in the Monster Garage.

This week's challenge a team of little people convert one

of the smallest production cars ever made

into a miniature nightmare on wheels.

[upbeat rock music]

The rules, when built the vehicle must appear to be stock.

The team has 5,000 bucks for parts.

Jesse and the crew have seven days a night.

On the first day they design for the next five they build,

and on the seventh day they race.

If successful, they walk away with a $4,000 set

of Mack's hottest tools and the clock starts now.

[upbeat rock music]

This week's crew rolls for the streets

of Long Beach in a big way.

Longtime Garage assistant Chris Artiaga, or Body Drop,

leads his team of fellow little people to design a monster

that's small on scale, but big on muscle.

- We chose a small project for small guys.

You know, there's a lot of work there,

but it's in proportion.

- [Narrator] Body Drop first impressed Jesse with his work

as a builder on the mobile Skate Ramp show.

They became friends and the show hired him

as the parts runner in the Monster Garage.

- That ain't gonna work.

- [Narrator] Jesse's rewarding all of Body Drop's hard work

and dedication with a gift, a monster built just for him.

He even found time to get it wrapped.

And seeing this project through both the design and build,

a team that looks small but walks tall.

- Hey, Jesse.

- What's up, man? - This is Jeff, man.

- See Phil?

- What's up man? How was your flight?

Where'd you guys fly from?

- Atlanta.

- The ATL? What's your name?

- Look at Body Drops like the big dog this week.

- [Narrator] Ex-airplane mechanic

and current professional wrestler, Tucson, Arizona's,

Jeff "Pitbull" Bederson.

Autobody technician and pro basketball player

from Danville, Virginia, Rontrell "Lolo" Penny.

Mechanic and welder from Albuquerque, New Mexico,

Philip "The Microman" Duran.

Weekend warrior in both his garage

and the wrestling ring from Travelers rest, South Carolina,

Michael "Justice" Moore.

And rounding out the build crew,

car customizer and Monster Garage parts runner,

Chris "Body Drop" Artiaga.

Here to draw up their plans,

illustrator and Microcar fanatic from Los Gatos, California,

Jeff Lockridge.

- I'll lay it on the line

and tell you guys exactly how it is.

I mean, you ask Body Drop.

I treat him just like everybody else.

Sometimes I push him down a little bit, but he gets me back.

He's made me bleed a couple times before.

You know, everybody treats you guys like you're special

or you can't do stuff, or just because you're not

as tall as everybody else, you know,

they think you guys can't do the same stuff

as everyone else.

Let's build a cool car

that's like monster garage style

that only you guys can drive.

- [Speaker] Cool, right on.

- You know, I found the perfect car,

which is like one of the smallest cars ever made

in the world.

- [Speaker] Okay.

- It's called a Peel Trident Microcar,

and they only made like 50.

- 50 of these.

- Yeah, I found one a place that's remaking 'em in England.

So we bought one. I didn't get any motor or trans though.

I think we should get like a Suzuki Hayabusa motor in it.

- Oh cool. - [Jeff] You know?

Let's make it bad, and you know,

if you put a turbo on those,

you can get like three or 400 of horsepower dependable.

- Geez.

- Yeah, so.

- Not sure that that's gonna be possible.

- Have you watched this show before?

[all laughing]

- [Narrator] The plan is to turn

the three-wheeled Peel Trident

into a four-wheeled mini car using a modified go-kart frame.

- I think the go-kart's definitely more stable.

You know, four wheels instead of three.

First and foremost, let's make it safe.

- You know, you have to make this one survive.

- [Jeff] Yeah.

Yeah, so no like you usually do,

being lazy and trying to hide all the time.

[people laughing]

[upbeat rock music]

- [Narrator] To turn this shell of a microcar

into a lightning fast street rod,

they'll strip a high performance go-kart down

to its chassis, then mount the sport bike engine

and turbocharger before customizing everything else

to fit inside the Peel Trident's undersized body.

Then it's off to take on any Goliath

that stands in its way.

[upbeat rock music]

- Yeah, have you ever heard of that?

There's a whole little village in North Long Beach.

- [Narrator] Day two, the mini monster build crew arrives,

ready to reveal what's in the box behind door number one.

- Where all small people live.

It's like for real.

[roars] Jump and scare all the little people.

[upbeat rock music] [drills whirring]

- Yeah.

[people cheering]

- Yeah.

- That's where every dime we paid for it.

Look at that little money.

See?

Sometimes everybody thinks I'm crazy but then you know,

I pull off a home run like this, look at that. [chuckles]

You like that, Chris?

- It's gonna work.

[upbeat rock music]

- [Narrator] Body Drop's love for cars began

at an early age.

- I have uncles that had low riders

and from the day I seen him I wanted to drive one.

- [Narrator] He quickly progressed

from a teenage semi-pro skate punk

to hotshot car customizer.

- Everybody knows me everywhere I go.

You're the dude on "Monster Garage." You're Body Drop.

[upbeat rock music]

- [Narrator] Although the lightweight Trident shell

isn't very intimidating,

no one expects this build to be easy.

- The hardest thing's gonna be the motor.

- Yeah. - Because the motor's

like a big lump and all that stuff.

- So we're gonna replace all this with with the new taxi?

- I think so, yeah, because I mean something

with 400 horsepower-

- Yeah.

- That's not much breaks.

- [Body Drop] No.

- [Narrator] Philip, "The Microman" Duran

is no stranger to working on small vehicles.

- I built a lowrider bike trikes.

You know, it's about probably the size as this.

[upbeat rock music]

- [Narrator] He may be only three foot three,

but Philip Duran lives life in a big way.

From boxing to basketball,

The Microman is a pint-sized powerhouse,

but his true passion has always been his vocation,

mechanics.

- My first overall was 14 years old.

Just like a doctor, you know when you go in and you're sick,

they fix you up, so that's what I do, I fix up cars

- [Narrator] As experienced as he is,

the Microman has never built a car as small as this one.

- I thought I was the only thing small.

That's small too. [chuckles]

- I think this is like the ultimate acceptance for them.

If you don't like it, you get outta my way.

We can do it. Pick it up.

- We're just gonna have to get it.

Get everything here and see what we have to work with.

[upbeat rock music]

- [Narrator] Jesse calls it quits until parts arrive

in the morning.

The crew hits the road knowing it's a long week ahead.

Monster Garage factoid.

In 1964, 115-pound Diana Rigg,

played sexy secret agent Emma be in the Avengers.

The curvaceous body of this Peel weighs less than 60 pounds.

[liquid bubbling]

Day three, the micro monster build team is anxious

to get to work, but until their engine and chassis arrive,

they don't have much to work with.

- We're gonna disassemble the entire car

so we can get exact diameters of the engine

and then also the pan of the bottom of the car.

[upbeat rock music]

- Yeah.

- [Narrator] It's clear the team isn't intimidated

by the project, but there is one thing Pitbull will admit

to being nervous about.

- I feel anxiety of, you know, being here with Jesse James.

I mean he's an, you know, legend icon and you know,

the first day here in the garage I felt, you know, a little,

a lot of anxiety, you know,

just being in front of him in person,

but now I feel a lot more comfortable.

You know, I think it's a very exciting, unique project.

[upbeat rock music]

- [Narrator] Jeff "Pitbull" Patterson

has always felt comfortable with mechanical work.

- Well, I was an aerospace machinist for the Boeing company

and I've worked at numerous mechanical shops on the side.

I just completed my first mini chopper a few weeks back.

- [Narrator] Pitbull enjoys wrenching,

but he really gets his kicks moonlighting

in the wrestling ring.

- I wrestle all around the country by the name

of Pitbull Patterson pound for pound,

the strongest music wrestler in the world

because there's no other little person out there

in my weight class that did the 300 pound bench press.

[upbeat rock music]

- [Narrator] 11:00 AM and Jesse rolls in

with the massive Hayabusa motor.

It may have been salvaged from a wreck,

but this engine is no junker.

[engine roaring] [upbeat rock music]

This is the machine it usually powers,

the Suzuki GSX 1300R.

The fastest production bike in the world, bar none.

After one look at this beast of an engine,

it's obvious to the builders that this pint size project

will be no small task.

- There's a lot of crap on this thing, yeah.

The only concern that I would've is does this have all sorts

of kind of different sensors on it?

- Yeah, it's got like a tip over sensor

for if you knock the bike over,

it won't keep running or everything.

[upbeat rock music]

- [Narrator] But that's not all Jesse's brought

to work today.

- Here's the turbo.

You know this is good 'cause it's from Mr. Turbo.

Eureka.

I don't think we've ever done anything turbo charged

on "Monster Garage" before.

- No. - No.

Step one, yeah.

- [Narrator] The complex engine and turbo compel the crew

to do something rarely seen in the Monster garage.

Read the instructions.

The manuals have the teams scratching their heads,

so they decide to do some real life research.

[upbeat rock music]

They head off to Golf

and Stuff's little indie go-kart track.

But before they inspect the carts, first things first.

[upbeat rock music] [cart engines roaring]

- Monster Garage. Woo.

- [Narrator] The team has a blast,

but the flimsy carts with their mower sized motors

offer little inspiration.

- The driving on the new vehicle's gonna be like

maybe 10 times as fast.

[tires screeching]

- Hey Body Drop, get over here. Come open this door.

- [Narrator] Outside the garage,

Cliff Quiella from Tony Cart arrives

with one of the fastest racing carts on the planet.

- Normally run a 125CC two cycle,

make about 45 horsepower, so.

And that'll push it 125 miles an hour,

so this thing's gonna be wicked.

- This one's 1300CCs.

- Yeah. - And turbocharged.



It's just gonna be fast.

Could get out a little outta control.

- And we'll use those seats

and mount two little cool seats

that are safe with the roll cage, and of course,

this thing doesn't have a roll cage.

Do you just wear a helmet?

I told you you got that plastic bubble.

- You got the bubble to protect you.

- If you crash, it'll be like going around in the dryer.

[people laughing]

Nothing's...

- [Narrator] Their safety concerns will have to take

a back seat to building.

It's midway through day three

and the micro monster team finally gets to do a tear out.

[upbeat rock music]

- Right here.

- That's all.

- I think if you wanna start cutting this out,

Body Drop, floor, cut the floor out.

- [Narrator] They continue their as*ault

by removing a section of body to match the frame,

while Jesse scopes out a spot for the engine.

- Got a whole lot of motor.

- [Narrator] There's no turning back now.

[upbeat rock music] [machinery whirring]

- You are sweating.

I've never seen that before.

- [Narrator] An early stroke of luck.

The Trident's mid sixties style body drops right into place

on the 21st century card frame.

- Will it fit all the way in between those?

- [Body Drop] Yeah.

- [Speaker] Yeah. - [Speaker] Yeah.

- That is sweet.

- Okay, let's put the top on now and see what it looks like.

Damn, this thing's like made for it almost.

- [Speaker] It was perfect.

- [Narrator] Now to top it off with a little bubbly

- We got a quarter. [indistinct]

[upbeat rock music]

- [Narrator] The team finally gets a glimpse

at how their mini Frankenstein will look.

But if it's going to come to life,

it's gotta have a heartbeat.

[Jesse whistling]

- Big exhaust is gonna be hot right by your back.

- It's gonna come out right behind us.

- It's gonna be like the George Foreman Lean Green

grilling machine in there. [chuckles]

Cool. We're good.

We need to come in tomorrow and have like a full day.

[upbeat rock music]

- [Narrator] By the end of day three,

the pieces are all in place.

Now all the team needs to do is make it work.

[upbeat rock music]

that means nearly 200,000 are little.

Day four, the guys stroll in knowing today,

the engine is top priority.

- Mounting this motor is a big issue.

That's gonna be most of the day today.

Today's the day we're gonna work, work, work.

[upbeat rock music]

- [Narrator] As they take turns clearing the way

for the motor mount,

Jesse hears the voice of fate coming through his car stereo.

- [Speaker] KROQ and it's to Kevin [indistinct]

at 28 minutes after eight o'clock.

Dear Kevin, this email began.

We recently had to let our receptionist slash m*dget go

and I know he is available for work's.

- Let's Jevron on a job.

- Jesse James from "Monster Garage," Jesse James.

What? What's going on dude?

- [Jesse] It's Jevron's lucky week this week.

- Tell us why.

- [Jesse] We're doing the all m*dget build

on "Monster Garage."

- [Speaker] An all m*dget build.

- [Speaker] Oh look at at that.

- [Speaker] Look at this.

- [Speaker] There's gotta be something he can do.

- [Jesse] Well, we are kind of shorthanded this week.

- [Speaker] Oh hey. - [Speaker] Hey.

- Be here all week.

- [Jesee] Yeah, if he wants to come down, tell him,

I'll put his a*s to work.

- Seriously we will.

- Hey, this guy needs a job. Are we hiring?

- What's up, guys?

- Just gonna help the fellas.

You know, just build up a masterpiece.

Hey, Body Drop, get him some safety glasses

and some gloves and stuff.

[upbeat rock music]

- [Narrator] The guys can use every pair of hands,

no matter the size and they all get busy battling

an engineering enigma.

How to make the oversized engine fit

within the confines of the vehicle.

Instead of mounting this engine from above,

the team will need to anchor it to the frame below,

and reposition it vertically to make room for the driver.

Then they'll compact the exhaust system

and transfer the turbo behind the motor to conserve space.

After wiring, plumbing and attaching

a sprocket to the rear axle,

they'll link the engine

and axle using a heavy duty chain.

Body Drop starts prepping the motor mounts.

The crucial first step to give the Hayabusa a new home.

Step two is to build a support to stabilize the engine.

- The more stable, the more better.

[upbeat rock music]

- With their mounts cut and the cross beam welded,

it's time to position the motor.

Easier said than done.

- When you get it down you can set it there.

Yeah, set it right there.

- [Narrator] Unfortunately, their measurements

weren't exactly on the money.

- That bar is way too high.

- The oil plug is above the frame.

- Why don't you just notch it right there?

- [Narrator] The Microman removes a section

of the support bar to lower the motor,

and literally throws his weight into it.

[upbeat rock music] [machinery whirring]

After making the adjustments,

it looks like they've hit their mark.

- Tack it. - Is that it?

- Yeah, that's it right there.

- Yeah, somebody tack it.

Don't do it.

[electrode zapping]

- Lemme see that, lemme see that level.

- You wanna do this?

- There it is right there.

- [Narrator] But when they check their work,

the crew can see they were a little hasty with the welder.

- We need to go down from this side, down.

Up here, we need to go down.

- [Narrator] Because the vehicle is so light,

even the slightest imbalance of the powerful engine

could send it into a tailspin.

So Lolo steps in to remove the longer bracket

and they start the motor mounting one more time.

[upbeat rock music]

- Put the bolt on, tighten it,

make sure it's level and then tack it.

- Like that? - Yeah.

[electrode buzzing]

[indistinct chatter]

- Yeah, level.

- [Jeff] It's level?

- Yeah.

[upbeat rock music]

- [Narrator] The new guy, Jevron,

doesn't appear to be too ambitious,

so the guys put him to work cutting the seat support

from the frame.

But maybe the plasma torch isn't intro mechanics.

- [Speaker] Hey, lemme see how.

I'll show you how it's done.

[upbeat rock music]

- [Narrator] So Jevron goes back

to what he was doing before, nothing.

Across the shop,

Jesse spent the morning cutting custom Hayabusa headers,

but he's never too busy to notice hard work

or lack thereof.

- So that's why the new guy was looking for a job.

How come everybody that works their a*s off

and works hard has a job?

- [Narrator] And it's inspired him

to personally dictate some direction.

- Maybe you know all the stuff too,

you can start working on,

all the shifter and all that stuff,

which just has to be broached

with that stock shift knob or shift arm,

and then a little tab.

- We have one? - A little tab for a rod,

and we'll ship that hand shifter to the other side.

And the clutch is a cable clutch for the goat,

we're gonna have to adapt that

and make it fit with hydraulic.

So all that stuff you can work on.

- [Narrator] Body drop isn't the only builder

feeling the heat.

As Microman and Justice begin chaining the axle,

they're horrified to realize

that the engine position still ain't gonna work.

- Let me see.

- This thing right here,

you know there's still guard there.

- Yeah, and you know it's pretty close.

It's probably close to oil too.

- Yeah, so. - [Microman] So.

- We'll just go down.

- Yeah, I just remake them.

- Make 'em.

- Yeah, because it's 300 horsepower

and that's kind of the mount that's keeping it

from banging against the axle when you dump the clutch.

[upbeat rock music]

- [Narrator] For the third time today,

the motor mounts are modified, this time,

to allow the change to spin freely.

- One more time. Totally, this is for good.

Take three, flash.

[electrode zapping]

- [Narrator] Frustration is high,

but after welding on the new tabs,

they give the engine anchoring one last try.

- Now that's a whale. Oh, here, wait a sec.

- Just like downtown.

- Yeah? - Yeah.

- Right, right.

- [Speaker] Just like downtown.

- [Narrator] The Hayabusa is finally locked into place,

but this small victory is tarnished

by lack of progress elsewhere.

- All day on two mounts?

- This sucks, we should have been a lot further.

Two freaking brackets took six midgets all day.

- [Narrator] Despite their disappointment,

the builders remain optimistic.

- It's going to fire up by mid Friday morning.

- [Speaker] Yeah, about one.

- [Speaker] By lunch on Friday [indistinct]

- Friday, I'll just say Friday.

Never jinx yourself.

- [Speaker] That's a wrap.

- Guys, good luck.

- Pretty happy man.

- [Narrator] At the mention of more work,

the new guy, Jevron decides he's had his fill

of life in the garage.

- Realize this is not for me.

- Today's your first day. How do you know?

- There's always room under the rainbow?

- The plane. The plane, the plane.

- [Narrator] At the end of a long day, the crew marches out.

Their engine secured,

but there's a whole lot of loose ends left in the garage.

[upbeat rock music]

Day five, after a challenging engine mount yesterday,

the micro monster crew arrives determined

to kick it up a notch.

They'll need to relocate the steering, gas, brake,

and clutch system to allow the driver

to see over the dash.

- Low rider.

- It should be right there.

- Like that?

- [Narrator] Body Drop and Pitbull takes some measurements

and head to West Coast to clip and thread the steering arms.

The remaining builders stay behind

to add some much needed reinforcement to the column.

- Where do you want it? Right there?

- Right there.

[electrode zapping]

- It's going to work, my man.

[upbeat rock music]

- [Narrator] Michael "Justice" Moore

has had his head under the hood for decades.

- I've been working on 'em ever since I was little.

Oh I mean young, yeah.

- [Narrator] He can joke now,

but Little Justice wasn't always laughing

when it came to the subject of his size.

- You know, everywhere you go,

you gonna get pointed at, he's height, you know.

So it's just harder when you're a kid 'cause you're not,

you know, you're not...

You just want to cry or go up and knock 'em out.

One of the two, you know?

- [Narrator] But now he gets paid to roll with the punches

as a professional wrestler.

- And we travel all around the world

doing hardcore wrestling and I love every minute of it.

- [Narrator] The upbeat boot in the garage quickly sours

when Body Drop and pit bull return

and find the steering arm doesn't measure up.

- You know why?

Because you took the measure up when I was over here like...

- Remember I didn't mark it. You did.

- We both participated in the marking.

- Right there, because you adjust it.

- We're gonna cut it again.

[upbeat rock music]

- [Narrator] Just when the team hits its first hurdle

of the day, Jack and his crew

from Ink Sanity Tech two arrive

to give them a permanent reminder

of their week in the garage.

- Hi mom. I made it.

- You gonna get some ink?

- Oh yeah, first timer.

- [Narrator] As the tattoo artists get ready,

Lolo makes it clear that he's not.

- We'll sit next to you and hold your hand.

- No.

- We'll be there for you.

- I don't need all that. [laughing]

I do body work, I paint cars, and sand them down.

When I'm off, I just lay back and chase women, you know?

Hi, girl.

- [Narrator] Among this body man's list

of other extracurricular activities

is playing professional basketball with the Tiny Trotters.

- Because ain't too many people out there can say,

"Oh I can go do body work,

I can go play basketball," you know?

It's just a blessing.

- Let's rock.

- [Narrator] Justice and pit bull

are first in line for the ink injection.

- Tickles.

- Putting m*dget life on my forearms

'cause that's what I live, you know what I'm saying?

A tough m*dget life.

- [Narrator] After a few minutes of watching his teammates,

the siren song of the needle lures Lolo to the chair.

- Hear all these needles, eeh. Nah.

- [Narrator] When ink finally hits flesh,

how does Lolo describe the experience?

- I feel like somebody's scratching with a plastic fork.

- With a plastic fork?

- [Lolo] Yeah.

- Monster Garage.

- [Narrator] The Microman is a virtual body art gallery

and decides to add a Monster Garage logo to his collection.

- That's awesome.

- [Narrator] As the ink party breaks up,

Jesse's beginning to realize that even

without this brief distraction,

the micro crew is in danger of falling seriously behind.

- Everything's in proportion.

You know, I mean the the the amount of work

they're able to tackle is isn't as much.

It's something that's so small to me. I don't know.

It's hard.

I mean, I've given trying to give 'em enough guidance

but let 'em do a lot of stuff figuring

and making stuff on their own.

- [Narrator] And the things they can't do on their own,

like piping complex exhaust,

Jesse cranks out like a monster machine.

[upbeat rock music]

- Like I was like whoa, look how small those hitters are,

and then I'm like, oh yeah, it's perfect. [chuckles]

[upbeat rock music continues]

- Don't fart.

You're gonna give a little extra turbo boost.

- [Narrator] The tiny car's lack of workspace forces Jesse

to make some major modifications to the turbo system.

- Supposed to sit on the front, you know,

with all the four exhaust coming straight down in here,

and then this came up over the air tank,

or the air box into here.

So now we're moving everything to the back.

- [Narrator] A turbocharger uses the exhaust flow

from an engine to increase power.

The exhaust passes through a turbine,

which then rotates a compressor

and sends the pressurized air back to the motor.

Forcing more air into the cylinders

when they fire creates bigger explosions inside the engine

and boosts its horsepower by up to 50%,

- Just a hair dryer.

So I mean really same thing.

Instead of electricity in a handle it,

the exhaust makes it go.

- [Narrator] As day five draws to an end,

the team is only too aware that tomorrow

is their final build day.

- A little slow progress, and you know,

none of us have ever worked on something like this,

complex, turn that go-kart into a 300-horsepower monster.

- That was supposed...

Nobody has.

- [Speaker] No, none of us sounds right.

All that's left to do is everything.

- [Narrator] But before they overwhelm themselves,

Jesse reels them in trying

to focus their attention on the basics.

Make it go stop and turn.

- Get all the steering, all the controls have to be done.

Clutch, throttle, shifter.

It's gonna be a late night tomorrow night. Better sleep in.

[upbeat rock music]

- [Big Schwag] Only one day to go,

and the micro monster still doesn't measure up.

- [Narrator] Day six, the final build day,

and the mini monster team is running out of time.

- [Jeff] Are you worried at all Lolo?

- Nope, not at all.

[upbeat electronic music]

Despite their inexperience with high performance engines,

Justice and Pitbull start plumbing the power plant.

- [Speaker] So how much turbo experience you guys have?

- Zero.

- About 30 minutes worth.

- [Narrator] Confining everything

to the engine compartment remains a problem.

- I don't know, I'm lost.

- [Narrator] Even something as simple as running oil lines

has become a big project.

- On the instructions on this turbo,

this hose is supposed to connect right there.

It's supposed to be turned.

- This? - Yeah.

Supposed to go right there.

- So you need to fight...

We're gonna have to get fittings.

- Okay. - That make it

It's only gonna be 285 horsepower instead of 300.

So it'll be same as like a 5.0 Mustang.

- [Narrator] The loss of a little horsepower

doesn't worry Jesse, finishing on time does.

- I don't think we're gonna make it,

but I know we can if I bust my a*s,

so we just gotta do it, man.

You know how sad that'd be if they fail?

- [Narrator] If he wants to drive by midnight,

engine experts Coast and Sharika arrives

to untangle the hi Hayabusa's complex wiring system.

to get this thing wired up?

- It's not real complicated.

Once you have the concept of how it works.

This is the way it works.

gotta run these two separate with this diode.

So you can create that diode between the two.

Shorter end of the diode goes to this black and white wire.

What it does is it has like a little

thing that sits up on top.

You shove it in through the mullets and push it down

and you tub the wire outta the bag.

Horseshoe can fill it with silicon, put two zipties, zip it.

I see it leaking coming-

- We got a leak right here too, a fuel leak.

- [Narrator] After tightening the plumbing, they try again.

[car engine roaring]

The engine and turbo

are still spewing massive amounts of oil.

The expert thinks the unorthodox arrangement is to blame.

- It is in front.

- Yeah.

- Do you think just the long length of it?

- Length of it, yeah. The length of it.

And then normally,

it's gotta make a 90-degree drop this way.

You don't really want it to do any of this.

- [Speaker] Does it get any vacuum off that?

- No, it's just straight gravity straight into the pan.

[upbeat rock music]

- [Narrator] The minutes are flying by,

but even if the engine worked flawlessly,

the rest of the car still has miles to go

before it can move an inch.

- We still gotta mount the body,

make all the controls safe and operational.

Steering, brakes, clutch, throttle.

What else? Cooling system.

- [Narrator] No one, not even the Monster Garage staff wants

the micro team to fail.

- Do you wanna fake it? You are the producer.

If you want me to like fake like we finished it

and they did it, I'll do it.

You just tell me.

Dude, I wanted to see a m*dget drive that thing around.

- [Narrator] Whether it's denial or determination,
