-How's it going?
-Good to see you.
Good to see you, man.
Klondike gold miner
Parker Schnabel is a man
with a plan.
-Here to build a plant?
-Here to build a plant.
And a new toy.
To haul in as much gold
as possible
at his Dominion Creek claim,
Parker's ready to unleash
his new million-dollar
wash plant.
Made it here in one piece,
I see.
It looks nice.
This wash plant,
it's got a lot more
sluice run width,
and so that's what should
increase our yardage
and help us get through
all of the pay here
at Dominion
in the Money Pit
that we have to do.
It's a bit of a gamble going
with something that's untested
late in the season,
but we'll roll those dice.
Two years ago,
Parker and expert
wash plant maker
Jeff Turnell went on a mission
to New Zealand.
With those sluice vents
on skids like that,
and them being
two separate pieces,
it's gonna move, like,
super easy.
To design
a cutting-edge plant
custom-made for Parker.
Good job, man.
We better get on building
a real one.
Parker's new
gold-catching machine...
boasts self-leveling skids on
the shaker...
and the sluices.
The sluice box is the biggest
Parker owns and can handle up
to 250 yards of pay dirt
per hour,
his largest plant now,
Big Red,
which means it could deliver
an additional $1 million more
the season.
We have a lot of
sluicing to do and
it's late in the year.
I'd like to build
our new plant
because that has four feet
wider sluice runs,
a bit bigger than Big Red,
so we're shutting
that plant down.
So it'll make a
difference for sure.
I'm stoked to put it to work.
We definitely need it.
At the rate we're going,
we're not really getting
through
ground very fast,
so this will help.
I'm hoping we can get it
assembled and up in the pit
by the end of the week.
So Parker is talking about
bringing in the new wash plant
that he had designed
and built,
but we're going
to be firing up
an unknown plant here to try
and finish things out,
which has always given us
a little grief in the past.
Up to this point,
Parker's relied on wash plant
Sluicifer,
now running on
his Australia Creek claim,
and Big Red,
which is chewing through
pay dirt
at his newly acquired
Dominion Creek claim.
The new plant has wider
sluice runs than Big Red.
It should allow us to run more
yardage per hour.
Hopefully this one works
as good as it looks on paper.
With only enough resources
to run two plants at a time,
Parker's decided
to pull Big Red in favor of
the new wash plant.
Right now,
the big pressure here
at Dominion
is to get this new wash plant
set up.
And as soon as
it's ready to go,
we're going to shut
Big Red down,
pull the conveyors,
bring them over here,
and fire this thing up.
Only time will tell if it was
the right move or
if we should have stuck
with good old Big Red.
So as far as getting
the skids under it,
that's the one thing that
I'm a little concerned about.
Before dragging
the plant to the cut,
Parker and Jeff must lift
the shaker frame
and attach its unique
metal skids.
We've got to lift up
the front of the plant.
I'll bring a loader over
and go find some blocking.
Oh, I don't like that.
Hey, Parker?
What?
We're not high enough yet,
are we?
I think we'll have to put
a couple in here now.
We could probably
just do it right in
the center,
-but...
-Not a big fan of that.
-It's a little bit
questionable.
- It is.
I know when we lift
this other end,
it's going to want to roll.
The 30-ton shaker
sits dangerously on
a Jenga tower of wood blocks.
If we had one big crane
that could handle
the weight of this,
that would work.
We'll just rig
the crane up on the other side
so we get the skids lined up,
and it'll just pick
and we'll just slide them in.
I'm the wrong person to have
around in these circumstances.
I should probably just
leave you alone for an hour.
I was thinking the same thing.
-Thanks, Jeff.
When you lift, just boom.
It's in the air.
I'm just gonna line things up.
You go down, Jordan.
-Right about there.
-Yeah, that's good.
One done, three to go.
-There it is.
-Yeah.
One more.
-Perfect.
-There you go.
Perfect.
Metal skids attached.
All right, all right.
We got our brand new
wash plant heading out
to the cut.
Mitch is ready to drag
the new plant into
Dominion's money pit.
-All right, take it away.
-Here we go.
This thing still has
the new wash plant
smell to it.
Last thing I want to do
is break this wash plant here
before it's ever seen any dirt
go through it.
For new names,
trying to decide between
Rock Gobbler, Goldy Box,
or Goldy Rocks.
I'm hoping for Goldy Box,
because every time we shut
that thing down,
I want to see a lot of gold.
Steady, steady, steady.
A little bit more.
Stop.
There we go.
Plant in place.
Call it good.
Put this thing together
and get it fired up.
Parker's now one step closer
to shutting down Big Red.
-She's level.-And firing up
his million-dollar
gold-catching machine.
I still got a long way
to go right now to hit
our 1,000 ounce goal.
And I mean,
the weather's really changing.
There's no doubt
about that.
with winter fast approaching,
the clock is running out on
Rick Ness' comeback season.
So far, Rick's brought in
just 461 ounces of gold,
less than half of
his 1,000-ounce season goal.
We were planning on running
Rally Valley with Monster Red
by now,
and we're not.
So at the moment,
most of my crew's still
over keeping the Bench going.
I got Rocky...
To make up for his shortfall,
Rick wants to run Rally Valley
pay dirt as soon as possible.
So he's going to pull his crew
from the Bench cut
and shut down
his other plant, Rocky.
Rocky's been a great plant,
but we can only run about
through that.
And with Monster Red,
you know,
we can run well over 300.
And I know the best gold
we're going to mine all year
is here in Rally Valley.
The whole season's been
leading up to the big ending
here in Rally Valley.
Firing up Monster Red
and putting as much gold
as we can in the box right
before the snow flies.
So I need to get
the whole team over here,
just let them know
what the plan's going to be
for the rest of the year.
Come here, good boy.
Yo.
Hi.
So how's everything
going up there?
Good.
I can't say the same for down
here in Rally Valley.
So we're trucking pay out
of there,
but it just ain't going
quick enough.
And at this point
in the season,
I think it's time to just stop
what we're doing on the Bench,
shut down Rocky,
and just get everybody
in Rally Valley
and focus on getting
Monster Red fired up, so...
How long does it take?
We're still days
and days away from running.
I don't know,
the gold's getting chunkier
and chunkier.
That seems to be, like,
really rich pay.
I don't necessarily want
to stop what
we're doing up there.
I think there's a lot of
opportunity up there,
but I know what's
in Rally Valley.
Five days, man.
That puts us five days
behind here.
I don't know. It's just,
to me, we've been pushing this
off for so long.
Like, when's enough enough?
Well, if this is going
to happen,
it's got to be worth our time.
I mean, I want to see
the week.
Can you do that?
All right.
Talk me into it, Buzz.
All right,
then you grab the 700.
I'll take the 460.
You got five days,
and see how it goes.
Well, that didn't really go
how I planned it.
But there's one thing
I can't argue with,
and that's the opportunity
to keep gold coming in.
So it's over to Buzz,
make it worth it.
Get 100 ounces.
If that happens, then,
you know,
I can take the five-day hit
on Rally Valley.
Sluicing with Rocky,
Foreman Buzz Legault's
best week
at the Bench
is just 75 ounces.
You know, so far,
Rocky's been treating us
very well.
We've been running
it 12 hours a day.
He's been giving us
lots of gold.
Holy .
Okay, let's stop feeding.
That's a gusher, right?
Hey, Rick or Buzz,
could you come down
to the Rocky right now,
please?
While racing
to deliver 100 ounces
this week
from the Bench cut,
the main water line
on Rick's only running
wash plant,
Rocky, has burst.
Water line blew.
I don't have that same kind of
hose to replace that.
I mean,
I've got some lay flat.
But, I mean, I...
Because that lay flat's
not going to be nearly
as strong.
One rock hits
that and it'll puncture it.
We'll have a look at that
and maybe see if we can hang
some kind of a guard
over that.
It's the only plant
we've got running right now,
so we can't afford
to have this thing down.
Once he gets that
attached up there,
I'll string it down to here,
cut it to the right length,
and we'll attach it here.
Got her?
It's all suctioned together.
Should have blown it open.
This hose that we're using
is definitely not as strong
as the stuff that was
on there.
I mean, this is, you know,
this has got wire in it,
nylon.
This is heavy-duty .
There is a chance
this doesn't work.
There's a ton of pressure
coming through this thing.
Hopefully, it's enough
to keep it all together.
Three is the magic number.
Two clamps and it'll blow.
Three, it's gonna hold.
Right, Buzz?
Rule of three.
One more thing.
Just gonna hang a piece of
rubber up there,
right where the rocks
are trying to come off
the prewash and hit it,
so hopefully it's enough
to keep the rocks off it,
keep it from puncturing.
It could not be
more hillbilly.
This is
state-of-the-art, boys.
I think it's as good
as it's going to be.
You want to fire it up, Buzz?
Get some water.
It's working.
And there's no leaks.
Beautiful. I love it.
After losing
several hours in the race
to hit 100 ounces,
Rocky is back to catching
Bench cut gold.
At the moment I got to wonder,
you know,
if it was worth
keeping Rocky going
because we're definitely,
you know, we're going
to start falling behind here
in Rally Valley soon.
I mean,
we're running out of time.
Well, it kind of sucks.
I got to get the hell out
of here.
Eureka Creek,
Brian McCaughan is leaving
his mine site.
We've got such a short season.
It's late in the season,
and we're short manpower,
and I just, I got some
that came up on other sites,
and I got to go.
The McCaughans
have mined just 737 ounces,
less than half of their
We're trying to hit that
and it's like, you know,
me taking off is going
to make it...
definitely a challenge
for the boys.
To keep gold flowing,
Brian's leaving his wife
and two sons in charge
while he's away.
We've got a short season
and we've got a lot of time
to make up,
so hopefully these guys
can bang off
some frickin' good days
of washing.
Want some food, you guys?
Let's go get some food
and wake up the boys.
Hey, Brycey.
You're vertical.
Are you awake?
So it's kind of chaos
this morning.
I know we're short people.
It doesn't help with
Dad being gone.
Like, we need you guys
out there.
Dad's not here.
So you guys have to step up
and take over what
Dad normally does here.
Get some food in your gut
and get out there.
All right?
Working with my mom.
She's not in the cuts.
She's always up at the office,
so she's not right in
our personal space
all the time.
Uh, so which is nice,
'cause she can hound on us
pretty good.
hauls pay to the plant,
while 21-year-old Gage
gets ready to fire up
their trommel, McMitas.
With my dad being gone,
me and my brother
have to look after more.
So we just make sure
nothing blows up.
And mostly just trying to keep
the plant spinning. Whoops.
It's a lot to take on.
All the maintenance is done.
Ready for a fire up
right away.
To hit
their season goal,
the brothers need to pull in
at least 130 ounces this week.
Hey, Wayne,
you copy, Wayne?
Yeah, go for Wayne.
Something's up with
the gearbox here.
We got a belt loose.
Okay, on my way down.
I noticed the gearbox
is out of place here,
belt's loose,
and I saw some belts flip up
and start slipping,
so we're gonna shut down.
We got our thumbs up our asses
right now.
What's wrong, Gage?
If you can take a look here,
on the bottom looks like
the bolt snapped or
something there.
Oh, I see you got a turnbuckle
that came loose.
The torque arm that actually
holds the gearbox in position
has come disconnected.
The result is this morning
that we're not able
to fire up.
The McCaughans
Wash Plant has a gearbox
with a torque arm
that keeps its belts
tight enough to spin
the trommel's barrel.
But the arm has fallen out,
making the gearbox drop,
the belt slack and slip on
the drive wheel.
To fix it, Gage must reattach
the bar and re-tension
the belts until there's enough
power being transferred
from the motor to the gearbox
to get the trommel
spinning again.
So what we're going to do
is dig out the dirt.
We're getting closer here.
I still got too much mud.
I just got to pull
a tiny bit out.
Okay.
Might be able to get that
to thread in now.
Okay, well,
stick it in the hole.
Okay.
I'm hand tight here.
Are you through with
the threads on that?
Tight.
Okay, belts are good.
So we're ready to fire up
and start washing some
rocks again.
Okay, you ready for water?
Ready for water.
Yeah, there we go.
Finally sluicing.
The McCaughan brothers
need to step it up
if they are to hit
their 130-ounce target.
My dad being gone
is a bit of a pain.
Fortunately,
nothing's seriously broken.
We always have
this saying where it's right
when he leaves,
destruction happens.
So, yeah, that really
us up.
We're behind.
We'll catch up, hopefully.
But we definitely lost time.
Foreman Buzz Lago is digging
Bench cut pay
and sending it down to Rocky
in a race to hit 100 ounces
in just five days.
Right now, Rocky is
our only moneymaker.
You know, that's the only way
we're getting gold in the box
is from Rocky since
Rally Valley's not ready
to go.
Operator Bailey Carten feeds
pay dirt through Rocky,
while Trey Charlie clears away
coarse tailings.
Yeah, so today me and Bailey
are busy running material
through the wash plant
in Rocky, you know,
Buzz found a really good
spot up on the Bench cut
that has really nice
chunky gold in it.
What the is this code?
Shut down engine.
Oh, for sakes, man.
I really don't need
this right now.
Hey, Ryan, buddy,
can you come take a look
at this loader, please?
I have to shut her down
right where she's at.
Yeah, yeah, no problem.
What do you got going on?
Yeah, it just told me to
shut off the engine
right where it's at,
so that's what I did.
All right, man,
I'll be right down.
An electronic
error code has shut down
Trey's loader,
and no other machine
is available
to haul away tailings.
Hey, can you hear me, Bailey?
Yeah, go ahead, big fella.
Hey, buddy, my loader's down.
Um...
I got Ryan coming down to
look at it,
but I hope he can get it
before these tailings
build up.
Yeah, man, we probably
only got 20 minutes before
we have to shut down
the plant.
We can't waste any time.
What's going on, dude?
Yeah, so this thing's throwing
a couple of codes.
-Okay.
-It's telling me to shut
the engine off.
Is it running weird
or anything?
It seems underpowered.
And yeah, it seems like
it's having a tough time
digging.
Okay. Well, the best thing
I can do is get it plugged in.
We'll see what
it's trying to tell us.
And we'll see if
we can't hurry up before
the plant gets shut down.
-All right, you bet.
-Thanks, dude.
Everything nowadays
is computer driven.
So if we're going to get
our tech tool plugged in,
we're going to see what
the machine is trying
to tell us.
Internal sensors
identify breakdowns as codes,
which mechanic Ryan uses
to identify the problem.
Looks like we got
a current below
our open circuit
for injector number three.
It could be a quick fix,
or you could have a whole
wiring harness apart trying
to find one break.
So better jump down there
and get to work real quick
before we have to shut down.
An open circuit
happens when a wire
is disconnected or breaks,
stopping power flow
through the machine's
electrical systems.
Everything points to
injector number three
for being low on
the resistance testing.
I noticed these pins were
kind of spread out.
So you got your female,
you got your male pin
bouncing around.
Eventually now it's loose,
so you're not going to make
good connection.
So I'm going to tighten up
these pins
and see if we can get Trey
back to work.
Ryan's theory,
a loose connection pin
in the wiring harness
is causing a fuel injector
to malfunction,
decreasing power to
the loader's engine
and stalling the machine.
Yeah,
we are running out of time.
The tailings are about
touching the chute.
Shut that hood.
Let me plug it in while
you're doing it.
Let me jump up one second.
The code went inactive.
You got full throttle again.
All right,
see what you can do.
-Thanks, dude. Thank you.
-Yeah, man, no problem.
Oh, cutting it close.
Yeah, it looks like we managed
just to get it done in time.
Let's just cross our fingers
this pin stays tight
and keep it working,
but looks like he's up
to speed right now.
That was a close one.
The tailings are building up,
but we got the loader back up
and running,
and I got some work
cut out for me.
Ryan's quick fix
keeps Buzz in the game.
I'm gonna shut
this thing down.
This thing is shut down.
We're gonna put Big Red to bed
for the winter
and try our new wash plant
on some new ground
and see how disastrous
that turns out.
It's been a long time
since we've done
something stupid,
so we might as well try that.
After shutting down
Parker's most reliable plant,
Big Red...
We're working on the pipeline.
Bring her a little closer.
The pressure is on
his new, untested wash plant
-to not only work...
-Make sure she's tight.
...but start catching Parker
more Dominion Creek gold.
That's the one. We're good.
We got our water pump in.
The line's installed.
We've got the shaker deck,
the conveyors.
Let's do this.
It looks like a nice setup.
Brand new plant here.
You got to watch out
for everything.
So we're going to have
a lot of eyes on it here.
We're going to put
the water to it.
Hopefully that goes well.
If it does,
then we're going to start
adding dirt and see
how it responds.
But there's so many things
going on here,
there's a lot to look out for.
-Ready for water?
-Yeah.
Let's do it.
Water coming your way.
Really nice,
even water out of there.
That is.
All right, all right.
Get this thing shaking.
Let's do it!
Why do we got nothing
going on here?
We got no shaker!
Did you try the reset?
Do we not have any power?
We got nothing up here,
because not even
the emergency stops lit up.
Screwdriver?
Screwdriver.
The man with the tools.
Let's see if we got anything
coming in there.
Right now,
we're just checking voltage,
seeing what we got here.
And we've got power
coming into it.
The new shaker deck
is powered by a three-phase
that supplies a lethal amount
of electricity
to the control panel.
Turn that breaker off.
There we go.
I'm glad I didn't touch
the wrong thing.
Smoke would have been coming
out of your fingertips there.
Is any of this tripped?
Are those supposed to be
red or green?
-You would think green
should be on.
-Let's try this.
Then it comes down to this.
Oh, yeah, that popped.
We're live now.
We have power going through
the main breaker.
-We got it.
-Start it up.
A simple flip of
the internal breakers
has reset the shaker motor.
Let's throw some dirt at it,
I think.
And the plant is ready
to rock.
All right,
we got the shaker shaking.
We're going to add
some dirt here,
see what we got.
What's leaking?
It's like sh**ting back
on that side.
We got some water leaking out
of the bottom of the prewash.
Damn.
We got a Victaulic here
that's flowed out.
Shut it down.
Well, that's not what
we wanted.
We got a bunch of water
pouring out.
At Dominion's
money pit, after replacing
his old reliable wash plant,
Parker's first fire up
on the new shaker
has just ended in disaster.
If we let that keep running
like that,
it's going to wash
the bank out here
and take the wash plant
with it.
The idea of this new
wash plant was
to speed us up down here,
but we're still messing around
with things.
If we would have just brought
Big Red over here,
we could have had it running
one shift.
It's really a pretty janky
setup at the moment.
And it's not working,
which is very frustrating,
'cause
it's holding up sluicing,
and it really can't be.
Oh, there must be
a fitting loose.
Was it this one or that one?
A faulty hose clamp
has burst a water line.
Oh, yeah.
no.
This is just a little
too short.
Okay, and there's, like,
a maybe half-inch gap.
I don't think we're going
to get it closed up.
Parker discovers
the spray bar hose
is too short,
causing it to leak.
Oh, we could turn that
spray bar off, though.
-Like that entire bar?
-Yeah.
But let's just turn
the spray bar off
and try this again.
We got a fitting
that's leaking on the plant,
and what we're going
to do is just shut
that spray bar off.
We want to see
if there's anything else
we got to work on.
Bypass is closed.
That fixed
most of it.
Laurie, we'd like some dirt,
please.
Hit the conveyors.
Spin them up.
Finally,
after two long years,
Parker's custom wash plant
is sluicing pay dirt,
giving him a chance
to catch even more gold
in the final weeks of
the season.
Thanks for getting this done.
It's a nice setup.
I like the plant.
I know there's always
going to be a few quirks
to work out,
but I like it so far.
Well, she's going
to take some fine tuning,
but it's washing rocks.
Our goal is 1,500 ounces,
and at this rate,
we're not making it.
If something breaks down,
we're kind of .
To reach
their family's 1,500-ounce
season goal,
Gage and Bryce McCaughan
need to make up for lost time.
Hey.
So that gearbox caused us
some issues, right?
So we're behind now.
We need to catch up.
I'll do the night shift.
Yeah, we got to keep
the gold coming in, so...
Dad's not here.
He's not making any calls,
so I think he would like that
night shift idea.
Yeah, just do night shift.
Just got to make sure
someone's up
for the morning meeting
to tell everyone what to do.
Okay, so that's the plan.
Night shift.
Hmm.
Sure.
-See you later.
-See ya.
If the brothers
can pull it off,
their night shift gamble
could double their gold haul
by the time
their father returns.
We really need this
night shift to work
'cause our production is
pretty well halfed right now.
So if we're doubling
production,
we should get double the gold.
So when my dad comes back,
I want to just be like,
"Hey, you should go look
in the vault."
And when he goes to look at
the vault,
there's a big stack of gold
there in the pan.
I'm just heading down
to the wash plant
to the feed hoe.
I'm going to be feeding
tonight.
Bryce
has volunteered to take
the first night shift.
-How's it going?
-You ready for your shift?
Yeah, I guess so.
Hopefully the cleanup's
looking good tomorrow
and my door's always open.
-Yeah, go get some sleep.
-Yeah.
So you can haul me some
more pay tomorrow.
We'll just see how long
we can keep this
night shift going.
Every night we do
is another day,
so it's doubling
the production right now.
This night shift will mean
more hours on the plant.
It's getting colder at night.
See how that goes,
but working in the dark
really gets to you.
It makes you tired,
makes you groggy.
I just got to sit up here
and feed all night.
I'll be doing the tailings
whenever I have a break
and fueling up or whatever
I have to do.
Short on crew members.
Bryce works alone
feeding the plant
and clearing away tailings
every hour.
I'm not sure how
I feel right now.
I'm just a little bit
out of it.
I'll probably be tired
for a few days here,
getting acclimated to it.
Time to get back and check out
what the boys accomplished.
They didn't call me
for any panic,
so hopefully they knocked it
out of the park.
I don't hear no trommel
spinning.
Hopefully they're doing
a cleanup,
but it's not the right time.
Holy .
What happened there?
It's my fault.
I fell asleep on the job.
And, of course,
tailings piled up right up
into the trommel.
It's an expensive up.
When Bryce
finally woke up,
he continued to feed the plant
without clearing away
the tailings.
The rocks piled up,
blocked the barrel,
and ground the trommel
to a stop.
So I just woke up,
and I looked at the back,
and I just saw a massive pile
of cores.
And I saw the trommel
just stop spinning.
That's gonna be
a full day of all of us
shoveling in this drum.
It's just every day
we lose is just getting us
further and further away
from our goal.
So that's not quite
what we were hoping for
for our night shift.
Bryce is so hard
on himself that I didn't have
to say a word.
I've been on night shift
many times.
I've whitewashed
more than once.
The key is let's get rolling
as fast as we can.
Okay, well,
we'll walk the mini hoe in,
scoop what we can, and then,
I don't see a choice, we're
gonna have to shovel.
-Let's get at her.
-Hammer it.
Wayne, we've had
some challenges,
but this is crazy.
That's the most
I've ever seen in my life.
Clogged with up to
it will take the entire crew
shoveling all day to clear it.
-They're wasting their time.
-Hey, hey!
You're wasting your time
down there.
You know what we have to do?
Get this dug down
so water can hit it.
Turn on the water,
it'll flush it all out.
The water idea sounds good.
I think we put the pump
on there and she'll flush
like a toilet.
-Okay, man.
-Okay, let's fire that
water pump up then.
If it works,
Brian's plan to run water
through the trommel
and flush out the pay dirt
will save eight hours
of shoveling
and get the McCaughans
back on the gold.
Okay, Elaine,
you can let her go.
Just start at an idle.
That's just a ton of material
to move by hand.
So we're gonna fire up
the pump and try and flush it,
and we'll get in the drum
and just help it.
Close the bypass.
Bypass is closed.
Here comes the water, boys.
Okay, guys, shovel with it.
It's working great.
Power of water, baby!
Aw, it's father and son
bonding time.
I'm dry, he's wet.
That's what he gets.
Man, that would've taken
forever to shovel out.
That was a lot of material.
It was pretty frickin'
stressful.
I just gotta suck it up and...
Yeah, I mean, it's...
Good freaking job
taking accountability.
Yeah.
That's all I can expect
from you, man.
Still worked
the night shift, man.
I'm happy.
You guys are doing what
nobody else wants to do, so.
I'll be back on night shift
in a few hours, I guess.
I'll stick around
until it fires up,
see how everything goes.
We got extra bodies.
Don't worry about that, man.
Go get some sleep.
We're going to hit
our 1,500 ounces
if it kills us.
That's sweet.
Trommel spinning,
the McCaughan brothers
are back on the gold.
At first, I was
definitely really pissed off
at my brother.
But honestly,
it's embarrassing as
what he did.
Like, it really is.
So the fact that
he stayed up and helped us
redeems himself a little bit.
I don't know what else
I could have asked for.
There's gold in the box.
We're running 24 hours.
I mean, it's great.
We're good to go.
Let's make some money.
That's it for
the season on Red.
So we're going to do
the final cleanup.
At Dominion Creek.
See all the gold in here?
All these little specks,
it's all gold
through this whole panel
all the way down.
Parker's crew are cleaning out
Big Red for the season.
-It's crazy, right?
-Mitch is at home crying.
-Yeah.
Everybody's sad to see Big Red
-go to sleep for a while.
-Yeah.
Over the course
of nine seasons...
The first thing we're gonna do
is rinse it,
then we'll break it down,
then we'll bring in the tanks.
Big Red has hauled in
an astonishing 32,000 ounces
of gold worth over
$64 million.
I love Big Red.
She does her job very well.
If all of us could do
our job like Big Red,
we'd be superheroes.
Buzz, Buzz, Buzz, Buzz.
Rick and his crew are about
to learn if the gamble to mine
the Bench cut for another
five days has paid off.
Like I said, we need
We never got 100 ounces
all year.
We needed
a perfect week, so...
Did we get it?
To hit
his 1,000-ounce target,
Rick must average
in the home stretch.
Here we go. You ready?
One, two, 15, 20, 40, 55,
-Oh, man. Oh, man.
- That's impressive.
Worth over
$183,000,
bringing Rick's total
to 552.96 ounces.
It's not 100.
But it's a hell of
a good week.
So...
It's our best week.
Yes, it is.
You went with your gut there
and did pay off.
So it's hard for me to be
upset with you, Buzz.
-Good call.
-Yeah.
Good call.
We're over halfway
to our goal now.
We'll have to celebrate that.
I'm optimistic about the Bench
because of this.
I mean, for one thing,
Rally Valley's not ready yet.
I'm happy we did
another week there.
If we stick it out for
one more week
and get a week's worth of
running, get a 100-ounce bonus
before we get to Rally Valley,
then I'll feel
even better about that move.
And then let's bring that
momentum into Rally Valley.
- right.
-Yeah.
-Thanks, guys.
Let's go.
Well, it's a bit of a risk,
sitting on the Bench
for another week,
but that's a good decision
on Buzz's part.
I'll take that as a win.
I guess we had a bit of
a disaster there.
Yeah, so falling asleep
cost us some gold there
for the season.
Bet you won't do
that again, hey?
No.
As long as we learn
from our mistakes,
that's all that matters,
right?
Take responsibility
for what you do.
Yeah.
Well, I think we weigh it up
and find out where we're at.
Okay, who's doing it? Brycey?
Okay.
You're night shift,
so night shift has a lot
to do with this.
If it wasn't for night shift,
we wouldn't have this much.
The brothers
continued running another
three night shifts,
trying to hit their 130-ounce
weekly target.
-70. 90.
-Got a bigger tray.
-100.
-You can put some at
the front.
-He's got to get it all out.
-147.9.
Worth nearly $300,000.
And that means
this grand total is 885.2.
Way to go, boys.
Way to go.
We have 614.80 left
this season,
so can we do that?
Yeah, with night shift,
for our hours in the plant,
we can do it.
It's sure rewarding for us
as parents,
six of you guys doing it
and taking care of business.
Good job.
But the boys stepped right up.
We got the night shift going.
With the night shift going,
we should get the numbers up.
We should be able
to reach our goal.
We're aiming for that 1500,
and I think this is gonna
do it.
I mean, I'm 100% happy.
It's nice having that
new plant fired up,
shaker deck shaking,
and oh, it needs a name.
It needs a name?
I'm, I'm really thinking
that the old Goldie Box
-is quite fitting for that.
-Do you like Goldie Box?
I just feel like in a year,
I'm going to not like
saying that.
-You got any ideas, T?
-Not really.
I haven't really been
around it enough.
I do like Roxanne for
a wash plant, right?
'Cause it's like rock
and sand, you know?
-It's kind of what
we make there.
-Yeah.
-Roxanne.
-Roxanne.
-Roxanne?
-Yeah.
The real question is,
is the gold still coming in?
You want to see
what Australia did?
First up, the gold from
the second section
of the Boomerang cut
at Australia Creek.
Here we go.
Last week,
it delivered 103 ounces.
-200.
-Oh, yeah.
-214.65.
-Not bad.
Worth nearly $430,000.
How'd old Big Red finish out,
though?
So, Mitch, this is your baby.
We're gonna put her to bed.
Here we go.
There's 50.
There's 100.
yeah,
Big Red, finishing strong.
How about this new
wash plant, Roxanne?
Parker's new plant,
Roxanne, ran for two days.
To bring in 25% more gold
than Big Red,
it needs over 150 ounces.
The new wash plant.
Not a lot of time,
but we got 30, 35, 40...
But that's pretty bad,
I do wonder now
if that wash plant is
the right call to make.
Time will tell.
Our season total...
We broke the 5,000 mark,
you guys.
Cheers.
That's pretty cool, man.
Thanks to Big Red's
massive final haul,
-Well done.-Parker has passed
his season goal early.
A little sad to see Big Red
shut down for the season,
but, man, it put in some time
and found some gold.
And there's time
in the season left.
Well, what's
the new goal then?
We know we've spent
more money than what
-Yeah.
-5,000 ounces is going
to cover.
We bought a lot of gear,
and then we have this payment
to Dean this fall.
I mean, I don't know how
unrealistic 7,000 ounces is.
A 7,000-ounce goal
would bring in $14 million,
nearly paying off
Parker's Dominion purchase
in his first year
of operation.
to be tough, but...
It might be doable.
You just raised the bar
pretty high.
Should we get back
at her, Mitch?
Yeah, we better.
But honestly, like,
good job, guys.
-Thanks, man.
-Yeah.
-7,000. Let's go get her.
-Sounds good.
Our new wash plant, Roxanne,
is off to a great start.
We got a new goal here,
We're going to go try
and make it happen.
