PW: The m*rder at French restaurant Très Bien remains shrouded in mystery.

PW: The strange bottle found in the kitchen,

PW: the chief Armstrong's massive debt,

PW: the program the victim wrote, worth hundreds of millions,

PW: and the shadow of the Cadaverini Group looming over the incident...

PW: And I finally identified my impostor.

PW: I'll settle everything today.

PW: The fateful trial begins now!

MB: Good morning!

PW: Hey, you seem chipper this morning.

Title: Recipe for Turnabout — Last Trial

MB: I don't know about chipper. I've just let it all go.

PW: Wait, what?

Gum: Hey, pals!

MB: I'll be going ahead.

Gum: Maggey...

Gum: R-Right.

Gum: We got the analysis results back from the lab.

Maya: Is it the poison?!

Gum: I'm afraid not. It's topical medication for ears.

PW: Which means...

Gum: It's the medication prescribed to Glen Elg for his ruptured eardrum.

PW: What was the victim's ear medicine doing in the kitchen?

Gum: It had some unknown fingerprints on it.

Gum: They're being analyzed, so I'll head to the precinct and get back with the results.

Gum: Later!

PW: What is it?

Gum: So, how'd it go with the lunch I made?

PW: U-Uh...

Maya: It was great!

Gum: Really? Glad to hear it!

Maya: Wait, that's not what I meant...

MB: I hate weenies.

MB: You can have this, Maya.

Gum: Here!

Gum: An extra-large lunch box with more!

Gum: Well, finish this case today.

PW: Anyway, that man holds all the keys.

PW: I have to drag him out, no matter what.

Sign: November , : AMDistrict Court — Courtroom no.

J: Court is now in session for the trial of Maggey Byrde.

J: Yesterday, we heard the testimony of Victor Kudo.

J: He claims to have witnessed the defendant putting a powder in the victim's coffee.

J: However, the witness's testimony was plagued with a number of problems.

God: He testified that the victim picked up his coffee cup with his left hand.

God: But the mark on the rim of the cup shows that he drank from it with his right hand.

PW: Furthermore, according to his account,

PW: the victim was listening to the radio with an earphone in his left ear.

J: The victim's left eardrum was ruptured. He couldn't have heard through it.

God: Let's first get to the bottom of all these contradictions.

God: Understood?

J: Very well. Let the witness take the stand.

Arm: Bonjour!

Arm: I am Jean Armstrong!

Arm: I'm a chef!

God: On the day of the incident, you were in Très Bien's kitchen.

God: Isn't that right?

Arm: Oh la la!

Arm: W'iz you, I wouldn't mind making a mistake.

Arm: Oh la la!

God: Another day, another bitter mug.

J: Your testimony please, witness.

PW: Mr. Armstrong, please tell the court what happened that day at Très Bien.

PW: Truthfully.

Arm: O-Oui. Z'at afternoon,

Arm: la victim, Monsieur Elg, came to my restaurant alone.

Arm: Old Man Kudo arrived not long after 'im.

Arm: When 'e got word 'e won la lottery, Monsieur Elg became very excited.

Arm: And around five minutes later, la incident occurred.

Sign: Objection!

PW: Objection!

PW: That's not going to fly, Mr. Armstrong.

PW: Que?!

PW: The victim was listening to a program called Millionaire Radio that day.

: It starts every week at : PM and goes for ten minutes.

Arm: What about it?

PW: Meanwhile, Mr. Kudo said...

Kud: Sheesh, way to ruin my javaccino time.

Mia: Javaccino time?

Kud: It's become a daily routine to enjoy a cup of javaccino there at PM every day.

PW: That's right. He said PM.

Millionaire_Radi,Sign: Millionaire RadioLottery Ticket

PW: If the incident occurred five minutes after the victim won the lottery,

PW: Mr. Kudo could not have witnessed it.

PW: Because he wouldn't have been in the restaurant at that time!

Arm: No!

PW: The earphone in the ear he couldn't hear out of,

Millionaire_Radi,Sign: Millionaire Radio

PW: the radio program that should've been long over...

PW: There is one very simple answer that clears up all these contradictions.

PW: What Mr. Kudo witnessed was a fake m*rder!

God: A fake, you say?

J: Then the witness was right about the earphone in the left ear?

PW: It wasn't a perfect reenactment.

PW: The k*ller didn't know about the victim's ruptured eardrum.

Sign: Objection!

God: Objection!

God: Reenacted the m*rder?

God: Let me ask you, then.

God: When the fake was putting on act for the old man, where was the real Glen Elg?

PW: He'd already been poisoned to death.

God: But that would've left a body.

God: Surely it couldn't have been left lying there.

PW: That's why the k*ller concealed it

PW: in Très Bien's kitchen.

PW: Mr. Armstrong, do you recognize this bottle?

Arm: Non, non! I only use la very cutest bottles!

PW: This one was found in Très Bien's kitchen.

Arm: Eh? Quoi?!

PW: Analysis showed that it's medicine the victim was prescribed at the ear clinic.

: Wh-What?

PW: It must've fallen out of his pocketwhile his body was hidden there.

PW: Mr. Armstrong!

PW: Weren't you in the kitchen when the incident occurred?

Arm: M-M-Mon dieu...

PW: Right after the incident, Victor Kudo left the scene to call the cops.

PW: The k*ller put those ten minutes to good use.

Gob: He returned the real body to the table

Gob: and put the bottle of poison in the unconscious defendant's pocket, huh?

PW: Mr. Armstrong, only you could have done it!

Arm: Non!

J: This is an extraordinary development.

J: Witness, did you m*rder Glen Elg?

Arm: N-Never! Non, non!

God: I make lying scum down a boiling-hot cup of coffee,

God: along with the cup itself.

Arm: Je vous demande pardon! Please, you must 'ear me out!

J: Very well.

J: But you will tell the truth this time.

Arm: Oui. It is clear.

Arm: It is true, I 'id la body in la kitchen.

Arm: A man forced me to do it. I had no choice.

Maya: And then you waited for Old Seedy to show up

Maya: and reenacted the m*rder.

Arm: But I did not k*ll 'im!

Arm: I swear it! You must believe me!

God: Who was this nice guy who forced you to do it?

Arm: I-I cannot say. Or I will be erased.

PW: Mr. Armstrong, there is one person you cannot defy

PW: as long as this exists.

Loan_Bond__Mil,Sign: Loan Bond$,Name: Jean Armstrong

PW: You owe five hundred thousandto a black market loan shark.

PW: That's why you had to do as he said.

PW: Isn't that right?

Arm: S-Say what you want, I can neither confirm nor deny!

J: Who was it?

J: Who was this man who ordered you?

PW: The owner of the black market financing firm Tender Lender,

PW: a.k.a. the Tiger.

PW: It was him!

God: I figured this would happen and already called the wild tiger in.

Default - italics: ,I finally dragged you out!

J: Er, Mr. The Tiger, was it?

Fur: You think that's a name?!

Fur: Who the hell called me,the great Furio Tigre, to dis hole?!

God: There's no point in shouting.

God: You've been trapped

God: in the cage known as the court of law.

God: Let's start with the basics.

God: What do you know about the incident in question?

Fur: I don't know nuthin'!

God: Did you attend Maggey Byrde's triala month ago as a spectator?

Fur: I've got more important things to do than watch courtroom dramas.

Fur: Listen up, smarty.

Fur: I'll bill you fifty Ks each time you ask me some'ding unrelated to dis case,

Fur: and youse gonna borrow it from me!

Maya: Hang in there, Nick!

PW: Oh, come on.

PW: Mr. Tigre, on the day of the m*rder,

PW: you'd made plans to meet Glen Elg at Très Bien.

Fur: I don't know nuthin' about it or dat kid.

Fur: And what the hell's Très Bien?

PW: You're lying.

Fur: What?

October__Oka_Tr,Sign: October ElgTrès Bien

PW: Here's a note you wrote.

Fur: You! Where'd you get dat?

V: Here. Take these.

V: Don Tigre...

V: Watch your back.

PW: These are Viola's medical papers.

Maya: Why did she give us these?

Maya: Watch your back?

Maya: Check... the back?

PW: This is...

PW: This is decisive proof that you had plans to meet the victim there that day!

God: Looks like I can enjoy a hot one.

Fur: That dumb broad...

Fur: So what if I'd made plans to meet dat kid?

God: Have you forgotten the old man's testimony yesterday?

God: The victim was alone at his table.

PW: Did you forget the defendant's testimony?

PW: She has testified that there was another man at the table.

J: Which one is the truth?

Maya: Which is true?

PW: They're both true.

PW: The incident the victim experienced

PW: and the incident Mr. Kudo witnessed

PW: were two completely different events.

God: You're saying it was a setup to frame the lady?

PW: Yes. The "victim" Mr. Kudo saw wasa phony pretending to be Glen Elg.

PW: And that phony was you,

PW: Furio Tigre!

Fur: Darn you!

J: Order! Or I'll throw you out!

God: Stop banging. Maybe you should leave.

PW: The defendant fell unconscious immediately after the incident.

PW: And someone used her fainting to hatch an elaborate plan to frame her!

God: The big tiger here pretended to be the victim, huh?

God: Then who played the role of the waitress poisoning the coffee?

PW: Viola Cadaverini,an employee of Tender Lender.

Fur: Youse makin' a huge mistake with Violetta...

Fur: The two of them set up the fake m*rder together!

Sign: Objection!

God: Objection!

God: Jumping to conclusions doesn't look good, you know?

PW: What do you mean?

God: You're overlooking a crucial detail.

God: There's no way this tiger here could've poisoned the victim.

Fur: That's right.

Fur: He won a five hundred thousandlottery that day.

Fur: I only lent him a hundred thousand.

Fur: If he could repay that,I'd have no reason to k*ll him.

PW: Well, you see, a hundred thousand wasn't nearly enough.

Fur: S-Say what?

PW: About six months ago, you caused a traffic accident.

PW: The victim was Viola Cadaverini,

PW: granddaughter of the Cadaverini Group's boss.

PW: To pay for her surgery, you were asked to fork over a million dollars.

PW: This is her medical file!

PW: Your life was in danger unless you paid compensation to the boss.

PW: You had to arrange that million by any means necessary.

God: But even if he k*lled Glen Elg and took his lottery ticket,

God: he still wouldn't have reached a million.

PW: He wasn't after the money.

God: What?

MC_b*mber,Sign: MC b*mber

PW: This is MC b*mber,

PW: a computer virus written by the victim.

Fur: Th-That's...

PW: Glen Elg was a highly skilled programmer.

PW: That skill was the collateral when you lent him that money.

PW: I hear this program is worth millions of dollars.

J: M-Millions?

PW: If you could get your hands on it, you could pay off that million.

PW: That's what you thought.

PW: That's why, on that day,

PW: when he won that five hundred thousandlottery, meaning you couldn't get that CD,

PW: you went to your last resort.

PW: You m*rder*d Glen Elg and stole the CD!

PW: And you tried to frame the defendant for the crime!

PW: However, that's not all you did.

PW: You posed as me in the trial one month ago.

J: Wh-What? It was him?

PW: He stood in court as the defendant's defense and led her to a guilty verdict!

J: Now that you mention it,

J: I get the feeling it was you.

Fur: I wouldn't do somethin' like that. Not me.

God: This is as far as you go, huh?

Maya: Nick...

PW: I'm so close, but I lack the evidence to clinch it!

Gum: Hold it, pal!

Maya: Detective Gumshoe!

PW: Detective Gumshoe!

Gum: I've brought the final, decisive piece of evidence!

Gum: All in the name of love!

J: What?!

MB: Detective!

Gum: That bottle had Furio Tigre's fingerprints on it!

Maya: We did it, Nick!

Maya: Nick?

PW: Unfortunately, this means nothing anymore.

PW: It's not strange for Tigre's prints to be on the victim's medicine bottle.

PW: He's already admitted he met the victim that day.

Maya: Wh-What?!

PW: I can't prove my case with evidence.

PW: How can I get out of this desperate situation?

PW: Think, Phoenix Wright!

Maya: Nick...

Fur: What? Youse done already?

J: But it's unclear what that bottle has to do with the m*rder.

PW: That's it!

PW: This is the defense's final piece of evidence.

Fur: What's so great about that tiny li'l bottle?

PW: This is the bottle containing the potassium cyanide that took the victim's life.

Gum: Wh-What are you...

PW: The bottle containing the poison used to m*rder Glen Elg

PW: had your fingerprints on it.

Gum: Wait, but that bottle...

Fur: You'd make a good clown, Phoenix Wright.

Fur: You' think a cheap bluff like that's gonna fool the Tiger?

PW: What do you mean?

Fur: The cyanide bottle was brown and made of glass!

Fur: That cheap piece of trash don't look nothin' like it!

PW: Got him.

God: So that's your game.

Fur: Wh-What?

Fur: Why's everyone gone quiet?

PW: Mr. Tigre, is this the bottle you're referring to?

Fur: Yeah! That's it!

Fur: But youse ain't gonna find my prints on that bottle!

Fur: Don't let this lawyer fool you people!

Fur: Hey, prosecutor! Tell him!

God: Do you still not realize what you just said?

Fur: Wh-What? What do you mean?

PW: You were summoned to this court for the first time earlier today.

PW: If you really had nothing to do with the m*rder,

PW: you wouldn't know the little details.

PW: Like, for instance, what kind of bottle the poison was in.

PW: You just described the exact bottle with the poison!

Fur: N-No! I know! I saw it in the trial a month ago!

J: True, the bottle was presented as evidence in the last trial.

PW: However, you declared that you neither saw nor heard about that trial!

Fur: It's true!

Fur: One month ago, I stood where youse standin', as the defense lawyer.

Fur: That's when I saw that brown bottle.

Maya: S-So it was him!

God: So you're admitting that you were the fake Trite?

Fur: Th-That's right!

Fur: I ain't the k*ller! I only saw the bottle durin' the trial!

Sign: Objection!

PW: Objection!

PW: Then let me ask you. Why did you do that?

PW: What is the reason why you pretended to be an attorney and twisted the truth?

Fur: W-Well...

PW: There's only one plausible reason...

PW: You were the k*ller!

PW: Mr. Tigre...

PW: Sure, the last piece of evidence was phony.

PW: But that's just what you deserve!

PW: The phony trial with a phony lawyer...

PW: It was all played out by you, the biggest phony of all!

J: The whole truth has come to light once and for all!

J: The defendant, Maggey Byrde is...

Sign: Not Guilty

J: Not guilty!

Fur: Why?

Fur: Why'd you sell me out?

V: Because I'm a Cadaverini.

V: We always get our payback.

Fur: I ain't gonna get mad at you, Violetta.

V: I was so happy.

V: Don Tigre...

Fur: I'd do anythin' for you. You' too cute.

Fur: Damn it!

Fur: This is all that gloomy b*tch's fault!

Fur: I'm off, then...

Fur: Violetta.

V: Don Tigre...

MB: Thank you, sir!

MB: You've saved me not once, but twice!

Maya: Congrats, Maggey!

Maya: Here, to celebrate the verdict!

MB: Like I said, weenies aren't...

PW: Detective Gumshoe really saved our skins in the clutch.

PW: He frantically investigatedthis case for your sake.

PW: And right in the very end, he brought the evidence that finished that guy off.

Maya: Go on, dig in.

MB: Maya, let's go halfsies!

Maya: Sure.

MB: Actually, I really love weenies!

Gum: All right!

Gum: This is fine! Congrats, Maggey!

PW: And so, the case filled with fakes came to an end.

PW: The lies surrounding Maggey have all been cleared up.

PW: And this time, a new chapter of her life will truly begin.
