we're about to go on our big retreat,

Even though Rockin' Grandma's wasn't a real company,

You showed that you had a deep affection

No matter what we threw at you, you kept your cool.

You calmly took on the role of Captain Fun

when your boss left the retreat on the very first day.

You saw me as a person and not some older lady

and that means the world to me.

And the amount of love that you gave everybody here,

made my heart so huge and happy.

And I'm just grateful for you. You are a fine, fine man,

for me to have this experience,

it seemed like people were coming out

to being in a TV show?

We are scouting Oak Canyon
which will be our home for this season.

In the first season of Jury Duty, we had
to worry about essentially three rooms.

And now, we have a site that is ten times that size.

It will be the basis of the retreat.

Thinking about doing a yurt with a roof piece.

I have some renders here.

[Nicholas] We need to build a huge amount
in addition to the existing structures

to allow us to cover the story lines we have planned,

as well as accommodate the entire cast and hero

that are staying on site throughout the sh**t.

It's a massive undertaking.

We're building a fake world they'll all be living in.

and start the morning meeting.

I'm gonna make an executive call

and think we should probably wait
for my dad before we get started.

No, I thought otherwise. People talk about how they slept.

I'm Helen Schaffer. I've been here
since 1999, which is 26 years.

- I was the first employee Doug called.
- It's true.

And I was surprised that people did not
like the honey butter chips from Korea.

I thought it'd be a hit, but you know, we learn.

[all laughing]

And at five o'clock, I'm out!

I'm picking up the twins from soccer, karate.

On Fridays, we go to church.

- [Helen] Amen.

Before doing this show,
I sort of had the misconception that like,

if you show up and sort of mutter some
improv within earshot of a normal person,

that there's a show.

Quite to the contrary, this show,
it involves very precise work.

We knew that our cameras were here, here and here,

you're coming in and talking to hero, right?

Part of your job before you get into the scene is,

you keep talking to him, right? [Mumbling]

You're talking like this because now hero
is going to talk to me this way, right?

And now, we can see the hero, right?

Your blocking has to be very precise in certain cases.

I think it's just a twisty.

Kevin, slide to your left, slide to your left.

[Kevin] Aw, man.

It was actually more like doing
a stage musical, at certain points,

than doing an improv show.

Just for sheer precision.

- [Dougie] Dad, don't do it!
- [panting]

Go, stop him. Slap the pen out of his hand.

[Doug] Hey, what's going on?

[all laughing]

- If you can face us...
- Okay.

- That'd be a funny place to panic.
- Okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

And then we see you like this, right?

You're looking at us going, "What? No, no, no!"

Like, trying to move and you kinda can't move.

- Okay.
- Okay, Jackie!

Oh, God! What is my Black a*s doing here?

- [crew members] Yes!
- [applause]

[Charlie] Pull the top, pull the top.

[Dougie] I almost just [bleep] destroyed Max.

To prepare for the battle that happens in the Dougcathlon,

Wendy, who plays Elizabeth, and I met with Charlie,

who's the stunt coordinator on this.

The hardest part of rehearsing for that was doing it

while balancing on the inflatable course.

- [Charlie] Yeah.
- Wow. Whoa.

[Kate] I don't know how you prepare for that.

It is really hard to stand up there.

This is designed to take you.

So, I mean, if you want to reach
with the elbow a little bit, it's natural.

Two, and...

[Kate] The biggest part of that sell, honestly, was then,

Wendy ran over to the side
and got bloodied up for that reveal.

[Jean] Let me see it! Let me see it!

Oh, my God. Oh, my God. There's blood.

It's bleeding! I'm bleeding!

So that he didn't know that this is all just TV magic.

We're just trying to create the perfect
family of Grandma's hot sauces.

We have not tried this one yet.

And every day, there would be about


and we would sneak out every morning and every evening.

There were hides everywhere.

Like, the garbage cans looks like
just regular old garbage cans

and there's cameras behind them.

You're walking, there's a camera tracking you on a wire.

Yeah, it was really cool.

- [laughs]

You looked right at my lens today for like five seconds.

Then you looked straight at his lens.

And we were like, "Oh, no."

[Anthony laughs] I had no clue.

I'm trying to replay everything in my mind

How did I not see any of this going on?

Every morning when you would leave,
all these people would come in...

- [Anthony] Spill in?
- And then we would go back out.

I was kinda curious because
sometimes we would literally just

go get breakfast in the morning and come back,

and I'm like, "What the f*ck
are we doing?" Like... [laughs]

[PJ] We send hero off on a run.

Then, a hundred people swarm into this little area.

Like c*ck coming out of the... [laughs]

And then we have this quick meeting,
'cause he's coming, he's coming.

[Nicholas] Three planes, three helicopters.

- That was wild.
- [Nicholas] That was insane.

Make your plans in case anything happens.

If it escalates, we need to move very quickly.

So, everyone have this state of readiness and preparedness.

- Did you guys call them to look for me?
- [Kate] Seriously.

[Dougie] Did Marjorie?

we had a lot of speakers and educational classes.

Only about, like, three or four of those were real people.

Most of those were just
actors pretending to try to give advice

and get jokes out of it.

We were supposed to not laugh
during seminar but I failed every time.

I had a huge problem with the seminars
because I couldn't stop laughing.

But if I was an HR representative and you handed me this,

I would've thought that said "Cheerios." So, that's...

You can learn a lot by handwriting.

Thank God my p*nis remained in my suit.

But the testicles was what I was worried about.

The Scott Norris workshop, talking about his ba*ls.

I mean, it was all shocking.

Like, we didn't know what was gonna happen
in the seminars, a lot of the times.

My testicles are black.

Now, the dead tissue that were
my testicles, I take myself...

One of my favorite memories was when Rob
and I were making out at Sagebrush.

And I have that earwig in

and just giving notes to Rob, inside of his mouth.

"Oh, keep going?" [laughs] Like, it was so funny.

'Cause you could like, feel each other smiling. [Laughs]

So, I'm in charge of, like, ordering all
the ingredients for the hot sauce...

I believed every moment of who he was
and just his personality,

I was just like, "He's an interesting character."

[Jake] And what did you think of this season's bad guys

when Triukas showed up?

They were like, robots, honestly, to me.

They were just part of this big company,
that they all looked alike.

[Anthony] I don't really have a dog in the fight.

I just wish what's best for the employees.

I will say that I hope we don't see
a big business take over

and turn it into something that it's not.

My heart's been with you even though I've...

I've needed you to hate me,
but I've loved you, watching how...

I'm not gonna lie, you did an amazing job.

I still have a little bit... Not really
but when I see y'all, I'm like...

They did a great job acting as well.

It was acting because we're not robots.

We actually have souls and it felt so shitty to be mean

to these people because you guys were so warm.

I will say this. If Triukas thinks they can just come in

and do whatever they feel like they wanna do,

they're in for a rude awakening.

[snaps fingers]

[Jake] Also, you might like to know that

We got reports back. You were saying stuff
like, "Man, you can't write this stuff!"

and you were like, "He's gotta be up that mountain!"

- And we're like, "Who sent him this?"

I mean, a part of me feels like
he might have went that way.

Just to go get lost in nature and be by himself.

The only place I could think,
like he would cross over the river

and go be up by himself in nature.

- [Helen] That makes sense.

This whole show is predicated in a way
on a normal human being

being smart enough and being curious
enough to make all the connections

and being able to put the plot together
and everything, and caring enough.

Think about coming back. Maybe for like,
at least the last couple days.

Just so that way you get to have this experience with us

and then we get to have this experience with you, man.

I've been tell you I think you should come back,

but you know, if you're not ready
to come back, then I get that.

[Kevin] It was meant to kind of be like,

"Oh, maybe I'll sort of come back" or whatever.

And that invitation came almost right away.

It was like, "Come back, come back!" [laughs]

Are you the amazing father that I looked up to?

Yes, I have a daughter.

That was really good.

I think that's really what sold them being...

In my head, I was like, "She's a little wild!"

Like, she knows it's gonna mess her up
but she kept going anyways.

When I have the allergic reaction to the crab legs

was one of my favorites. Just because it's like,

Anthony goes down the hill,

we had 20 minutes to kind of get me into this makeup.

- All right, game time. Makeup.
- [makeup artist] What's going on, bud?

[Doug] Your day is about to get better.
What do you think about turf and surf?

- Does that feel good for you guys?
- Yeah, I think so.

And then I had to pretend to
be having this big allergic reaction.

- [clears throat]
- [Doug] Your face!

- What, what?!
- Oh, my God. It's like, broken out.

- [clears throat]
- [Amy] You need to. Go get Benadryl.

I don't know if people make that noise
but my grandma did that all the time.

She always had itchy ears and she'd walk
around the house being like...

[clears throat]

And I was like, "That's disgusting."

- Yuck.
- [horse neighing]

[Jake] Uhh, Amy, I see you going.
What are you thinking about?

I just... I can't imagine what he did.

It's just so cool. And you accepted all of us.

Yeah, I don't know. It just...

It makes me laugh that you would give Dougie a chance.

Early on in the process, I said something to Jimmy.

I said, "This will be the best gig we ever have."

And it's because of you, Anthony.

You changed my life, for real,
and you changed all of ours, so...

I can't believe I cried so much.

I would like to say one more thing.

Like, I'm really still shocked

and surprised is my word because I'm still surprised.

Like, in this moment, even though I know the jig is up,

If there's one thing I can take away
from the Rockin' Grandma experience was,

it's not the job, it's the people that you work with

and the environment you go to every day
is what makes you feel whole,

It really just starts with the way that they made me feel.

They made me feel very welcome and at home.

that whenever I go back to look for my purpose in life,
