Wow, the terrain is
pretty rough out here.
I'm a little bit nervous. Uh...
Being naked out here and trying
to survive is going to be very weird
and different from
what I'm used to.
This is the craziest thing I've
done since I've left the Amish.
I was born and raised Amish.
We did not have any
running water, any electricity.
We had a horse and buggy.
I started working when
I was five years old.
When I was ten years
old, I was already,
uh, plowing a field
with a team of horses.
The Amish call everybody outside
the Amish community, English.
And we would tell our parents
that we're gonna play in the woods.
And what we would do is
go up to our English neighbors
and watch movies
at their, uh, house.
We were so into it.
So, I wanted to
join the English.
So I had to wait six
years until I was 18.
And then, I got me a
Greyhound bus ticket to Florida.
I had no job lined up.
I had $20 to my name.
Worked in construction, then actually
started my own carpentry business.
I can do pretty much anything.
The Amish are very hands on and
that is what we do is live off of the grid.
So, this is gonna be just like going
back in time, going back in the Amish life.
But the difference is gonna
be I'm going to be naked.
I want to prove to the world that
the Amish do have these skills
to come out in the
middle of nowhere
and be naked and survive.
Well, here goes weirdness.
Time to lose the clothes.
Being naked with another
woman that's not my spouse.
Yes, it's gonna
be weird at first.
Because in the Amish, uh, getting
naked in front of somebody would be a sin.
But I made a decision that I was
going to ask God into my heart.
I believe that God will provide
for me on this challenge.
From the Amish to the jungle.
I'm just not sure anybody
can survive here for 21 days.
Oh, my God!
Ahhh! Run! Go, go, go!
Oh, God.
Ahhh!
Don't tap.
Die first.
This place is, for lack of
a better two words, wild.
It's like some of the most dense
jungle I think I have ever seen.
There are things
waiting to k*ll you
that you just don't
know about yet.
So, I'm definitely well
out of my comfort zone
and I don't say that that often.
I'm a strength coach.
I have worked super
hard on my body.
I've been in training since
I was like 15 years old.
I was bullied at school
for being too skinny.
So my nickname
was Alexa Anorexia.
But you know what? I used
that as fuel and I made a choice
and I started going to the
gym on a mission for muscles.
And now my nickname
is Action Alexa.
If only those haters
could see me flex now.
I'm doing this challenge
because six years ago I died.
In 2017, I had a
routine hip replacement
and I had an
anaphylactic reaction
to my antibiotics
and died on the table.
So I was resuscitated
four times.
It's amazing what you take for
granted, because that was terrifying.
I have not lived a day since where
I don't live like it's my last days.
And that's what this is about.
This is a little uncomfortable.
Not only am I about
to walk into the jungle,
but I'm about to
do it stark naked.
And this is terrifying for me.
I've been single for
it'll be 11 years now.
I have not been naked in front of
anyone for two and a half years.
So this is the debut, baby.
I'm gonna have to
make the most of it.
Righto. It's time to put
the action into Alexa
and get this g*n
show into the jungle.
So, I have never done this
before being naked in Colombia.
But this should be
no problem for me.
With his Amish roots,
Milo is no stranger to
the off the grid lifestyle.
But his untraditional upbringing could
cause him to clash with his partner.
Milo begins with a Primitive
Survival Rating or PSR of 6.6.
I'm excited to meet my partner.
You know, I would much rather
be out here with a crappy survivalist,
than a crappy human.
So, let's just hope
that he is not the latter.
And I don't have to
feed him to the snakes.
Alexa has continuously proven
her ability to endure hardships
and come out stronger for them.
But she is new to the
world of primitive survival.
Alexa enters the challenge
with an initial PSR of 6.1.
-Hi.
-Hi.
- You must be my partner.
-Another naked person. I don't feel so alone.
- Are you a hugger? I'm a hugger.
-Hiya.
- What's your name?
- Is it awkward?
Yes.
-I'm Milo.
-Alexa.
Nice to meet you.
How do you feel about this?
This is a really
interesting concept.
I was about to say,
"Come here often?"
Not at all. This is my
first time out of the US.
I'm from, uh, the Amish.
-Oh, wow.
-And currently, I live in Florida.
Amazing.
What a unique upbringing. I
can't wait to hear about that.
I live in Sydney, but
I'm from New Zealand.
-Nice.
-You might be able to tell by the accent.
- Fish and chips.
- I can hear the accent, yes.
Oh, my gosh.
So, what are your
specific survival skills?
-So I'm a builder and
so shelter building, -Nice.
fire starting, stuff like that.
So, at a very young age,
we were taught to work.
I can pretty much build
anything and everything.
I can build a shelter. I can build
a snare trap. I can build a fire.
Dude, I even built my own
house pretty much from ground up.
-Amazing. I love that.
-What are yours?
Yeah, that's a great question.
My specific skills are my unbridled
enthusiasm and some light entertainment.
I am incredibly
good at suffering.
I have completed
races with broken bones.
And I did The Mongol Derby,
which is the longest and
toughest horse race in the world,
with a fractured ankle.
I qualified for the Half Ironman
World Champs on a broken foot.
The mental toughness
that I have cultivated
through my years of
suffering, physically,
have prepared me really
well for something like this.
So you ready to do this?
I'm never gonna be
more ready than now.
All right. I think our
bags are right down here.
To help them survive for 21
days in the Colombian jungle,
Milo and Alexa each brought
a personal survival item.
Well, hey.
-My machete.
-All right.
-We got some fish line here.
-Oh, wow.
They have also
been provided a pot.
And a firestarter.
All right.
It looks like I got
the map right here.
Right here, we might be able to
catch some fish right in that area.
Set up camp and then we'll be going
back through here for our extraction.
That looks good.
-I'm happy with that.
-All right, let's do it.
All righty, then.
I will go first...
with my knife.
- Man.
- -The humidity is just crazy.
It's like water dripping
off of me sweat.
Yeah, it's pretty
dense with the air.
Alexa and Milo are
entering Maloca, Colombia.
A formidable jungle.
Deep in the Sierra Nevada
de Santa Marta mountain range,
that is sweltering
and unforgiving
with near 80% humidity
and is inundated with 157
inches of rainfall per year.
Venomous mapana lurk
on the dense forest floor,
while the deadly puma
ambush from the trees,
as their powerful hind legs
allow them to pounce on their prey
from 30 feet away.
Wow, this is downhill.
It's not too bad
on the feet though.
-Actually, it's quite nice.
-No. My feet are pretty tough.
In the Amish, we never wear
shoes during the summer, so.
Yeah, wow.
- Oh, so you were born for this.
- So, uh...
-So, this is nothing.
-It's like going right back in time, man.
-Right back where I came from.
-How... Oh, my God.
I feel like I, like won the
partner lottery right now,
-to be honest.
-So...
Man, that sweat is
getting into my eyes.
- Oh, no.
- It is humid out here.
This is hard going.
Hopefully, we can
find camp soon.
Wowie!
This looks like it's it.
This looks where our
camp is gonna be over there.
Oh, my God. We're
quite high here.
-So we're gonna have to jump from here.
-I think so.
-A little scary.
-I know, right?
How are you with water, good?
Well, that might be a
little long swim for me.
So in the Amish, we
don't swim a long distance
and I am scared half to death.
But we do not show
our fear to anyone.
-All right. Ready?
-Let's do it.
Here we go.
I don't I don't think anyone could ever
truly be ready for something like this.
I think this is one
of those challenges
that you just jump in
head first off the cliff
and just seeing what happens
when you hit the water below.
Okay. I got this.
Nailed it.
Oh, my gosh. This is biggest
jump I've made in my lifetime as well.
You've got it.
Ready. Come off it.
One, two, three. Go! Go!
You all right?
That's the most graceful exit I
think I've ever made out the water.
That is the longest swim
that I've ever had in my life.
I didn't know that I
could actually do it.
We used to go to like
farm ponds and swim,
but I have never
had a swim that long.
It was pretty
special to do that.
Yeah, we're running
out of daylight.
Where do you think we
should make our camp at?
Well, I mean, if
we were to go here,
there's the two trees that we
could put the shelter between.
- Yeah.
- And there's a bunch of our roof.
Clear this up right here. Yeah.
-Yeah, okay.
-I like that idea.
- Oh, look at that.
Bring it up. Yeah.
Whoo-hoo.
This is gonna be so phenomenal.
As a carpenter, I'm very
happy with this bamboo
because I could build a
castle in the middle of nowhere
if I had the products to do it.
Uh, Milo seems like
an absolute gentleman.
I'm not sure if he knows
what to make of me.
He seems fairly quiet
and I'm... vivacious.
But I know absolutely
nothing about Amish people.
I don't know how much gender roles
are gonna play into this challenge,
but it's certainly gonna
make things very interesting.
This is thirsty work, my friend.
We are very exhausted
and thirsty, so.
I think we're gonna
fetch us some water.
In the Amish, we would
drink this kind of stuff.
All right. Here goes.
-Here we go. Cheers.
-Bottoms up.
We had a well that we
would have to our water at.
We took a pail, filled it up
full of water, took in the house
and we would drink out
of that pail with a dipper.
This river water
does not scare me.
We're almost
running out of daylight.
I think we might have to do
a temporary shelter tonight
-and, uh, focus on that.
-Yeah. We just make like a nice lean-to
and maybe try and get it
off the ground as much as...
Something that we
can survive tonight.
This is gonna be a long night.
We don't know what's out
here and it's not just the bugs.
What was that?
You heard something out there?
-We're definitely gonna need that fire tonight.
-Oh, God.
What was that?
We heard something moving.
Can't get a fire built.
So I guess night one will
be in the dark without any fire.
So that's a little concerning.
Last night, it was very rough.
I didn't sleep very much and
the bugs were everywhere.
- Oh, my goodness.
- They're like bloodsuckers.
- Like, wow.
- Look at this.
Swelling even around my ankles.
I have cankles.
I don't know how
I feel about that.
Welcome to the jungle.
So we are gonna
redo our shelter.
Uh, last night we had
a makeshift shelter,
but we're gonna try
to make it more livable.
I don't feel like I'm missing my
gym workouts, that's for sure.
We're just gonna
do like a lean-to.
We're going to try to go
a little bigger and better
and, uh, try to make
it more waterproof.
This is kind of back,
again, to my Amish heritage.
We couldn't use a
chainsaw or anything like that.
Too modern.
They called it worldly.
Me growing up Amish, being
naked with a stranger for the first night
and it was very awkward.
When I came on this challenge
knowingly that I would be naked
and there would be a
woman naked with me,
I actually thought about walking
into this forest with my Bible.
But it wasn't as bad as I
thought it was gonna be
and I'm proud of myself.
We're gonna need a lot
of this stuff for our bed.
Good plan, Stan.
- How you feeling, energy wise?
- Pretty good.
Maybe tomorrow we can kind of
slow it down. What do you think?
Yeah, I think we
probably should.
I would like to get
that, uh, fire going soon.
Oh, look at this.
Are you serious?
- This is one big coconut.
- Good find.
Yeah.
Found a coconut husk.
So I'm peeling off
all the nice hairy bits
so that we can make
really good kindling.
I hope you don't mind me asking
but, when you were living Amish,
-I know that I'm kind of awkward being naked.
-Um...
Especially me being a female.
-Like, how would they feel
about-- -Well, yeah. I mean,
with a female, like, uh, they would
be telling me right now that, uh,
basically I'm gonna go to hell.
My dad is actually
an Amish bishop.
-Oh, wow.
-Uh, so he's the head honcho of the Amish community.
-So, it's very-- -Do you
still talk to your dad?
Uh, no. My dad
doesn't wanna see me.
And he actually told me not to
come to his funeral when he dies.
-He said, "Don't show up."
Because they actually believe -Wow.
that I could possibly, uh, cast
a spell on him when he's dead.
-So, um...
-You sad?
-Must be sad for you.
-There's just... there's a lot of stuff.
A lot of stuff but
I have my father
and my father is God.
So, that's all I need.
When I left the
Amish, I actually, uh...
had to tell myself, in my
head, that my whole family died.
That they never existed anymore.
And that way I wouldn't miss
them and wouldn't go back.
So, that's a little
bit about the Amish.
Well, we really need
to get this fire rolling
because we gotta put an
end to these bugs, man.
Yeah, I think we should.
Father God, I thank
you so much for this day.
I thank you for protecting
us out here, Father.
And I just ask that you would just let
these flames blaze and this fire to start.
-In Jesus' name. Amen. All right, here we go.
-Amen.
Fingers crossed.
Come on there. Let's go.
Ah.
Oh, please catch on fire.
Thank you!
You did it.
Tonight will be a better night.
So, if you're a carpenter,
What did you build in the
Amish community? Like...
So in my Amish community, uh,
we'd build most all our buildings
and we have, what
we call a barn raising,
and 300 to 400 people showed up.
And that barn was up
in one day, pretty much.
-It was almost like 95% done.
-Oh, wow.
-What do the women do in the community?
-The women, uh, they uh,
take care of the
house on the inside.
So they would do house cleaning,
uh, making breakfast,
lunch and dinner.
Are women like... Are you allowed
to do your own thing though?
-Do women play sports?
-Uh, no.
Well, not a grown woman.
Not a woman that's married.
Wow.
My oldest sister
would be baking bread.
The housework
is the woman's job.
They don't really
have anything else.
I've never met
somebody like this.
We are from two very,
very different worlds.
I'd be like, kicked out a day.
Goodbye, you are
the weakest link.
Ah!
This is so much better.
Oh, my God. Thank God
for the fire is all I can say.
Game changer.
What do you think our
plan needs to be today?
-I mean, my plan is just kind of relax.
-For today.
I mean, we've been
pushing very hard.
We can't continue
the way we are,
otherwise, we will
probably not make it.
I think we gotta
slow it down a lot.
He wants me to just rest.
But I have some energy.
I think I'm gonna go try
and forage and not get lost.
And try and get some firewood.
Getting the firewood,
it's another way
that I can feel useful.
Take it easy. Don't overdo it.
I feel fine.
I'm happy to do whatever
needs to be done.
-Don't push yourself.
-I'm okay.
If I wanna go scavenging,
I will go scavenging.
I am a nice guy.
But, when somebody doesn't
understand me and I try to voice my opinion
and they just want to keep
pushing and pushing, um,
I think I need to put my foot down
and say, "Okay, enough is enough.
Like, I'm getting tired of it."
So you think we
should get some rest?
I feel better when I'm moving,
but I just like
tiring myself out,
so I wanna go to sleep
at the end of the day.
-But you think that's
gonna be good for you -But--
-to make it to the 21 days?
-No. I'm not gonna do anything drastic now,
but I don't want to lie
down in the shelter again.
I feel like you're
using too much energy
and your energy
is gonna run out.
I just wanted to
point that out to you
because you got to think about
how many calories you have in you
-and how much you're intaking.
-I know. I know.
Like I mean, I don't feel bad
for doing what I did this morning.
I don't think that's
too energy consuming.
I think that's more of like
a smart use of my time.
I'm a strength coach.
Like, I'm a trainer.
I do physical labor on
very little fuel all the time.
So, it's demeaning to like having
somebody else tell me what my body needs.
I mean, maybe the fact
that I'm doing a lot of work,
or maybe, it's a little
uncomfortable for him
given that in his
past community,
the women were very submissive.
I don't like to
see people upset.
She thought that I was
trying to control her, I think.
I wasn't trying to control her.
I was just worried about her.
So I just had the thought.
If you want to do something,
you want to go on your time,
you can go on your
time, I can go on my time.
Perfect.
I definitely don't see myself
as a helpless little maiden.
We just have very different
styles of doing things.
Look at this. This is like
an Amish role reversal.
You're doing the housework
and I'm just sitting here watching.
Well, we're a team. So...
We're gonna do it together.
I'm getting really hungry.
We're gonna need food to
continue to survive on this challenge.
You see all those
huge fish down there?
Ah! Fish would be epic.
We should probably tie
the hooks off like one line
and then string the
line across, you know,
so that you have that.
Yeah. And that way we
could catch multiple fish.
So the idea is, we're gonna run a
fish string all the way across the river,
and then we're
gonna tie hooks on it.
Okay.
I'm gonna try and
find some bait.
Whoa!
- What?
- There's a big spider.
Spider? River spider?
I know what a river
spider looks like.
Like a big brown one.
- Yep, that's a river spider.
- Oh!
I think we need to
catch the spiders
and see if we can
get them on the line
and not like, crush them.
Like, maybe try to get
a whole spider alive.
Alrighty then.
He's big and scary.
Here we go.
I got his foot. One of his legs.
- Oh, God.
- You wanna touch him?
No, thank you. I do not.
I will leave you
all the honors that.
And I'm going to
put this on the hook.
In survival mode, we
pretty much will do anything.
All right. Let's pray then.
Father God, we ask that you
would just make these fish hungry
and that they would
just bite these hooks.
So we thank you in Jesus' name.
Amen.
Here, fishy,
fishy, fishy, fishy.
Look at this, man.
Looky, looky, looky, looky here.
Our first fish, man.
-Oh, my God. Oh, my God.
-Look at that.
So all the hard work paid off.
Best day ever.
I felt my body getting weak.
I was getting lightheaded.
This is a huge win for us.
- Wow!
- Yes, yes, yes.
Oh, my God.
-It's triumph.
-Thank you, Jesus.
Well, this is the moment
we've been waiting for.
We needed that protein.
The spider is what
caught the fish.
So we know now who
we have to look for more.
River spiders.
Unbelievable.
I'm gonna try and
find another spider.
Today I need to
catch a live spider.
And it freaks me out.
Dear God.
my life.
Okay. You don't
bite, you can't hurt me.
You're not poisonous.
I need to eat.
You're not good.
You found another spider?
Oh, my life.
Awesome. You wanna
go put it on a hook?
-You can do it.
-Like, pin it in alive?
Yeah. Just grab it from
the back and just hold it.
Oh, my God.
Help.
No. You put it on the line.
Your spider, go
put it on the line.
I am having a heart attack.
Just grab it.
I don't know what to do.
Just calm down.
I don't know. Like, that's--
Maybe it's a fear that
you have to work on.
Get your together.
Ugh!
It's okay.
I don't know what to do.
Holy
Calm down.
Oh, my God! Oh,
my God! Oh, my God!
Oh, my God!
Okay, I got him.
Okay.
Thank you.
You were actually
having a panic attack.
Hundred percent.
But I stayed there.
Jesus.
I think my partner has
more fears than I do.
She has a lot of anxiety.
I mean, I'm okay
with helping her.
I want to be here.
I don't not want to tap
out, but I believe that
if I would tap out, I believe
she would tap out right with me.
Our shelter is leaking.
We're losing our fire.
The shelter wasn't designed
to be invincible to rain.
No...
It's gonna be a tough night.
Last night was probably
the worst night we ever had.
Yeah.
I'm gonna try to make
a round area here,
so my lean-to brace
will lean right into this.
Right, right.
So awesome.
So the ideas for the shelter is
we're just gonna do like a lean-to.
We're gonna enclose both ends.
But the main focus is in
getting our shelter weatherproof.
That way, if it rains again,
at least we can be dry.
I mean, it's gonna be huge.
This is right in my
Amish heritage.
It's either go big or go home.
I don't mind chopping
if you need a break.
-Whatever to help.
-Me chopping is much easier. Or less work.
It's my machete, but I
have not been able to use it.
I mean, I'll do the chopping
because it's a bit hard.
It's not like what you're doing.
It seems like he
still wants to keep
the division of labor
very gender based.
Holy. It's hot out.
If I was over there doing
what he's doing right now,
I think when I got back in, I
would have a stern lecture
about how I'm going
to burn myself out.
You might wanna
take a breather now.
Because it is hot.
That's not conserving
your energy, young man.
You got to do it like the
Amish. Got to get her done.
I feel like she's nagging.
I'm from a different place.
We do things differently.
I feel like Milo is very
condescending with me.
I'm just disappointed. Like, he
talks about faith and being religious.
But, like, my religion
is being a good human,
and he's certainly not behaving
like one of those right now.
Does the river seem louder?
Oh, my God, it's right there.
Milo, have you seen the river?
Wow, that's crazy.
It's risen right up.
Oh, my God. We can't
even get to our fishing lines.
Oh, my God!
- Wow.
- I have never seen that happen so quick in my life.
It's a message from God.
Lord, have mercy.
This is.
Milo! Have you seen the river?
That's risen significantly
in the last five, ten minutes.
It's a message from God.
Lord, have mercy.
Forgive me, Lord Jesus.
I mean, the river last night was
up, I think two and a half feet.
It was a message from God.
Maybe the river rose because God
wants me to like, be a better partner.
I need to be more
patient, sincere and nice.
I need to be more
grateful for my partner.
I need to be a better teacher.
Thank you.
But that's the thing, right?
I mean, I appreciate that.
But I feel like-- You're
making me feel like you...
truly believe that
you were carrying me,
and I wouldn't be doing
this if you weren't here.
And that's really hurtful.
Well, then let's just do that.
I don't know what
came down in the flood,
but he definitely had a
bit of a change in tone.
It feels kind of good though,
not having to build any
more of the shelter, right?
Yeah. Now it's all...
-...easy from here on out.
-You did a phenomenal job.
- Yeah. Well done, bud.
- Thank you.
Milo's been doing a phenomenal
job putting the shelter up.
And I feel like I need to figure
out how to step up as a teammate.
I'll just go and see if I can
find some more spiders.
We definitely need
to get more protein.
So I really need to fully
face my fear of spiders.
Because otherwise, I don't
think that we can make it out.
-Milo?
-Yes.
I have a spider.
You got a spider?
Good job.
Hopefully this will
give us the win.
Ooh, don't you
touch me, you little.
Hey, I can put him on
the hook if you want me to.
Don't get him by the back end
because if you squish that thing...
-I gotta quit. You get him in.
-If you squish it, then...
Yeah. I don't want to squish it.
But I did give it a crack.
-So, right there. Get him right by the hard part.
-On the head. Okay.
And then we put the hook
right through the middle.
-Awesome.
-So the next time, you got it.
But I was almost there.
-Yeah. I'm very proud of you.
-Baby steps.
I think Milo and I...
...actually have the capacity
to work together really well.
Thank you for teaching me that.
No problem.
Maybe he's realized that even
though we are very different,
it's in his best interests to try
and work with me as a team,
if we both want to
get to the finish line.
Back in business.
We got two.
We're getting hungry...
We're getting weak...
And we need these fish.
Yes! Woo-hoo!
This is gonna give
us great energy.
Thank you, fishies.
We need more spiders.
- There's a spider.
- Yeah. He's a good one.
Grab him with your hand. Just...
Just grab him with
my hand? All right.
The whole thing.
He's a quick little bugger.
Got him.
Spider hunter is back.
This will be a fish
in the morning.
See? Teamwork
makes the dream work.
I think Alexa and I, this
relationship has really come around.
Awesome.
And I believe the rest of
this journey here in the jungle
is going to make
me a better person.
And I believe as a
team... There is a spider.
...we can do this challenge together
and walk out of here in 21 days.
I never saw myself looking
out for these spiders every day.
What a transformation, hey?
Since my first day on the job.
Can't believe this
is now the norm.
Day by day, I feel like
I'm getting stronger,
I feel like I'm
getting more skillful...
And that's kind
of a cool feeling.
For lack of a better pun,
I think it really shows that
I do bring stuff to the table.
I love firewood, but I
hate having to collect it.
Whoa! There's a snake.
Oh, my God. It's moving.
Did it go? Oh, no. There it is.
Should we pin it?
I've pinned it
down. Not the head.
Is this the really
poisonous one?
Yeah.
Oh, God.
He just kept coming up.
Oh, look. There's a poison toad.
He's painted the
same color as my nails.
What is up with the
yellow nail polish?
Well, the theory
behind that was that...
The poisonous things out
here are all brightly colored.
So if my feet are in the ground,
I was hoping that
anything poisonous
would think I'm poisonous.
-Poor thing, me.
-Sure ain't scaring the bugs away.
- I mean, yeah.
- That's a pretty good plan.
I was trying to
think out of the box.
That's like, going out of
the box, out of the box.
I know.
You never know.
I wonder how those
spiders like the yellow toenail.
There's a snake.
It's a mapanare.
It's one of the most
poisonous snakes in the world.
Can you hold this
thing right here?
- Yeah.
- You got it tight?
And then, I got to pin the head.
All right. Well done.
Okay.
- Dead?
- Yeah.
In the Amish, we were
taught that steaks were bad.
They were the devil.
So, we just k*lled the devil.
None of us have ever eaten
snake before in our lives.
Taste that.
Not like chickens.
Like a burnt chicken wing.
You know, when you
bite into the crispy bit.
-Mm-hmm.
-That's what that tastes like.
-It was actually pretty good. It was pretty good.
-Yeah. It was.
It gave us some protein
It was kind of tasty.
So, it was successful.
Because extraction is
right around the corner.
I think it's gonna
be a tough hike.
Are you worried about it at all?
I don't know if there's gonna
be swimming on our way out?
On our insertion hike.
I've never swam
that far in my life.
And there was a lot of fear.
So I was thinking that
maybe you could teach me...
-...how to--
-Expand your doggy paddle?
Yeah, yeah. Expand my
doggy paddle a little faster.
Yeah, I would love to.
- All right.
- Ready? I'll swim beside you.
In three, two, one.
All right.
When I was Amish, we
used to go to farm ponds,
and that was kind of
our bath that we had.
'Cause we only took our baths
Saturday nights in my family.
There you go.
All you gotta do is just
make sure to reach out
and feel like you're pulling
the water towards you.
So, big strokes.
I haven't swam in a long time,
but a lot of it is
trying to trust myself.
Just like spiders.
All in your head.
-Okay.
-Let's go back again.
I think I'll take that one.
When we got here,
I think that he would have found
it very difficult to ask for help.
Now, Milo's learned to be a
little bit more open minded.
Awesome.
Look at the little mutt go.
Alexa is definitely
a great teacher.
I'm very proud that
she's my partner.
- You think I can do it?
- I think I you can.
Thank you very much.
Glad I could finally
teach you something.
Got that puppy pedal
into a doggy pedal.
I don't think they
could have put
two more opposite
people together if they tried.
But you and I come from
completely different worlds.
But even though we really
had some ups and downs,
we managed to work through them,
and I think what I liked the most
about the partnership that we developed
is that, you know, the things
we do have in common,
like a really strong work ethic.
Yeah. You've been
nothing but amazing working.
You always-- I'm very happy
that we can walk out together.
Day 21, man.
Get the out of here.
-It's time to say...
-Adios.
...goodbye to the jungle.
All right.
I am ready to get back and see
my family. And get out of here.
I'm definitely ready for less
creatures and more comfort.
It's gonna be a rough hike.
We're gonna be
going uphill, so...
I think we need to
go down this way.
Cool.
All right.
Let's do it.
To reach their extraction point,
Milo and Alexa must ascend a
grueling 3000 feet into the mountains.
Through dense jungle
and steep, slippery terrain.
With the threat of jaguars and
venomous snakes lurking in the brush,
one wrong step could
end their challenge
as they descend
to the river below.
Let's get out of here. Let's go.
All right.
Oh, Lord. This is a
really steep incline.
Mm-hmm.
Oh, it's slippery.
Put it in four wheel drive.
Yeah. Feel like I'm
leaning at 45 degrees,
just to not fall backwards.
Come on, little legs. Get it.
Well, we are high.
Oh, man, we're
downhill a little bit.
I feel like we're really right in
the middle of the jungle now.
Yeah, we are.
It's so quiet in here.
We can't even hear
the birds really in here.
- Oh, my gosh.
- We're in some serious jungle.
Yeah, we are.
Definitely keep your
eye out for those snakes.
It's like snake paradise.
We are so thirsty.
Oh, my gosh. It looks like
we have to cross the river.
All right. The water
is not super deep.
It doesn't look like
we have to swim.
Over the river, we go.
Over the river, we go.
All I'm saying to myself is, "Just
one foot in front of the other."
You got this girlfriend
and you are not a quitter.
Push forward, push
forward, push forward.
Because I know that at the
end there's going to be a prize.
No way.
- This...
- That's the kind of road that we're looking for.
- I hear something.
-Please be it. Please be it.
Oh, my God.
Freakin' A, man.
We did it.
This must be the ride.
Oh, my God.
Oh, my God. We made it.
Oh, my God.
Hop in.
Let's get out of here.
This might be the best
day of my life so far.
One of the reasons I love taking
on these massive challenges
is because I want to
push my boundaries.
I want to see
where my limits are.
I'm not crying because I'm sad.
I'm crying 'cause I'm so happy.
I always thought
that I was strong.
I always thought that I was
capable and independent.
And I just proved that I'm exactly
the person that I thought I was.
And that's pretty cool.
After surviving 21 days,
Alexa lost 28 pounds.
Her primitive survival
rating rises from 6.1 to 7.0.
Oh, my gosh.
Being the first ex Amish to
survive in the jungles of Colombia...
It pushed my comfort
zone into a higher level.
I learned that sometimes I
need to put my differences aside.
It made me a better person.
Being from two
different cultures...
Two different people... working
together all the way to the end.
That is what it's all about.
Milo lost 38 pounds.
His PSR rises from 6.6 to 7.3.
This challenge has pushed me
further than I ever thought
that I could be pushed.
Not only can I go
back to the Amish,
but I can go a little further.
And this challenge, it makes
the Amish look like English people.
Bye, Colombia jungle.
- Adios, amigos!
- Adios!
