head out for africa tomorrow.

It's gonna get cold
and I'm not keen on

that all my friends say

I'm a little scrappy
and a little feisty.

I found out that
my partner is a girl,

And I'm not really
sure how I feel about it.

It's guys versus girls
we better bring our a game.

This is my first
time in south africa.

I'm out of my comfort zone.

They're freaking huge.

Now, it feels
like I'm in africa.

On the windswept
plains of vhembe, south africa,

Four unproven survivalists
will attempt a 21 day challenge.

It's gonna be a challenge
to survive out here.

Divided into two
groups, one team of men

And one team of women.

We're gonna be the bush babes.

They will test their strengt
against mother nature

For the first 10 days.

And then merge on day 11

For an all-out
survival of the sexes.

Being partnered with a
woma makes me nervous,

But at the same time, women
are stronger in the mind,

And that's what's
needed out here.

It's time to show the rest of
the world what we're made of.

One of the advantages
of bei on an all-male team

Will be our physical strength.

The disadvantage to
being an all male team

May be a clash of egos.

Every guy I know is generall
pretty proud of the skills

That they have and if
they feel attacked by that,

That may cause some issues.

I'm about to meet my

fear is if I just walk up

all the survival prep

actually tested them.

And I feel if you're not testing
yourself, you're not progressing.

But his low body fat
could threaten his challenge

south, there's woods.

Awan, my uncle and then
my dad taught me hunting,

Fishing, then cutting
grapevines and finding water

I couldn't make spears out
of just sticks on the ground

Rubbing them on rocks,
you know, shaving them down

To a point.

And I can clean animals
especially the small game animals.

People underestimate
me because of my size,

And I always proved them wrong.

Rebel has valuabl
experience from living off the land,

But she struggles to get
alo with other women.

Rebel begins
with a psr of 6.2.

Sere specialist stands for survival,
evasion, resistance and escape.

We would teach aircrew

down in any environment.

We teach them how to
evade capture from the enemy,

How to resist interrogation
if they were captured,

And finally how to escape.

Cheeny is a
skilled survival instructo

But most of her experience
comes from working with men

Cheeny has been
given a psr of 7.1.

hides black mambas, lions,

And spotted hyena

That can run lengthy
distanc at 37 miles per hour

In pursuit of prey.

threatening environment.

Where seven ton
elephants come to drink

the hunting ground for leopards.

So, why'd you want to do this?

The challenge, 'cause I was
in the air force for eight years.

From what I've been
doing as a career, like,

I've been teaching
people this stuff.

Yeah, I've practiced it,
but never anything like this.

So, deep down, I'm secretly
hoping that the women

Outperform the men just
because women are tough

And I can feel this morning

The only way to k*ll this thing
is to do it incredibly brutally.

Going into the men
versus women challenge,

It was a little
different for me.

But, once we merged,
I really didn't see

Any gender stereotypes come up.

One big takeaway for me,
women can do practically anything

A man can do and
a lot of stuff better.

During this challenge,
gender didn't play any part.

There's a standard and
if you meet the standard

Cool, it should be the same
across the board for everybody.

I think I really improved.

As long as you carry your weight,
like, who gives? Who cares?

It feels pretty fantastic
to be the last girl standing

In the man versus woman
challenge. Feels real good.

Cheeny lost 13 pounds.

Her psr increases
from 7.1 to a 7.7.

I'm disappointed that
I wasn't able to secure

A big game k*ll, but
I'm happy with how

My mental state held up.

I'm pleased with my body overall,
how it handled this challenge.

Jared lost 16 pounds.

His psr goes
from 6.8 to a 7.4.

South africa has
bee an amazing experience.

She's also been very brutal

It just reinforces the
fact that nature isn't cruel

Or kind, she just is.

And you have to deal with that.

Rusty lost 18 pounds.

His psr rises
from 7.0 to a 7.6.

I'm so happy right now.
I did this for

The sere community
and I hope they're proud.

Honestly, I'm super gratefu
for this whole experience.

But I'm also very happy
that it is over.
