knowing that he struggles
to be decisive,
so that's probably
the biggest challenge for me

How did you find out you had ADHD?
So, I had a really bad bout
of poor mental health
two or three years ago.
I ended up with being signed off
for a few months
and it was really, really tough.
The last couple of years,
I've just not been...
..myself. I've, like, not been able
to function as a person,
let alone as a husband or a dad,
so Julia's had to take
all that on herself.
I eventually got
to see a psychologist.
Within 20 minutes, like,
"Yeah, you've definitely got ADHD."
We talked about treatment options.
Obviously, one of them
is medication.
I was like, "I'm happy."
And when I started -
actually, my first dose -
this thing that I've been
carrying around my whole life
melted away. Really?
This huge, big monster
that had been chasing me,
always on my back, always after me,
it was gone overnight.
My whole mental health issues,
they're a result of this other thing
that I had, that I've always had,
that I never knew about.
All the times that I said
I'd do those things for the kids
and never got round to it,
all those times I said
I'd do something, then forgot,
that I'd fix something
or didn't get there -
it's not an excuse,
but it explains things
and it helps me understand better.
The way you describe how ADHD feels,
if we can really, really do this,
Dan, like, it might make
such a huge difference to your life.
If I can make anything in the house
easier for Julia,
then, yeah, it can only be positive,
it can only be good.

some salt and some white vinegar.

which makes it fizz up.
So, these have had
about ten minutes soaking
and I'm just scrubbing them against
all the salt that's in there.
That's starting to come up
really nicely.

back on the doors in here.

for the new dining room
in the conservatory.
As simple as this banquette is -
a chair with storage underneath it -
for this family,
it's going to be life-changing.

They normally just get thrown into

children's creative play.
Got the old cat litter
storage bench here,
and with litter trays,
we want to wash them
with just some soapy water,
just some washing-up liquid.

This house is a little bit chaotic

something special for Rachel's room.
I made one of these
in my daughter's room
because she was my first daughter.
Because I'd done Poohs
and Pokemon for so long,
I just thought,
"No, this is my chance."
And I over-ordered
on the flower wall stuff,
so I thought, "Rachel loves pink.
"She loves flowers."
I thought I'd bring
my leftover panels over,
and I think it looks so nice!
I mean, it's not to
everyone's taste,
but it's definitely to
five-year-old Rachel's taste,
and mine!
In the workshop, Dilly's organising
Dan's tools using her new system.
I am currently organising
all the nails and screws.
Just use the label from the boxes,
so just cut the box label off
and literally put it into
wherever you're organising.
You may even want
to attach the screw to the tray
so that you know
which screws are in each box.
In the sitting room, I've got
an idea for the old fire surround
that Iwan found earlier.
Got some bits of wood.
I've got a bit of MDF
and I'm going to slice
these bits of wood,
glue them onto this panel,
and hopefully it'll look like
a pretty fireplace.

Them logs are heavy!
So, I'm just cutting them all down
to, like, this size.
We'll, like, stack them all in
just so they mix and match
a little bit.
And we can put that
on the back of the surround
and it'll be really pretty, I think.
