[Ashley] So far, 15 humans
were transformed into 15 dance monsters.

When I'm dancing as Jam,

I am the most confident
I've ever been in my entire life.

[Ashley] Three were eliminated
from the competition.

Getting through means the world.

I'm here to stay and I'm here to fight.

[Ashley] Tonight, six monsters
battle it out in the first of two heats.

From start to finish,
I need it to be flawless.

[Ashley] After the performances,
one will go in a snap elimination.

We're all in it to win it.
We have to take it up a notch.

[Ashley] And another will be sent home
in the ultimate dance-off.

Oh, my god!

[Ashley] Can they hold their own alongside
judge and professional dancer Ne-Yo?

Ne-Yo!

[Ashley] At stake is a place
in the quarter finals

and a chance to win 250,000 dollars.

A quarter of a million dollars!

We have our incredible panel back with us.

So, guys, things are heating up.

We've reached round two
and the pressure's on

as one monster will be sent home
in a shocking snap elimination.

So, Ashley, what can
our monsters do to impress you?

Two words.

Level up.

[Ashley Banjo] This is real now.

We've got past the first round,
but every monster wants it.

[Ashley] And, Lele?

I think I want to see
if they took our notes.

[Lele] If they're in this to win this.

I mean, this is a very hard competition.

[Ashley] And, Ne-Yo, one monster will go

without even having a second chance
in the dance-off.

The competition is heating up, isn't it?

Yes.

So at this point, we've pretty much seen
everybody do what they do.

We're anticipating that the level
has gone up slightly from the first time.

So with that,
dance like there's no tomorrow.

Now, things are about
to get tougher than ever.

Yes. Later, we are saying goodbye
to two of our monsters,

so there's no room for anything
other than the very best.

[Ashley] And here's how it works.

Twelve monsters have reached round two.

This is heat one,

where six monsters
will have just one dance to impress,

because one
will be eliminated immediately.

Then two monsters
will face the ultimate dance-off.

The loser will go home,

meaning four monsters from this heat
reach the quarterfinals,

along with the four best monsters
from heat two.

-Yeah, that's really dope.
-[Ne-Yo] Yeah.

[Ashley] Performing at the highest level
means rising to every challenge,

so in the dance-off, they'll have to prove

they can hold their own
dancing against a professional.

And there's no better pro
than our very own Ne-Yo.

to really take it up this time around.

I personally am super excited

about being able to dance
with some of the monsters.

We've all done some crazy stuff,
but that's pretty one in a million, right?

Would you have to, like,
change the way you dance a little bit?

'Cause, like, you don't wanna like,
slip on no fur or, like,

get caught on one of Grummy's bandages,
and all of a sudden,

-you unwrap, like...
-[Lele] Yeah.

So many things could go wrong.

[laughs]

[Jam] Double elimination today,
how are we feeling?

-Feeling nervous.

I feel way better now
that I've seen you guys dance. Okay.

All set to impress our panel,
here comes our first monster!

Getting through the first round
was such a sigh of relief.

[audience cheering]

They loved it.

From the character to the choreography,

you just smashed it,
smashed it, smashed it.

But now I do feel
an immense amount of pressure

to really push the limits

because they're only going to expect more
than what I gave last time.

I've got to raise the stakes now.

[Grummy] I work at a science museum.

I absolutely love it.

So for this dance, we're going to see
Grummy let loose in the science museum.

I am dancing with statues,
and I'm bringing them to life.

I'm showcasing a lot of tricks.

I've got to go
for a back tuck onto one leg.

You got this.

I feel a lot of pressure
to really take it up this time around.

It is scary to think
that two people are going.

how was the routine for you?

That was probably the favorite thing
I've ever done in my life.

-[all laughing]

I couldn't believe
that you could do a better dance

and show us more
than the first time we saw you,

and you delivered more.

[Lele] Overall, amazing.

[audience cheering]

Here's my critique, okay?

First and foremost, you're a great dancer.

[Ne-Yo] I feel like you started off
really, really good.

Who starts their piece
with a back tuck on one leg?

But then I kind of saw you lose
a little bit of steam towards the middle.

The energy needs to keep me here.

Hey! Oh!

Other than that, amazing.

[audience cheering, applauding]

When we talk about the performance itself,
we talk about character,

we talk about energy,
technique, difficulty.

Structure and musicality,
like, you just give us everything.

[Ashley Banjo] And then on top of that,
you give us amazing tricks.

It's like, you now just need to bring us
that thing that says you deserve to win.

Hey, I'm still here.

My first dance was nerve-wracking,
but it lit me up inside.

[audience cheering, applauding]

[Ne-Yo] There were bits and pieces of it
that felt a little freestyle.

I can tell that, that you're capable
of more than what we just saw.

I have to step it up this time
and show that there is more in the tank.

[Marsha] Tick, tick, hey.

But this isn't the first time
that I've performed

for such a big audience under pressure.

I was a Miami Heat dancer for four years.

Chris Bosh, Dwyane Wade,
and Lebron James were all on the team.

It was such an incredible time in my life.

This next dance of mine
is a very similar style

to what I would do on my Miami Heat days.

It's harder, it's faster.

There's more breakdowns,
there's more tricks.

And five...

I really hope I have the energy.
I need to work on that a lot.

Each round, it gets harder and harder.

[Marsha] Knowing there's one monster
leaving after just one dance

is extremely difficult.

I'm hoping that I am able
to show the panel

Lele, I'm coming to you first.

I liked this a lot better
than your first performance.

You had attitude in this.

[Lele] I was like, "Yeah, that's my girl."

I do think there's some moments
you held back.

I wanted to see more
but overall, you did amazing.

There were a couple of places
here and there

where your technique suffered
just a little bit.

[Ne-Yo] I kind of feel like I almost saw
you run out of steam a little bit. Almost.

Now that we're stepping it up,
we've got to step that energy up as well.

Your character comes through so strong,

but I don't know if it was the structure
of the piece itself or it was stamina.

It didn't take off like I wanted it to.

[Ashley Banjo] So,
in such a tough competition,

from start to finish,
I need it to be flawless.

if that was good enough
to save you from the snap elimination.

that you come out on top.

I'm determined to stick this out
and to really give everything

and to continue to push forward,
no matter what.

After show one, it made me think
she could be a winner.

That performance made me think
that maybe the cracks are showing.

I'm very tempted to roast you
over a fire right now.

Being in that dance-off was horrible.

[Roberta] Very intense.

Please give me the name of the monster
you are keeping in the competition.

I was so relieved to get through.

-[happy scream]
-[Ashley] Oh, Roberta!

I had a realization. "Wow.
This means, like, a lot to me."

It's given me the fire
to never go back there again.

When I was a kid,
I would watch music videos.

And when I would look in the mirror,

I would literally envision myself
in one of those music videos.

And that's what I'm doing
for this new routine.

I don't want to malfunction
in front of all those people.

I'm under pressure,
but it's a good pressure.

I have to say, I am immensely glad

that I was the person
that gave the casting vote to save you

because it gave you
the opportunity to level up,

I do feel like, however,
I'm not a million percent certain yet

that it's competitive enough.

I need just a touch more
of competitive edge.

Roberta, listen,
if it was up to me last time, my

But I love being proved wrong.

And as a dancer, right, that was so clean.

[Ashley Banjo] There was so much content,
so much choreography,

and you hit every beat.

I think this is a lot better
than your first performance.

You took our notes.

Now, I think I want
a little bit more memorable moments

that when we look back we're like,
"I remember everything about her dance."

[Lele] Overall, I liked your performance.
However, I expected a little bit more.

I'm in this competition to make progress.

that I'm better than what I was

can definitely expect personality.

I am a preschool teacher,

so this performance is
story time with Jam.

It's me reading a book to my students.

It comes with animation,
it comes with character,

it comes with enthusiasm.

And that's everything I need for
this performance to get to the next round.

Having the choreography level up
has been a struggle in rehearsal.

It's had me push myself

in a way that I haven't pushed myself
in a really long time.

It puts a fire in me, myself,
to get it done and deliver it.

Two people go home this week.

Scary feeling.

Being eliminated without
even a dance-off is definitely a worry.

But I aim to go out there and k*ll it.

of different styles and techniques

within your arsenal.

This is the part
that bugged me just a little bit.

If I feel myself relaxing into my seat,
that's a bad thing.

Something's missing.

I needed a little bit more diversity
in the movement.

This performance
felt a little safe, to me.

-I need more.
-Most definitely.

I love your energy. I love that you were
actually connecting with the crowd.

You were going
from this side and that side,

but I liked your performance more
the first time we saw you.

And you know,
there's always room for improvement.

Dancing as Ferg for the first time
was insane.

It was the Ferg party, I was there.

But somewhere towards the middle, Ferg,
the energy dipped a little bit.

Keep the energy up
but also try and bring us more difficulty.

The performance quality
along with the energy

has to be up from where it was last week.

I've been in rehearsals
making sure I've hit every move,

building up that stamina.

I need to step up my game.

Last time, I showed that I can do fun

but this dance is going to show
a different side of Ferg.

It's a tribute to my grandparents.

[Ferg] When my grandparents were alive,
they were the biggest supporters.

But I know that they're still watching,
and I'm super proud.

Make them feel your performance.

This performance means the world to me

so I have to make sure
that I give everything that I have

right up until that very end moment.

meant something to you, didn't it?

And I'm actually pleasantly surprised

with what you brought
to the stage this time.

[Ashley Banjo] You gave us more dynamics,
more shapes, more difficulty.

But this is a tough competition,

so I think that I would like that
to go a step further.

[audience applauding]

I definitely feel like
there was a lot of emotion,

which made sense for what it was.

However, I just feel, personally,
from a technical standpoint...

Yeah.

...I wished that there was just a touch
more difficulty in the moves.

I wasn't wowed by this performance
but I definitely felt it,

so you get absolute kudos for the heart.

You were a completely different dancer
from the first time that we saw you.

This was such a big improvement.

[Lele] But overall,
I wanted more complex movements

but I think, overall, you did amazing.

It's been a tough competition.
All the other competitors are amazing.

[Ferg] I was nervous
going into it with a different style

but I'm going to take everything
they said, take it in, marinate it.

Most definitely want to keep going.

She makes me feel something, for sure.

But a lot of the other dancers
make me feel something too.

The choreography's
definitely stepped up for myself.

I'm not sure about you guys, but...

[Marsha] Yeah, it's definitely been
a lot of work.

This fin has never been in better shape.

I mean, look, guys.

[all chuckling]

I started dancing on TikTok when I was 16.

And one that I filmed
in the school canteen went crazy viral.

taking inspiration from that video.

I kind of jump out
of a TikTok video into the real world,

but this time,
we're adding loads more moves

He did better the first time
and then he, you know, he went down.

The last 15, 20 years of my life
make sense.

It makes sense why I never gave up,
why I always believed in myself

because I knew
something was going to happen for me.

And being here,
it just proves that I was always right.

[Marsha] Each round,
it gets more difficult.

But I'm gonna keep fighting
to prove that I deserve to be here.

After performing, it definitely made me
realize how much I wanted this.

[Hammer] It's made me
more hungry for the win.

[Grummy] So stressful.

Anxiety is high. It's to the max.

I want it so bad.

[Ferg] This has been one
of the biggest opportunities of my life.

And so that ups the stakes
to a whole new level.

[Roberta] This has always been my dream.

I feel pressure but it's just motivated me
to just push harder.
