This is the Gillibrand
Sand Quarry.

This is a place where
they turn big rocks like this

into little rocks like this
and everything in between.

Sand which is used
on volleyball courts,

used on beaches.

They also use 33
million pounds of sand

for every mile of highway.

This particular job
isn't just about brawn.

You'll need to rely
on your life skills.

Your job today is to go and
getthree tons of gravel and sand.

You're gonna get one
ton of the pea gravel.

That needs to go
into the big super sack.

One ton of rock gravel.

That needs to go into
these small plastic bags.

And finally,
you need to get enough sand

to weigh in one ton of sandbags.

As a reference,
one ton is 2,000 pounds.

Okay.

First thing you have
to do is go find the gravel and sand.

And just so you know,

it's scattered all
around this quarry.

Now, with any job,
you need the right tools,

so you have a Ford
Super Duty truck

to be able to get this job done.

Don't worry about the payload.
It can easily handle a ton.

No worries there.

Now, you know what's up for grabs today,

This is all gonna come down to

find the pea gravel

The sand is in the

and the rock gravel

at the end of the property.

- So we're starting with sand.

Um, we'll get that done,

I know how time-consuming

tying those knots is gonna be.

We can work farthest to closest,

which is the rock gravel,
finishing with the pea gravel.

We're just gonna
start that sealing.

We think that's gonna take time,

'cause while they're running,
we can keep sealing.

We're gonna make sure and
fill these as fast as we can.

At the airport,
it's all about time management.

So our plan is to
start with the bags

that are gonna need
the most attention.

Sealing those rock gravel
bags should take time.

Then get the pea gravel quick,
and get it done,

and then get sand.

None of us have-have
walked the site,

so we really don't
know what's going on.

But it is costing
us a little bit of time

kind of having to backtrack.

Make sure your helmets are on.

So this challenge
consists of shoveling,

and a lot of it.

We got to shovel a ton of sand,

so I'm already
calculating in my head that,

with four people shoveling,
at around ten pounds a shovel,

that's about 40 pounds.

We need 50 shovels apiece.

But to be safe,
I tell Myles count to 65.

We've all done at least...

We don't have
five pounds per shovel.

- I say let's go 65.
- All right. One, two...

Here, give me the big one.

How close do you think we are?

- I think pretty close, huh?

I don't know if we have enough.

to be at least six pounds

exactly how much material

aggregate here is one thing.

I don't think anybody

we're filling the bags,

I'll throw them up

We need the truck empty,

so that we can
send it out again.

Dirty Hands
are only a few bags away

from weighing in
one ton of sandbags.

But they're running out of sand.

They're literally brushing out

every grain of sand
out of their Ford truck.

I realize that we don't
