as you can see, unexpected weather,

His biggest ones while we've been here
is blood clots in his legs, in his hips.

To be honest, I haven't seen
much of a weak Prime.

He always remains really strong
in front of all of us.

where he's in more pain or whatnot,

but it never changes who he is.

He never lets this foot, this injury,
these complications that he's overcome

affect the way he is as coach
or even as a person.

and everything associated to this.

I was looking forward
to going to Media Day.

That's an opportunity
to have another chapter with Shedeur.

We take for granted that's my son,

so we do things like that together,
which is wonderful.

So I wish we could've shared that.

But, we're gonna share many more things.

Surgery-wise, this should be
the last one, prayerfully of the year.

And I should be able to run out
with the team in September.

with this knuckle and that knuckle.

Now, our most important goal
is that this toe stays alive.

until I know that toe

It's just amazing to me
how much excitement there is out there

about these Media Days
'cause there's so many unknowns,

you know, right now,
especially with our team.

It tells them,
"Hey, football season's here."

Coach not being there, it was different.

But, you know, me and Trav,

we still held it down for us.

How do you deal with
other people's expectations?

Everybody's opinion doesn't really matter.

We don't let negative energy
in the building, around us.

So if they're hatin',
if they feel some type of way

that we're not gonna do this and that,
that's fine, that's good.

then it's gonna be bigger than ever.

Me, I don't even really pay attention
to what everybody else have

the standards set for me.

I just go out and play my game
to get to the next step.

Travis Hunter from Jackson State.

While I was at Alabama,
we recruited Travis.

We thought he was one
of the better players in the country,

which he was.

Travis Hunter is...

He's special,
special beyond words, really.

We've never seen anyone
like Travis Hunter.

I mean, Coach Prime
is probably the closest comparison

in terms of a player
who wants to play both ways,

can do it at a high level,

and also just impact the game
in multiple facets.

Travis is one of the best athletes
I've seen in this game.

I'm glad that he chose us
to allow us to coach him.

Fall camp is vital because we have
a new inventory of young men,

as well as coaches and staffers,

that we gotta understand what we have.

It's when you find out
who's who and what's what.

Now, when it comes to the fall,
you have 29 opportunities

to have only 25 practices,

so all 25 practices have to count.

You don't have time to mess around.

what your overall impressions are?

First of all, great coaching.

They did the unthinkable last year,
and I'm proud of them.

I'm happy with our opponent.

I can't wait to get up there
and see how we stand up to the challenge.

Colorado is going up against
a national championship runner-up

in their very first game of the season.

In the national news,
nobody's expecting this team to win.

playing one of the best teams

You're taking this experimental roster
all the way to Texas

to see how you can stack up with a team
that has been to that level already.

but I had to go through that process...

to get to where I am now.

but normalcy is what I'm chasing.

I think it just puts into perspective
of what he's been through.

I think, like, all the challenges
he's faced, you know,

as much pain as anybody.

So no matter how much hurt

like, seeing what he's going through,

like, it should make you
wanna push even harder

and go even harder
for what he's done for us.
