Alien Love (2024)

[gentle music]

[Sadie] From the moment I met Ryan,

I fell madly in love with him.

It was a true case of love at first sight.

I knew that I wanted to spend

the rest of my life with him.

There was just something

different about him.

It was hard to explain,

but he was different.

[eerie music]

[Neil Armstrong] "It's

one small step for man."

[water running]

[eerie music]

[upbeat music]

Hi Sadie.

Hey.

How are you?

Yeah, good.

How's grandma?

Grandma's fine.

She's up.

You can go in.

Thanks.

Oh, hey.

I heard hubby's finally in orbit.

Exciting.

Yeah.

Unbelievable, actually.

[Announcer] And we're unable

to call back into the point.

[machine beeping]

Oh honey, it's so good to see you.

Gosh, you look well.

Thanks, Nan.

I hope they're taking care of you in here.

Yes, they are, darling.

They're very good.

Don't you worry.

So he made it?

Nan, he's up.

I can hardly believe it.

It took so long.

Well, all good things in life take time.

And are hard to come by.

Well, he got there

in the end, didn't you?

And Ryan, he's a real man.

He's exactly what I need right now.

It's so good to be married.

[grandmother coughing]

Nan, you okay?

Should I call a nurse?

I'm fine.

I'm okay.

I still can't believe you married

an actual effing astronaut.

I know, right?

sh*t is wild.

So tell me, what's it like

being with an older guy?

Not usually your style, eh?

Well, let's just say I've

moved on to drinking fine wine

these past days.

What about you, Abbey,

still chugging those beers?

Ouch.

No, but seriously, how are you?

Have you been well?

Yeah, I'm just the usual,

keeping busy with work and study.

Well, if you need

anything, I'm here for you.

Got more time on your hands?

With Ryan's salary,

I could afford to take some

time off work temporarily.

I'm so jealous.

Well, I've been busy though,

with moving to the US and everything.

It's taking more time than expected.

I'm keen to get a move on.

So keen.

Yeah?

Yeah.

It's hard to, you know, pack up and leave.

I have so many loose ends to tie up

before we move permanently.

Yeah, well, don't go being a stranger.

Keep in touch.

Mrs. Hillsong.

Yes.

Hi Sadie.

I'm Colonel John Smith

with NASA Intelligence.

And what brings you here, Colonel?

Can we speak in private?

Here.

Is that okay?

Yes, of course.

Come with me then.

Thanks.

Thank you.

I'm scared to ask

what's so urgent, Colonel?

Seems we had a complication in space.

What do you mean complication?

We lost contact with

Ryan for about 60 seconds.

That's impossible.

You're telling me that

even NASA can't keep up

with technology now,

please tell me he's okay.

Look.

My husband.

Ryan's okay, we've regained contact

and he is on his way back.

This is just a routine call to inform you

that we did lose contact with

him for 60 seconds or so.

So now it's more than a minute.

How long exactly are we

talking about here, Colonel?

Look, he's on his way back.

You should be able to meet him at the gate

within 24 to 48 hours.

But we're supposed to be

moving to the USA permanently.

All this, it's temporary.

Look, I'll leave it with you.

There's my number if

you need to contact me.

Thanks

[eerie music]

Honey, am I a gritty man

to want two dreams in life?

I don't think so.

Depends on what they are, I guess.

What are they?

Well, dream number one, you.

You got me, baby.

Dream number two, to fly.

You will.

Hey, what are you doing?

Hey.

For good luck.

God, I love you.

[suspenseful music]

[helicopter blades whirring]

[inspirational music]

Ryan.

It's you.

You are alive.

[inspirational music]

Gosh, I was terrified.

I missed you.

[eerie music]

Do you like it?

Yeah.

Welcome home.

Thanks.

Yeah.

Come on.

[eerie music]

So honey, tell me what happened up there.

They said you were lost

in space for a while.

[eerie music]

God, I stink.

I think I better take a shower.

[eerie music]

You okay, babe?

[eerie music]

[gentle music]

You got me.

[gentle music]

Oh, hello

[gentle music]

[eerie music]

Honey, dig in.

[eerie music]

Excuse me, are you an astronaut?

As a matter of fact, yes I am.

Can I have your autograph?

Yeah, sure.

Thank you.

[eerie music]

[radio buzzing]

Ryan.

Hmm.

What the hell are you listening to?

I dunno.

I'm just tired, I'm zoning out.

[techno music]

Ryan?

Ryan?

[car honking]

[eerie music]

[eerie music]

[radio buzzing]

[radio buzzing]

What the hell?

[cellphone ringing]

Sadie?

Hey hun.

Oh dear.

I know that tone.

What's up?

Ryan, he's annoying me.

Trouble in paradise?

No.

Yeah, I don't know.

Come on, spit it out.

You know you can trust me.

Well, I picked him up from the airport

and he was really quiet, he

said practically nothing.

Strange.

He won't tell me anything

about what happened in space.

Like I'm his wife.

I have a right to know.

Maybe the aliens got to him.

Ha ha, very funny.

But his diet's way off

and he's barely eating.

It's probably all that

NASA confidentiality crap.

You know how it goes.

I'm sure it'll be fine, babe.

But I'm his wife.

Oh, I dunno.

Maybe you're right.

Babe, chill out and just

watch one of his ancient DVDs

or something.

I have a stack of alien

DVDs here if you'd like.

You love all that stuff, don't you?

[suspenseful music]

Welcome.

Please come in.

Now Wyatt, would you like

to share your experiences

with the group?

Yeah, absolutely.

Well, I was very young.

It's gonna be hard for me to

remember, let alone articulate

what happened and what I saw.

But me and my family took

our first family holiday

to Papua, New Guinea.

And when we got there, my

father met some local villagers.

We were off the grid.

It was for work purposes.

It's like the villagers

never saw white folk before.

They were just amazed by us.

And anyway, when we got there,

we stayed the night at

the village local town.

And the next morning I woke up

and I heard all this screaming, shouting.

I was just wondering what

the hell was going on.

My parents weren't there.

I went outside and saw all

the villages looking around

up in the sky and I was,

hit me like a ton of bricks.

And to my amazement,

there was a flying saucer

right up in the sky.

Couldn't believe it.

I was in shock.

Anyway, he came out and

it looked like this tall,

big, massive head, what

they call it, the gray man.

And he waved at everyone,

walked back in, and it shot up,

and never saw it again.

Wow.

That is quite a story, Wyatt.

Incredible testimony.

Thank you for sharing.

And yes, we do want to believe.

Next up, let's get Charlie,

could you share with the group, please?

Look, it's all so hard

for me to tell you guys

what in actual fact I saw,

but it's just been one of those things

that's been eating me up inside.

I can't talk to my friends about it

because they'd never believed me

and I can't talk to my

parents about it either

because it's of a confidential nature.

That's okay, Charlie.

That's why we're here.

Okay.

Well, I had a relative

who worked at Area 51.

United States Air Force.

Correct.

Again, like Wyatt, I was very young,

but on this particular day

I was with this relative

and I can't say his name,

but he was in a bad way.

I mean drinking.

And gosh, he was barely conscious.

Blind drunk.

Why was he so drunk, Charlie?

Because of what he saw that day.

He saw something maybe

he wasn't supposed to see

or he was just terrified

by what he discovered,

either way it was bad.

And, then I saw it too.

What did you see, Charlie?

Photographs, black and

white, real photographs

of an alien baby.

I'll never forget that

image for as long as I live.

An alien life form that they

held c*ptive in Area 51.

And that it put an end to my uncle.

Well, that was just incredible.

Charlie, thank you for sharing that.

Thank you everyone for

opening up and sharing

with the group today.

Before we move on to John,

sir, could we get your name, please?

Hi guys.

I'm Ryan.

[All] Hi Ryan.

Alright, John, take it away.

Your story, please.

Hi guys.

That's unbelievable.

'Cause like the rest of the group,

my story happened when I

was very young, you know,

and I think when you are young,

you're more open to

experiences, your mind's open.

As you become older, you're

not sure, you get shut off,

you get tunnel vision.

Right.

And if you're a kid and

you're telling a story,

nobody believes you.

And if you're an adult,

they think you're crazy.

Yeah.

Yeah.

So my story happened in April 6th, 1966,

when I was still at school.

Yeah, yeah.

I was part of a confirmed

mass UFO sighting.

Yeah.

It was, it was confirmed

mass UFO sighting.

It came above the, the

UFO come above the school

and just hovered there.

And then the government, the

government shunned it, right?

Yeah.

It was, I dunno, Westall

Secondary College.

Westall?

- [John] Yeah.

- Wow.

[John] Yeah.

I've seen the

documentaries on the subject.

You were there?

[John] Yeah, I was there.

Yeah, I was there.

- Wow.

The UFO it hovered,

there was power lines.

It hovered above them.

I, I don't know what I think it was,

I think it was drawing power or refueling

or something like that.

Right.

And then it took off, but

it was there long enough.

100%, I can guarantee, I'll

swear on my mother's life,

my father, it was a UFO, I saw it.

Yeah.

Yeah.

That's, that's all good.

Yeah.

I don't know.

Dunno what we're gonna do.

It seems like everything's out

of our control at the moment.

Mm, mm.

Yeah.

Ah, alright.

Yeah.

Well, I'll try and catch up with you soon.

Yeah.

Okay.

Oh, hang on a minute.

I think someone's just hopped in my car.

What the hell?

Who are you?

Get out.

Get out.

Hang on, Em, someone's in the car.

[suspenseful music]

It's all right, he's gone.

Gosh.

Okay.

Nobody too scary.

Just a bit of a weirdo.

[suspenseful music]

So tell me, how are things at home?

How's Ryan?

Yeah.

Okay, I guess.

Okay, tell me what's up.

Nan, I don't wanna burden you.

You've got enough to deal with.

Honey, darling, trust me, I'm

as bored as bat sh*t in here.

So any news will be better than

staring at these four walls.

Tell me what's wrong?

It's, it's Ryan.

I mean.

What about him?

I don't know, Nan, something's changed.

I can't seem to put my finger on it.

Maybe he's got jet-lagged.

You are funny.

You know, when they were in

space there was a little hiccup.

Yeah.

They lost contact with him.

I saw it on TV.

What about that?

Well, he won't tell me anything.

It's like he's a closed book.

It's not like him at all.

Maybe he blacked out

or maybe he passed out.

You know what you should get him to do?

No.

What?

Get him to try hypnotherapy.

That will wake up his brain.

Hmm, interesting.

I know a good one.

I can give you the number.

Hey Hun, you in?

Ah, there you are.

Well, I just visited

Nan and she, oh, hello.

Anyway, she suggested we

take you to a hypnotherapist.

For what?

You know, to jog memory a little bit,

to recall what happened in

the space and everything.

[gentle music]

[water running]

[Reporter] I was

concerned that UFO sightings

weren't being properly

investigated, especially in cases

where the witnesses were military pilots

and where the objects

were tracked on radio.

Babe, you watching these again?

Huh?

Haven't you seen these already?

[Reporter] Were reluctant

to report sightings

up the chain of command for

fear that they'd be disbelieved?

No, honey, this is the first time,

I haven't seen this one yet.

Weird.

[Reporter] AATIP was

run from the Pentagon,

but the program was owned not

by the Department of Defense.

Mr. van Hillsong, I presume.

Yes.

Thanks for seeing me.

Yeah.

So you're an astronaut.

Look, to be perfectly

honest, it's my wife

that suggested I come here.

That's okay.

You're in capable hands.

Come with me.

So your wife tells me you had a rough time

on your last voyage into space.

She also says you're having a hard time

articulating exactly what happened.

Mm, no, I just don't recall.

Okay, so close your eyes for me now.

Just listen, listen to the

sounds in the room around you.

We're gonna go back into space.

[eerie music]

You're taking off, you're in space.

[eerie music]

[Ryan screaming]

What happened?

Anything?

No, nothing.

Hmm.

Well, time's up for today.

Sorry I couldn't help you today.

Let me know if you need

anything in the future.

Have a great one.

Thank you, I will.

[Hypnotherapist] Yeah, bye.

[eerie music]

[suspenseful music]

[suspenseful music]

[Sadie coughing and breathing heavily]

[eerie music]

[suspenseful music]

[suspenseful music]

[gentle music]

[gentle music]

Ryan, is that you?

Where have you been?

Anyway, how'd it go

with the hypnotherapist?

Ryan, I am...

How do you, how do you know?

It's time for a celebratory drink then?

[bottle cork popping]

[upbeat music]

Wow, babe, you are keen.

Sure, you can have mine.

[upbeat music]

Babe, you can get some

more from the bottle shop.

I don't mind.

Great idea.

Don't be too long, please.

You can go to the local,

it's only walking distance.

[upbeat music]

Well, that last joke went

down like a bag of sh*t.

Ugh, this club sucks.

I'm outta here.

[upbeat music]

Hey, can I get you a drink?

Okay.

So what are you in the mood for?

Champagne.

Champagne.

Huh?

Okay.

Yeah, we broke up.

He was an as*h*le.

Well, you know what they say?

The quickest way to get over

one is to find the next.

[upbeat music]

So what's the celebration?

I don't follow.

The champagne.

What are you celebrating?

Oh, that.

I think I need a drink.

You want one?

Sure, why not?

[upbeat music]

[eerie music]

Get a room, guys.

[eerie music]

[suspenseful music]

Bullshit.

[suspenseful music]

Ryan, what the hell?

[suspenseful music]

Didn't you see the ring

on his finger, b*tch?

[suspenseful music]

Couple space cadets.

[Reporter 2] Some believe

the weather balloon explanation

was a cover story hastily

ordered by senior military.

[Sadie] f*ck, what the

f*ck were you thinking?

[Reporter 2] That personnel

at Roswell had revealed

they'd recovered a flying disc.

Was it yours?

This was the beginning of a UFO coverup

that has lasted over 70 years,

but which might now as we'll see

finally be coming to an end.

After Kenneth Arnold's flying

saucer sighting after Roswell,

and with similar sightings

coming in from all over the US,

it was clear that the government

needed to take action.

Military intelligence

specialists studied the problem.

Theories were formulated,

reports were written,

but nobody could agree

what these objects were.

There were four main theories.

The first was that all

sightings could be written off

as mirage's, mis-identifications,

hoaxes or delusions.

A second theory was that flying discs

were secret prototype aircraft or missiles

operated by another part

of the US government

with information compartmentalized

and restricted to those

with a need to know,

was it possible that one

part of the government

didn't know what another part would?

For years, UFO researchers

claimed the US government

was running a secret program to research

and investigate the phenomenon.

Look, I'm prepared to forgive you.

I'm pregnant now, we have

to set new ground rules.

Hmm.

Okay, hun.

Whatever you say.

Go on.

Go get ready, I'll take us out.

Out.

Where were we going?

You'll see, it's exactly

what the doctor ordered.

[upbeat music]

So, good idea, yeah?

This is it.

This is where we had our first picnic.

I thought it'd be perfect

to rekindle our flame.

Oh gosh.

Feels like eternity since we've been here.

Sorry, I don't remember.

You wanna look for it or should I?

Sorry, what?

You don't remember?

You're keyring, your God damned

NASA keyring for good luck.

We buried it here.

No.

Sadie, Sadie, calm down, calm down.

You don't remember?

Come on, let's go somewhere else.

Go where?

Come on, Sadie.

I'm never coming back here again.

[somber music]

Ryan, where the hell are we?

Westall High School.

And why are we here?

Well, the place has an energy to it.

Come and see.

You've seriously f*cking

lost your mind in space.

This is ridiculous.

You gotta be f*cking joking.

[eerie music]

Ryan, let's go.

That's enough, I'm tired.

So you see, honey, on

the 6th of April, 1966,

UFOs made contact Only a

short distance away from here.

For real.

[eerie music]

Ryan.

Baby, I'm here.

[eerie music]

[birds chirping]

Ryan, hey.

What the?

Weird.

[eerie music]

[phone ringing]

Hello.

Ab, what's up?

Sorry, hun, did I wake you?

No, it's all good, I'm up.

I mean, I had to wake up anyway.

What's happening?

Look, I had to call you.

Something really weird just happened.

Okay, babe, you okay?

Is everything all right?

Yeah, I'm okay.

No stress.

It's just, well, Ryan.

Ryan, what do you mean, Ryan is, is he?

Let me explain.

I was just coming back from the shops

and he jogged right past me.

Well, that's nothing new.

He loves his morning jogs.

That's his routine.

Well, yeah, maybe.

But here's the thing.

He jogged right past me.

Didn't stop.

Like I didn't f*cking exist at all.

What?

Maybe he had his iPod on or something,

like he didn't hear you?

No, I don't think so.

I even called out his

name, got no response.

Weird as like I didn't exist.

Hang on babe.

I think he's just walked in.

I'll have to call you back, okay?

[ominous music]

[glass shattering]

[ominous music]

[eerie music]

Sadie, I'm so sorry.

Oh no.

I'm so, so sorry.

She passed during the night.

Oh, Nan.

We've been trying to reach you.

Is your phone off?

[somber music]

Can I have a moment?

Sure.

[somber music]

[eerie music]

Ah, ah.

[eerie music]

[Sadie breathing heavily]

[eerie music]

[eerie music]

Gentlemen, ma'am, we have another one.

I'll send you the coordinates

and you know what to do.

Let's pray this time we catch 'em.

Oh, we'll have another

disaster on our hands.

[eerie music]

[phone ringing]

Hello.

Sadie, John Smith, NASA Intelligence.

Oh my God, I was just gonna call you.

Where are you?

We need to know you're safe.

Well, I'm parked outside,

outside a house in the driveway.

But I'm scared, I'm scared.

It's Ryan.

Sadie, listen, we know all about Ryan.

He's not home.

My people are tracking him

right now, he's gone rogue.

But I assure you we got it covered.

He's not, he's not inside?

Then I can go inside?

And Sadie, you do know

it's not Ryan anymore.

Ryan's gone.

I know, I know.

[eerie music]

[birds chirping]

Target is now entering

Westall Secondary College.

[taser buzzing]

[suspenseful music]

[eerie music]

Ryan, where are you?

[eerie music]

[suspenseful music]

[taser buzzing]

Target is on foot, now heading

through the Grange Reserve.

[suspenseful music]

Transformation in progress.

Oh sh*t, we need to hurry.

[ominous music]

[suspenseful music]

Where are you?

I'm on the other side of the

reserve on Sandgate Avenue.

[suspenseful music]

Where are you?

I'm right in front of

you on the other side.

On Janice Road.

sh*t, can't lose him.

He's heading into civilian property.

[suspenseful music]

Roger that.

I'm on it.

[suspenseful music]

sh*t, don't lose him.

I'm gonna have to call for backup.

[eerie music]

[Sadie coughing]

[suspenseful music]

[g*n firing]

Stop, don't sh**t.

[suspenseful music]

[suspenseful music]

[suspenseful music]

Guys, where are you?

I need backup.

I need backup immediately.

I'm losing him.

[eerie music]

[suspenseful music]

[eerie music]

[suspenseful music]

[alien growling]

[suspenseful music]

[eerie music]

[Sadie coughing]

[suspenseful music]

[alien spaceship whirring]

[alien growling]

We have another one.

It is real.

[alien growling]

[eerie music]

[eerie music]

[eerie music]

[eerie music]

[eerie music]

[eerie music]
