-[neighs]

[groans, grunts]

-[loud footstep]

to take us to Nightmaria.

So, let's give 'em what they want.

and take them to Nightmaria instead.

-[blusters]

-[neighs]

is the stuff dreams are made of.

[shouts]

-[gasps]

-[thunder rumbles]

-[panting, gasps]

[neighs]

This isn't Nightmaria.

[Rhino laughing]

But seriously, that was not a fun memory.

It's actually pretty fun.

face their problems.

ate a never-ending ice cream, and had
a really nice chat with the Night Knight.

after we get a good night's sleep.

-[neighs]

so we've heard that one a few times.

But you've got to admit,
it gets better every time.

[blusters]

No matter which story she tells,
Gladys has lived such an epic life

that we're in for a wild afternoon.

What do you mean she's out
for the afternoon?

She just headed out a few minutes ago.

-[blusters]
-[groans]

to spend the afternoon here.

I've got a baby jackalope
that needs a bath,

and catching it will be a warrior's job.

nothing to be done, I'm afraid.

Today is a big day for Gladys.

That fruit's probably for feeding
to an ogre or something. [chuckles]

[whinnies]

I bet the next place she goes
will be somewhere really awesome.

[door chime rings]

-The flower shop?
-[nickers]

[growling]

Huh. Maybe she's getting
a ferocious plant to arm-wrestle with?

[gasps] Like a Bicep-ticus Large-alus!

-[blusters]
-That's a scientific name, I think.

[door closes]

Okay. So she got a regular ol' fern.

People need those.

But the next stop will be--

-[groans]
-[whinnies]

-The hair salon?
-[blusters]

Well, at least it can't get
any more boring than this.

The old folks' home?

[somber music playing]

[inhales sharply, imitates Gladys]

-[blusters]

[neighs]

[whinnies]

Get a load of this little fella.

Oh. Isn't he just the cutest
little pig-horse I've ever seen.

-[resident] Soft and cuddly.
-[neighs]

-L9. [chuckles]
-[gasps]

[laughs, groans, giggles]

I just wanted to see what she was up to.

[sighs] Today's a tough day for Gladys.

It's only natural her patience
is a little shorter than usual.

What do you mean a tough day?
I thought today was her day off.

Today is a day of remembrance
for a fellow warrior.

[sighs] Here we go.

It's Gladys and you, and…

Juli. My sister, and Gladys' first love.

Oh.

Back in the old days, the three of us
were an adventuring party.

But Juli's been gone for some time now.

Did something bad happen to her?

No, honey. Juli lived a full life.

Went on lots of adventures, saw the world.

It was just her time.

I've heard so many of Gladys's stories,
but never about this.

I-I always thought the life of a warrior
was epic.

-Full of fun and excitement and, you know…
-[blusters]

…good stuff.

A warrior's life is full of many things.

Adventure, triumph, joy and laughter,

but also difficulty.

Sometimes heartbreak.

-Hmm.
-[blusters]

[sighs]

I-I feel so silly, Pony. [sighs]

[blusters]

I never stopped to think there was
more to Gladys's life than the stories.

[snorts, neighs]

[sniffles]

-[blusters]
-[sighs]

Gladys, I'm really sorry.

I should've gone home when you asked.

It is all right, Pinecone.

Indeed, I must apologize
for losing my temper.

It was a shameful display.

[stammers] I, um--

I heard from Amaya about today.

I had one last stop planned
for this afternoon.

What does it feel like?

Hard.

It is always hard to lose
someone you love.

But it helps to remember them fondly.

Every year on this day,
I make this journey alone.

But this time, 'tis nice to have company.

That makes it a little easier.

[stammers]
We went to your house this morning,

hoping to hear one of your epic stories.

M-Maybe you could tell us
one about Juli sometime?

Of course.

I have many tales of our time together.

Juli was an excellent storyteller.

Perhaps it is where I got the knack.

We often came here to watch the sunset
and share stories

at the end of adventure-filled day.

[jackalope purring]

-[Gladys] Many of those days…
-[knocking]

…we laughed till our sides hurt,

while other days were difficult.

But they were just as much
a part of the adventure.

[speaking indistinctly]
