♪ Yeah, we'll make it right on City Island ♪

- [Narrator] Trixie Motorcycle battles for survival

in the future, where everything is scary and terrible.

What will she do?

- Dad, the future looks nasty.

- There are no trees or rainbows and everything is dusty.

- [Watt] Is that what City Island is gonna be like someday?

- No, no. That's just the movie about a pretend future.

In the real world, City Island is working hard

to make the world a better place.

- But how do you know?

You're a dad, not a fortune teller.

- No, but I do know a lot about the city.

Get your helmets, kids. We're going for a ride.

[upbeat music]

What a beautiful day.

You know, we need to take care of our environment

so the future could be clean and safe for everyone.

- Like the air and nature?

- All that and more.

Today we're gonna see some of my favorite places in the city

that are planning for a better future.

- Let's scoot, y'all.

[futuristic music]

- Take a look. We're riding on the greenway.

- What's a greenway? Is it a salad?

- I love broccoli.

- Nope, the vegetation I have are trees and grass.

I'm a path without cars, so it's safer for non-drivers.

- There are bikes, e-bikes, skateboards,

scooters, roller skates and even hoverboards.

- Ah, don't forget joggers.

- Thanks, Mom. It's fun, healthy

and with less cars, there's less pollution.

Plus I get to look cool.

[upbeat music]

- Who's that rad dude?

- He's a solar panel, Watt.

- I turn the sun's rays into electricity.

It's a renewable energy source.

- That means it'll never run out.

- What are your sunglasses for?

- Looking cool.

- [Watt And Windy] Awesome.

[futuristic music]

- Hi there. I'm an electric bus.

I'm all charged up for another beautiful day.

- Buses used to only run on gasoline,

but newer buses run on electricity,

which is cleaner for the air.

- These days, mass transit like trolleys and subways

and ferries and cable cars have all gone electric.

[ferry honks]

[upbeat music]

- Hey, Dad. That's where you work.

- It sure is, Watt.

- Are we here to file paperwork?

- Nope, I just wanted to show you

how the city is improving people's work lives.

This is my new office.

- Check me out. I'm state-of-the-art.

I use less energy, which is better for everyone.

Plus I have ramps and elevators to make it easier

for all types of people to access my floors.

- I enjoy your company, sir.

[futuristic music]

- Okay, kids, we're here at our last stop.

- [Watt] Whoa, this looks awesome.

Are we at superhero headquarters?

- [Frank] Nope, this is Tomorrow Town.

- [Watt And Windy] Wow.

- It's a lifestyle center.

That's a walkable neighborhood with a lot of extras.

Tell them about it, Tock.

- We've got it all. We have houses, parks,

fresh food, entertainment and places to exercise.

Everything here is within walking distance,

so it's healthier and better for the environment.

It's about time.

- [Watt And Windy] Cool.

- So what did you think of the tour, kids?

- I learned so much.

- Me too.

If we take care of the environment,

we can make sure the future is nice for everyone.

- Hey, that's right.

I'm so proud of the work City Island is doing

to plan for a better tomorrow.

- The future looks bright to me.
