RANGER RABBIT: Hold on! Did everyone remember to put on sunscreen?
ELINOR: Mm-mmm!

MR. RABBIT: Oh! Err... uhhh...

RANGER RABBIT: Ok kids. If you need us, we'll be relaxing in our chairs, right over here.
ELINOR: So you don't want to splash in the water or dig in the sand?
You'll just be... SITTING here?
MR. RABBIT: That's right, honey bunny.
ARI: I don't think grown -ups know how to have fun at the beach.
RANGER RABBIT: Have fun in the sun, kids!
MR. RABBIT: Yeah!
KIDS: [giggles]
ELINOR: We will. C'mon!
ARI: Soooo... Who wants to build a sandcastle?
ELINOR: I do! But how about we make it a sand EXPLORING CLUB?
ARI: Yeah, great idea! We'll need one for all our beach exploring.
ELINOR: What do you say, Olive?
OLIVE: Hmmm.... That does sound like fun.
But, I think I want to catch some waves on my new boogie board.
ARI: Cool!
ELINOR: Those waves look fun.
OLIVE: Ari, could you please hold onto my bag?
ARI: Sure thing!
OLIVE: Thanks Ari. OK, time to BOOGIE.
ARI: So where should we build our club, Explorer Elinor?
ELINOR: Hmm...
AH HA! How about over there, Explorer Ari?
ARI: Hmmmm... Lots of space... Ocean view...
ELINOR: AAAAND... close enough to the water that the sand is a little wet.
Perfect for building!
OLIVE: Hey! Check me out!
WHOOOOO! I'm doing it!
KIDS: [cheer] Woo-hoo! Yeah! [giggles]
OLIVE: [giggles]
RANGER RABBIT: You're doing great Olive!
OLIVE: Yeah!
I did it! I'm going to catch an even BIGGER wave!
ELINOR: Awesome!
ARI: Yeah!
All right! One sand Exploring Club, coming up.
I'll start the digging.
ELINOR: And I'll get some water.
[gasp]
Hello. You look like a little crab. I didn't see you there.
Whoa, you're really good at digging in the sand.
You must like it here by the water too, huh?
Okay. So long little crab.
ARI: Phew. Okay. Let's do this.
Let's build the biggest, coolest, awesomest, errr...
ELINOR: Sandiest?
ARI: Yeah. And "sandiest" sandcastle there ever was!

ELINOR: Our Exploring Club looks SO good.
ARI: I know. The lunch room tower is my favorite.
My lunch tower!
What's happening?!
ELINOR: The waves are washing the club away.
ARI: But how did the water get here?
Lunch tower, I won't forget you.
ELINOR: That's strange. The water wasn't here when we started building our club.
OLIVE: What happened to your exploring club?
ELINOR: The waves knocked it over. But I thought we built it far enough from the water.
OLIVE: That is strange.
ARI: And there it goes...
ELINOR: Don't give up Ari.
We'll just move a little farther up the beach, away from the waves.
ARI: Yeah. You're right.
OLIVE: Good luck.
ELINOR: Thanks Olive.
Oh, hi again little crab.
You sure like it here, under the waves.
ARI: I think I found a good spot.
ELINOR: Good job Explorer Ari. We should be far enough from the water here.
ARI: OK. Exploring Club number two, coming up!

ELINOR: Looks like we're out of water. I'll get some more.
ARI: Okay.
ELINOR: [gasp]
ARI: Oh, not again!
ELINOR: Quick Ari! Lets make a wall to protect the club!
ARI: On my way!
Stay back, waves!
KIDS: OH NO!
OLIVE: [breathing heavily]
That was fun!
What's going on?
ELINOR: The wave washed away our club again.
OLIVE: Again? But I thought you moved.
ELINOR: Hmmmm... The water washed away our first Exploring Club.
So we moved it farther away from the water and started a new club.
But now the water is close again, and it washed the NEW club away too.
Could the water have moved?
OLIVE: I think you're right, Elinor.
When I started boogie boarding again I was further away.
But then I ended up closer.
ELINOR: But that means...
KIDS: The water DID move!
MR. RABBIT: Hey kids. Is everything ok?
ELINOR: Dad, we tried to build a sand Exploring Club near the water...
ARI: ... but each time we built one, the water got closer and waves washed it away.
OLIVE: So we think that... the water must be moving.
MR. RABBIT: Mm-hmm. You're right, the water did move.
It's called the tide, and it makes the ocean get higher and lower.
When the ocean tide gets higher, the water moves up the beach
and when the tide gets lower, the water moves back down the beach.
The tide is always changing so the water moves up and down the beach a couple times every day.
ELINOR: That's SOOOOOO interesting!
But... if the ocean keeps moving, how can we build our Exploring Club?
ARI: Yeah, we want to build it close to the water, but the water keeps moving.
ELINOR: Hey, the crab is back!
ARI: Whoa... cute little fella.
ELINOR: That's the little crab I saw earlier.
I keep seeing it at the edge of the water.
OLIVE: I think I've seen it before, in my nature book.
Ari, can you please take it out of my bag?
ARI: AH, of course!
Hmmmmm...
Ah, here it is. Ahem!
The OCTOPUS has THREE hearts.
It can change color to help it hide, and it can squirt black...
Wait... that can't be right...
OLIVE: [giggles] I think you're on the wrong page.
ARI: [giggles] Thanks Olive. Oh yes, here it is.
Sand crabs always stay near the edge of the water where it's shallow
because that's where they find the food they eat.
Sand crabs bury themselves in the sand so the waves don't carry them away.
ELINOR: Ohhh... but what does it do when the tide changes?
OLIVE: Look!
It's moving with the tide.
ELINOR: Hmmm, move with the tide... That is so clever.
And it gives me an idea for how to build our Exploring Club sandcastle.

♪ ARI: The tide rolls in, and the tide rolls out.
OLIVE:Never stays still, it always moves about.
ARI:And what keeps all the water in motion?
OLIVE:It's the up and down of the ocean.
KIDS:High high high high high!
Low low low low low.
The water is moving with the tide,
Those sand crabs keep on the go.
OLIVE:Sand crabs will dig under the sand.
ARI:They do this where the water meets the land
OLIVE:It's how they catch the food they crave,
ARI:As it flows above them in the waves.
KIDS:High high high high high!
Low low low low low.

RANGER RABBIT: Nice work everyone! I think it's looking sandy-dandy!
OLIVE: Thanks Ranger Rabbit.
RANGER RABBIT: Uh oh. Here comes the tide again.
ELINOR: That's ok. We're going to be like sand crabs, and go with the tide.
KIDS: One... Two... Three!
RANGER RABBIT: [chuckles] That sure was a clever MOVE, kids.
KIDS: [giggles]
ELINOR: And now, the FINAL touch.
It's done.
OLIVE: We did it!
KIDS: Woo-hoo! Yay! Yeah!
RANGER RABBIT: What a dandy-sandy Exploring Club.
ARI: Isn't it great? No! Uh, better than great. It's, it's...
MR. RABBIT: ...SAND-tastic!
ARI: Yeah. SAND-tastic!
You really get me, Mr. Rabbit.
ALL: [giggles]
MR. RABBIT: Yeah!
ALL: [giggles]

ELINOR: Hi Ms. Dromedary!
MS. DROMEDARY: Hellooo, Elinor! So wonderful to see you!
ELINOR: That's an interesting plant!
MS. DROMEDARY: Thank you! It's a --
CAMILLA: Eeeee! Elinor!
ELINOR: Hi Camilla!
CAMILLA: I'm soooo glad you're here! Because today... we're having a...
...TEA PARTY!
ELINOR: A tea party? That sounds fun!
CAMILLA: Yaaay! And it's going to be super-duper-ooper fancy!
MS. DROMEDARY: [chuckles] Well, I'll let you two enjoy your party.
CAMILLA: We will, Mom! C'mon, Elinor... let's go!
ELINOR: Wow! This does look really fancy.
CAMILLA: And I've invited some very important guests, too.

CAMILLA: This is my dress-up jewelry. Let's take a look!

ELINOR: Hmmmm. I'm not sure what jewelry to wear!
CAMILLA: No problem!
ELINOR: Wow, Camilla! I feel so...
CAMILLA: ...fancy? My turn!

KIDS: [giggles]
ELINOR: I feel FABULOUS!
CAMILLA: And look, Elinor! This is my mom's special ring from when SHE was a little kid!
And she's letting me wear it for our tea party!

CAMILLA: Hmph! It's... a bit... of a tight... fit!

Alright! Now let's have the most splendid tea party ever!
ELINOR: Huh? I think that's...
CAMILLA: Oh no! It's raining! [gasp] My guests!
ELINOR: Quick, Camilla! We gotta rescue'‘em!
CAMILLA: Well... Our guests are saved...
...but our tea party is a wet, sloppy disaster!
ELINOR: Wow! It's raining a lot!
Look, Camilla! Snails!
CAMILLA: Ahhh! I see them...
ELINOR: Look at how they're slithering up!
Snails are soooo cool! I wonder how can they climb like that?
CAMILLA: Ugh! Those snails are leaving SLIME behind!
Ew! Ew! Ew! Soooo not FABULOUS!
ELINOR: Snail slime isn't "“ew"”, Camilla. I'm sure they make slime for a good reason.
Every animal is different in ways that help them.
Whoa! Look at how sticky the snail slime is.
I bet their slime helps them climb up things like this post.
CAMILLA: That is kinda cool. But still ... ew!
ELINOR: [giggles] You two are great little climbers!
CAMILLA: The rain stopped. Let's get back to our party, Elinor.
It's tea time!
Ugh! The table's all sloppy and soaked. I don't think we can --
ELINOR: Freeze, Camilla! You're about to step on a worm!
CAMILLA: Ahhh! Not fabulous!
Ugh. This was supposed to be a tea party, not a worm party.
ELINOR: I know! But isn't it great?
Where did they all come from?
It must be because of the rain. When it's wet out, we see worms more often.
CAMILLA: Really?
ELINOR: Yeah! They like to come out of the soil
and crawl on sidewalks and other smooth spots.
CAMILLA: But why? Wouldn't it be better if they stay in their nice, comfy dirt? Away from me?
ELINOR: My mom says no one knows for sure why they do it.
Wow, look at how fast they can move into the soil. I wonder how can they do that?
We better hurry up and help these worms.
If they're still here when the water dries out, they'll get stuck!
Here, little squiggly friends! Time to get you home!
C'mon, Camilla! Let's help some worms!
CAMILLA: Okaaaaay. I guess we can help them get back to their home.
This worm won't stay on my spoon. Ew! They're so slimy!
ELINOR: Whoa, they do have slime. They're covered in it!
And it's so slippery!
I bet the slippery slime helps them crawl in the dirt faster.
So slime can be sticky AND slippery! That is so interesting!
CAMILLA: That's sorta cool... but still, EW!
I never want to touch slime. Never, ever, ever!
ELINOR: Good luck, worms! Have fun being slimy in the dirt! [giggles]
CAMILLA: [sighs] Everything is still too wet.
I guess we won't have a tea party today.
We might as well take off our fancy jewelry...
Nngh! Ugh! Ack!
ELINOR: What's wrong, Camilla?
CAMILLA: I can't get my mom's ring off! It's ... it's stuck!
Ugh! This is the worst day ever.
First, our tea party gets rained on and now my mom's ring is stuck on me.
My mom will probably never let me borrow any of her fancy jewelry again.
[sighs] We better go tell her.
Mom...
MS. DROMEDARY: Yes? What is it, dear?
CAMILLA: I ...I... um...
was just wondering what you were doing?
MS. DROMEDARY: Oh! Well, I was just opening up one of the leaves on this aloe vera plant.
You see, inside its leaves, there's...
ELINOR: [gasp] Slime!
MS. DROMEDARY: Yes. An aloe vera is a kind of plant called a succulent.
It has a special slime inside.
The plant uses the slime to store water for when it's dry.
That way it always has enough water to keep it healthy.
See? Take a look...
ELINOR: It really IS gooey and slippery!
CAMILLA: Mom, your special ring is stuck on my finger...
and I can't get it off. I'm sooo not fabulous.
MS. DROMEDARY: Oh, that's okay, Camilla.
These jewelry problems can happen sometimes, you're still fabulous.
Let's give it a slight yank, shall we...
Nggh! Nggh!
CAMILLA: See! It won't come off! I'm so sorry, Mom!
MS. DROMEDARY: It's okay dear. Hmm. If there was only a way to make the ring slippery...
ELINOR: Wait a minute! Slime helps worms slip around in the soil...
maybe slime can help take the ring off!
CAMILLA: Oh, blech! Worm slime?
I'd rather have this ring stuck on my finger forever than touch worm slime.
ELINOR: No, no no. Not worm slime... maybe we can use the slime from the aloe vera plant?
MS. DROMEDARY: Can't see why not.
Good idea, Elinor. Let's give it a shot!
CAMILLA: Uhh.... I don't know about this, Mom. I'm not a big fan of slime!
MS. DROMEDARY: [chuckles] It'll be fine, Camilla.
The slime inside an aloe vera plant has nutrients that help your skin stay healthy.
I was just making some hand lotion with it when you came in.
CAMILLA: Okay, Mom... if you say so.
I-I ... I like how it feels! It's so, so nice and COOL!
ELINOR: Whoa! Slime that's good for your skin... that's soooo interesting!
ALL: [giggles]
MS. DROMEDARY: Here we go!
ELINOR: It's gonna work. I just know it.
CAMILLA: I sure hope so!
Yes! It worked! Thanks so much, Mom!
ELINOR: Slime to the rescue.
KIDS: [giggles]
MS. DROMEDARY: Now that that's done with, you should probably wash your hands, Camilla.
CAMILLA: Not just yet! Can I make aloe vera lotion with you instead?
ELINOR: Me too! That sounds like fun!
MS. DROMEDARY: Of course! I'd love the extra helping hands!
ALL: [giggles]
