[Orli] My name is Agent Orli,
and this is my partner, Agent Ozzie.
This was my last birthday party.

Our job is to put things right again.

[Orli] We are "Odd Squad"!
[propulsive music]
[Captain O] "Oddtober the Thirteenth."
I'm Dottie Doubloon!And I'm Bubbly Bob!
Let me see if I got this.
Today is a holiday called "Oddtober the th."
Correct.
Where agents can dress up as villains?
Correct.
And we celebrate oddness instead of battling it?
Correct.
'Cause oddness is what brings us together.
Correct.
And you're stuck in a time loop
where you can only say the word "correct"?
Correct. Wait, no.
Just testing.
Orli, would you mind
laying out the dinner plates for the villain?
Sure. Wait, a villain?
Here? In Odd Squad H.Q.?
[Captain O] There's no need to fret, Agent Orli.
This confusion always happens when people discover
Oddtober the th.
Every year, one villain,
representing all villains,
is invited to Odd Squad H.Q.
If the villain likes our food,
entertainment, and a gift before the day is over,
Odd Squad and the villains take tomorrow off.
I'm going to go on a picnic with my new picnic blanket!
What happens if the villain doesn't like the three things?
We still take tomorrow off...
but the villains don't.
What?
It's a very poorly designed holiday.
They'll be free to cause unlimited oddness,
while we have to sit and watch from our sofas,
deck chairs...And picnic blankets.
But it's all under control.
We've invited Parched Pat,
the driest of all villains.
Osgood!
I made tree-bark fritters, sand canapes,
and plain toast.
Not a drop of moisture in sight.
[all] Ugh! So dry!
[Osgood] Bon appétit!
Mm-hmm?He's here.
Parched Pat has arrived in the tube lobby.
Ozzie, Orli, let's make sure Oddtober the th
is ship-shape, agents!
[Parched Pat] Hello, Odd Squad.
How perfectly average to see you.
By the way, I'm not going to like any food,
entertainment, or gifts you've prepared.
That way the villains get to cause oddness all day tomorrow!
And you can't stop us!
No, Pat, we're going to give you a lovely time today
and a relaxing day off tomorrow.
How dare you?
Let's go to the bullpen where Pat's feast awaits.
Uh, don't forget about my guest.
Your guest?
My invite said, "Parched Pat
and one guest."
So I invited the Square Squire.
Whato, pip pip and how do you do?
Hold on, who sent you an invite that let you bring a guest?
[horn beeping]It was me!
I thought that Parched Pat might want to bring a friend.
[horn beeps]
That's very nice of you, Opie.
Now your food has to please us both.
And if it isn't obvious,
I only like things that are square!
The only thing we have in common
is our desire to watch you fail!
[both villains laugh loudly]
Orli, you keep them distracted here
while I try and work out what food they'll both like.
But--
[gulps]
[dramatic music]
What is going on, Osgood?
Oh, just practicing for my day off
at the swimming pool tomorrow.
Hey, no splashing!
We have a problem.
Parched Pat brought the Square Squire as a guest
and now we need food that they'll both enjoy.
But Parched pat likes dry food
and the Square Squire likes square food.
Finding something they both enjoy will be impossible.
Maybe a Venn diagram will help?
A what-what-a-what?
A Venn diagram.
It's a type of picture we can use
to help us find out what things have in common.
[remote beeps]
So, in Parched Pat's circle,
we can have all the food that he likes.
Like tree-bark fritters, plain toast,
sand canapes...
And we do the same for the Square Squire.
So custard in a box,
plain toast with the crusts cut off,
and marmalade on a roof tile.
Mm!
Now we find out what foods they both like.
[computer beeps]
Aha! Plain toast with the crust cut off.
It's dry, it's square, it's appalling!
I'll use all my culinary skills to cook it immediately!
I have to admit,
it is perfect.
Yes, it sucked all of the moisture out of my mouth.
[mutters]
Well done, Ozzie-- looks like we'll be
enjoying our day off tomorrow.
Not so fast, Odd Squad!
You still have to entertain us.
Well, I have some music by Waterless Will
and his Four-Sided Band,
which I think you'll both enjoy.
Both? You mean all three of us!
[all] Three!
Greetings, Odd Squad!
[all] Fluorescent Florie!
[Orli] Excuse us.
Opie, why is Fluorescent Florie here?
Well, you know how I made a mistake
letting Parched Pat invite a guest?
Well, I thought it was only fair
to make the same mistake and let the Square Squire
invite a guest too.
Opie, promise me that no more villains
are going to come through that door!
You have my promise, Captain O.
Okay, Ozzie, you distract these three
while I go find some entertainment
they'll all enjoy.
But--
Oh!
[dramatic music]
Wow, what a great thing!
And another great thing!
And another!
Agent Orwell, what are you doing?
I'm practicing for my day off tomorrow.
I'm going sightseeing.
About that?
We have a problem.
We have Parched Pat, the Square Squire,
and now Fluorescent Florie is here!
So I need your help finding some entertainment
that all three will like.
Impossible.
Sightseeing canceled.
Maybe not.
Have you heard of a Venn diagram before?
Yes!
When you just said it!
It's a way to organize people and things
to see what they have in common.
It's how we knew to make toast for these two.
and if we add another circle for Fluorescent Florie...
[screen whooshes]
[Orwell] Interesting.
It works the same way.
Parched Pat likes baking empty casserole dishes,
playing in sandboxes,
and watching movies about dry things.
And the Square Squire likes
undoing origami,
watching movies about square things,
and sanding the edges of dinner plates?
And Fluorescent Florie is a big fan
of watching movies about fluorescent things.
She needs a hobby.Mm-hm.
Now we can see if the three share any likes.
[computer beeps][Orwell gasps]
They all like watching movies!
And I know the perfect one!
Thanks, Orwell!

I love this movie.
It's the best!
[dramatic music]
Okay, we get it. Cut, cut!
You found entertainment that we love.
Well done!
But now you have to find a gift
that all four of us like!
[all] Four?
Four?
Yep! Say hello to the Striped Bandit.
[Old West theme plays]
[Square Squire] So, Odd Squad,
what are you going to do now?
She only likes stripey things.
Hi!
Opie, you promised that no more villains
would come through that door!
She didn't! She came through that door.
Good luck finding a gift that suits all four of us!
And you don't have long!
Oddtober the th is nearly over!
Just give us one second, please,
and thank you very much!
Oddtober the th is never normally this difficult.
Should we be in here?Yes. No.
We'll tell Captain O it was an emergency.
We have four villains, four circles.
Each circle has a different gift
which each villain would like.
Parched Pat likes unused umbrellas and hairdryers.
[Ozzie] The Square Squire likes chessboards and photo frames
containing pictures of chessboards.
And Fluorescent Florie likes highly-visible
safety clothing.
Wow, she really does need a hobby.
Struggling, are we?
Tick tock! Tick tock!
[both laugh]
Hurry, before those weirdos come back!
[remote beeps]
And finally, the Striped Bandit
likes toy zebras and real tigers.
Ugh! This is impossible.
They all like completely different things.
We're going to fail and have to take tomorrow off.
So much for my picnic blanket.
[both gasping]
Opie, your blanket keeps you dry!
And when it's unfolded, it's square!
It's fluorescent!
And stripey.
I don't see why this is important.
Ozzie, quick--add Opie's blanket to the Venn diagram!
[computer whirs]
[Ozzie] It fits all the circles!
Opie, can we give it to the villains?
Well...
if it's going to save tomorrow,
then...[clock ticking]
Yes!
[Ozzie and Orli] Thank you!
[dramatic music]
Here is our gift that all four of you will enjoy!
It's a dry, square, fluorescent,
stripey picnic blanket!
It's...[all] Perfect!
[agents] Yes!
[villains] No!
[applause]Well, it looks like
the villains will be taking tomorrow off after all.
[Square Squire] Oh, very well. Tsk tsk!
To be honest, I'm kind of relieved.
I need some me time.
And I need to find myself a hobby. Ha ha!

Captain O.Agent Orwell.
Something very odd has happened.
I can't open this jar of pickles.
Let me handle this.
[grunting, straining]
No, can't do it. Sorry.
And something even odder has happened.
Villain X is back.
[gasps]
[remote beeps]
I'm back! And I'm causing more oddness than ever.
Like this house I've covered completely in sunglasses.
[chuckles]
Oh, you'll never catch me, Odd Squad...
especially Agent Overhill.
See you around![beeps]
Does Agent Overhill know that Villain X is back?
I do.
And to make matters worse,
today's my last day here at Odd Squad.
Villain X has escaped me my whole career.
I'll retire a failure.
But you solved the hairy rain oddness!
The flying door oddness!
The square banana oddness!
And I know you can beat X!
I wish I had your positivity.
Your wish is granted.
So you can retire a happy agent,
I'm pairing you with Orwell and his positivity
to catch Villain X.
I'm honored.
Let's go!
[dramatic music]Osgood!
More pickles, Captain?
Always... but no.
I need you to get everyone to sign this goodbye card
for Agent Overhill.
I tried asking Opie, but she was delayed
with getting a present.
[plucky music]
Too much choice!
Leave it to me. I'm on it, Captain.
[dramatic music]
[Orwell] There must be something that connects the oddness
X is causing.
Villain X doesn't seem to have a pattern.
[alarm sounding]Sounds like Villain X
just sent us another message.
[chuckling] Too slow, Overhill.
I've already struck at another house on Oak Street.
Check this out![Orwell] Yuck.
[Overhill] He's covered the house with flies!
See you around.
We need to figure out which house
X is going to strike next.
[Orwell] Here are the houses X has struck so far.
What do they have in common?
[Overhill] They both have yellow doors.
That's it!
X is hitting houses with yellow doors.
Are there any other yellow doors on Oak Street!
Just one! Number six.
[Orwell] Ha! We've figured out a pattern.
Let's go!
There's Villain X!
[both] Odd Squad, Odd Squad! Stop right there!
Hey, you made me drop my box!
We're sorry.
We thought you were Villain X.
Did anything break?
No, I don't like carrying heavy things,
so the box is empty.
[off screen] Odd Squad, help!
It's coming from next door!
Quick!
Who's Villain X?
Oh, no!
Not hearts! Anything but hearts!
You don't like hearts?
Hearts remind me of Valentine's Day,
which reminds me chocolate,
which reminds me of Easter,
which reminds me of bunnies. Ech!
What's wrong with bunnies?
Their noses.
Their twitchy little noses.
So weird.
We must have just missed X.
But why did he strike here?
The door isn't yellow; it's blue.
Let's look at the houses he hit again.
[whirring]
Look at the doors!
All the houses X struck
have a triangle on the front door.
[whirring]
Are there any more doors on Oak Street
with a triangle on it?
Yeah, number .
The kind of copied me, but whatever.
Great! Let's hop over to number .
Hopping? Ew!
That's another thing I don't like about bunnies.
[dramatic music]
[both] Oh, let's go, let's go!
Orli, Ozzie...
Aren't you two supposed to be on a case?
[both] We are.
We're taking Charlie Change, the shapeshifting villain,
up to the interrogation room.
[Charlie] You're not taking me anywhere! Ha ha!
He changed into a table football table?
[grunting] It was easy when he was a ball of wool.
Well, I just need a second of your time.
I've got Agent Overhill's goodbye card here.
Could you sign it?
Sure!
[Charlie] That's what you think!
[zapping]
Hey, that's not very friendly, Charlie Change.
Sorry.
I guess you're gonna need another card.
[dramatic music]
[Orwell] We've got him this time!
Odd Squad, Odd Squad, stop right there!
[screaming]
Oh, my bird seed!
Wait.
There's nothing on this house.
Villain X hasn't been here yet.
Sorry, ma'am.
Thought you were a villain.Don't apologize.
I normally feed the birds one seed at a time,
but this way is much quicker.
Thank you!
[victim] Odd Squad, help me!
That's back at number !
Oh, come on!
Hey, Opie.
What's that?
Agent Overhill loves making doll's house furniture,
so we got her Shrinkinator as a retirement present.
Watch.
[zapping]
[sighs]
Oh, cool.
And I got a goodbye card to go with it.
Can you sign?Of course.
Let me get a pen.[zapping]
Opie!
Sorry.
I'm gonna need another card.
[off screen] Odd Squad, Odd Squad! Help!
My house! My lovely house is ruined!
[Orwell] Sand timers? What's going on?
This house has a pentagon-- a five-sided shape--
on the door, not a triangle.
I told you. It's hopeless.
[badge phone rings]
Overhill speaking.
Still can't figure out my pattern, Overhill?
You're almost out of time.
Hence the sand timers. Get it?
I don't get it.
Because it's not funny.
Everyone's a critic.
So long, Overhill.
It's been a pleasure...
beating you your whole career!
[evil chuckling][badge phone clicks]
[busy signal]Are you still there?
It's over.
I give up.
X has won.
Oh!
I just got the sand timer joke. Ha!
There's still time to solve this case.
I can smell we're getting close.
Forget it, Orwell.
I've failed.
Are you an Odd Squad agent or not?
Yeah. And do Odd Squad agents give up?
No.No, they don't.
You'retheAgent Overhill,
and you're gonna solve this case before you retire
in the next...
ooh, ten minutes.
You're right, Agent Orwell!
There must be a pattern somewhere.
Let me take a little look.
Psst! Orwell?
Osgood, I'm kind of in a tricky situation.
Try getting a card signed.
It's been destroyed a load of times!
I've finally got everyone to sign it,
apart from you.
Okay, give it here.
[card rips]
No!Sorry.
Not again.
Hang on, the card! Give that to me!
Look at this card. What do you see?
A wasted day.
It's symmetrical.
Oh, I know what that is.
Something's symmetrical when you can fold it
perfectly in half.
Like hearts, sunglasses, flies..
[Orwell] And sand timers!
X's plan is about symmetry!
But wait, none of the houses X hit are symmetrical.
No, but let's take a look at some of the houses
X didn't hit.
These houses are all symmetrical.
They look exactly the same if you fold them in half
down the middle.Just like an X.
X loves symmetrical things,
so he's been striking the non-symmetrical houses
on Oak Street.
You can still catch X.
Which houses on the street are not symmetrical?
[Overhill] There's just one left.
Number !Let's finish this!
[power zapping]
[Orwell] There he is, at number !
[both] Odd Squad, Odd Squad, stop right there!
Ugh, I don't believe it!
[sighs]
I was so close to retiring with a perfect record.
Wait, you're retiring too?
Yeah. Congratulations, Agent Overhill.
You... beat me.
[both] We did.
Now, go and clean up all those houses you ruined.
Okay. [sighs]
See you round.
Thank you, Orwell.
I couldn't have done this on my own.
You gave this old agent the push they needed.
[portal zapping]
Congratulations, you two.
Mission accomplished.
But I've failed mine.
Don't worry, it's perfect.
Want me to sign it?
