Al: Hey, kids! The forecast calls for fun!

Lily: The Vansformer.

Look, Lily.

I drew a picture of a marigold.

You chose the perfect yellow for your petals, Benny.

Yeah.

[giggles]

Lily: Flex-Specs.

Activate.

Measure height.

Huh, Marigold grew a whole inch

since we last measured her.

But Marigold looks the same to me

[giggles]

To grow, plants need soil, water, and sunlight.

But they grow very slowly, so it's hard to see it happen.

That's why we measure marigold.

Benny: They need sunlight, too?

Lily: Yep. Sunlight is a plant's best friend.

Hey, what happened to the sun?

Again?

Here, Marigold. More sunlight.

So you can grow big and strong like me.

[giggles]

[gasp]

Benny: Oh, no!

Lily! Lily, the sun is gone.

How's Marigold going to grow without it?

Just because we can't see the sun

doesn't mean it's not there.

Corky: Look at that.

Al: Now that we're all moved in, we can finally

dig into this garage

and see what we find.

Ready to dive into some family history, Corky?

Oh, you bet Dad.

Here in the backyard of our new Hunter family home.

I'm filming the very first episode of

Corky's Weird Weather Mysteries.

This is where I will report on things

that make you go, “Hm.”

Or “What?”

Or sometimes even

“Whoa!”

Corky: Today, we solve the mystery of

what will we find in Great Grandpa Wallace's garage?

Now, that is a catchy name.

And it's time to open Grandpa Wallace's garage

and find out what he's kept inside.

Okay, Dad.

Al/Corky: Oh!

Corky: Whoa!

I wasn't expecting anything like this.

I was thinking

old bicycles or rusty tools, but a giant wall of boxes?

Corky: Total shocker.

Check it out.

There are shapes on all these boxes

That's got to mean something.

Looks like we've got another wonderful

Grandpa Wallace puzzle to solve.

Corky: What do you mean, Dad?

My Grandpa Wallace loved puzzles

because they're good exercise for your brain.

So he always left us puzzles to discover and solve.

I wonder what's in these boxes.

Al: If I know Grandpa Wallace,

we'll have to think outside the box to solve this puzzle.

Corky: Did he tell dad-jokes too

Al: Who do you think I learned them from?

Now, about these boxes.

Oh, Hunters! Come check out the

box load of fun we found in here.

Lily: Coming, Dad.

Benny: Yeah.

We can take Marigold with us.

She can explore the garage, too.

Lily: Whoa!

Benny: Wow. That's a whole lot of boxes.

I wonder what's in them

and what's behind them?

Al: There could be anything from old photographs to

rubber chickens.

Lily: Rubber chickens?

Dot: Oh, yeah.

I wouldn't put it past Grandpa Wallace.

He had a silly sense of humor.

Don't you mean Great Grandpa Wallace?

Dot: Well, to your father and me he was just Grandpa Wallace.

To you kids, he's Great Grandpa Wallace.

Oh. Hey, Dad, can we open the boxes?

Sure.

I'm kind of curious to see what's inside of them myself.

Lily/Corky: Yeah. Benny: Whoo-hoo!

Okay, Hunter family.

Let's organize these boxes by the shapes that are on them.

Hunters, line up.

This one's got the shape of a rectangle on it.

Corky: Rectangle. Lily: Rectangle.

Are these Grandma and Grandpa's boxes?

Benny: Rectangle. Al: Rectangle. Check.

No. They've got to be my Grandpa Wallace's.

My dad said

they could never use the garage because Grandpa Wallace

left it full of his treasures.

Benny: You mean, like, buried treasure?

Al: More like “packed up in lots and lots of boxes” treasure.

Benny: But why is Great Grandpa Wallace's stuff still here?

Al: Benny, our family is so proud of him.

Al: He was a scientific genius and pioneer in meteorology

That's the study of weather.

And he was one of the first black men in our country

to do weather forecasting on TV.

Taking care of his things

and inventions

is our way of keeping him with us and honoring him.

Circle.

Circle.

Lily: Circle. Benny: Circle.

Circle.

Dot: Another square. Corky: Square.

Square.

Square.

[grunts]

Benny: Did Grandpa Wallace collect rocks?

Al: I don't think so, Benny,

but let me give you a hand.

Hm.

Benny: Still no sun.

This one's got the shape of a rectangle on it.

Rectangle.

Rectangle.

No more boxes.

Oh!

Al: Hey, Dot!

Is that it?

Oh my gosh!

Wow!

Benny: Whoa!

Lily: Whoa!

Corky: This is amazing.

Behold!

We have just discovered an old van

Is it a relic from the past?

Or a gateway to new adventures?

Al: Another piece of the puzzle, perhaps?

Hm, I know a thing or two about cars and engines,

but this looks like it could be something quite different.

I don't think it's a gas guzzler

Whoa!

Grandpa Wallace made an electric vehicle years ago?

Forget electric.

Dot: How about solar energy powered?

Wow.

Hm, that's weird.

There's no steering wheel.

No steering wheel?

I wonder what else is missing.

Dot: Good question, Lily.

Al: Only one way to find out.

All: Huh?

This looks like a puzzle

that's missing its pieces.

What? Huh? [alarm beeping]

A blueprint?

Hm.

Hello, Hunter family!

[gasp]

Grandpa.

Oh, wow.

Is that Great Grandpa Wallace?

It's me, Wallace Hunter.

Congratulations.

it means you have found my greatest creation.

Great Grandpa Wallace: Other than my family of course.

This is my mobile weather station, designed

to gather weather information

and forecast the weather on the go.

I call it a Vansformer.

A Vansformer?

That's an interesting name.

I wonder what it means?

You might have noticed,

it's not quite finished.

You can say that again.

That's because I thought

I'd leave you a puzzle to solve.

Use the blueprint I left in the van to guide you.

You'll find everything you'll need

in the boxes that I left in this garage.

He was always coming up with cool puzzles

for us to solve together.

Why did Great Grandpa Wallace set it up like this?

Great Grandpa Wallace wanted to create something

for us.

What's a blueprint?

These look like plans for sosme kind of

high tech weather machine.

Dot: It's got a turbocharged Doppler radar

and a highly sensitive hydrometer

to measure humidity.

Wow. Grandpa Wallace really knew what he was doing.

Al: Those instruments up there on the roof

are all we need to help us measure the weather.

Corky: And the monitors and other tools inside

the van will help us produce and broadcast our weather report

I can't wait.

Benny: But how do we build it?

Lily: Look.

Lily: Each missing piece is mark with a different shape

here on the blueprint.

Hm.

I wonder?

Hm! Yes, just as I thought.

Corky: Tell us, Lily, what have you discovered?

When I saw the shapes on the blueprint,

I wondered if they matched the shapes on the boxes.

Al: Great observation, Lily!

Lily: Looks like the boxes might need to

finish building the Vansformer.

Dot: How about we test this theoroy?

We have to match

the shapes on the boxes

to the shapes marked on the blueprint.

That will tell us where everything goes.

Benny: This box has a star on it

Al: That's right, my little stargazer.

Would this find a home in the van

We'll see.

Lily, lead the way.

Lily: Dad, can you hold the

blueprint open so I can see it?

Al: How's this?

Lily: Perfect. Thanks, Dad.

Lily: I need to find the spot on the blueprint marked with the

marked with the star.

Benny: Marigold and I want to see if it fits, too.

Dot: Okay.

Lily: Yes!

Dot: Let's keep going

and fit all the pieces in Hunters.

Lily: It's a square.

Benny: Can I find where it goes in the van?

Al: Go for it, Benny.

my little bro's turn to solve a piece of the puzzle.

I just have to find the square.

I think that goes there.

Dot: Hm, let's see.

Pick it up, Benny.

Benny: Oh, that square space is too small.

Dot: Sometimes puzzles can be a bit tricky

So I'm looking for a square space on the blueprint.

just noticed that the square on the box is really big,

so I have to find another square space in the blueprint.

Benny: I found a big square.

Just like in the blueprint.

Benny: Ooh-hoo! Dot: Yes!

Dot: You did it, Benny.

Benny: Yay! Let's do the rest.

We did it!

Lily: Uh-oh. We're still missing one piece.

It's in the shape of a triangle.

Dot: But I don't see any more boxes.

Al: It's not like Grandpa Wallace

to forget something important.

There's got to be another box around here somewhere

that we overlooked.

Let's double check the blueprint

It has all the answers.

Lily: Yup. We are missing something,

and it is in the shape of a triangle.

Okay, Hunters.

We're looking for a box with a triangle on it.

Let's split up to cover some ground.

With the final piece still missing

will the Hunters ever get to drive in the Vansformer?

Or are they grounded?

Dun dun dah.

[humming]

Hey, Benny, whatcha doing?

Drawing the sun for Marigold to keep her

company until the real sun comes back.

That's thoughtful of you.

Any chance you've seen a box with a triangle on it?

Benny: Like this one I'm using as a chair?

[giggles]

Lily: Everyone!

Benny found the box.

Corky/Al: Whoo-hoo! Dot: Yay!

Corky: And just like that,

the Hunters have found the missing piece

of the puzzle.

[gasp]

Did you see that, folks?

Corky: This van just went full sci-fi mode

Wow. Grandpa Wallace thought of everything.

He designed the perfect weather station with everything

an expert meteorologist needs.

And a budding expert meteorologist, too.

Lily: Yeah!

And did you see this radar screen

Check.

Now we can track and forecast the weather.

Lily: It's a cool anemometer with round cups.

I can't wait to use it to measure wind speed.

We did it.

All: Yeah!

Vansformer: Good job!

I am pleased to announce that this mobile weather station

is now complete.

Whoa!

It's Great Grandpa Wallace's voice again!

Vansformer: Commencing safety check

Tire pressure, optimum. Checking brake system.

Brake system functional.

Initiating internal diagnostic. Seat alignments and safety belts

Secure. Finalizing safety check.

Safety check complete. Weather Hunters,

you may now safely operate the Vansformer.

Grandpa Wallace always said, “Safety first.”

W.H. Hey, the initials on the van

They could also stand for Weather Hunters.

I'm just saying.

Whoa!

You heard it here first.

The Hunters are now officially “The Weather Hunters.

Since it's Wallace Hunter-approved safe,

who's ready to take this mobile weather station for a spin?

Lily: I am.

Benny: Me.

Corky: All right. Dot: Me, too. Whoo-hoo!

This is so cool.

Wow! Can you believe it, Marigold?

We're gonna go for a drive.

All: Yay!

Great Grandpa Wallace was a true genius.

Corky: Lily, tell us what you're thinking.

This is the most exciting adventure ever.

And now I understand why Great Grandpa Wallace named

it a Vansformer.

It's a van that transforms into an airplane.

Folks, how cool is that?

Corky: Are you excited about all this too?

What's wrong?

I'm still worried Marigold won't grow if she doesn't

get some sunlight soon.

We're flying in the sky

so we can find all the sunlight Marigold needs right here.

Lily: Dad, can we fly higher above the clouds

so Benny can see the sun?

Al: Let me see.

Al: Here at Hunter Airlines, the sky's the limit.

Literally.

There it is, Lily. We found it Marigold!

We found it.

Benny: Now you can grow, Marigold

[giggles]

You were right, Lily.

The sun was there all along,

even if I couldn't see it behind the clouds.

I'm so glad Great Grandpa Wallace

left us this amazing Vansformer and this blueprint.

We couldn't have built this van without it.

No kidding. That blueprint was pretty cool

the way it helped us figure out where

to put all the cool weather equipment he left behind for us.

Now that we have the Vansformer, whenever we need to see,

or do, or find something, we can just go there.

And that's what being a weather hunter is all about.

I am too amazed to think of a joke

You think Marigold's had enough

Yes, and my tummy's saying it's dinner o'clock.
