Birdman!

Birdman!

Ever since Birdman sent me to prison,
I have been working to escape.

Clear the room!

Get a stretcher for the
prisoner Demaniac!

I feel strangely powerful,
as if I had changed somehow.

The chemicals, they've made
me as fast as lightning.

The perfect means of escape.

What happened?

we were carrying a
prisoner to the hospital.

And now we're handcuffed.

He's gone!

Bah! I don't need their g*ns.

With my speed, I am
invulnerable to recapture.

Stop! Or I'll sh**t!

Stop! Who's there?

Something opened
the door. But how?

Perfect! This titanium
heat-resistant uniform

will keep me from burning up from
the tremendous speed I generate.

No longer am I Luther Demaniac.

From now on, the world will know
and fear me as the Speed Demon.

And now to test my new super speed.

Time to pack the money
away for the day, Watkins.

Sir, the money!

Someone put this card in my hand.

It says, greetings from
the Speed Demon.

This is child's play.
I need a greater challenge.

And this, ladies and gentlemen,

is the famous crown of ransom ore,

valued at one million dollars.

Perfect! I'll add it to my collection.

The crown has been stolen!

It's the Speed Demon!
He's struck again!

And so, in one short week,
the Speed Demon has stolen a fortune.

What are these paltry
treasures to me?

With the power I possess,
nothing is beyond my grasp.

And I'll prove it by doing the
impossible, destroying Birdman.

Calling Inter-Nation Police,
this is the Speed Demon.

Let me speak to Falcon 7.

So, now the Speed Demon is
announcing his crimes in advance, huh?

He threatened to steal the
new experimental m*ssile

that's being transported
across the desert right now.

Good luck, Birdman. But remember,
he has vowed to do away with you.

Birdman!

There's the m*ssile up ahead.

What? Hey, no!

No time for explanations.

Someone's taken control of
the m*ssile hauler. After it!

They won't follow me for long.

Now, to set the stage for Birdman.

By now, Birdman knows
I've stolen the m*ssile.

Ah, my guest is arriving now.

Wait here, Avenger.
There's the stolen m*ssile.

And so, straight into my trap, Birdman.

What's happening?
I'm caught in a tornado.

I almost have him.

I'm getting dizzy.

So, Birdman, we meet again.

The Speed Demon,
alias Luther Demoniac.

I wouldn't use your solar
energy powers, Birdman.

That nose cone is set to go off
with the slightest radiation.

And if you look at that
mountain in the distance,

you'll notice the titanium target.

The m*ssile is programmed to home
in on that when I push this lever.

With these remote controls, I can
fire the m*ssile from a safe distance.

No Birdman and no mountain.

What will you accomplish
by destroying me?

First, my final revenge on you.

And secondly,

that is supposed to be the mountain

which holds the lost Dutchman's mine.

Farewell, Birdman.

Don't dare use my solar powers.

But if I just unscrew that
detonator on the end.

Quickly, Avenger.
Unscrew that detonator.

Good work. But I'm still trapped.

If I use my solar radiation,
the m*ssile will blow up anyway.

Now for my moment of triumph.

Away, Avenger.
The m*ssile's about to fire.

Only one chance.

I'll throw my solar shield
against that target.

Maybe I can deflect the m*ssile.

What's happened?
It's heading toward me.

My titanium suit.
It's attracting the m*ssile.

More speed. It's gaining.

Uh-oh. I'm headed right
at the Speed Demon.

Got to try my solar shield again.

Quickly, Avenger.
Help me break free.

Now for the Speed Demon.

I must escape.
But I feel old and tired.

Great Scott.
He's become an old man.

No. It can't be.

You must have hastened the aging
process with that last burst of speed.

Trying to outrun the m*ssile.

The doctors were able to
stop the aging process.

But that's all, warden.

Demoniac will remain an old man.

Well, at least he won't be
causing any more trouble.

But just in case.

I'm keeping him out of
the prison lab, Birdman.

Birdman. He's gone.

Birdman!

Intergalactic Central reports another
outpost mysteriously destroyed.

I'm going to run an outpost check.

Roger, Vapor Man.

Galaxy Trio calling outpost A-15.
Report Ranger 90.

Ranger 90 reporting all
clear on A-15, Galaxy Trio.

Wait. Something's dropping on the dome.
They look like green spores.

The spores are coming together.

They're forming some gigantic creature.

It's breaking in!

Stand by, Ranger 90. Stand by.

Thanks. That was close.

That thing almost got me.

And now we've got to
get it rigged for landing.

Nothing here but wreckage.

Ranger 90 safe in the ship.

Let's spread out and search the area.

Looks like something
moved down there.

That's funny. Nothing here.

Find anything, Meteor Man?

Nothing. Let's check with Gravity Girl.

Calling Gravity Girl.
Calling Gravity Girl.

Calling Gravity Girl.

Come in, Gravity Girl.

Something's wrong.
Let's get moving.

Gravity Girl. Answer me.
Gravity Girl.

Gravity Girl. I'll get you
out of there in no time.

So, you're ready to pick
on someone your own size.

Be right with you, Gravity Girl.

That was almost too easy.

Meteor Man, look out!

Vapor Man, hurry!

If I can just get it
under that ledge.

Now to triple the
gravity of the rock.

Uh-oh. At least now he's
small enough to lift.

Oh, no. Another one.

All mine, Gravity Girl.

Try some nitro vapor.

Everything I do makes things worse.

Now there's four of them.

If freeze vapor doesn't work,
we're sunk.

That won't hold them long.

Got to help Gravity Girl.

Let him drop, Gravity Girl.

This'll stop him for now.

What is this stuff?
We're not even denting it.

It's some super fiber,
and inside it gives off a sleeping gas.

So he's asleep, eh?

Well, maybe I can wake him up.

Call Ranger 90 and have
him bring the ship here.

Calling Condor One.
Calling Condor One.

He's awake. What did you use?

Flame vapor. I gave
him a giant hot foot.

Meteor Man, activate
your growth cells.

- I made it.
- Here comes Condor One.

And here comes the giant spore.

Maybe we can draw it
into the gatherer m*ssile.

If we can disconnect it fast enough.

No time for that.

Switch on the intake power.

It's working.
Full intake power, Meteor Man.

You've done it, Meteor Man.

Ready to fire m*ssile?

Stand back. I'm going to
try a heat vapor launch.

Well, it's gone.

That thing's destroyed its last outpost.

I wonder where it came from.

Someone sent it, that's for certain.

Or it wouldn't have only
attacked our space outposts.

And no doubt we'll run into
that someone someday soon.

Right now, though,
we have a delivery to make.

Ranger 90. I almost forgot him.

Let's get him to Ranger headquarters.

Birdman!

That town looks ready
for the taking, Jesse.

Let me take a look, Dr. Cordo.

Yep, I can see the bank,
the jewelry store...

and the other spots that
you mapped out for us.

Taking that town will be like
taking candy from a baby...

for Jesse Johns and his g*ng.

Mount up, boys. We're ready to ride.

Those mounts can do
up to 500 miles an hour.

Too bad your ancestor didn't have
me around in the good old days.

Right, Cordo. But I'll finish
what Jesse James started.

Meet you back in our hideout.

Let's ride.

The Raiders! They're coming!

Blast them!

Give them the Paralyzer Blast Burst!

Hey, clean out the vaults.

That Paralyzer shall wear off soon.

Not a piece of jewelry
left in town, Jesse.

It's all here.

The town is clean. Let's ride.

And we just had word the Raiders
struck another western town.

We have no idea who they
are or where they came from.

But their weapons
are extremely modern.

They've made fools of law and order.

Avenger and I will leave at
once for that western area.

Birdman!

The towns they raided
were in this area.

Wait, my radar watch has
zeroed in on them, Avenger.

They must have raided that
little town just ahead of us.

Look, it's Birdman.

And they just cleaned
out the bank, too.

You can just see them disappearing
in that cloud of jet dust.

Good. I've been trying
to pick up their trail.

Birdman!

It's Birdman.

Blast them with the laser r*fle.

Those are laser beams, but they
can't penetrate my solar shield.

I guess we ought to start giving
them a dose of their own medicine.

All right, you imitation cowboy, talk.

Where do you and your cowardly
friends make your headquarters?

You're not getting any
information out of me.

I see you need a little persuasion.

Hey, let go.

Now talk, or I'm going to
let you go down by yourself.

No, you don't scare me.

Okay, I'll talk.

Coming, cowboy.

Thanks, Birdman. Thanks.

I'll talk.

You can have him, trooper.

I'll go after the rest of the g*ng.

I know their hideout now.

Go to it, Birdman.
I'll take care of this one.

Let's go, Avenger.

Birdman.

He's found our hideout.

Let him come.

I've been itching to tangle with him.

Not a man or Birdman who can
outdraw my laser sh**ting iron.

Maybe, but why take chances?

My electronic rope
will tie him into knots.

There it is, just below.

What's this? A trap.

Got him.

Birdman, all trussed up like a cat.

Let's get him inside.

I knew we'd have some
need of that jail cell someday.

My ancestor would have
plugged him by now.

Let me do it.

Jesse James has no ancestors.

You and your bunch are nothing
but a g*ng of two-bit hoodlums.

I'll fix him.

Easy, Jesse.

We got a big job ahead of us.

Those bars are made of titanium,
Birdman, so save your strength.

Governor is coming in
on a Western Flyer train,

and we're taking him as hostage.

Stop that, Birdman, if you can.

You talk too much, Jesse.

Let's go, boys.

I'll be back to take
care of you, Birdman.

Cordo was right.

This special metal is too much for me.

And being down here so
long has drained my energy.

But I must get out of here.

Avenger.

Good thing they forgot this rope.

Get it tied to something that
moves, Avenger, and fast.

Good boy. Hurry.

That did it.

Must replenish my strength,
my powers, with rays of the sun.

I feel like myself again.

Now, let's find that train.

Birdman!

There it is.

Those torn-up tracks will
stop the train about here.

Good. Before they
know what's happened,

we'll have the Governor.

The tracks, Avenger.

Those devils ripped them up
to wreck the Governor's train.

They'll never stop in time.
It's up to me.

Get the engineer.
We'll get the Governor.

It's Birdman. Fire!

My solar shield will
take care of them.

It's a warning cry from Avenger.

They have the Governor.

Hold it, Birdman.
We've got the Governor.

Okay, Birdman.
What are you gonna do now?

I'll face all four of
you in a shootout.

Just get the Governor
out of harm's way.

I've been waiting for
this for a long time.

Draw.

Enough. You beat us.

Birdman, I hardly know how
to thank you for what you did.

I was glad to help out, Governor.

I don't think the West will be
bothered by that g*ng again.

Up, Avenger.

Birdman!

Birdman!
