was likely in touch with him.

lead from the streets

[Rex whimpers]

Curtis went all out on this.
There's a camera, a microphone,
and a bone conductive headset.

We want to be with Rex
every step of the way.
As you can see-

You remember Billy Sparks?
He was the guy
that ratted me out.
But he used one of his
underlings to do the dirty work.
And it took me a minute
to figure that out.
But now Billy knows I'm out.
And Billy knows he's
the next name on my list.
So he's upped his security.
Good company, too.
But Curtis here did some time
in the operation-
and was able to
access the layout.
The entire system.
So we're going to go in there-
and send Billy a little message.

We've also been
fielding false tips
for the last couple of hours.
We're definitely being played.
Dispatcher: Yeah, we've been
chasing a lot of those.
[indistinct chatter]
[door lock beeps]
[Jesse sighs]
Jesse: Hey, anything?
I checked out
Curtis's apartment.
It was cleaned out.
Mankiewicz knew we'd ID Curtis.
He just wasted an
hour of our time.
I've got a fix
on Curtis's phone.
But it just-it doesn't
make any sense.
Okay.
Here's the location where
Sarah and Rex were kidnapped.
Now, the route goes
along Cornwall,
then up Columbus.
But then it starts meandering.
It was stopping and moving
at irregular intervals-
until it finally just stopped.
I've sent two patrols there
who have clear
eyes on the street.
But nobody matches Curtis.
Well he knew we'd be on
to Curtis and the phone.
He dumped it in another vehicle.
Something that would
be on the move-
to keep us busy.
So what's our next move?
Any opening Mankiewicz gives us
is designed to waste our time.
We can't play his game.

That's the kind of thing
Rex knows how to use.
Sarah: Wait-
no, hold on.

Rex didn't just know
how to use vents.
That was a dangerous operation.
He had to train for that.
All right.
But tell me how they prepared
my boy Rex here the first time.
Well first of all-
they were off site.
So they had to improvise.
Renley: We've got three
lengths of carpet
to exactly match the lengths
of the venting system
leading to the lab.
He needs to associate
this precise distance
with crawling low.
-Charlie: Good job.
-That's a bit better.
The next one is the
fork in the road.
So you've got to get him
to go down and to the left.
-Down buddy.
-Good.

well, it sends a bad message.
Then everyone thinks they
can take a shot at you.

in a landscaper's truck.
So we know where they aren't.
I'll bet that landscaper drives
this route every Wednesday.
Maybe Mankiewicz chose
that truck and that route
for a reason.
To lead us in a
different direction
from where he took
Sarah and Rex.
It's worth a shot.
Yeah, look!
They were abducted
in Mount Pearl.
The landscaper's route winds
consistently northeast.
Is there anyone in
Mankiewicz's enemy list
who's located southwest
of where they were taken?
I'll look into it.
Yeah.

potential targets
coincide with companies
where Curtis may have
worked in the last few months.
I suspect he knows
we're after him.
And he doesn't have long.

That's a good question.
And Curtis's GPS timeline
in the last month
says he passed by that
operation three times.
That company is
owned by Bill Sparks.
But from what I've read,
Sparks is a solid citizen.
Everybody's got secrets.
And some more than others.
Should we scramble a unit?

he won't be far away.

with his own eyes.

looks like it'd be
a good vantage point.
Modern cameras on the wall,
right beside the fish plant.
And it's good security for
a place that looks vacant.

Where's Sarah and Rex?
Well if I'm right-
and I hope I'm not-
Rex will be in Sparks's plant
doing whatever Mankiewicz
wanted him for.
Sarah will be inside
the white building.
Try and avoid the cameras.

Air Service Captain:

And Mankiewicz is in custody!
[officers cheering]
All searching units

Mark: All right,

pretty relaxed for
someone who spent the day
as a hostage to a
homicidal criminal.
Sarah: I'm actually

to think about it too much.
[Sarah sighs]
I mean, he would have

And not felt a thing.
[Rex whines]

And of course, I had
Rex to support me.
Jesse: No better
backup in a pinch.
I'll tell you.
I just spoke to the prison.
They said they're upping
security on Mankiecwicz.
And hopefully that's
the last we'll see of him.
But I guess we should never
underestimate his ingenuity.
Or his insanity.
Speaking from recent experience,
I agree with that.
Yeah, plus, I mean,
added bonus, Sarah.
You overheard Bill Sparks
talking about a deal
over Rex's audio link.
So Coast Guard was able
to take down the Northern Mist
with a cargo full
of his contraband.
Mark: Okay!
I think we can all
drink to that.
