for them to bloom.

Yup. Mama's going to invite
all our monster friends

to come see
the singing snapdragons.

but looks like we got trouble
on the way.

Monstro-Crows.

[Vampirina]
Monstro-Crows? Oh, no.

I don't know
what Monstro-Crows are,

but I'm scared already.

Monstro-Crows are really bad
news for Transylvanian gardens.

They eat up any kind
of monster crop.

I just never thought
they'd find us

all the way here
in Pennsylvania.

If the Monstro-Crows
eat the snapdragons,

then they can't sing
at our party.

We've got to do something.

-Go away.
-Bad birds.

-[birds cawing]
-[Gregoria] Get out of here.

[yawns]

Can't a ghost take a nap
inside a pumpkin these days?

Aah!

Demi, we've got Monstro-Crows.

Don't worry.
Ghost on the job.

I'll just, I don't know,
spook them away

with my spooktacular
spooking talents.

-I got to see this.
-Excuse me, crows,

-[cawing]

Okay, that did not
go as planned.

But if at first
you don't succeed...

Maybe we can't scare
these crows away.

No. To scare crows,
we need a scarecrow.

Demi, Gregoria, do your best
to keep the crows away.

bad situation.

Oh, frogs and fangs.

If we don't stop those crows,

we won't have much of a garden
for our garden party.

I'm Vee, and we're so glad
you're here.

I hope it's not
too corny to say,

but I'm feeling dandy
as a dumpling to be here too.

Now, what can
I do you for?

We need you to scare
all the Monstro-Crows

away from our garden.

Scare? Well, I wouldn't
call scaring my specialty.

I prefer to sing and dance
and make people laugh.

You're really, really great
at all those things.

But for today, can you be
really, really scary too?

Well, don't you worry
your pretty heart, little Vee.

I'll get rid
of all your crow problems.

And that's a scare-antee.

[laughs]

Well, howdy there, crows.

That's not very
neighborly of you.

Leave this garden alone.

Shoo. Now, shoo!

Thatch? You have to scare them
away, remember?

Oh, yeah. You're right.

[yells]

[blathering]

I'm always the first
to be scared,

but what Thatch is doing
is not scary at all.

Hey, Thatch?

Maybe we can try
something else.

These Monstro-Crows
are pretty stubborn.

And hungry! Help!

Okeydokey, little Vee.

I'll just tell
a scary joke.

[chuckles]

Hey, uh,

what's a skeleton's
favorite instrument?

[caws]

A trom-bone.

[giggles]

What a rough crow-ed.

Thundering snapcorn.
More crows.

That's the last straw!

[screams]

This is getting
scarious.

[screaming]

I can't look.

[groaning]

[crooning]

Thatch? Are you okay?

I'm supposed
to be a scarecrow,

but I couldn't
scare crows.

Not even an itty-bitty
itchy bit.

I should just hang up
my overalls and call it a day.

I'm the worst scarecrow
there ever was.

Thatch, come back.

Thatch, what are you doing?

I'm packing myself
back up.

Return to sender.

Whoa.

I failed to scare
those crows away.

And I gave you
my scareantee.

Gregoria and Demi couldn't scare
the Monstro-Crows either.

They weren't scared
of any of us.

But none of you had to be saved
by a bunch of flowers.

The scariest thing about me

is how rotten I am
at being a scarecrow.

Wait a second.
The flowers.

Remember when you dove
behind the singing snapdragons?

Oh, don't remind me.

Their song made the crows
fly away.

But only to another part
of the garden.

That's because it was only
a little song.

What if you gave them
an even bigger one?

A big, fangtastic
scarecrow song and dance.

I bet that'd make the crows
fly far away.

that could work?

Maybe all scarecrows don't have
to be scary to do their job.

Maybe there's more than one way
to be a good scarecrow.

if you do
what you love.

back to the attic

before she makes
any more noise.

[loud thudding]

Aah! I'm right behind you.

Oh, the spell fixed the goblin
in a big way, all right.

-[objects crashing]
-Oh, I got to reverse it.

We need to make the goblin
small again.

Whoa!

And fast.

Oh, here we go.

"This giant curse
has grown too tall,

so please reverse
and make her small."

-Aah!
-Phew.

It worked.

Oh, but now she's not
dancing at all.

Maybe Gregoria
was right, Vee.
