Birdman!

Birdman!

Gentlemen, our nation's security
depends on an airtight coastal defence.

I will demand additional m*ssile
sites, twice our present number.

General Stone, sir.

What is it, Corporal?

Secret message from
the President, sir.

What's the message?

Two generals are better than one.

What do you mean?

As I said, General.

Two generals are better than one.

Especially when one
thinks my thoughts.

You won't get away with...
Urgh!

You know my thought
commands, General Stone.

Eliminate all m*ssile sites.

Yes, sir.

A signal from Falcon 7, Avenger.

A mystery, Birdman.

Lately, a number of our
top military experts

have changed their minds
about our defense system.

Changes that make us
vulnerable to enemy attack.

- Suspicions or facts, Falcon 7?
- Fact.

At the precise moment General Stone

ordered our West Coast missiles
dismantled and removed,

his closest friend saw
him leaving the Pentagon.

A human duplication?

Precisely.

I suspect FEAR is behind this,
and their next target may be...

Our nation's leader.

I'm on my way, Falcon 7.

Birdman!

The airport?

No one allowed near
the presidential plane.

You may pass on, sir.

No, you cannot.

Birdman!

So that's how it's done.

A product of FEAR's research
and development section?

Yes, Birdman.

Avenger, the guard!

Give it up!

This should keep you busy

while I attend to more
important matters, Birdman.

Avenger, fly!

Stun force!

Find that deadly duplicator, Avenger.

I've got to see something.

Just as I thought.

If these duplications were human,
my X-ray would show me.

This means I can destroy
the duplications

if I can tell them from the originals.

Avenger, he's cornered our quarry.

That blasted eagle is tracking me.

He's duplicated a jet fighter
and its pilot and taking off.

Back to the FEAR lab.

It'll take a jet to catch a jet.

So let's go, Avenger.

Birdman!

FEAR lab, this is Professor Taggart.

FEAR receiving.

Ready for landing.

Acknowledged. Out.

What's that?

The magnetic ray is lowering us down.

You failed your mission?

It was Birdman.

My duplicate defeated by anyone
or anything cannot be tolerated.

It is as if I myself failed.

You have never faced
Birdman, my other self.

No, and neither shall you again.

You never really existed anyway.

Now to gather more information
from my captives.

Now we know where
his prisoners are held.

First, that g*n.

Stun force.

Let's go, Avenger.

Gentlemen, you shall tell me the
ideal spot to kidnap your president.

Forget it, Taggart.

Birdman will stop you.

Birdman?

He's not within 3,000...

How far?

Birdman!

You realize you can't
escape from here?

You think so.

But you're not Professor Taggart.

Your eyes are glowing.

Like all the duplicates.

After you were created, you became
even more evil than the original.

Lies, lies.

I'll destroy you.

First, to free his captives.

Birdman short-circuited our manacles.

We're free.

General Stone, the jet.

Ready for takeoff, Birdman.

You choose to face destruction
rather than failure?

Yes.

The end is only 30 seconds away.

Avenger, get ready.

I'm going to blast a
shaft of solar energy

straight up through
this lab and the ocean.

Now, Avenger. Let's go.

A signal from Falcon 7, Avenger.

With the deadly duplicator
gone, Birdman,

the free world still remains free.

Only as long as evil is held in check.

Signing off, Falcon 7.

Birdman!

A spaceship entering our atmosphere.

It's Condor One, the ship
of the famous Galaxy Trio.

Planet V-9 calling Galaxy Trio.

Identify, please.

Identify.

They don't answer.

Alert defense system.

Attention, V-9 defenses.

Stand by to fire on Condor One.

Identify, Galaxy Trio,
or we'll be forced to fire.

Do not try to defend your planet.

We must take something
from your technical center.

Repeat.

Do not defend yourselves.

All systems alert.

We're being attacked
by the Galaxy Trio.

Retaliate. Retaliate.

Attention, Intergalactic Police.

Planet V-9 has been attacked
and robbed by the Galaxy Trio.

Repeat.

Planet L-14 reporting to
the Intergalactic Police.

We have been attacked and
robbed by the Galaxy Trio.

They have stolen
our Balaxim cultures.

Our disguises and voice
imitations worked.

Now we must speed to our destination
with our precious cargo.

Attention, all Intergalactic Police.

Track down and
capture the Galaxy Trio.

They have attacked and robbed
planets V-9, M-7, and L-14.

Attention, Galaxy Trio.

Give up peacefully and
explain your actions.

This is the Galaxy Trio.

We don't know what
you're talking about.

Someone must be
masquerading as us.

We'll see about that
after you give up.

We are sending robot drones to
take you to the planet Penitentious.

Don't try to resist.

We can't let them take us.

We must clear ourselves.

Quick, Gravity Girl.

Get on that computer

and try to figure out where the
phony Condor One is going.

The dead planet X-4.

What are we waiting for?

Let's head for planet X-4.

Right on the nose.

Look at the duplicate
Condor One over there.

We three, the last survivors
of planet Magnetron,

shall make this the
strongest of all planets

with an army of exploding androids.

Look, the Galaxy Trio
have traced us here.

The exploding androids will
do away with them for us.

Uh-oh. It looks like action.

Stay away from that
machine, you imposters.

You've done enough harm.

How can you keep us from
making more androids?

By lifting you in the air
with my gravity power.

Capture her!

I wouldn't try to lift
them, Gravity Girl.

It's like handling nitroglycerin.

Look, they've got Gravity Girl.

But not for long.

Don't come any closer if
you value Gravity Girl's life.

The slightest movement and she'll
explode in the arms of those androids.

There's nothing we can do.

We can't let them harm Gravity Girl.

Correct, Vapor Man.

You will do exactly nothing

until we have escaped
with the machine

to prepare an army
of exploding androids.

And to make sure that
you do not follow us,

I have programmed these androids
to surround your spaceship.

If you try to move them,
they will explode instantly.

They're getting away!

We'll get them.

But first we must free Gravity Girl.

I think I know a way to
neutralize these androids.

They were created in
this atmosphere of 90.2.

But they haven't had
time to fully set yet.

I get it.

If I can change the atmosphere,
the androids may change too.

Can you do it, Vapor Man?

I have to do it.

Here goes.

You did it, Vapor Man.

You did it.

We all did it, Gravity Girl.

Now let's get after
those three phonies.

That won't be necessary.

Look.

They've trapped themselves
by imitating us.

The robot drones, not
knowing the difference,

are taking the fake Condor
One to Penitentious.

That was a close one
for the Galaxy Trio.

We'd better alert
Intergalactic Control

that they have three would-be
space conquerors on the way.

And more important,
have them clear the Galaxy Trio.

I'm tired of being a space fugitive.

Right. Let's go.

Birdman!

And so, gentlemen,

I'm here to offer you the
use of my latest invention

for the benefit of mankind.

You mean to tell us, Dr. Bettman,

that little black box can
actually make people,

places, and things disappear?

I know it's hard to
believe, gentlemen,

but I shall demonstrate
what this solar box can do.

Will one of you please volunteer?

I will volunteer.

I only hope that what you say

about the safety of the
return mechanism is true.

The return switch guarantees
your safety, Admiral.

The solar box will send you
into the fourth dimension,

where you will remain
suspended until I return you.

No harm will come to you.

Amazing and frightening, I might add.

If this should ever fall
into the wrong hands.

Fantastic.

I was suspended somewhere
in time and space.

Here is the energy source.

It is a fragment from a meteorite,
which I discovered.

There is probably enough
energy trapped in this

to make entire cities disappear
into the fourth dimension.

What is this, some sort of hoax?

I was told to deliver these flowers
to each of you gentlemen.

Perhaps the notes
inside will explain it, sir.

The name is Professor Nightshade.

I am an agent of FEAR,

and now I shall depart
with a little black box.

Needless to say, you and the
world will pay dearly for its return.

It's a signal from Falcon 7, Avenger.

Birdman, Dr. Bettman's invention,
called the solar box,

has been stolen by a
Professor Nightshade.

The solar box is capable of
making entire cities disappear.

We have no idea of
Nightshade's whereabouts.

We've lost communication
with Falcon 7.

The nation's capital has
just completely disappeared.

The country is in a
state of near panic.

Professor Nightshade has done it.

We must go to the university
where Dr. Bettman teaches

and find out if there is any
way of tracing the solar box.

Birdman!

There is the university below.

You must find Professor
Nightshade, Birdman,

and return the nation's
capital with my solar box.

Is there any way I can
trace the solar box?

The energy source in the box
is like this small fragment.

It gives off a special
type of radiation.

The closer this gets to the big one,
the more it will glow.

This may save the world, Doctor.

Thank you.

Birdman!

I have done as you ordered.

This nation's capital has
completely disappeared.

And unless the world
bends to our will,

I shall do the same to all
the capitals of the world.

Look! The glow is
becoming more intense.

It must be in this area.

That greenhouse below.

Swiftly, Avenger!

What? Who dares enter?

Don't make a move, Professor.

Just hand over that box.

I won't have to make a move.

Above you are the same fine spores
that subdued the Pentagon officials.

Above you, Avenger!

I'm weaker than I thought.

I should have renewed my solar
energy before I came here.

With this box, I will return
the nation's capital

and state my terms for total
surrender of this country.

And as strangely as the
nation's capital disappeared,

it has just suddenly reappeared.

And for you, Birdman,

do you have any last words

before I send you into a
timeless fourth dimension

where you shall remain forever?

Ha ha ha ha ha ha!

I know of your strength

and how you get it from
the rays of the sun,

but you've been too long out of them.

Farewell, Birdman!

You should be vanishing
before my eyes.

Instead, you're crackling and
glowing as if all the sun's energy

is being directed into you.

We're free, Avenger!

For some reason,
the rays from the solar box

have given me the
strength of the sun.

And now, Professor,
hand over the solar box.

Never!

Something's gone wrong,

but I shall still use this solar box to
send you into the fourth dimension.

No! No!

I'm disappearing!

I don't know what did it,

but thank goodness
my energy came back.

Come, Avenger!

We'll make sure no one ever
makes use of the evil mutations

that Professor Nightshade has grown.

I think I can explain what
happened, Birdman.

This meteorite must have
come from the sun itself,

and whatever energy it possessed

was absorbed in your body

when Professor Nightshade tried to
send you into the fourth dimension.

Evidently, enough was deflected back

to send him into the fourth dimension.

And there he shall remain until...

Until a similar force
can bring him back.

Fortunately, our nation's capital

was returned before the
energy left this meteorite.

And now we must go.

Other duties await.

Come, Avenger!

Birdman!

Birdman!
