went out last night

and figured out that
we're not at true north,

which means we have a very horrible
hike we have to go on tomorrow.

My feet don't want
to walk anymore.

Honestly, I'm really not
looking forward to this hike.

Our final destination

-and then we figure out how to

With four
days left in the challenge,

the six remaining castaways

have converged on the
north west coast of the island.

After a grueling raft journey

caused Kerra and Na'im to lose
their second partner in two days,

and Bulent led Heather, Patrick
and Andrew out of the dense jungle,

This is the scariest
hike of my life.

Hello?

Hey!

Bulent!

Where the have you been, man?

Only to realize that their
chance of rescue remains far away.

We are definitely in
the wrong place.

We are not getting rescued here.

Now they remain five
miles from the northern tip of the island,

where they must
build a signal fire

and a raft strong enough
to reach the open ocean

in order to be rescued
by boat on day 21.

I really think today is
just really food collect.

Like, food and rest and hydrate.

Eat, rest, drink.

I think we're at the
end of our pork rations.

We may need to be
going from turf back to surf.

Start getting our
protein from the sea.

Going to need every
ounce of energy we've got.

- I would definitely say so.
- Yeah.

This is not my first rodeo so
I've done a lot more challenges

than any of these guys out here.

But the challenge doesn't
care how badass you are.

How much experienced you are.

One wrong step,
it will take you out.

So I'm expecting people to drop,

because this is the hardest
challenge so far in my life.

I went and picked
up those bottles

Fantastic.

As potential fish traps. Yeah, that's
what I brought them over here for.

We could start making
them now, if you want to.

- Yeah, that's what I figured.

We've all been all
over this island on this challenge

and I think everybody's spirits
have been just brutally battered.

But we're together.
We're all here.

We're out looking for
other things to forage

so we can have something
and have a big feast,

so we can actually
fill our stomachs,

because no hike in this
place has been easy so far.

Like, it's so simple,
it's ridiculous.

Reverse the top,
shove it down in there

so when the fish comes in
through the little hole, they get stuck

and then throw a stone in there
so it's weighted down, boom.

Boom. Deploy fish trap.

What should the bait be?

There's hermit crabs everywhere.

I would get a bigger
one and rip it apart, yeah.

- So easy.
- Done.

- Yeah.
- Okay.

Tide's out,

so I'm going to see what
I can scope out to find.

I'm going to bring the
bayonet and these goggles.

Hoping to get some sea urchins

'cause we need to eat
like crazy for the big move.

I definitely feel like I've
been the provider for my team.

And these guys don't
have the capacity

to do some of the
things that I do.

The long spines of a
sea urchin contain a stinging venom.

But the meat of its organs
provide about 10 grams of protein.

Yo! Bulent!

Holy, bro. That's big.

This is the part that you eat.

- The yellow?
- The yellow is around there

- so what we'll do, we'll just yank those out.
- Yeah.

- And then you crush it.
- Okay, cool.

Patrick is like
an Energizer bunny.

He doesn't stop.

This drive, work ethic and
energy is second to none.

I mean, he beats me in every
single one of those aspects

and I'm glad he's here, really.

Let me see what we've got.

That was a good passive trap.

Successful.

We got five fish in total
just by setting those out.

We can make a little soup
or a little chowder with it.

To get something actually
by boiling the whole fish.

- Yeah.

Here, you want to
scrape out the yellow part.

Salty.

What's all that
weird stuff in it?

You don't want to eat that. You
just want to eat the yellow part.

What is it?

- Sea c*ck.

Take the inside out of it.

It is like a roach
roach. Look, you see it.

Distant cousins to the crab,

sea c*ck are a type
of crustacean called isopods,

which can yield about
100 calories each.

Don't
smell it. It's a bad idea.

My eyes are watering.

These sea roaches are
like if you hard boiled an egg

and it sat out for,
like, eight days rotting

and then you add some sand
on it to make, like, crunching in it,

and then made
it a little rubbery.

Quite frankly, I
found them very delicious.

But I put all my needs
and wants to the side.

I look at that as survival food.

How they taste
is irrelevant to me.

They're going to provide the
energy for the big hike tomorrow.

To me, that's the only thing
that matters at this time.

So are you all
ready tomorrow for the trek?

Yeah.

I'm ready to go.
I'm ready to move.

I'm ready to get to
our final destination.

And I'm ready to get
right into some good food.

Until you're on
the rescue vessel,

it's not over.

Take one wrong step,

and you're done.

Now would be a good time to
really think about what we can find

within our stuff
and on the beach

to fabricate some
kind of feet protection.

- Um, that is something I've been thinking about.

- I've got these I'm going to put on for my feet.
- Perfect.

And just, like, basically
rope them on there.

- You're also going to need to have, like, good grip.
- Yeah.

You know, like,
poorly-made footwear

is going to be more dangerous
than walking safely on jagged rocks.

Yeah.

I've done two challenges
prior to this and I fell short twice.

Every day is the furthest
that I've ever made it

and I feel like today is extra
special because we're on the move.

Every step is closer to
crossing the finish line.

This morning, I am gonna use
some leather, suede material

off of a cushion that I
found that's drifted up shore

to make, moccasin shoes.

I'm trying to best
protect my feet

'cause I think we're gonna be
walking on some very sharp rocks.

Some people
wanted to make shoes.

If that shoe gonna make you feel

more protected, by all means.

To me, you're taking another
chance of unstable footwear

that you never wore before.

So, I'm making
walking sticks right now.

I walked through
those rocks before,

so I'm just pray to the
island to be gentle on 'em.

I just like to be proactive.

Something like that.

That's good.

That's good.

Yeah, I feel good
about my new shoes.

I think they, think they'll
hold up through,

for the most part
for a little while.

Then they'll
probably break apart,

but think I'll get through
the rocks with 'em.

We need to put the fire out.

All right, so long, camp
whatever-the-you are.

I definitely came
here to redeem myself

from my previous challenge.

I was able to reconnect with
my partner from Argentina.

And we had a chance to
sort of make history right.

And so now,

making it through this
challenge, it means a ton to me.

This hike's gonna
be treacherous.

I have no idea what's
around the corner.

That's got some
butterflies in my stomach.

Honestly, if it was
anything like the last trek,

I know I'm in for
a hell of a treat.

Next stop, north
end of the island.

Final destination, guys.

- Yeah.
- Let's hit it.

Whatever it takes,
guys, whatever it takes.

Without a map

and five miles from the
northern tip of the island,

the Castaways will begin by
hugging the jagged coastline

of sharp volcanic rock

in search of a better
vantage point to the north.

But the area's steep,
sun-scorched hills

and dense humid jungles

will make any path they
choose a difficult one,

with venomous pit vipers and
aggressive salt water crocodiles.

A potential threat
at every turn.

Watch the green, she's slick.

I see that.

We don't have a
map, we don't have a compass,

but we're following the sun.

And we need to get
to our vantage point.

If you can imagine
very sharp volcanic rock

embedded with dead mollusk,

and just, like, slippery,
muddy surfaces.

It's been just miserable.

And just the chance for
an accident is really high.

But, I'll be damned if I even
entertain a notion of quitting.

We've gotta go up.

My God.

Hiking is my game, and I
have the most energy out of everybody,

so I'm gonna take lead on this.

It's called turning
on the monster.

I do it all the time.

That really helps
me push through,

and I keep on going
no matter what.

I'm behind you, don't worry.

Patrick is a
professional hiker for Christ's sake.

He's like the Lewis
and Clark of today's day.

But us, we're not
gonna be going so fast.

Ooh, these rocks are hot.

Just like bouldering.

- Exactly. This is literally bouldering.

It is absolutely
brutal, just on our bodies.

And I always think like, "Man,
you step on one rock the wrong way,

and you're gonna break a bone,
or it's gonna slice through your foot."

Just, like, every
step is dangerous.

This is insane.

My gosh.

Well, we can't go that way.

Gonna have to go
up. Be very careful.

Be careful, guys, on
your left there's a big drop off.

Well, this is
the end of this story.

Now what do we do?

Well, can't go that way.

Yeah, we definitely can't
keep hugging this coast, guys.

- Yeah.
- We have to cross to the next one.

It ends right here.

I think this is the
tightest place.

We gotta get off these rocks.

We gotta cut in
one when we get a chance.

We have to get to the
north end of this island,

so backtracking isn't an option.

Well, we
can cut into the jungle.

These rocks gonna
cause a problem.

Yeah, this
looks good, like stairs.

All right. You lead.

They're going.

It's like the
stairway from hell.

Ooh, these rocks
are real slick, be careful, Andrew.

Okay.

Whoo.

- Steep and gravely.
- My God.

I'm hoping that coming up here

we can get to our vantage point.

Well, we got to a field.

This is a brutal
hike that we are on right now.

God.

Let's head up that hill.

Ooh, black palm.

Man, I tell you what, as
soon as you step out into the sun,

you feel it on your
shoulders that sun is powerful.

Definitely going uphill.

- Getting tan.
- Yeah, it is.

My God, it's hot.

I need shade.

I'm gonna get to shade.

Beautiful out.

That is gorgeous.

Patrick, I really
appreciate you, but please be quiet.

God, we're all tired.

But the ups and
downs, the conflicts,

and the resolutions,

and the successes and failures,

it would mean a lot for us

to cross the finish
line together, um,

and know that, like, I
didn't let a partner down.

bit of an opening up ahead.

Good news is
guys, that's straight north.

My God.

That's where we gotta go.

I feel like my body is just
about to collapse after this hike.

But in the distance, I can see the
northernmost point of the island.

And it's the sweetest siren's
call just calling me to it.

that's what I want.

Freedom from this island.

Five hours into their journey,

the Castaways have pushed
three and a half miles north,

but only have two
hours of sunlight left

to reach the tip of the island.

Yup.

Looks like we're
coming up on a swampy river.

What the hell.

That's not fun for any of us.

Just be cautious
of any caiman or...

- Saltwater crocs?
- Saltwater crocs. Anything like that.

Going through this water, just
try to be as quick as possible.

At least we have numbers.

- They'll probably be hesitant about that.
- Yeah.

Looks like, I
can see the ocean, guys.

Final stop
on this island from hell!

This is where the trail
ends, y'all. This is the north.

Bad news is, guys...

Please don't give me bad news.

It's really rocky.

It's not sand, not much of it.

- No, this place is terrible.

None of it looks very comfortable.

Do you wanna be
on this rocky side,

or do you wanna be
on that rocky side?

Look at that Styrofoam.

Styrofoam lifeboat.

Whenever I
see beach trash like this,

it really makes me hurt inside.

But this is our only
resources out here.

This stuff is gonna be
great for building a raft.

We got these big drums,

we can seal up the ends.

Hopefully this
doesn't wash away.

I'm not gonna screw with it now.

I'm gonna wait until
everyone can help.

We need to find a place to,

be able to sleep.

- Well, we're thinking...
- Thinking up in these trees.

- Yeah.
- Somewhere up there.

You see where, like, all
that green starts, that...

- Yeah.
- stuff probably can't grow in ocean water.

- Yeah.
- So that's probably a safe bet.

It looks like our only option.

We're exhausted. We
had a long-a*s day.

Long hike out here. Not what
we expected to walk up on.

And tomorrow will
be another big day.

We need to construct a raft.

A raft is the only way
we're gonna get out of here.

Tonight, we
don't really have a shelter.

We just picked a
place under a tree.

We all laid down, and
this is gonna be our

home for the next two nights.

It's doesn't have a
freshwater source.

If so, we gotta hike halfway up
somebody's to go get something.

And we're up here
on top of rocks.

Now, we're just gonna
push through. Our minds are on.

Build a boat, float away.

So that's our goal right now.

So it's probably
couple hours before sunrise.

Slept really well.

Right now I'm working
on fire, keeping the fire going.

Letting everyone get some sleep.

Got a big day tomorrow.

And, everyone needs to get rest.

But I know we're gonna make
it, and that's what's important.

- Na'im.
- Here we go.

Come on, muscles.

We're starting
the day as pack rats.

We're kinda spreading
out across the rocks,

trying to bring together all the
random supplies that we can find.

How many more pieces?

Maybe, like, three
or four pieces.

We are working
hard. You can tell everybody is

putting their ounces
of energy into this raft.

You think I could
use this big rope and unrope it,

unravel it and we have
lots of little cordage?

Definitely.

As a Castaway, the
best tool we have is ingenuity.

If you do not think
outside of the box,

look at a piece of
garbage and say,

"I can turn into
that," you're toast.

You can tell
with all the debris around,

we are very, very close

to these northern
shipping lanes.

- That's a good buoy.
- That's a good one, Patrick.

Na'im and Kerra
have already built a raft,

so they have a little
bit of experience.

And I know that they've learned
from some of their mistakes.

I think that's gonna help us

build something bigger
and even more sturdy

than they did the first time.

One of the key problems that
we have from the last raft was

not floatation, but propulsion.

This is exhausting.

We're paddling, we're
just not making enough headway.

The lashings were fine,

it was the rope quality
that fell apart the last time.

Guys?

- The front is coming loose.
- Okay.

Now, we have a good
supply of resources.

I kinda rubbed my
hands raw today.

But worth it.

Totally worth it.

- Heather?

There should be

Yeah, I've got two short ones.

A slightly different
concept from our previous raft.

First thing, the
base of the raft

will be this broken-apart
flotation device.

The barrels that we have

can sit underneath the frame
to give us plenty of balance.

And then I'm gonna add a
mast and a sail to it this time

to give us a little bit of
propulsion on the outwind.

Na'im, Kerra, do you
want me to keep unlashing?

Do you need hands there?

- Tell me what to do.
- Probably some hands on here would be great.

- You got it.

Na'im seems
pretty confident about this raft.

I don't know that I am,

but hey, I'm a desperate
man to get outta here.

So, I'll try to float on

Biggest fire we can make, yup.

It might take us a
while to gather all the wood...

Once the fire is lit on day 21,

it will signal their boat
to approach the island.

On day 21,

let's use the last
of the gasoline,

- and that'll get it really going.
- Yup.

But the raft must get
them out of the cove into open ocean

in order for them to be rescued.

That surf looks huge.

- Yeah, also look deadly. Yup.
- Look at that.

Watching these waves
swell out in the ocean,

I'm getting a
little bit nervous.

It's gonna be a hard paddle
to get off from this island.

Look at that surf, dude.

It's gonna be treacherous
getting that raft out in this.

Gonna be
challenging, definitely.

One mistake, you're done

for the challenge,
maybe your life.

So every step counts,
every step matters

until it's over. And
it's not over yet.

We just gotta get
two pieces in here,

underneath it. Secure those two,

and then the barrels, they can be
as long out as you need 'em to be.

to the frame and to

of a working, sort of raft.

and we still have to make
oars and things like that.

You know, when
you're in a design phase

and you're just
sort of ideating,

it's great to have a
bunch of feedback.

But once you start building,

this isn't really a time
for a group conversation.

I think that we just
need to stick to the plan

instead of arguing about
it and we can get it done.

I've been trying
to be really patient,

but it's taking us forever.

end of the island.

Bad news is, guys,
it's really rocky.

of the box, you're toast.

bodies and spirits weaken...

I think during this challenge

I have always tried not to
let my emotions rule the day,

but, once you start
screaming and yelling at me

my mind instantly shifts
into self-defense mode.

The chances of me backing
away from you are zero.

Right now, I'm
feeling like a mix of emotions.

I'm angry because
he's treating me this way

and I'm sad because

I never thought this
would ever even happen

but I have to
survive this island.

maybe have, like, a little sit down,

I'm afraid that if I

of like, the most crazy conflicts

to show a better example

get off this island.

And so, it's symbolic
of getting out of here.

We're floating, we're floating.

This has been the
hardest challenge of my life.

But now we're ready for someone to
come along and get us off this island.

- Float! Float!
- Whoa, we're floating.

This is it, the final night

and, here we
are at the bitter end.

This challenge has been...

mentally and emotionally
and physically taxing.

I thought Africa was difficult.

Africa was, like, literally...

the bunny slopes compared
to what this challenge was.

I just wanna say to my family

and to, um, all
the people I know

you can do anything
you set your mind to.

And that failing once
doesn't mean failing forever.

We got one more push tomorrow

and bare handed
k*ller continues.

I'm just looking at the
ocean and she's like...

- "Come to me."
- well, like, "Come to me",

but it's like a siren song
and it feels very dangerous.

Nervous.

The partners, they're
up there building a signal fire.

But, I mean,
honestly, I'm nervous.

What if we mess this up? One
mistake means we're stuck here.

And I'm not gonna be
stuck here. This place is hell.

Let's get the hell out of here.

Hopefully the boys
will be down here very soon.

- Let's get this fire going and get back, bro.
- Yep.

We are going to the most
north part of the island

where all the sea
traffic can be seen.

We wanna put a signal
fire there because it's high.

Did you get the gas?

There we go.

One more effort.
It's gonna be tough.

Put the coal in the middle.

Just like every part of this
challenge, there's nothing easy.

This is not gonna be easy. It's
gonna take hours of paddling.

- There we go.

So, right now, Bulent
and I just got the fire going.

It's really starting
to roar now.

The bigger the smoke the bigger the signal.

- Let's just head back.
- Yeah.

This will go good. Let's go.

With the fire
lit and their boat signaled

the castaways must
hurry out of the gulf

and into open
ocean to be rescued.

But they'll be fighting against
powerful surface currents

and winds over
25 miles per hour,

in waters teeming
with sea snakes

and aggressive bull sharks.

Man.

We've got one more obstacle.
We've gotta get on that raft,

we've gotta paddle out.

It's windy as heck and the
seas are really choppy today.

So, we're not out
of the woods yet.

All right.

- It all comes down to this.
- Let's do it.

The first raft taught me
a pretty valuable lesson

which is, you know, you can
build something, you can test it,

you're gonna be ready to go.

The second you get out in the
water nothing really goes to plan.

Whoo, that is cold.

But also, I
have this great concern

that the wind it
catches that sail

and knocks half of us
or all of us off the boat.

We don't wanna go airborne and we
sure don't wanna be thrown in the water.

Sail's deployed at least. We
may be more visible this way.

I'm getting severely sea sick.

I'm trying so hard to stay in
the game, I'm trying to stay focused

but all I can think about is puking
off the side of this nasty a*s raft

and I'm hoping that
we get rescued soon.

To be stranded on a beach
with absolutely no items in your bag

to start you out
from the get-go,

it was kinda like a
next-level challenge,

it was something incredibly
harder than anything I'd faced before

which makes me even more proud that
this is the one I was able to complete.

Watch out.

I knew I already
was a tough girl...

But now, dude, I've been
through some.

We did
it. Sit, sit right here.

I committed, I
accomplished and I'm here.

And I'm so glad that I did it.

grew in this experience.

I learned to let people in.

We got it, baby.

I also learned that it's
okay to let your wall down.

It's okay to cry in
front of strangers.

And it's okay to
care about people.

I definitely came
here to redeem myself

from my previous challenge and

it feels like a weight's
been lifted from my chest.

It's the... It's the hardest
challenge that I've ever had.

And it's something that,
like, I'll treasure deeply.

What I'm most
proud of about this challenge

is I wanted to make sure
that both my teammates

survived till day
21 and they did.

Now, y'all are like the two
brothers I never thought I wanted.

Yeah.

This is by far the
hardest challenge that I've done.

It was hard because
it's a castaway.

With no tools, no nothing, you go
in there and make things happen.

This challenge changed
me in 21 days. I'm tougher.

Great effort for the team.

Great accomplishment
for everybody.

Every
struggle, all the hard parts

- made this moment so much better, you know.
