the spookiest haunted house

to raise money for our school.

for class president.

Wonderful, batkins.

That speech was spook-tacular.

In case you need a running mate,

"Vice President Demi" has a,
you know, nice ring to it.

[laughs] Thanks, Demi.

But ghosts can't run for student council.

Besides, I already made my poster.

I can't wait to tell everyone tomorrow
that I'm running for class president.

Oh, batkins, everyone will be thrilled.

Seems like a lot of extra work to me.

What made you want to run?

I love my new school,
so I want to do whatever I can

to make it spook-tacular.

[both laugh]

-Hi, Poppy.
-Hi, Vee.

Guess what?
I'm running for class president.

I thought you said you were
running for class president.

Which is funny, because I'm
running for class president.

[both gasp]

-Oh, no!
-Oh, no!

We can't run against each other.

What are we going to do?

This reminds me too well of that time

Dracula and Frankenstein
both had to enter

the Transylvania pie bake-off.

Dracula beat Frank
with his Key slime pie,

and they never spoke again, ever.

Whoa. That's bad. That can't be us.

Maybe we shouldn't run.

Hey. Great posters, girls.

Looks like we have
some excellent candidates

for class president this year.

Yeah, about that.

Vee and I don't want
to run against each other.

We can't end up like
Frankenstein and Dra...

random example.

Right.

You know, listen, I think it's great
that you're both running.

-Really?
-Oh, absolutely.

Supporting your friends is what
student government is all about.

Well, I do think Poppy would
make a great class president.

And I know Vee would be amazing.

But that doesn't mean

-[school bell ringing]
-Now, Vee,

tell your fellow classmates
what you'd like to do for them.

As class president,
I'd love to put together

a spook-tacular haunted house
fundraiser.

Interesting. That sounds fun.

Oh, it will be.

I'll make sure it's full
of shrieks and surprises.

And best of all, we can use the money
to build a new playground.

Or take trips to the museum.

-I've got lots of ideas.
-Wonderful.

Now, let's get a photo

to some of my classmates

and see what they're looking for

As you know,

when we make our big speeches.

I have been working
on my speech for a while.

At the end of my speech,

I'm going to say

And that's when the balloons fall,

and then Edgar brings out the T-shirts.

Oh, my gosh, that sounds so cool.

Everybody's going to love it.

She's right. Kids are going to love it.

They're going to go batty for Poppy.

Not me.

Oh! Oh, no!

Batties!

Vee?

Wasn't she supposed to meet us?

I wonder where she is?

Look. It's Vee's speech.

Wow, this is amazing.

Whoa.

Oh, Vee, glad you're home.

Been working on my look
for election day.

[clears throat]

Traditional.

Festive.

Or vampire chic.

[sighs] It's okay, Demi.

You probably won't need an outfit.

I'm not going to run
for president after all.

What in werewolves
are you talking about?

It's just Poppy's really good.
Everybody loves her ideas.

But you have fang-tastic ideas too.

I thought so.

But maybe they're too... different.

Poppy knows what human kids like.

I guess, well, I don't.

[sighs]

So, I'm dropping out of the race.

But you've been working so hard.

It's for the best.

In just a moment,

it's time for speeches
from our candidates.

Vee, I have your speech.

Thanks, but I won't be needing it.

I'm not running
for president anymore.

You're not?
But your speech is incredible.

The class has to hear your ideas.

I think they're a little too... different.

But that's why they're amazing.

Everyone loves your idea for
new school colors and a mascot.

I think a lion would be pretty cool.

I don't know. It's just a lion.

[Mr. Gore] Okay, our first candidate
for class president

is Poppy Peepleson.

Go ahead. Everybody loves you.

You'll be a spook-tacular president.

Hi, I'm Poppy Peepleson,

and I'm running for class president.

A class president
should love their school

and do everything in their power
to make it better,

and the community around it brighter.

As president, I wanted to spruce
things up around here.

Thing is,

new school colors and a lion mascot

really won't help our school.

But I know someone who can.

Vampirina Hauntley's idea
for a haunted house fundraiser

not only sounds amazing,

but all the money
will help our school.

Healthier lunches? Oh, yeah!

More clubs? Totally.

Vee is my best friend,

and she's also the best
candidate for class president.

So I'd like to say, I'm with Vee.

[all cheer]

Whoo-hoo!

[Bridget] Wow. Go, Vee.

Whoo-hoo!

[boy] You're great.

Whoo-hoo!

Wow. I don't know what to say.

All I know is, I love my school.

I never would have felt so welcome

if it weren't for friends like Poppy.

So, will you serve
as our class president?

Absolutely.

Yay!

[applause]

This haunted house is more
spook-tacular than I imagined.

Boo!

[both screaming]

Vee, that was the best
haunted house I've ever been to.

It really is amazing.

I only screamed a million times.

But, you know,
it's all for our school.

I guess a vampire really
can be president after all.

[both laugh]

[Vampirina] "Where's Wolfie?"

Eight Transylvania,
nine Transylvania,

ten Transylvania.

Ready or not, here I shriek.

Hmm.

Gotcha!

[chittering]

-Boo!
-Whoa!

[both laugh]

You are scary good at hiding.

-Hide-and-shriek is my favorite.
-[wind gusts]

But it was a bit chilly in that tree.

Uh... Vee?

I think it's my turn to hide.

[laughs] Whoops.

Must have grabbed Papa's
invisibility coat by mistake.

You better take it off
before someone sees--

or doesn't see you.

[Edna] Poppy, sweetie! Vampirina!

My mom's coming. Unhide.

[giggles] What's up, Mom?

It's almost time to go, so I need
you girls to pack up your things.

Oh, and don't forget
your coat, Vampirina.

It's so unusual.

[laughs nervously]

-This old thing?
-Got it, Mom.

We'll be ready
in a sec.

Okay, honey.

Whew. That was close.

Time to make this invisibility
coat disappear.

[laughs]

-[dogs barking]
-[gasps]

-Let's look at the animals.
-Yeah!

Aw. I've never seen anything
so adorable.

One time I saw the sweetest,
slimiest slug up for adoption

back in Transylvania.

But this bunny's pretty cute too.

Mom, that little bunny is so cute,
and I love it so much.

Can we take it home? Please, please?

Oh, now Poppykins,
owning a pet is a big responsibility.

You have to feed it, clean up after it

and make sure it doesn't
get into any trouble.

I can do all of that.

Please, Mom?

Let me think it over.

Okay, sweetie?

Okay.

Hello, Hauntleys.

-Wolf!
-Wolfie.

-Who's a good dog?
-[barks]

Ah, look, Wolfie,
it's your favorite human.

-Uh...
-Ahem.

I mean, it's your favorite
human you don't live with.

Yes. That sounds completely normal.

[Oxana] Oh, Poppy's so good with Wolfie.

He's just batty for her.

See, Mom? I'm ready to have a pet.

-Please, can I get a bunny?
-Poppy, honey,

it's one thing
to have animals like you,

but it's different when you have
to take care of them all the time.

-[barking]
-Hmm.

Then maybe Poppy can take care
of Wolfie for the day.

You can see what being
a pet owner's really like.

Fang-tastic idea.

Our little battykins can show Poppy
everything she needs to know.

What do you think, Mom?

I suppose there's no harm in that.

Then you can see for yourself

if you're ready for such a big
responsibility.

Then let's get
this puppy party started.

[barking]

So, we hear you want to have
a pet of your own,

and you need some serious
pet care training.

-How did you--?
-Oh, we were eavesdropping.

-You know, in the walls.
-Demi and Gregoria have been

taking care of animals for centuries.

Maybe they can help.

You've heard of telling a pet to sit.

Well, I invented that.

One afternoon with us,

and you'll be an expert
in all things pet-related.

-Great.
-Quick, your pet is enchanted

and starts to float away.

What do you do?

Uh, get a leash?

Okay, but what if a wizard
casts a spell on your pet,

making him ribbit?

Ribbity-ribbit, flibbity-flibbit.

[frog-like croaking]

What do you do?

Uh, ask the wizard to change him back?

-[imitating buzzer]
-I'm sorry.

That is incorrect.

Ticktock, ticktock.
Come on, your dog is a frog here.

Ask the wizard nicely?

-[air horn blows]
-Now that's more like it.

[all giggle]

Demi, Gregoria,

Poppy isn't going to be taking
care of a magical pet.

I think we should teach her
how to do some human pet owner things.

Oh, I suppose you're right.

But you'll thank me the day your pet
slobbers on a grumpy wizard.

Wolfie loves bubble baths.

-[barks]
-Oh, hey, watch it.

Wolfie, good dog.

[barking]

Uh-oh. Take cover for
the wet dog shake.

-[barks]
-[all] Huh?

Wow.

Poppy, that was terror-rific!

Now to leash the beast
and take him for a walk.

Okay, boy, time for a nice,
relaxing walk around the yard.

-[wind gusts]
-[barks]

Whoa, boy! Slow down!

Whoa! Watch out!

I'm moving fast as stone can.

[loud crash]

Gregoria? Where'd you go? Come on.

Oh, no.

Wolfie ate Gregoria!

[Gregoria] No, he didn't, you silly ghoul.

I'm under here.

Is it just me, or does that patch of grass
sound a lot like Gregoria?

It's just the invisibility coat.

Oh.

Lying down on the job, are we?

Not if you help me up.

Sorry about that, Gregoria!

Sit, boy. Stay.

Whoa.

[sighs]

Taking Wolfie for a walk
is harder than I thought.

Unless...

[snarling]

Now that is one prancy pooch.

-[laughs]
-Aw.

Okay, boy.

-Give me your paw.
-[barks]

Wow, Poppy, I've never seen
Wolfie so well-behaved.

Do you think you're ready
to have a pet of your own?

-Because I do.
-Oh, yeah.

You've really got a way
with monster's best friend.

-You think so?
-You'll be a great pet owner.

-[giggles]
-It's unanimous.

[Edgar] Poppy?

Poppy, we need to talk.

[panting]

Hm.

Are you playing with a statue?

Uh... yes.

It's a Transylvanian thing.

[laughs nervously]

Cool, I think.

Anyway, Mom said we might
get a pet rabbit.

I had to come over right away.

I know. Isn't it exciting?

No.

In fact, it's the least exciting
pet I can think of.

Come on, let's get a bearded
dragon or a chupacabra.

Chupacabras aren't even real.

Or a griffin!

I know. Let's get a giant dog,

like, way bigger than Wolfie,

with big fangs and the loudest,
most fearsome growl.

But I'm already invisible.

-Oh.
-[Poppy laughs]

You're so silly, Edgar.

There are no giant animals
like that around here.

Oh, is that Mom calling?

I'm not going until you at least
consider a wolfhound.

I promise, wolves are definitely
on my mind.

Okay, see you. Bye.

[sighs]

I can't believe I just
let Wolfie drink milk

and turn into a werewolf.

I guess I can just kiss
my pet bunny goodbye.

You'll still be a good pet owner, Poppy.

This could have happened to anyone.

Yeah, and all we need
is a little bit of this.

You have moon dust?

I never leave home without it.

Except when I forget it.

Anyway, all we have to do
is give Wolfie here

a little of this,
and he'll be-- whoa!

Huh? Were-Wolfie is gone!

Oh, no.

And he's invisible.

And it's all my fault.

Poppy, the most important part
about being a pet owner

is to love your pet with all your heart.

You just made a little mistake.

Try huge.

We're going to find Wolfie
and make things right.

Look, milky paw prints.

Wolfie must have gone that way.

He might have escaped ♪

♪ Is just Wolfie's shape ♪

♪ He's on the loose now
I think he broke free ♪

Uh-oh.

I think I know where Wolfie went.

We can't let your mom and Edgar
find a giant werewolf in their house.

[humming]

[snarling]

Oh! What on earth was that?

[wind gusting]

-[snarling]
-Huh?

Must be the wind.

[panting and snarling]

Hmm.

Hey, where'd my snack go?

-[growling]
-Aah!

Mom!

[panting]

There's our werewolf, all right.

Invisible or not,
if Wolfie stays inside

your mom and Edgar are
definitely going to notice him.

If Mom finds out Wolfie's a werewolf
and that I let him wolf out,

she'll really never,
ever, ever let me get a pet.

Well, we can't go in there.

Your mom might see a ghost,
and gargoyle too.

I got us into this mess,
and I'll get us out of it.

-I'm going in.
-You got this, Poppy.

I'm right behind you.

-[chomps]
-You'd better hurry,

before Wolfie actually eats you
out of house and home.

[Edna humming]

Wolfie. Come here, boy.

Wolfie.

-[snarling and panting]
-Whoa.

Hmm.

Good boy. Good boy.

-[giggles]
-[Edna humming louder]

Now. The moon dust.

That was ghoul-tastic.

[barks]

[all laughing]

Poppy, if you can handle a werewolf,

you can handle any pet in the world.

Maybe you should get a dragon.
Edgar would love it.

Uh, speaking of Edgar... hide!

Vee, are you taking your statue
for a walk?

Um... yes?

[sighs] Some things
I'll never understand.

Oh, it looks like you're doing
a wonderful job

taking care of Wolfie,
sweetheart.

Well, it was a lot harder
than I thought.

Owning a pet is a huge responsibility.

But I think...
I think I'm ready for it.

I think so too, Poppykins.

Does this mean
we're getting a wolfhound?

We're getting a bunny.

Yeah, I've had enough wolves
for one day.

I mean, I've had enough thinking
about wolves for one day.

[pets mewling and chirping]

Oh, no. I don't see my bunny.

There she is!

Aw.

I think you two were meant to be.

Thank you, Mom.
I promise I'll take good care of her.

I know you will, sweetie.

She's not a were-rabbit, is she?

[laughs]

Definitely not.

She's the perfect pet just for you.

Aw. Look at her.
