[Vampirina] "Batty Fever."

And one vam-pumpkin,

one spider-shaped sandwich,
hold the mummy mayo,

and a thermos of ice scream.

[screaming]

Oh, good, it's still fresh.

Demi, Gregoria.

-Good morning.
-Morning.

Will you go up and make sure
Vee is getting ready for school?

I don't want her to be late.

You got it.

We'll have her ready and out the door

before you can say boo.

Wait, I just said boo.

Well, we'll have her ready
before you say boo,

if you say it really slowly.

Vee, Vee, are you up?

Oh. Vee, you've gotta get up
and get dressed for school.

Rise and moonshine, screamy head.

[groans] I don't feel well.

Aw, you just need to
pick out a fun outfit.

Come on, we'll help you.

Here we go, the usual.

No, no, Vee needs a brand-new look.

Something that says ready
for the big test,

or dodgeball captain.

What do you think?

I think this outfit says
put me back in the dresser,

and then, throw the dresser in the trash.

Here, Vee.

Oh, but that's no fun.
That's what Vee always wears.

Why are you taking so long
up here, batkins?

Oh, you're looking really
under the weather,

and not in a good way.

Yeah, I don't feel so well.

Hm, your forehead isn't cold,

which means it's
way too hot for a vampire.

Your cheeks are all rosy, instead of pale,

even the bags under your eyes are gone.

I think it's batty fever.

-[both] Batty fever?
-What's that?

It's a sickness only vampires get.

First you feel sluggish.

Then your head feels funny.

-Then...
-[sneezing]

You turn into a bat,

and not like a normal bout of the batties.

With batty fever, you can't change back
until it's cured.

Can't change back?

But I'm already late for school.

I'll call to tell them you're sick.

I can also make a potion
to cure the fever.

But you need to go right to bed.

Batty fever is really contagious.

What's contagious?
Vee, what are you still doing home?

Shouldn't you be in...

-Uh-oh.
-Looks like we've got another one.

[sneezes] Oh, no, it's batty fever,
isn't it?

I haven't been feeling well.

I was hoping it was just allergies,

or a mild witch's curse.

Okay, this is serious now.

Demi, Gregoria, you put these two to bed.

I'm going to hurry and brew that potion.

Ah... oh, not yet.

Oh, for bat's sake.

Now the three of you get comfy.

Gregoria and I are gonna
take good care of you.

Yeah, we gargoyles have cure-alls
that go back hundreds of years.

All you have to do is sit on a flat rock

for eight hours, staying perfectly still
like a statue.

No, no, no, that'll just give them
batty back problems.

What you three need is a ghost remedy.

I have a good luck charm here.

[Demi] The trick is to hold onto this
and think happy thoughts.

I don't see what
a piece of salad is gonna do.

-[grunts]
-Uh, Demi, Gregoria,

thanks for your help,
but the cure for batty fever

is a potion, remember?

Are you sure you don't wanna give
my four-leaf clover a try?

I've heard great things from Patty,
my leprechaun friend.

Oh, sorry, but the only fix

is my family's cure-all potion recipe.

Oh, that old recipe?

I've seen you make that a hundred times.

-I can handle that.
-Me, too.

Are you sure?

The potion has to be made
just the right way,

with just the right ingredients.

Then you've called on the right monster.

Gargoyles are always careful and exact

when it comes to following recipes.

And you have to make it quickly, too,
before it overcooks.

[giggles] Speed is a spirit specialty.

Ha ha!

Come on, don't any of you worry.

All right, I'll slice, you dice.

Drop that carrot, Demi.

The ingredients have to be
measured just right, remember?

I'm the one with the careful hands.

I can handle this recipe on my own.

Hmmm.

Now that the cauldron is hot and bubbling,

I need to add four monstro-pods.

One.

Two.

Three.

This is taking forever!
Can't you put them in a little faster?

Right is more important than fast.

Hm, now what's next?

Ten screamberries.

One...

-[Gregoria] Twenty-eight.
-[snoring, muttering]

Twenty-nine.

[Demi] Very boring.

That's 30 stirs going clockwise.

All done.

All done? Am I hearing things?

Is it really... Oh!

[Demi] Oh, are you sure that's right?

It kinda smells like troll feet.

Of course it is.

This is a potion,
not a screamberry milkshake.

It doesn't have to taste good.

Now let's take it upstairs.

Here you go. One rock-solid,

carefully brewed batch of potion.

Open wide!

-[gasps]
-That doesn't seem right.

What? What is it?

[shrieks] No! Not right at all!

But I measured
all the ingredients correctly.

Yeah, but it took forever.

The potion must've overcooked.

Did you see that scary smoke
coming out of it?

Dark smoke is definitely
the sign of an overcooked potion.

Don't worry, we'll try again.

And faster this time, too.

Not on me, you won't. I'm out of here.

Very...

slowly.

Just give us another chance.

We'll figure it out.

Okay, let's try it again,

only this time, I'll try
and work twice as--

Fast, as in my middle name.

Gregoria, I think it's time
to put the ghost in the game.

Uh-huh.

Okay, I've seen Oxana
cook this thing pretty quickly,

so let's see if I can beat her record.

Four monstro-pods comin' up!

That didn't look like four to me.

Bunch of berries.

Bunch of what now?

And the rest. And now for the stirring.

[muttering] Thirty stirs!

Done.

That couldn't have possibly been 30 stirs.

Don't be a backseat chef, Gregoria.

-It's the speed that matters.
-[timer dings]

[Demi] See. With tons of time to spare.

And doesn't this look appetizing?

Ugh.

Let's just say I'm glad I'm not
the one with batty fever.

[Demi] Hurry up. We have patients to cure.

Okay, now this'll do the trick.

It was brewed in record time.

Who wants to try first?

-Oh!
-I'll go.

Did it work?

I am 99% sure that it did. [gasps]

Whoa!

[bleats]

Goat?

Oh, it's always the one percent
that gets you.

Actually, it's always
the goat that'll eat anything

that gets you.

Well, that was a disaster.

We're terrible friends.

We should just give up.

For once, Demi, we agree on something.

-[Vampirina] You can't give up.
-[gasps]

I don't know, Vee.

Gregoria got the recipe right,
but overcooked it,

and I made it quickly,
but that didn't work either.

You should've just gotten a mummy
and a troll instead.

Maybe then you'd have monsters
who could take care of you.

No, don't say that.

You two are the best friends in the world,

even when you mess everything up.
[chuckles]

I know how much you love me.

We really do.

You know, mess things up and love you.

Demi, you're so exciting and fun.

While Gregoria, you're
super strong, and reliable.

Your rock... so to speak.

You're different,
but that's what makes you good together.

I mean, you're so good together,

we thought you were making
the potions as a team,

-not by yourselves.
-A team?

Yeah, like me and Poppy.

My vampireness, paired with her humanness,

is unstoppable.

What makes us different is also
what makes us a good team.

If you work together,
I know you can do it.

Yeah, I bet we can.

Let's do it, my goofy ghoul.

Okay, ingredients are perfectly measured

and ready to go in the cauldron.

And I'm all loose and limber.

Ready to speed through this thing.

-Ready?
-We are. Thank you, Vee.

[dings]

And... go!

Easy.

Easy.

Ingredients are in. Now for the stirring.

Tell me when, Gregoria.

Keep stirring.

And 30. Stop.

-[timer dings]
-You guys did it.

Careful and fast.

It's beautiful.

Smells good, too.

That's a first. Now let's get it upstairs.

Everyone, cross your fangs.

Let's hope this batch is a winner.

Huh, I don't remember this book,

Spinning cups. I like that.

Go ahead, Bridget. Read it.

Out loud?

You are one nervous Nellie.

First, shake your wiggles out.

Okay. Here I go.

"Magical cups spin round and round.

Float up high, then crash to the ground."

-[glass shattering]
-What was that?

I don't know. Probably
just my mom making dinner.

She does cook very loudly.
Read the poem again.

Mighty bat wing, what happened?

I have no idea.

These cups just started spinning around,

and then they crashed to the ground.

How odd.

-Did you do that?

-No.
-No.

Something strange is going on here.

Usually, I like strange,

but this is very strange.

You're doing great, Bridget.

Really? I'm still kind of nervous,

Don't worry about that.

How about trying a different poem?

Ooh, this one looks good.

It's about a thunderstorm.

I'm scared of thunderstorms.

But it's just a poem about a thunderstorm.

Aw, there's nothing to be afraid of.
