We make our first impressions
of each other
within a 10th of a second.
These quick judgments can
change the direction of your
life.
Will you get the job?
Will you make a friend?
Will you find love?
But is it the real you
people are seeing?
The outspoken guy
in the loud shirt
may actually be shy.
The quiet girl in pink
might be a natural-born leader.
And the high-powered
businessperson in a suit
might have
the soul of an artist.
The problem is no-one
can see inside of us.
But what if someone could?
I'm Kathryn Eisman,
and ever since
I was a young girl,
I've had this ability to
read a person's true character
just by looking at
the clothes they're wearing.
I'm going to invite each of you
into the centre of the circle
with me,
where I'm going to do a
reading,
revealing who I see
when I look at your clothes.
I can see your secrets,
your troubles
and your greatness.
I see
all these beautiful trimmings,
and I see that part of yourself
fighting to come out, actually.
How would you feel
if I took the cap off?
- Very naked and vulnerable.
- Undressed?
Yeah, undressed, yeah.
She saw straight through my
mask into my soul.
This group of people,
whom I've never met,
are taking part
in a unique social experience.
This is your mother's
wedding dress?
Yeah.
By reading their clothes,
I'll unlock
what's holding them back.
When I look at it,
it screams 'little girl'.
OK? Little girl lost.
You just can't be bothered.
And I want to give you
the motivation to be bothered.
But breaking old habits
can be hard.
I feel stupid because
I don't know how to do it.
Clothing carries
so many memories for us,
sometimes good
and sometimes really painful.
A transformation awaits them,
from the outside in...
It's just clothing,
but at the same time,
it's more than that.
Like, it's your soul,
essentially.
Ta-dah!
..to inspire
not just a new look,
but a new way
of looking at themselves.
I'm just so, so happy.
I feel alive.
I feel pretty.
And to find out
if changing our clothes
can change our lives.
- (CHEERING)
- Look at you!
Oh, my goodness.
Hi. I'm Kathryn.
What's your name?
I'm Lauren.
Lauren, would you like to
have a reading?
- I'd love to.
- Please join me.
- Lauren.
- Yes.
- So lovely to meet you.
- You too.
When I look at your outfit,
I see someone
who isn't expressing
that much personality here,
isn't having as much fun
as they would like to have
in their clothing choices.
You've got this just
off-white shirt -
you know, very neutral,
very safe.
And then you've got
the denim - again, very safe.
What I'm seeing is
you, in your everyday life,
have to kind of
play it straight, you know,
have to be the secure one,
have to be the dependable one.
But the part that I see
expressed in your clothing,
through the frill and
the little bit of the fraying,
is the fun you.
The fun person
who really wants to
kind of step out of the shadows
of the role that you've
been playing in your life.
You've got the key.
And I'm interested...
You know, the fact that it
is literally a key -
can you explain to me
your necklace?
Oh, sorry.
Um...
I bought this...
..10 years ago, after...
after I got divorced.
Um...
And it was kind of...
Uh, sorry.
It was kind of,
at the time,
a symbol to...
..open new doors
and try something new.
And I work in real estate,
so it's a symbol of that
as well.
And I want to ask you
something. That was 10 years
ago.
Have you been opening new
doors?
And I don't just mean
in real estate.
(BOTH LAUGH)
Have you been opening new
doors,
in terms of your own
personal life since then?
No. No.
I guess you picked up on it
that I am the dependable one.
I often put
everyone else's needs first.
But then, at the end of the
day,
there's also no-one
doing that for me.
So there is going to be someone
who does that for you
and you know
who it's going to be?
It's going to be you.
I would like,
from this experience,
for you to feel
truly in love with yourself.
And then the doors will open.
You won't even need the key.
They'll just swing open.
It's been there for 10 years,
so maybe it's time to change
it.
(BOTH LAUGH)
Alright, let's do this.
You ready?
Let's open the doors
without a key.
(APPLAUSE)
Kathryn saw parts of me that
I've hidden for a long time.
Thank you so much. Thank you.
I want a transformation just to
feel better about what I wear.
I'm definitely
ready to move forward
and make some changes
to help me see that I'm worthy
to put myself first.
I think when I was younger,
I definitely dressed
very differently.
I changed my style
because I got older.
It became more about just
what was functional,
what fit,
and less about how it looked.
I work in real estate,
and I've done that for 22
years.
I don't put much thought into
what I wear every day.
Just pants...
Pick one of my five shirts.
Whack that on.
And it's just to
show up to work in something.
I've never acknowledged that
I that I don't actually
love myself.
I definitely would love to have
a partner to share life with.
But I'm at the point where,
at the moment...
(TEARFULLY)
..I don't think I deserve one.
When I visit someone
in their home
and I see their entire
wardrobe,
then I understand who they are,
as a whole.
And I can also help them
become the next version,
the next iteration
of who they want to be
for the next chapter
of their life.
Sometimes the best place
to begin your transformation
isn't at a shop.
It's in your very own wardrobe.
Well, you kept this
a bit of a secret, didn't you?
When I met you at the reading,
and even the way you dress,
is pretty low-key.
And you've built yourself
this shrine to fashion.
It's like Carrie Bradshaw's
closet in here.
I don't know if it's that, but,
yeah, there's a few nice
pieces.
Bags in my thing.
The reason I love
the handbag so much
is because it doesn't matter
what size I am,
they always will fit.
So when you look at
this section here,
what word comes to mind?
- Basic.
- (LAUGHS) Basic?
And you're not basic,
at your core.
You're fabulous, aren't you?
So did you always
dress this way?
Yeah.
As I've gotten older
and my body has changed,
it's certainly
just progressed into that.
Used to be a lot more
glamorous.
When you met your ex-husband,
how did you dress then?
Well, I was in my early 20s,
so very differently.
I dressed up a bit more.
Is there a part of you that
maybe feels like
even though you would
like to find love,
you kind of are dressing
so you don't attract it?
I've never thought of it
like that,
but possibly it's just because
maybe I don't feel worthy
of it.
Let's look at
some of the clothes.
Is this what you wore when I
met you, or very similar?
Very similar.
It's the same top,
just a different colour.
I'm seeing a theme here.
This is all just work,
everyday work.
They've been on high rotation
for, like, years -
years and years.
OK.
Tell me what is in this kind of
secret chest, w*r chest here?
This is the cave of the unworn.
So some of it gets worn.
Some of it,
I've bought for some occasions.
And, you know, once you wear
it, sometimes they shrink.
So, then, again, it doesn't
fit.
Some things I've bought
because they're labels
and they're on special
and I'm like, OK, eventually,
one day, that'll fit.
And then, yeah, that's
where the clothes go to die.
OK, this is bringing you down.
What I want to do is I want to
put some of this pizzazz,
some of this joy,
the same spirit of them,
of being fabulous,
of being glamorous
and being so good that...
Am I allowed to put this
on the floor?
No, we don't put bags
on the floor.
(BOTH LAUGH)
Exactly!
I've got a reset for you, OK?
And I'm going to help you
get there.
Look number one -
you are a jewel
in everyone's life,
helping everyone
whenever they need it.
So I want you to
dress like a jewel
in this beautiful jewel,
sapphire-tone silk shirt.
And the fabric is luxurious.
- OK.
- Now for the skirt.
Black - obviously
very flattering, comfortable,
but at the same time,
has a little bit of
va-va-voom down here,
and that will pair
perfectly with that.
And then the key around your
neck, let's take it off, OK?
Maybe the secret to opening the
doors is taking off the key.
OK, we're doing it now?
We're going to do it right now.
And I saw this beautiful pace.
AND I want you to wear it
with...
OK.
We're not saving this
for any more special occasions
because YOU are
the special occasion.
WOMAN: I love colour.
I absolutely adore it
because...
it makes me feel happy.
I want to colour myself
and feel vibrant.
And that's the crazy thing -
I wear so much black.
When I walk down the street,
people see me,
they look at me
and they're like, "Oh, gosh."
Like, I get the worst stares
because nobody sees ME.
They see what I look like,
what I dress.
It's the worst feeling.
It's almost like you've
got two heads, you know?
People look at you
like you're a freak.
Hi. I'm Kathryn.
What's your name?
My name's Izzy.
Izzy, would you like to
have a reading?
- Sure.
- Come and join me.
I've been so looking forward
to doing your reading,
and I'm looking at
all the amazing external...
..aspects of who you are
as a person.
And some of them,
you can't take off
because you've
made them permanent.
And that's really interesting
to me as well.
- Thank you.
- Yeah.
There is a bit of colour
on your hands.
Yes.
And then look at your neck.
That's... What is that?
- Is that a...
- It's a bear.
It's a bear, with the teeth and
fangs, and...
And then... Wow.
And what does it say
across here?
Love and light.
Love and light?
So you're wearing all black,
which absorbs the light...
Yeah.
..and is seen as kind of
scary and dark,
- and the opposite of light.
- Yeah.
And then you have tattooed
permanently,
on your face,
in the most prominent way,
'love and light'.
100%.
And how interesting that is,
the combination of those two
things.
And I think that speaks
very much
to who you are as a person.
I think in your core,
you are the love and the light.
And I think you've
created this exterior
that sends the message
of the opposite,
of kind of darkness
and scariness, in a way.
When I look at your boots,
whenever people wear
a really chunky boot,
like a thick boot,
Often people think,
"Oh, they're scary."
But it's actually
someone who has
a very delicate,
sensitive soul,
and then they create
a thicker sole, literally.
But when you
talk about the shoes,
and that becomes a protection
mechanism for them.
- You're on it.
- Yeah.
Like... high school was nasty.
It wasn't one person.
It was a whole school.
Everybody hated me,
hated me
because of how I looked.
So I did what I did to myself
because getting a tattoo made
me feel something, something
more.
Even though I would put myself
through more pain,
it was like stress relief.
So you turned your body
into armour.
Yeah.
I guess what I want to know is
what would you like to
change in your life?
I would like to change what
people first think about me.
That would be really nice.
Because I wish people
would see me for me,
not see this outside of me.
And then you won't be so
scared.
And then you won't have to
look so scary
to protect yourself.
100%.
- Yeah?
- Yeah.
(APPLAUSE)
So, Kathryn, dove right into...
to me, to the real me.
She was absolutely amazing.
And she saw straight through
my mask, into my soul.
When I first saw Izzy,
I was like, "Ooh!" you know?
Like, that's a lot of tattoos.
And, you know, sometimes
you have the misconception
that people like that,
they're a bit rough,
but Izzy's a sweetheart.
IZZY: Growing up,
I was your typical
blonde hair, blue eyes,
TANNED surfie girl.
But I never felt pretty.
In my whole life,
I've never had that moment
where I've gone,
"You look good."
I just looked in the mirror
and I was like,
hide it all.
Hide everything.
So that was
the big, black, thick makeup.
I had this big emo fringe,
and I'd wear long-sleeve shirt
and a jumper,
two belts,
two pairs of underwear,
with knee high socks,
and then, like, boot Connies
to hide everything.
So you could not see
any part of me.
And I just hid it all.
And then I met Nick.
Nick and I have been together
going on six years.
But he's not just my fiance,
my partner,
he's my best friend, too.
My father passed,
and Nick was there for me
the whole time.
And Nick got to speak to my
dad,
and he said to him,
"I'm going to marry
your daughter.
"So, just so you know,
if you're not here,
"I'm going to be here
to take care of her,
"and I promise you that."
- I love you.
- I love you too.
And here we are still,
and he's kept his promise.
We opened our own tattoo
studio.
Just going to do
a little bit first,
just let you know
how it feels on the skin.
It's also going to let me know
how your skin feels.
- OK?
- Yep.
My tattoos are my story.
My tattoos are my journey,
my life, my skin.
They're not something I regret.
I'm not regretting them at all.
What I want people to see is
me.
When I step out into the world,
how I want to feel is accepted.
I don't want to hide anymore.
What I'm not expecting to see
a lot of in Izzy's wardrobe
is colour.
Her tattoo says love and light,
but I doubt there's much light
in that wardrobe.
I bet there's a lot of
darkness.
And I would like to turn
the lights on in that closet.
I always feel like
when someone invites you inside
their wardrobe, to see it,
they invite you to see them.
Am I allowed to have a look?
- Go for it. Can't wait.
- Alright. Let's do it.
Izzy, Izzy, Izzy!
There is a lot... of black.
- Yeah.
- (LAUGHS)
There is so much.
Got any blacker?
Oh, my goodness.
It's really interesting,
because black
is not actually a colour,
but it is all the colours.
It absorbs the entire spectrum
of the rainbow.
Yeah.
And in that way,
it makes sense for you,
because you have
the whole colour of the rainbow
inside of you.
And I don't just mean because
your tattoos are colourful,
but just as a person,
there's so much light in you.
But black just absorbs it.
It sucks it out of you,
and the world doesn't
get to see that spectrum.
So I want to get rid of
some of the black for you,
as a main starting point.
What's your favourite colour?
- It's hot pink.
- Really?
- Did I lead the witness?
- Yeah, right?
And I just looked
in your wardrobe
and there is zero hot pink,
at all.
Why do you not wear
your favourite colour?
Because I personally don't know
how to wear it on me.
So you really love
the look of it,
but you just don't
have the confidence,
actually, the body confidence,
to wear the colour
that you love so much.
100%.
So what I want to do is
I want to get the tattoos out.
You've put so much time,
blood, sweat and tears -
- I'm assuming literally...
- Legit.
..into these.
And yet you zip it up,
you cover them all up.
So what I want to do is I want
to show you how can use fashion
to strategically show off
the parts that you love.
I'm going to set a little
fashion reset for you.
OK.
You do not have much colour
in your wardrobe,
but I did find...
It was not easy.
I found these three
yellow items, OK?
So every single day
for seven days,
I want you to inject some
colour into your wardrobe, OK?
Even if you have to work with
a black top,
because that's all you have,
I want you to get used to
shining bright
and letting people see
the spectrum of colour
inside of you.
Alright, that's the first part.
- Yeah.
- The tights, OK?
Yep.
(SINGS) These tights have to
go.
- No!
- Yes, they do.
We're going to...
Half of your leg
has already got tattoo on it,
but I want you to feel
comfortable in your own skin.
OK.
And that means you have to
see your own skin
for a little while, OK?
We're going to edge you forward
into the whole spectrum
of colour.
I would absolutely love that.
I guarantee that
there is gold gathering dust
in your wardrobe right now.
Sometimes taking those pieces
out of your closet
and putting them
on your own body
is really, really intimidating.
But I think it's the best place
to start the transformation.
Izzy represents what I would
define as defensive dressing.
It's using clothing
to keep people at a distance.
It's the black.
It's the thick-soled shoes.
It's saying 'stay away'.
But the irony is that she wants
people to approach her.
She is love and light,
but she is so afraid
of being rejected
and being hurt,
that she is using fashion
to reject people first
and keep them away.
I want to change that.
Just been thinking about, like,
Kathryn's reading
and just how accurate
she really was.
It's crazy how deep into
the core she actually gets.
High school wasn't nice,
and everybody turned on me.
Everybody hated me.
I had razorblades pegged at me.
I had people telling me
not to be here anymore,
to do the world a favour.
And it was hard.
Every time I'm down the street
and people glare,
and they're nasty
and they judge me.
It takes me straight back
to being in high school.
What I want for Izzy is for her
to wear a lot more colour.
I'd like to get rid of
all these tights
that cover up her skin.
I want her to feel comfortable
in her skin.
So during this past week,
I found that there
was a couple of moments
that were a bit hard on me.
I went out shopping
in a red dress.
I was grabbing bits and pieces,
and looking at it,
and I was just at the stage
where I just felt like
I couldn't do it.
It's going to be really hard
for Izzy to break away from
black.
It's going to be hard for her
to stop covering up.
I think this is going to
test her to her core.
I was slightly disappointed
in myself
that I couldn't
make those next steps.
I am definitely feeling
out of my comfort zone.
I don't want to
let Kathryn down,
but I also don't want to
let myself down.
I'm very happy to see you
wearing a little bit of colour.
Yes. Yes, I tried. I tried.
You've still got
a lot of black on.
Not that I can judge.
Are you just not able
to say goodbye to that?
No, I've tried.
I definitely also tried
not wearing the tights.
I couldn't do it. That was
my one... I tried.
And unfortunately,
that's just the one thing
that I found the hardest,
because that's my
security blanket.
Now, I know that you have
all this beautiful body art,
and so much of it is colourful.
Yeah.
Have you want any pieces that
show a little bit more skin?
Yeah, I've just been showing
that a bit more,
and yeah, definitely
the shorter sleeves.
Just getting it out there.
Izzy, I've got
something to show you.
- OK.
- Come with me.
Sure.
See all of these clothes?
These colourful clothes?
- This is your rack.
- OK.
Get in there.
Have a little play.
The dressing room is definitely
one of the most
exciting moments,
where people get to see
all these clothes
specifically purchased for
them.
Oh, my gosh!
(LAUGHS) OK.
It's not only
their new wardrobe,
but it's the beginning
of their new life.
It's exhilarating.
But it's also intimidating.
Izzy, I'm seeing you here.
And I see that there's a lot
of feelings that you're having,
and I want to hear
how you're feeling.
Um... Just very uncomfortable.
I'm very overwhelmed. Um...
I just...
..don't feel comfortable
in... that.
You don't have to
wear these pieces.
You don't have to wear
any of them.
BUT are you willing to...
..step outside of
where you're at
and try them.
I'm more than happy to
give it a go, to give it a try,
but I just...
it's just very overwhelming.
I'm going to give you
a couple of options, OK?
I want you to help pick
what you're going to try on.
So which top
are you going to pick?
- So, this one?
- Yes.
Sure.
And in terms of what bottoms
to wear with it,
you could try your
favourite colour pink pant.
Yeah.
And then there's the black...
- OK.
- ..leather pants.
I'm going to go to the pink,
'cause it's my favourite
colour.
I don't want to say that I
hoped you choose it, but I did.
OK, great. Alright.
Let's give it a go.
Izzy, are you ready
to see yourself
looking pretty in pink?
For sure.
Come on out, sweetheart.
What do you think?
Does it look good?
It doesn't just look good.
It looks adorable
and gorgeous and beautiful.
And I want you to
see it for yourself.
Thank you.
Oh, wow.
That is so different.
I like the pink.
Just brings all my colours out.
Which is really bizarre,
because I thought
the black would contrast
with the colours,
but it was actually
doing the opposite.
I'm so proud of you.
But there's somewhere else
I want to take you
on this journey
and includes that dressing room
over there.
Oh, gosh.
There's a final look
waiting for you.
OK.
Izzy, it's time to get dressed.
I am definitely different now
than I was when I started.
I feel more vulnerable,
but in a good way.
A lot was brought up that I
didn't know I was hiding,
and I hope that
I can move forward
and have an awesome experience
with this new person
that Kathryn has brought out
inside of me.
Izzy, it's transformation time.
- Hey!
- (LAUGHS)
Oh, wow.
Oh, my God. (LAUGHS)
That is such a change.
Far out.
I never, ever would have
expected myself
to be in ,this ever.
Like, ever-ever.
Oh, my God.
Wow.
This is definitely... amazing.
Like, this is insane. I...
It makes everything, like,
stand out more.
Where, I was, like,
in the black,
it's almost like my tattoos
got lost.
Whereas now it's like
they're right there.
I feel confident in this.
It's brought out
a whole new side to me
and I'm just so in love with
it.
It's beautiful.
When I met you,
you wore only black.
And what's the polar opposite?
BOTH: White.
And rather than
absorb the light, your light,
it reflects it.
- 100%.
- So the world can see that.
So that you can see that.
Now, I love the crop top,
because your favourite tattoo
is the geisha.
It is. It is.
And look at her beautiful eyes
peeking through.
Just like your eyes
are finally shining.
When I look in your face,
I can see them peeking through
and your soul peeking through.
Same with this silhouette.
I'm still in shock.
And I want you to be able to
showcase your tattoos
with pride.
'Cause that is not only
the skin that you bare,
but also it's the job
that you do.
Yeah, this, definitely,
is, like,
some boss-tattooist chickie
outfit for sure.
You better get some assistants
because your business is
going to go through the roof.
I mean, you're a walking
advertisement for what you do.
I'm going to leave you
to take it all in.
And there's someone who wants
to bask in your glory too,
so...
Oh. My. God.
Where is my fiancee?
(LAUGHS)
- What do you think?
- You look incredible.
Oh, wow.
Wow!
I'm just lost for words.
You're... absolutely stunning.
Absolutely stunning.
You're beautiful. (LAUGHS)
You are gorgeous.
KATHRYN: 10 years ago,
Lauren went through a divorce.
And I think, like so many
women, they subconsciously
take themselves out
of the dating game.
They don't want to
put themselves through
the heartache, the highs,
the lows.
So I want her to feel that
she CAN get back into
that world.
She can find love.
For a long time,
I always said there's a
difference between being alone
and being lonely.
But I think, as you get older,
the two sort of meld into one.
For Lauren, I want her to dress
in vibrant colours
and jewel tones
so that she is in the
spotlight, not in her own
shadow.
Lauren knows it's now or never,
and that will give her the
impetus to do the hard work.
Hi guys!
(WOMEN SHOUT)
You look amazing!
Oh, thanks, girls!
(CLAMOURING)
I love the Gucci bag.
Whoo!
Seeing my friends' reactions
to my reset outfit,
it was great, and it gave me
some positive reinforcement.
Stunning!
I needed that.
Cheers to looking different!
(ALL CHEER)
So you've done a little bit
of shopping for yourself
for your reset.
What's that experience
been like for you?
I took it as a mission,
as a job.
Just went in there and, um,
yeah, tried things on.
Actually found some things
that I would never have
normally picked before,
and I've worn them to work
and out with friends.
So, yes, it's been good.
I am so proud of you.
So I have a look
at this rack here.
Yeah.
This rack is all for you.
- Really?
- Yes.
Wow. Thanks, Kathryn.
Have a look through it
and tell me what you love.
I like this colour.
I really like this colour.
Not a colour that I have a lot
of in my current wardrobe.
So when I first met you,
you were wearing
a very basic top,
but it did have
the frill along the top.
I saw that you wanted
more fun in your life.
And so I picked this outfit
because it has the frill
detail,
but so much more.
What do you think
when you see this?
I love this shirt.
I absolutely love it.
It is something that
if I saw it in a shop,
I would probably buy, myself.
Yeah, definitely.
I know this look.
The look you wore
when I first met you
in the reading room.
Looking at it now, what
messages does it say to you
now?
Um, it's not really...
it doesn't really say anything.
It's just very plain.
So it's... it's very much
what I was before,
the old me.
Well, I'm going to get rid
of these for now.
- Going to burn them?
- Burn them.
No, I'll put them here.
And I have one more look
for you.
And it is in that
dressing room right there.
Lauren,
it's time to get dressed.
OK. Thank you.
I didn't realise that
part of this transformation
was going to be
so much about me,
and not just about the clothes.
It's not just how clothes
make me look,
but how they make me feel.
I still have those reservations
about the way that I look.
But I'm happy to sort of
embrace it and see how it goes.
I guess you picked up on it
that I am the dependable one.
I often put
everyone else's needs first.
But then, at the end of the
day,
there's also no-one
doing that for me.
So there is going to be
someone who does that for you,
and you know
who it's going to be?
It's going to be you.
Lauren, let's take a look.
You look spectacular.
Go have a look in the mirror.
Oh, wow!
I love it.
Wow.
This outfit
speaks of the new Lauren.
I feel more elevated.
Like this is
what I'm stepping into -
a completely different version
of myself.
It's so good, Kathryn.
Definitely be
wearing this one out, I think.
Perfect.
Lauren, why do you think
this is your reveal look?
It's just elevated my...
look, even my going out look.
This is, you know, more than
I would have worn before.
I see you get
a little emotional.
That's OK.
Tell me why.
Um... It's just. Yeah, it's...
Just having that feeling
of being worthy.
When you say 'being worthy' -
worthy of what?
Um...
Worthy of people's time.
Just worthy of my place here.
Yeah.
Does this picture,
this beautiful young woman look
in front of you,
does this feel right?
- Does this feel like you?
- Yeah.
This feels more like me.
- The me that I am.
- Yeah.
You're a jewel.
Yeah. An expensive one.
(BOTH LAUGH)
I don't doubt it.
Well, you enjoy
your own shine and sparkle.
I'm so proud of you.
Thank you so much.
I really appreciate it.
My pleasure.
I never thought
by changing my clothes
I would feel such a difference,
just such a change.
If I knew that
that's what it would start,
I would have done it
a long time ago.
Oh, my God.
I feel like I
don't recognise you.
(INDISTINCT)
- Hi!
- What do you think?
Look at you!
I love it. Give me a hug!
You look amazing!
Turn around.
Show me your outfit.
You look stunning.
I can't believe it.
You look like
a different person.
Yeah?
- Perfect. Let's go.
- Why waste it? Let's go, girl.
KATHRYN: It's really exciting
to see what might happen for
Lauren
now that the outside
matches her hopes that
she's been carrying quietly
on the inside.
My name's Hayden.
I'll be running you through
the c*ck class today.
The wardrobe,
and the self-confidence that
that has given me,
I feel definitely more
powerful.
Straight into
the big side of the...
This one. You put it in
with the egg yolk.
I'm leaving the boring
and the bland behind.
Now I feel like
I'm coming out to centre stage.
That's good. Do you like it?
Mmm.
(INDISTINCT DIALOGUE)
I feel excited about finally
stepping out from the shadows.
So you're wearing white.
Oh! Mine's already coming out.
KATHRYN: I want Lauren to know
that she can find love,
she can have the life she
wants,
and that the best days
are ahead of her,
and not behind her.
My goal is for people
to look in the mirror
and say, "I finally see me."
For Izzy, she put on
the lighter colours,
and it changed her look
completely.
I just hope she can keep it up.
So you're wearing all black,
which absorbs the light.
Yeah.
And then you have
tattooed permanently,
on your face,
in the most prominent way,
'love and light'.
100%.
And I think that speaks very
much to who you are as a
person.
I think in your core,
you are the love and the light.
Hi!
So the dress that
I'm looking for is strapless.
Kind of this shape on the
front.
- Sweetheart neckline?
- Yeah.
Nick and I are getting married
in a few weeks,
and since this transformation,
it has changed pretty much
how I need to look on the day.
Amazing.
Instead of it being
more darker-themed,
I think I need it to be
a lot more lighter-themed.
- That is so beautiful.
- Thank you.
An interesting challenge,
not just a reset on me,
but a reset on my wedding too.
ATTENDANT: That's
really different,
to have the fiance come in
and see the dresses.
Normally girls like to keep
that as a secret.
NICK: Yeah, we like to
break the rules,
make things
a little left from centre,
a little bit different.
- I want to give this one a go.
- ATTENDANT: Perfect.
Ready? One, two and three.
Perfect.
- So, how you feeling?
- I absolutely love this one.
This one is, like,
fits you perfectly.
Oh, thank you.
And the artwork coming through
the bodice is perfect.
(INAUDIBLE)
Yeah, that's stunning. Wow.
Yeah. I think we're
on the money here.
I feel beautiful.
I purely... I really...
I feel beautiful.
NICK: It's going to be good
to tie the knot,
make these memories,
and just make it all official.
Since this transformation.
I don't feel so much
like an outcast anymore.
I feel like I belong.
WOMAN: Good morning,
sweetheart!
It's time to wake up!
When people ask me who I am...
Alright, let's go.
What are we going to wear
today? What do you want to
wear?
..the first thing that always
comes to mind is I'm a mum.
You love that one, do you?
Yeah.
And my girls are my world.
I spend a lot of time getting
my girls ready in the morning.
By the time it comes to
getting myself dressed,
I chuck on whatever I can find.
I want Kathryn to make me feel
confident again.
Help me get back a little bit
of that spark that I've lost.
Hi. I'm Kathryn.
What's your name?
I'm Steph.
Steph, would you like to
have a reading?
Yes, please. I'd love to.
Hey.
Tell me a story.
