a black shadow
in my light running...

our light up on the ridge

because of the rocks
coming down

and very clearly,
something walked

in front of that light
creating a shadow.

And it's uncomfortable for me

because it makes no sense.

There was nothing
standing between us

and that wall
that we could see.

I'm still tripping out.

Like is that strange,

that the light
picked up a shadow

but nothing in the light?

I'm freaking
shaking right now.

You saw eye shine last night,
peeking behind the tree.

[Ronny] I just saw the shadow
but there's nothing there.

That shadow is strange.

That was probably
one of the most

incredible things
I've ever seen.

And I'm glad Mireya
was right next to me

and witnessed the same thing.

Even though
I couldn't really understand

what we were seeing
instinctually,

I knew we were seeing
the shadow of a Bigfoot.

-[Mireya] We have come out

to a spot where we're getting

an unusual amount of activity.

some crazy stuff happen to us.

-I saw a huge figure,

uh, by the top of this ravine

where all these rocks
were being thrown at us.

-[Bryce] Okay.
-[Ronny] And then,

we heard more rocks falling
opposite our position,

and Mireya and I
put our flashlights

against a rock face wall,

and then a shadow
went from right to left

in front
of our flashlight beams,

but what was crazy
is we couldn't see anything

in between us and that wall.

So you guys saw a shadow,

but there's no way

anything could've cast
that shadow, is that right?

[Ronny] It was crazy.

[Bryce] Don't you think
that's incredible

that all this activity

you guys
have been experiencing

is just right downstream

from where we found
that footprint?

I mean, the fact
that you and Russell

both saw
bipedal shadows running.

That's insane.

Look, I think you guys
should get back

on top of that ridge
in the morning

and see
if you can find any evidence

to explain all this activity

you've been experiencing.

water to get to this point.

So we have
to be diligent tonight.

he believes something
has been tracking him

from the ridge above.

When the sun was setting,

the camera actually caught
a shadow of something

that crossed
on the hillside behind me.

If something's running
side-by-side with us

up on the top at that point,
I don't like that.

The thing
about nights like this,

I'm the only thing
that doesn't fit in here.

I'm the uninvited guest.

I don't anticipate
getting any sleep tonight.

And there's a part of me
that doesn't know

how to explain it.

what sounds like rock fall

right across where we've been
hearing these sounds tonight.

a potential nest

I just heard two whistles.

I'm fast asleep
and I'm jolted awake

in the middle of the night
by this high-pitched whistle

coming from the same direction

where all those rocks
are being thrown at us.

Something in the water
is my guess.

There's nothing there.

But when I went to go look
and check it out,

it's complete darkness.

Complete silence.

Okay. What the [bleep].

The whistle I heard
reminded me of the one

that we had heard
back in Oregon.

It sounded exactly the same,
and it sounds like something

that should not
be in this forest.

-Do you hear that?

I don't believe
in coincidence.

And hearing that whistle,
I think

that it was trying
to communicate

with another member of its pod

or maybe some kind of warning,

telling us to stay out.

It was a frickin' whistle.

Like 2:40, like, I woke up
and I put the camera on

and I caught
the second one on video.

And that thing
jolted me right away.

The fact that we have rocks
being thrown out our tent,

we're hearing whistles
coming from that same ridge

where I saw that figure.

It seems pretty obvious
that there's something

up on that ridgeline
that doesn't want us here.

So that's where we're going.

[Russell] A lot of deer tracks
down here coming to the water.

from Ronny and Mireya,
Russell believes

whatever had been
stalking him

has made its way
to the canyon floor

under the cover of night.

Something crossed here
last night, sounded bipedal.

It was over there,
and is now sharing

this side
of the water with me.

I need to find out
what that was.

There's no question

that I'm not down here
by myself.

There's something else
out here as to what it is,

I know that it seems
to be following me.

It's tracking me

and I need to know
what that is.

I'm gonna see if I can work
my way across that water,

and see if there's a way
to get up that bank.

I don't like being

on this bottom
especially knowing

that something is trailing me.

Look how these ferns have
been pushed down right here,

literally laying flat
on the ground.

Something came through there.

You can see
the grass is laid over

on this other side
right out in front of me.

You see how it's pushed down,

that's a flat print
right there.

There's got to be
a big flush footprint

to make that big of a pad
and push that much down.

I suspect
that whatever crossed

that water is using this bank.

Definitely not dear,
it's not a bear.

that I'm heading
and see what I can find.

but I've been like

tripping out
over that shadow figure,

I'm still scratching my head
on that.

above where they spotted
a mysterious shadow

just hours ago.

-[Mireya] It's pretty strange.

[narrator] But first,

they plan to rendezvous
with Bryce.

half an hour until I'm there.

[narrator] Using advanced
video software,

he was able
to stabilize and enhance

the footage
of the shadow figure

and is now on his way

to share
the results with the team.

We both saw an outline.

-Right.
-But we don't really know

what was causing that shadow,

I mean,
there was nothing between us

and that rock wall
except the river.

But I believe there was.

-What do you think then?
-Bigfoot have...

And this goes back
to Native American lore.

They have this ability
referred to

in the researching world
as cloaking

or the ability
to go invisible.

[narrator] Last year,
Bryce met with physicist

Dr. Michael Dennin
who discussed the possibility

that cloaking or invisibility

might not be limited
to the realm

of legend and myth.

Turns out invisibility
we actually know how to do.

Right?

If we can figure out
how to make it in a lab,

it's not unreasonable
to assume that biology

could've figured it out
through evolution.

That would
make sense if you had

a Bigfoot that was in front
of us cloaking,

we couldn't visually see it
with our own eyes.

If we're seeing a shadow
on the rock wall,

there has to be something
in front of our lights

to create that shadow.

And the only thing
that I know can do that

is a cloaked Bigfoot.

See, I always try
to look at the similarities

of something
that we find with behaviors

of animals that we know of
in the wild.

And then
I can sort of justify that.

But that super natural ability
to disappear,

to cloak, that's a tough one.

-But does that remind you

though of your experience

when we were out here
and something came

rushing towards you
and you couldn't see it?

So we're seeing this,
we do have

some classic examples

that we personally
experienced.

There's other elements here

that we just don't have
any understanding.

There's been several times
during these expeditions

where I have felt conflicted
because I can't explain

what it is that I'm seeing
or experiencing.

And I think it's important
to keep an open mind,

take both sides into account,
and that's one of the things

that, in talking
to Jane Goodall,

I was reminded.

I think
what's the most important

about a scientific study

is to keep an open mind

not having
a narrow viewpoint,

you see more,

and you can get
these "aha" moments,

which may lead
to a completely new way

of thinking about something.

What I'm really hoping
is that the footage

that Bryce has will help
give me some answers

and explain
what it is I think I saw.

of the weirdest things
we've ever encountered.

And after analyzing
that footage that Ronny

and Mireya sent me
of that shadow,

I felt like I had
to personally come down here

and show 'em.

the coastal Salish people

talk about these creatures
being able to shapeshift

and we've heard
the words shadow people...

-Used and thrown around.

Is that what this is?

So to me, this is evidence
of cloaking

because we had our flashlights

-directly across.
-Yeah.

There was something
in between our lights

and that rock wall
to make that shadow.

And to me,
that's a cloaked Bigfoot.

It had the classic
conical head,

the way it moved,

these things can cloak,
and this is evidence of that.

And Bryce, the thing is,
and Ronny could tell you.

Every time
he brings up cloaking,

But I have to say

that this has opened
my mind up

a little bit about the mystery

surrounding that in just that

I can see this figure
very clearly,

what made that shadow.

any kind of physical evidence.

where he believes a Bigfoot

In the past,
we've had indications

that Bigfoot could be aquatic.

Many species of primate

like the Japanese macaque

spend enormous amounts
of time near water sources.

And hundreds of reported
Bigfoot encounters

have occurred
in or around bodies of water.

Including the one captured
in this image that shows

a large humanoid figure
exiting a river in Iowa,

this photo
was taken just days ago.

[Bryce] Not only do
some researchers believe

Bigfoot could be aquatic,
but a new theory

being discussed
is that the reason

their bones are never found

is that they hide the remains

in remote lakes
like this one.

So to test that theory

a submersible drone

equipped with
a high definition camera.

What we saw
across the river from us,

in my opinion,
was a juvenile Bigfoot.

And what was above causing
all those rocks to fall down,

I believe was actually
a mother Bigfoot

that was trying to divert us
away from her child.

The strange thing is just

that there's really nothing
out here

for an animal to come

-and stand here for like...

[Mireya] There's no food here,
no way to drink.

I mean, animals that do that

are animals
that have a lot of curiosity.

Yeah.
When it comes to Bigfoot,

curiosity is definitely

that main driver
of why they get closer

to campers,
to hikers, to hunters.

Well,
we're on logging grounds.

So if we're able
to find large areas

that have been cleared,

we could set something up,
like, we could set up a camp,

light it up at night,
walk away from it.

-And then see

if anything comes in
that's curious.

Clearings are great places
to observe animals.

Animals are very curious
by nature,

but primates in particular,

because of their
high intelligence

are incredibly curious.

I see it all the time
in the wild

where oftentimes curiosity

really gets
the better of them.

It seems over and over again
the tents,

is that curiosity catalyst.

We place the tent a little bit
closer into their domain,

not in their fishing area,
but right in their backyard.

I bet sure we're gonna get
some attention.

Seeing this stick figure,

is really unsettling.

I'm not quite sure
what to make of it.

But this thing gives me
chills just looking at it.

This looks like something
made this

and I just can't think
of a reason

why a person would make this

and sink it
to the bottom of a lake.

One thing's for sure.

This doesn't look
like a coincidence.

to find someone

who can tell me more
about this object.

Whatever is eating those
has a pretty hearty appetite.

If you think
about this vast forest,

there's a ton of vegetation
here to feed off of.

Bigfoot is an omnivore.

It will eat
whatever is available

from deer, to elk, to plants,

berries,
and so much other things.

And we know that berries
are the favorite.

the team used Bigfoot's

alleged fondness for berries
to their advantage.

They utilized
satellite imagery

to reveal a large patch
of huckleberries.

Food is everywhere here.

Huckleberries everywhere.

Survive out here
for a long time.

possible Bigfoot activity

while investigating the area.

If there was a Bigfoot
in this area,

those as they ripen up
and they come through

the shadow figure

and witnessed mysterious
activity.

and we could see each other.

conspicuous human activity

will draw the attention
of potential Sasquatch

in the area.

It's a perfect spot

because you've got
the tree line here,

the woods, and then this open
clearing so...

-It's gonna see our tents

whether it's coming
from the tree line,

whether it's coming
from the woods

or just coming across
the clearing.

I think it'd be great
to put lights in the tents

just make it look like
we're active that we're here,

draw some attention.

it would light up these domes.

any animals around,
they might just get curious.

There is some historical
context

when it comes to Bigfoot

having some interest in tents.

From Native American legends,
having a Bigfoot looking down

at them through the teepee,
to campers reporting

having rocks thrown at them.

This is a great way to draw
them closer to us.

is to set up

these infrared lights

-like a perimeter.

covering anything coming

through from the tree line.

These IR floodlights
are motion sensitive.

If anything comes in

it's gonna create
this IR light

which most animals
are unable to see.

to what it is

I can see your IR light off
in the distance to the right.

All the IR floodlights
are in place

and I have night vision
binoculars

which will give me
the ability to see anything

that might be coming close
to those tents.

Anything that comes within
this perimeter

is going to be lit up
like a Christmas tree.

I've got this recording
at all times.

So, now we just have to hope
that those lit-up tents

will draw something's
curiosity out.

Just waiting.

Feels like forever here.

My battery light
just went red,

I'm gonna change batteries
in the camera.

Technology
is a double edged sword.

In so many ways, it gives us
an advantage out in the field.

It allows you to see
or hear things

that our senses
won't pick up on.

But there's a flip side
to that and that this tech

uses a lot of power.

And we only have so many
batteries out here.

So that puts a time limit
on how long we can observe.

If we run out of batteries,

then we're completely
dependent on something

that just isn't working.

I gotta tell you
it is dead quiet.

Yeah, it's pretty quiet
over here too.

I just think that we're gonna
have more action

as we get deeper
into the night,

through this game trail.

I could be on the right path
to finding out

what's been stalking me
these last few days.

[cameraman] These trees
were pushed over, Russ.

While in this game trail,
something started tracking me.

Whatever is following me
has some size to it

because I can hear it moving
through the brush.

The trees are dense

and when you're closed in
like that,

you know, you're vulnerable.

You're in a bad spot.

I need you to get
in front of me

and turn that camera around
nice and slow.

Don't rush.

Generally, the camera
is behind me,

to monitor what I'm seeing.

Tonight being tracked,
I wanted the camera turned

and face me to monitor
my movements

and whatever was approaching
us from behind.
