and then we'll make our way over to see

what Dora duck is up to and finally

we'll sh**t on over to see cousin Chris

who will teach us how he draws a

beautiful bird of the rainforest and now

that's right I want to know everything

the rain forest so today we'll discover

all we can as we take a ride through

wonderful it along the way we'll find

out about the rain forest trees and

exotic animals of the rain forest and to

do that you'll have to earn the three

magic chain Jen and when we've earned

all three magic keys so what do you say

hey hey it's challenge one our fun today

has just begun

hey there power pals what kind of

weather do you think that the rain

forest gets we can do this one power

pals do you think that it usually snows

a lot in the rain forest no not me or do

you power pals think that it mostly

rains in the rain forest you're right it

rains in the rain forest because it is

usually very humid and warm there good

going on that challenge

hey it's Jen our first magic key the

first of three would use our first key

open up a door into the world of

storyteller

we're leaving will tell us a story about

the lush rain forests of Ecuador magical

magic key please open up this door for

me hi power pals I'm Lena the story

performer I'd like to share a story

about the lush rainforest in Ecuador a

country in South America there once

lived

audible lethal which is Spanish for

little tree more than anything else in

the world

audible eat though the little tree

wanted to grow as tall and strong as the

older trees so he too could shade and

protect the rainforest for hundreds of

years a large group of tall trees grew

so close together they created a special

can embellish a shelter the animals and

birds Otto bollito wanted to be special

and helped to one day a family of spider

monkeys los monos were walking

underneath the tall treetops they were

searching for a new home but most

mortals the monkeys were so busy

deciding which tall tree to pick or they

didn't notice our bollito and walked

right past him

I'm small compared to the grown-up trees

maybe it's because a tropical sky this

hole in the middle of my trunk

but just then baby monkey named Mona

Sita overheard our bollito and decided

to explore this little tree she scurried

up to the top branches and felt

protected she climbed back down and

peeked inside our boletos trunk

it looked warm and cozy Simona Sita

curled up inside the hole and went to

sleep

meanwhile los monos the rest of the

monkey family realized their baby was

missing they jumped from treetop to

treetop calling for her are but Moana

Sita was nowhere to be found

arbol Ito shook his branches to get

their attention but they still didn't

see him dark rain clouds gave way and a

heavy downpour began los monos the

monkey swung down to the forest floor to

search for mana Sita that's when they

saw our bollito shaking his branches

they ran over and looked inside the hole

and there was Mona Sita safe and dry and

there was enough room inside to house

the entire monkey family so they moved

in from that day forward

arbol Ito and Mona Sita grew up together

in the rainforest thanks for listening

incredible places and they exist only in

certain parts of our planet there are

rain forests and Central America

Southeast Asia Australia Africa in the

Amazon the climate of the rainforest is

very hot and humid and in rainforests

you'll find many unusual plants and

animals that's cool the rainforest

sounds like a very special place there

are only certain places in the world

that are lucky enough to have a rain

forest that is true rib the rainforest

is truly amazing well for now you and

hey power pals there are lots of exotic

animals in the rainforest can you match

these three sounds to the animals that

make them come on power pals let's think

really really hard okay let's start with

the first sound do you think that this

is the sound that a Jaguar makes now me

either how about this parrot

do you think that this is what a parrot

sounds like you're right now let's

listen to the next one do you think that

how about a snake yes you got it that's

the sound of snake mix and that must

mean this last sound belongs to the

Jaguar

Wow that was impressive power pals you

really know the exotic animals of the

rainforests and the sounds they make way

to go hey it's leave our second magic

key that's two of three we'll use our

second key to open up a door into the

world of science where Derek duck will

teach us about the rainforest

experiences magic magic please open high

power pals I'm Dora duck the tropical

rainforest is an amazing place where

it's really hot and it rains a lot

because of this there are really cool

plants and animals everywhere I know

because I just got back from a tropical

rainforest in a country called Costa

Rica I saw so many amazing animals there

I even saw a relative of rivers it was

called a red-eyed tree frog and I have

pictures from my trip and my search for

the red-eyed tree frog would you like to

see them yes excellent

welcome to the tropical rainforest where

the trees are big really big look at

that tree it's a monkey this one is

called a common squirrel monkey there

are millions of insects in the tropical

rainforest look these are butterflies Oh

a Blue Morpho butterfly and cool a Blue

Morpho butterfly egg isn't it beautiful

yeah did you know that most butterflies

only live for one month but where is

that red-eyed tree frog

maybe it's in that hole nope that belong

to a crab

oh and this hole belongs to a orange

need tarantula he's waiting for his

dinner to pass by no frogs there the

more I searched the tropical rainforest

the more amazing animals I discovered

look at that hummingbird nest and a

giant millipede what pretty mushrooms

look power pals those are frog eggs and

a frog but this is a strawberry poison

dart frog not a red-eyed tree frog and

this is a green and black poison dart

frog both of these frogs have poison in

their skin that can make you sick

their bright colors say don't touch me

this frogs not poisonous it's called a

Harlequin tree frog I think we're

getting close oh look there it is a

red-eyed tree frog

Costa Rica's most famous frog look at

those eyes beautiful the tropical

rainforest is a magical place and I hope

you can visit it yourself one day wow

trip to the tropical rainforest with you

hey rib did you enjoy that it was

totally cool you know the rainforest is

famous for its trees I'll explain that

we'll start on the bottom and work our

way up now the first layer of the

rainforest is called the forest floor

now the forest floor is very dark and

dank so nothing really grows there

plants need sunlight rib and the forest

floor is so dark the plants don't get

the sunlight that they really need now

the second layer of the rainforest it's

called the understory now this is a

place where some plants and animals live

this layer does get a moderate amount of

sunlight ah the uppermost layer of the

rainforest it's called the canopy layer

there trees can grow up to 150 feet high

those are some big trees rib it's also

where most of the food and sunlight are

so it's also where most of the animals

live you know the canopy layer is called

that because the trees grow to huge

Heights and they grow together and the

leaves come together which forms a

canopy over the whole entire rainforest

the canopy is almost like a roof now the

rainforest is vast and vast means huge

the rainforest is so vast that

scientists have not really been able to

discover all the different kinds of

plants and animals that live there you

know rip there may be plants in the

rainforest that can help us to cure

diseases or even help humans live longer

the rainforest is an incredible place

that's still being discovered today when

we listen to our hearts robber it says

the rainforest is important to our

planet in many ways you are so right rib

the rainforest is very important but

right now

the rain forest is full of life there

were trees animals plants and many other

living things in the rain forest can you

find the two monkeys hidden in this

picture of the rain forest what do you

think the answer is power pals is this a

monkey over here do you power pals see

that monkey over there oh yeah is that a

monkey no hey is that a monkey swinging

up there from that tree yes nice going

power pals you found both of those 80

monkeys that were hiding in the rain

forest good job on that challenge

it's Tiffany our final key the secret

word we're sure to use our final key to

open up the door into the world of art

draws and paints a beautiful parrot

I'm cousin Chris let's draw something

special today I'm going to use a

triangle circle

and oval to draw and paint a parrot

I'll start with a circle for its head

then I'll draw a long line to the other

corner of my paper to help me with the

rest of the parrot this triangle will be

its beak

and I'll make another line here now I'll

make an oval along the line for its body

and under it I'll add a triangle for its

long tail

I'll make another triangle for the

parrots wing finally an oval for its

foot now I'll frame it and there is my

outline using triangles circles

and ovals now

I'll darken in the lines I want to keep

I'll start with the parrots head and

give them a beak dar Adal showed us some

beautiful pictures of animals that live

in the rainforest parrot tons of animals

that live there even parents like this

one

gorillas leopards and monkeys also live

in the rainforests even frogs they must

really love the moist warm environment

it must be fun to live high up there and

all the tall trees I'll give my

parasitic and I'll frame it then we'll

be ready to color it in I'll start with

some red for the parrots head I'm going

to make it nice and colorful

you know power pals we get so many

things from the rainforest like fruit

nuts coffee and tea we even get some

important medicines from the plants that

grow there that's why we need to make

sure we preserve the rainforest because

they give us so many important things

the rainforest is so huge power pals

that we still have so much to learn

about it there are many people

throughout the world that are working

hard to make sure our rainforest stay

lush and beautiful I can't wait to hear

what they discover next I'm going to

finish up my painting with some brown

for the tree and there's my painting of

a parrot well I hope you try drawing on
