happy hi boys and girls welcome to papy

land I don't know about you but I'm in a

mood for a really different funfilled

Adventure does anybody have any ideas of

what we can do today with our

imaginations

yeah papy I'd like to be a cowboy that's

a good start H but you'll need a cowboy

hat wow thanks for the cat P you're

welcome Binky hey Sunny don't you know

what time it is yeah I sure do Elmer

it's blue after 2 it's time for our Wild

West adventure to begin hey Dr it I

heard you're the fastest drawer in the

west well so far that's true partner but

there's always someone who wants to

challenge me and I'm sure it won't be

any different today so come on everyone

let's all create an adventure together

oh boy this is going to be exciting we

can each play different parts in our

story right but every good Adventure has

a challenge any ideas I've got one how's

this I've heard that there's a big bad

character that's going to be riding into

town just to challenge you py that's a

great idea I think you better get your

sheriff's badge on py this guy sounds

dangerous that's right

Binky are you ready Toby Jane Daisy how

about you Billy Bob and you Wyatt and I

see you too Gabby and of course there's

Ben and little Joe oh and you too Annie

and Susanna it's time for the fun to

begin now how shall we get there there's

the py scope or the py pat Express or

the wishing

wheel or the much more

question Dru it okay Elmer you're a

cowboy

right I am now well then where's your

cow why right through the much moo door

soon I understand this dangerous dude is

riding into town right about now yep

that dude is a doodle dude and he's

looking to challenge the fastest drawer

in the West

he he sure looks like a tough ombre I

hope our new sheriff is up to the

challenge did I hear someone mention new

sheriff that's right sunny I reckon that

that big Badge of yours means something

it means I'm py Town's new sheriff

mister Mr Elmer Sheriff hey where did

you park your cow Cowboy is that

supposed to be a joke Mr Elmer I don't

take kindly to jokes especially when I

hear there's a dangerous character by

the name of doodle dude headed this way

to challenge me does that mean you're

yellow sure H yes I'm a yellow blue and

green and purple whatever color it takes

to be the fastest drawer in the west I

hope you're fast with that pencil too

because a doodle dud will be in town

real soon I'll do my best uh what's you

serving here partner well we have a

rooted beer and we have ice cream you

can have them separate or you can have

them together uh I'll just have a Root

Beard Turtle okay Sheriff with a straw

or without uh with a straw of course of

kindly I can't wait to get to papy town

there's a new sheriff and I've

challenged some of the best why even

dude before that doodle dude character

shows up I have a special drawing to do

noon okay Partners get your paper and

pencil's ready let's draw something that

every good Western has what did you say

oh horse that's a mighty fine idea let's

get

drawing all righty let's start over here

and that right there is the top of the

horse's ear right there that's just the

tip of his ear and let's

draw the other ear right there

good now let's draw the shape of his

head I'll draw a line right there

and another curve

line and bring it around and bring it

back up and stop right

there and just put a little line like

that this is the bottom of the horse's

mouth and we'll curve that around like

that very

good now let's put a bridal or a

strap by just drawing two lines together

like

that very

good there now I'm going to draw two

eyes one Circle right

here and another

Circle and one dot there and one dot

there all righty and let's show his

eyelid by

just drawing to lines like

that all right and let's put his other

nostril over here we don't want to

forget that

and that curve line like so

good now let's draw the horse's

body and we'll start by putting our

marker or pen or our crayon or pencil or

whatever you're using right here and

bring it down and around and

stop now let's draw the two front legs

and I'm going to bring this line

down bring another one down like that

and

stop

and do another one right

there and we'll draw his

stomach do theind leg

right bring it around like so and

stop and starting right here here we'll

bring this line down and around and stop

it right there there's one of the Hooves

and let's just put a curved line there

to show that that's the front part of

the hoof now let's draw the other two

Hooves and that's a curve line like

that bring it around and

stop and starting right here bring that

around and stop right there

now let's draw the other horses Hof

right here that'll be the last one they

have horses have four

legs I hope they do all righty let's

let's bring this line right here we'll

start right here and we'll bring this

line right around like

so take your time and bring it around

and stop right

there very

good now I'll draw finish the other hoof

you'd like to see the horses main all

right let's do that

now okay starting right here let's put a

curve line

there and another one

good I'm so glad that we're drawing a

horse today because because so many of

you have written me letters telling me

that you love drawing animals so py

decided to draw a horse today and I'm

enjoying it I hope you are okay let's do

the main right here and we'll just put a

curve line like that and another

one and another one have fun with this

cartoon of

yours there we

righty now let's do the horse's

tail and I'll start right here and we'll

bring a line around like that can you

see that there we go we'll just bring

that

around and

stop very good you could make a longer

tail if you'd like but I'm I'm going to

make my tail just about this long right

there now right at the bottom here I'd

like

to show some of the hairs as they come

down from his tail like that just

indicate some lines just like

so

parts anymore thanks Sheriff that dude's

been a big bug for a long time glad I

could be of help but now it's time for

me to Mosey on back to my cabin I've got

some serious coloring to

do but before I go uh this town needs a

new sheriff and you're a natural bear

would you wear this ha badge I'd be

honored oh boy well good luck then and

remember to do your best bear oh and

tell that Mr Elma fella he can finish

all my root bear after all well isn't

that nice of him

yeah and so

grow cheese

girls wasn't that fun you made our

adventure come alive by inventing great

characters from your imaginations it

sure was fun py can we do that again

sure bank but that's enough Wild West

adventure for one day let's get

coloring so Partners get your cray your

markers or your colored pencils ready

because we're going

to Hey where's the horse I

drew is the doodle dud gone yet yes he

is and now come on out so we can color

you okay pey

there that's better let's get coloring

now boys and

girls all righty I'm going to choose a

nice brown color for my

horse what's that Billy you chose black

for your horse good

choice

oh yes and Kelly you chose a dark brown

that's a good choice too

there we go horses come in many

different

colors that's

right any color you

choose is fine with papy because I love

it when you choose your own

colors all right let's just color this

[Music]

in remember to have fun

and stay nice and loose and

relaxed

good besides choosing your own colors

remember to add your own ideas to the

picture boys and girls and that's what

helps to make each of your pictures a

little different and special I wonder

what you'll add to this picture I'm sure

a lot of you will come up with some

great

ideas

okay now py is going to

stop

coloring right here I'm going to leave

what we call a

highlight and that's a little shine see

that right there and I'm going to

continue downward and stop right

there

okay notice papy is not coloring in this

area here because I want to make that

look like the white portion of the horse

those are called Socks

[Music]

okay and if you've seen horses and

pictures and in movies and on TV some of

the horses have those white portions on

the lower part of their legs like that

there we

go very

good now I'm going to choose black for

the horse's

Main and rather than color I'm going

to suggest

some lines just like so just

to add some more hair to the drawing

just like

that very

good now I'm going to do the same to the

tail I'll just draw some lines like

that see that

and bring it up notice papy's leaving

another highlight and that'll make his

tail look

shiny shiny black hair for his

tail good when you're all done with your

coloring and have added all your special

touches I'd like you to think of a name

for your picture that's called giving it

a title you can write your title

somewhere on your picture or on the

other side of your paper

and again I'm sure some of you will come

up with some great titles all right I'm

going to use this color for the front

portion

here of my horse

drawing notice on the on a horse's mouth

it's a little bit lighter the color it's

not as dark as the actual color of the

horse it's always a little lighter

around his

mouth there we go let me just color that

like

that and I'm going to choose a nice

bright yellow for the

Hoops that's like so that looks pretty

good and

I'll

color like

that I think I'll use the same color for

the the bridal or this little leather

strap around the

horse's face there there now I'm going

to indicate some grass on the

bottom so I'll use my green

crayon there we go that's like

[Music]

so that shows that our hor is standing

on some grass like that he's going to

graze eat some of that grass

there very

nice well I'm finished

I'm finished too with your root beer hny

thanks for being so generous Elmer how

did you get that root beer back here in

the cabin oh oh well come on boys and

girls hold up your drawings so I can see

them wow very good they should all be in

the Hall of Frames so should you pep so

why don't you quit your horsing around

and go

how talented each and every one of you

is I'm so proud to display your pictures

here you know every picture you send me
