Lily how are you today Binky I'm doing

great I'm glad to hear that it's going

to be a wonderful day in papy

land hey there Grand peppy hello

Sunny H it seems like something's

missing what's that where is Elmer good

question hey

Elmer yeah Sunny don't you know what

time it

is what happened to you Elmer you always

ask me what time it is something else is

on my mind today pap it is yeah

somebody's coming to papul land to pay

me a visit I'd like to hear more about

your visitor Elmer but first I want to

say hello to our other friends who are

visiting papy land today I see you

William and Jamal and you Jenna and Sean

and Laurel I'm glad you're here too

Jessica and a big happy hello to you too

lots of you have been sending in the

great pictures you've been drawing and

coloring I'll show you some of them when

we visit the Hall of Frames a little

later on

now what were you saying about a visitor

Elmer hold on Elmer is somebody ringing

our doorbell again we don't have a

doorbell drew it that's Belle trying to

get your attention uh of course why

didn't I think of

Shortcake I'm so glad I caught you did

you know that Elmer's twin sister is on

her way to papy land twin sister you

sure know everything Belle it's my job

to know everything please tell Elmer he

should meet Eloise at the papy lion

Depot Pronto she'll be arriving in just

a few minutes Eloise at the Depot uh

Pronto I gotcha I'll give Elmer the

message thanks Belle

T Elmer you didn't tell me you had a

twin sister okay I have a twin sister

and that her name is Eloise okay her

name is Eloise and that she's meeting

you at the Depot hey hey I didn't know

that part and Belle says that Eloise

will be there in just a few minutes how

will I make it there in time it looks

like it's time for the helicopter hooray

yay come on Elmer let's fly the colorful

Skies over to the letter lands it's the

pepy land sure looks pretty from up here

in the

copter everything looks a little green

to me pey and why didn't you ever tell

me about your twin sister Eloise Elmer

like lots of brothers and sisters

growing up we had our differences papy

why Grandmama pppy used to say she could

tell we were yelling and fussing even

before we were born

before you were born did she eat pizza

with sardines like you do Elmer and that

could have felt to her like yelling and

fussing nah grandama papy lik meat and

potatoes H her pizza that is ah there's

a Depot right below I have to find a

good place to land so do I papy meet you

Elmer hey who turned out the lights are

you okay Elmer I've been bushed before

but this is ridiculous here Emma let me

help you I suppose you're going to tell

me how clumsy I am Eloise not at all I'm

going to tell you how I'm very impressed

that you've learned how to parachute

enough for the insults

Eloise that's not an insult Elmer Eloise

just paid you a compliment and Elmer you

look really great better than ever There

She Goes Again with insults papy will

you ask her to stop Elmer it seems that

you don't know how to take a compliment

where am I supposed to take it to you're

supposed to take a compliment to Heart

how do I do that how would you like me

to draw you a picture to show you do it

it if you have your paper and your

pencils or your markers already in front

of you that's good if not you can get

them right now so we can get started I'm

going to draw a picture of a boy on a

basketball

court alrighty I'm gonna start by

drawing the boy

first and I'm going to draw his face

first so let's draw a half

circle or the letter

U looks like the letter U doesn't it all

right now let's draw his

hair

and

small little Wiggly lines like

that

good

okay there we

go Bey had to get his marker to work it

was getting a little dry all righty

let's put two dots for

eyes

Okay and another dot right

there good

now we'll put eyebrows on our little guy

just like

that and we'll draw his

ears just like

that good now let's just put a little

line to show the inside of his

ears all righty let's draw his

nose

Okay and we're going to draw his mouth

and and his mouth is the line that I

drew for his mouth is kind of turned

down because he's something wrong he

looks like he's puzzled all right let's

draw his

arm and we'll bring that line

around like

that

okay and we'll bring this line around

like that and

stop okay now let's draw his hands and

we'll draw this hand first one finger

two fingers three fingers four fingers

five fingers and we'll do the same thing

on the other side all right one thumb

and a finger and a finger and another

finger and we'll connect it right there

and we'll just show that his arm is

bending by drawing a line there all

righty it's nice to give a compliment to

someone isn't it uh that can really make

a person feel good if your brother or

your sister or a friend draws a picture

that you like I hope you'll tell them

say I really like your picture it's

great that'll be sure to make them smile

do you know what compliment I gave the

Frog when it jumped real high no what

compliment did you give the Frog when it

jumped real high I said you are totally

awesome get it

totally I guess Cy jok's running a

family all right okay he's holding

something in his hands

so we'll

make a curve line there and you can see

that it's round it's a ball of some kind

and we'll put a line here and a curve

line right there and and another curved

line wow it's a

basketball oky dokie all right put a

line there to show the bottom of his

shirt and another one there we'll

connect it good and we should show the

top part of the shirt right there do the

same on the other side just like that

and we'll draw a curve line

here there now let's draw his shorts put

a straight line there and another

straight line right there and bring it

over and an upside down V just like that

and connect

it now just put a straight line there

another straight line there for one leg

and we'll do the same on the other side

and connect

them and we'll just draw his socks by

doing a drawing a small curved line

right below that line there and do the

same there now we'll draw his sneaker

curve line and bring it up and a curve

line and bring it up and connect it good

now over here let's draw the uh the the

uh the basket and the backboard I'm

going to start by drawing the backboard

first so starting right here let's

draw long line like that a long swooping

curving line bring it around and cannect

Conn it all righty right here let's draw

an

oval good let's draw the net curve line

there another curve line there and a

curve line there another one and one

more now let's go in the opposite

direction a curve line there starting

right here bring it up and another one

and another one good now let's draw the

Pole right

here starting right

here we'll bring a line straight down a

very long straight line just like that

right next to

it starting right here at this point

let's

bring another line all the way down like

that now let's connect it with a small

curv line good

all right let's make the base of the of

the basketball uh the backboard here the

pole is connected to the

base and we'll just bring that line

around

and over like that and back up and

stop all righty I see something we can

put on his sneak let's just show the

bottom of his

so the bottom of the sneaker which is

called the so so we'll just put two

lines just like that

good let's see how the boy reacts when

he hears a

compliment okay pitcher do your

stuff you're a terrific basketball

player no I'm

not I am good I can do

it great thank

you the boy told himself he was good

then he accepted the compliment and then

he made the basket let's ask sing a song

to play a song for us his music is papy

rific oh sing a song I'm right here papy

thanks for the

compliment you know papy it's so good to

see

you in fact it's always good to see

you compliments are

friendly Compliments are

good give them out

sincerely and receive them as you

should finding something kind to say is

always worth the

effort and accepting kind words others

say is the right thing to do

when Elmer played the bjo in the school

band he was really great banjo I wasn't

so great hey I was pretty great wasn't I

thanks for the compliment Eloise I'm

sure Elmer and Eloise have a lot to talk

about and we have a lot to color about

we'll copter back to the cabin and meet

them back there a little

later what a great ride it's time to

start coloring girls and boys I can see

that lots of you have your markers and

crayons and colored pencils you could go

and get yours too or or you could try

coloring with your imagination that can

be lots of fun

too okay I'm going to start by coloring

the little boy's

hair

just like

that there that looks good now I'm going

to I think I'll color the ball and you

can col it that's a basketball but you

can col it any color you'd like I'm

going to use kind of a light brown

colored

crayon

and you can have fun and use bright

colors on your ball or just follow

papy or use your own imagination and

just have fun when you do it that's the

important

thing okay we'll just fill that right

in very

nice all

righty now I'm going to pick a nice

bright color for his

uniform ah

red there we go

good remember boys and girls how the

basketball player felt at first when he

received a compliment when someone

notices you've done something well say

thank you and feel good about

it

okay I think I'm going to use my yellow

crayon for a

short I'll bet a lot of you chose a

different color and I like that when you

use your own ideas and choose your own

colors When someone tells me they like a

picture I painted it makes me feel good

for the whole day and it makes you want

to paint more pictures too that's

because when someone gives you a

compliment

it encourages you it makes you feel good

about what you've done I like the

picture you're coloring now py thanks

for the compliment

Binky and I'm going to put yellow

socks very

nice now I'm going to color

in his

arms I'm going to

use this color for his

arm and the other

arm very

good it's fun calling with you and I

hope you enjoy it

too now now let's color his

face don't

worry if you can't stay inside the lines

perfectly it's

okay just try your very best and that's

all py wants you to do is enjoy yourself

and try real

hard H that looks very nice okay I'm

going to use another bright colored

crayon it looks like a a green crayon

it's it's called teal the color that I'm

using is called

teal and it's kind of a bright colored

greenish

blue oh that looks very nice for his for

his shoes or his

sneaks

yes all right now I think I'll color in

the

backboard a bright

orange

and I'll just fill this

in back and forth back and

forth I'll bet some of you have this

kind of backboard in your backyard or in

your

driveway when you play baset

basketball there now I'm going to use my

blue

cray to color the pole and again you can

use any color that you

please because there's no limitation to

your

imagination and we'll do the

base

and we'll do the rim

blue like

so and we'll just indicate oh little

Shadow like

that

well there you have

it let's see your pictures now girls and

boys hold them up nice and high so I can

see

them wow I really love your pictures

you've done such a great job of drawing

and coloring and I see you smiling and

holding your heads up high after that

compliment very good if you're sitting

next to somebody why don't you pay them

a compliment about their picture right

now I want to hear lots of compliments

great Compliments are

paperific sometimes when people tell me

I look nice or smell sweet it makes me

feel shy I don't know what to do or say

you could say thank you compliments make

me smile smiling looking up instead of

looking down and standing up sitting up

straight I'll show others that you

accept their compliment yeah

well look who's here welcome to papy's

making my face hurt why is that Elmer

because I'm smiling so much oh Elmer

Frames is one of my favorite places we

have pictures from all over and they

remind me that papy has friends just

about everywhere and when you add your

own ideas to the drawings that makes

them extra special remember each of you
