hello kids welcome to taffy land yes i

can see you hello kelly and phillip and

andrew and mary and i see all the rest

of you too

are you ready for some fun and papulent

today hey

sonny don't you know what time it is

oh my it's blue after two it's time to

get inspired to draw what do you say

kids how should we get inspired today

uh what's that you say

did you say the much more door that's a

wonderful idea

now why didn't i think of that oh well

well are you ready

all we have to do now is open up the

door and see what's on the other side

this is going to be a whole bunch of fun

are you ready to see

oh boy wouldn't you just love for me to

open this door

well since i'd love to show it to you

here goes

do you know where that path leads it

leads to the home of a very good friend

of mine his name is

buddy bear he's a big chubby bear and

he's lots of fun would you like to visit

him hmm

you would

great then let's go

i just love to visit pepe land don't you

buddy

hello papi

what do you got there

this is honey i just love to eat it it's

my favorite

i thought peanut butter and jelly was

your favorite

oh i love peanut butter and jelly but i

love honey more it's so sweet and tasty

actually i love all kinds of food

that's an interesting word

food

love

it is i think food is much more

interesting hey kids don't you think the

word love is used a lot

oh hi kids i didn't even notice you were

here do any of you love honey as much as

i do

see buddy loves honey we love to visit

papi land

some people love to go swimming people

can love each other too i love to draw

don't you

yes i guess you're right papi love is an

interesting word

uh did you bring any honey with you no i

didn't but i'm going to teach the

children how to draw a very special

picture i'd love to have you pay close

attention to what we draw you might

learn something

well since i'm out of honey i guess we

can do that

good

come on everybody we're going to draw so

get your crayons and your markers ready

today boys and girls we're going to draw

two birds on a branch together

are you ready

okay here we go follow along

first line i'll draw is a curved line

just like this

good

okay now let's draw the bird's wing

and right where that line ends we're

going to put another swooping line just

like that stop

but don't take your pen off now or your

crayon or your marker or whatever you're

using and bring it around and connect it

just like that okay now we're going to

draw the bird's beak

are you ready follow along

starting right here

a small little curved line just like

that

and right here at this point bring it

over to the right and connect it

good

all righty let's let's put the other

wing on there by starting right here at

this point and bring that line around

and stop

good

now we're going to do the front of the

bird by starting right here

and make that line swoop just like that

and connect to that point good

all right now let's

put the feet on the bird we have to put

the feet on a bird because he's holding

on to that branch okay and we'll do that

by making

two curved lines one there and another

one there

and finish it by putting

and connecting that line like that just

connect those two little lines good

we're going to do the same thing with

the other foot it's just two small lines

just like that and connect them

very good

now let's put the tail feathers on the

bird okay

and that's just

three little looping lines one loop

two loops

three loops good

all righty

uh our bird needs eyes doesn't he

all right so we're gonna just put a

small little curved line just like this

there we go

very good now pappy's gonna start

drawing the other bird so follow along

here we go start right there and move

your crayon or pen or pencil around like

that and stop

very good

now right at that point let's bring it

around again and stop

very good and

same thing on the other side boys and

girls bring it around and stop just like

that

very good

now we're gonna put the tail feathers on

our second bird okay are you ready here

we go

starting right here one loop

two loops and three loops good

all right

i noticed that the second bird needs to

beat two so we're gonna do that next

okay here we go

starting right here let's just put the

beak

right there

did you see how i did that are you

paying attention all you have to do is

just follow along slowly all right now

we're going to put the eye on our second

bird

and that's just a curved line like this

very good

now uh what do you notice what's missing

here on that second bird

did you say his feet you're right here

we go let's put his feet on there

okay

one toe

just little curved ovals you could call

them ovals that's what they are they're

ovals okay

and an oval is kind of a flat rounded

circle it's like taking a a circle and

Fl*ttening it a little bit and that's

what an oval is okay

did you get that

were you following along did you get

that all right good good let's put the

branch now they're sitting on a branch

so starting right here let's just draw a

long curved line like that and stop

and we'll pick it up right here and

bring it over here like that and we're

going to start on the other side and

bring it over and stop

very good

now let's kind of do the same thing only

on the top of this line but don't touch

the line kind of stay separated from it

like this

there you go see how pappy's doing that

very good

and because the branch is thick isn't it

okay and stop

now we're going to put some leaves on

the front of that branch there because

it is part of a tree and there's leaves

on this tree right here we're gonna put

one leaf

good

and i'm gonna put two

three leaves okay good now you can put

as many leaves as you want on your

branch i don't mind you can do anything

you want to do because it's your drawing

just have fun drawing with papi all

right

okay

i'd like to put a a nest over here to

the right of our birds okay and a nest

is a bunch of branches and twigs and

leaves the birds gathered them and and

wove them all together to create a nest

okay and that's just a bunch of lines

and you can do what you want but you can

follow papi and i'll show you how here

we go

one line

there

and another line there

kind of hard to draw a lot of twigs but

it's not too bad when you're following

someone isn't it okay

here we go just put a bunch of lines and

squiggly little lines like that just to

show there's a bunch of twigs and leaves

together

just do your best

there we go

excellent excellent

just wonderful okay

now i want to i want to extend that

branch further because it looks like

it's just cut off here i want to make it

look like the branch goes past that nest

like that

so i'll just bring that line out a

little further

very good all right i want to do one

more thing before we finish our bird i

noticed that the second bird you can't

see his wings so i'm going to put one

line right over here follow along right

here

and i'm going to bring that down

and stop

and i'm going to do the same thing over

here bring a little line down and stop

good

well

that's our drawing of two birds on a

branch

wasn't that neat what do you think buddy

bear

it seems to me that there are different

kinds of love it all depends on what it

is or who it is

very good buddy bear that's right you

don't love food the same way you love

your friends

the word is the same but the meaning is

different

maybe we should sing a song about it

papi that would help make it real clear

i love the singer song how about it boys

and girls do you want to sing

you do

good

oh sing a song i'm right here pappy do

you have a song about love for us i sure

do

well then let's hear it

when you like someone they're a good

friend when you love someone it's

forever to the end because love doesn't

fail you or your pal love remains

forever it's never for sale there are

different kinds of love that come from

your heart and come from above and it's

all called love let's try and start to

count the types of love in the world

there is love for things like weather

and rings and even brand new shoes

you can love most anything there really

are no rules you can love the snow you

can love to go you can love cartoons you

can love mushrooms you can love to draw

with happy whatever makes you happy

you can love most anything that's why we

really love to sing there are different

kinds of love that come from your heart

and come from above and each does its

part

but then there is the highest kind the

one we should walk in all the time we

call it unconditional it means love

never fails it means love never fails

it's the kind of love we have for each

other like sister to sister or brother

to brother or father to mother or all

the above it's the highest kind and it's

all called

love you

can

love the snow you can love to go you can

love cartoons you can love mushrooms you

can love to draw with happy whatever

makes you happy

love doesn't fail

you

or your pal

love remains forever

it's never

it's never

i'll try to help elmer what is it you

want to know do you love me as much as

we should never compare love like that

elmer true love doesn't come in a

measuring cup

i guess you'll love us the same huh

that's being selfish elmer real love

isn't selfish if you love buddy you'd

want me to love him as much as i love

now let's stop the mush and let's color

you're silly oliver

okay kids let's learn to color our

picture

okay let's get started i'm going to

color our birds

well i think i'm going to color one of

them red and the other one blue

blue birds red birds bluebirds and

redbirds okay here we go

the first bird i think i'd like to color

his wing red

that'll look very nice

good okay let's do the other wing now

we'll do the other wing

that looks pretty

now i think i'll

continue coloring because we do have one

red bird and one bluebird so i'd like to

finish making my bird red

although you can make any color

combination that you'd like you could

make yellow and red or blue and red but

i'm going to make mine all red

yes that's right that looks good

and i'll just fill it in like that

it's fun coloring boys and girls i enjoy

coloring with you i hope you enjoy

calling with papi

all right

look at that bird he's so pretty

oh wonderful

all right now it's time to do our

bluebird

and i'm going to use my

blue crayon

and i'm going to start down here and

just work my way up

very good

there we go

and just continue to fill it in and just

color it right in like that take your

time

there we go

i notice pappy's kind of bearing down

hard on the paper and that makes a

darker color when you when you bear down

when you bear down on your crayon okay

it makes it makes the color go darker

and when you go lightly on your crayon

now watch when i go lightly

notice how i make a lighter blue isn't

that interesting see that

now that's because i didn't bear down as

much but when i bear down

notice how i can make it darker

isn't that

interesting there you go so when you

want to make a darker color you can you

can bear down a little bit and when you

want to make that color a little lighter

you can let up on the crayon

that's right

all right good that looks very good now

let's do uh the bird's beak and i like

to use the color orange when i do a

bird's beak okay because that's pretty

close to the color

and i'll fill it in like that

and do the other bird

and i'll do his little claws there we go

and bird's feet

there

good

all right let's let's start by coloring

in these leaves over here on the tree

branch

and for that i'm going to use the color

green it's the perfect color for for

grass or leaves isn't it all right let's

begin

here we go i'm bearing down a little bit

notice how my green looks dark isn't

that nice

and again watch what happens when i when

i don't bear down on my crayon look at

that

it's a light green

it's not as dark

but i like it darker so i'm bearing down

see that's just a little trick pappy

showed you there

so you know what you can do with your

crayons you can do different things and

create different effects that's right

very good

wonderful

i love the color green

now what do you say we work on the

branch that the two birds are on

you have any ideas uh what for a color

for that branch i think i think i hear

everybody say brown so

uh brown is the color this is the color

we're gonna use you talked me into it

let's start

over here

and just color that in brown like that

oh this is so nice it's looking

wonderful i hope yours is looking good

too and i know it is

i'd sure like to give this to a friend

of mine i'm so happy with this drawing i

hope you're happy with yours

all right just fill that in like that

and take your time uh when you're

coloring boys and girls it's it's very

important that you take your time

because we don't want to make a messy

drawing do we it's like your room mom

and dad doesn't like you to have a messy

room either so when pappy's drawing he

likes to be as neat as he can so the

drawing really looks looks its best okay

all right let's continue here and finish

the branch

very good

wonderful oh this is so pretty now i'm

going to do the uh the nest the birds

nest over here okay you know the bird

the birds nest is off to the right here

and i'm gonna start out by putting

yellow down first i'll show you a little

trick here

all right color the color the nest

yellow like that

very good

okay that's looking wonderful

now

i'm going to take my brown crayon

and i'm just going to put a few lines in

here like this just

just kind of the way we drew it

the way i drew it

the way peppy drew it

all right and that's just going to make

change that yellow into kind of a golden

yellow see that

and that that looks more realistic

doesn't it it looks just like a real

bird's nest

very good

now i'm going to take my green crayon

and because when the bird makes his nest

he uses all kinds of twigs and branches

i'm just going to add some more lines

just like this

see that

good

now with my blue crayon

i'm going to show a little bit of the

sky in the background okay

are you with me

okay let's indicate some some uh sky

back here and i'm just gonna i'm not

bearing down notice papi's not pressing

down on his crayon so because he wants a

lighter blue see

and he's just gonna suggest some color

here like that

and i'll suggest some blue over here in

the background by the red bird

very good

and he'll just suggest some color over

here

you don't have to bring the blue all the

way to the end of the paper you can stop

right where you want

i'm only going to show a little bit of

sky

just around the bird

just like that

oh boy that's really looking nice i know

somebody who would just love this

yes siree bob

i know just a bird who would just love

this

there we go

well that just about finishes that

still working on it when you're done and
