I'm so glad I got to see you before I went to bed.

I'm so tired, but I just can't get to sleep.

Is it ever hard for you to go to sleep?

Do you have any ways you get ready for a good night's rest?

My friend's sure do.

And today they're going to show me

how they get ready for bed.

for everyone back home?

- Were you and M.A.R.T.I.E working on your spaceship?

- Crashing comets no.

I just had trouble getting to sleep when I went to bed

and so I didn't get enough rest.

I even tried snuggling with my hippo-blad

but it didn't help.

- High fried evergreens.

I mean, I tried everything.

We did all the things that we do back home to help us sleep

but nothing worked.

I even tried gelding fibble wizzits, but nothing helped.

My head hit the pillow, but I couldn't get to sleep.

- But you need your rest Dooley.

We all do.

- Poor Dooley.

I'm always tired and cranky when I don't get enough sleep.

- There must be something we can do to help you sleep.

- If you don't sleep

you don't have enough energy to play the next day.

Maybe we can help.

What else have you done to try to go to sleep?

- Did you play soft, quiet music that could relax you?

- My teddy bear helps me get to sleep.

- Did you have an extra blanket?

I like to have a nice warm blanket when I go to sleep.

- Jumping Jupiter.

You all have so many good ideas on how to get to sleep.

- We robots don't sleep

but I know how important sleep is for people and Dooley.

- You don't sleep ever?

- Nope, I just recharge my batteries.

- For boys and girls going to sleep

is just like recharging your batteries.

Getting a good night's sleep means

that we wake up rested and refreshed the next day.

- Are you scared of something Dooley?

I used to be afraid the dark.

- Hm, no, I don't think so Chris.

I guess I just don't feel snugly yet.

- Feeling safe and loved certainly helps us sleep.

- Maybe we can help Dooley feel safe and snugly.

The Bible tells us God will protect us.

He's ready to help whenever we're afraid.

And if we trust in Jesus, he'll make us feel safe.

Even when we're in scary places.

(Dooley yawning)

- Oh my that always happens.

When someone yawns everybody else with them, always yawns.

- You've got to stop this Dooley.

- And is for snoring like Nate does.

Some people say the sandman helps us get to sleep.

- Why when I couldn't sleep,

my grandmother would sing me a lullaby.

Why just minutes after grandmother would start singing,

I would be asleep.

What's a lullaby?

- Why a lullaby is a song or a poem

that helps you sleep.

- It's slow.

- And soft.

- And my grandmother knew a million of them.

My mom too.

- Oh, would you all do a lullaby for me?

Maybe it's all our efforts that are keeping Dooley up.

- If we keep Dooley up thinking of ways to go to sleep,

he'll never get any sleep.

is just leave Dooley alone for awhile.

where he can get comfortable and think about his day

Hi everybody.

It's me Dooley.

Ever since my ship landed here on Earth

I've learned lots about your planet.

Today I learned all about going to sleep.

Sometimes it's hard to fall asleep

but there are things we can do to help ourselves.

Mrs. Z brought us the letter S and sang a lullaby.

A lullaby is a soothing song that helps you relax and sleep.

My friends showed me some relaxing things we can do

before we go to bed, we can snuggle with something soft

or listen to a story.

- Once upon a time there was a little pony.

- I finally fell asleep

and had a wonderful dream about all my friends.

We were all singing and having a truly Dooley good time.
