Today Max and Nick and Ashley and Michael,

learn how to be safe

here on this beautiful planet of yours.

I want all of us to be safe around the house.

I stay safe by listening to what my parents

and teachers tell me.

in the driveway and never on streets.

when I ride in the spaceship or car.

A Safe Place

I'm a magnet for the accidents of the universe.

- What's wrong, Marty?

- Well, I was working on the implement mammal,

Uh, I mean instrument panel,

and I dropped the bench on my ptut,

Uh I mean, wrench on my foot.

- Oh, that must have hurt.

Is it okay now?

- Well it's just a little dent.

I guess I'm feeling better now.

- But in a real emergency,

does everyone remember what to do?

- You said 9-1-1 is the magic number for an emergency.

You use it to call for help.

- You mean when I lost my favorite hippo plant

I could have called 9-1-1 for help.

- Not quite Dooley.

You needed help finding, but it wasn't an emergency.

- My marker ran out of red.

Can I call 9-1-1?

- No, that's not an emergency either, honey.

- I know. An emergency is just someone breaks a bone

or an ambulance to take you to the hospital.

- Because I didn't know you were playing.

and that is to be safe around fire

and other hot things.

- Like matches.

- That's right. Stay away from matches

and other things that can potentially be hot.

- Like lighters and barbecues.

- Right again.

- Heaters and stoves.

- Absolutely. Our firefighting dog friend here

Would tell you to stay away from hot things.

And do you remember what to do

In case of a fire or other emergency?

- Dial 9-1-1

- Very good. That's right.

The phone can keep you safe in case of an emergency.
