Lindsay Tilton she's 11 and uses a

wheelchair she's coming on with her

specially trained golden retriever Tracy

who helps her do things you know you're

right we are going to love today's show

to be working with the Bigles on their

personally Billy animals just like

people can be scared of something new

and gibbons are pretty jumpy that's true

they are known for their ability to

swing from tree to tree so fast but more

about that later when we visit Billy and

Ruby's information center bye talk about

jumpy when the kidsong's kids wanted to

see more animals they took a hike to a

nearby petting zoo and they were

thrilled by the baby animals they found

there

this is going to be so good we're on

some very lucky kids songs kids had the

experience of a lifetime where they got

to play with baby Bengal tiger cubs

bengal tigers are a rare and endangered

species which means if we don't get busy

working to protect the places they live

there won't be any of them left which

would be a terrible thing we need to do

everything we can to look after the

world's animals we sure do Ruby

especially the white tigers there are

none left in the wild but we do have one

Ruby what other information can we help

bears well it says here that all bears

are mammals what's a mammal an animal

that is born live from its mom and

drinks milk from her ooh

different kinds of bears the biggest the

Kodiak is 9 ft tall that's taller than

me and Brooke put together wow casey the

our wonderful staff have been working

together researching animals and we

found some very interesting things about

them and Billy and Ruby are going to

present them right now welcome to our

to find out more about these amazing

animals you've been seeing in our music

all live this is a map of the whole

world our friends the Bengal Tigers live

in the forest of Asia do you know that

tigers are cats who love to swim how

funny swimming cats their cousin the

good old pet house cat doesn't like to

swim no no no not at all now let's talk

about llamas they live in South America

over here they are strong and the people

who live high up in the Andes Mountains

over here in Peru use them to carry

things up the steep hillsides you might

have noticed that the llamas look a lot

like camels that's because they're close

relatives part of the same family the

camels live way over here in North

Africa Arabia and Southeast Asia while

their cousins the llamas can live at

very high altitudes the camels are able

to survive in harsh deserts going

without water for days wow

Billy start to wrap it up we only have

you notice those cute little fenic foxes

with the big ears like ours they live in

the deserts of North Africa too because

the sand gets so hot they have furry

pads on the bottom of their feet furry

paws how cute and how

practical there are at least a million

more things we could learn about animals

canine companion Tracy tracy a very

skilled golden retriever was trained by

Allison Wot who is also joining us today

and Allison and this must be Tracy uhhuh

lindsay how long have you had Tracy

about eight months so do you like having

her yes I do she at school she helped me

make friends by people coming over to

say hello to her that also say hello to

me and she likes me no matter what

happens she um she's always there to

cheer me up when I'm feeling down and

she helps me feel more independent

that's awesome so what does she do for

you she'll pick up things for me open a

door and tug off my sock at night cool

alison can you tell us about K9

Companions for Independence sure cci is

a nonprofit organization that trains

dogs like Tracy to help people live more

independent lives how does the program

work well we start out with the dogs at

8 weeks of age and they get adopted to

foster families who take care of them

for the first year of their life and

then what happens and then they go

through an intensive two to three week

training where we match the students

with the dogs that's team training and

the students have to learn how to care

for the dogs how to get the dogs to work

for them and the dogs have to learn how

to work for different people too can you

show us some of the tricks Tracy does
