Shyro Hagen has emerged victorious from

a duel to the death with his former

teacher at the Space Academy, Captain

Carter. Conscience stricken,

Shyro faces the birth of a new year in

space aboard X-b*mber light years from

Earth.

Captain Carter.

Cheer up, Shiro. It's New Year's Day.

Today we're going to celebrate, including

you. New Year's Day. It seems a

Millennium since we last celebrated New

Year's Day. I cook some soup using

artificial protein. Don't know what it

tastes like, but at least it looks good.

Soup. Well, looks almost good enough to

eat. You could have been a chef, Lee.

One of the many things I excel in.

With my usual modesty, I didn't expect to

be eating soup on New Year's Day, the far

end of the universe, but I can't help

thinking of the Earth.

Our solar system was at peace at that

time. We'd had no experience of w*r

yet, but we underwent rigorous training.

Carter taught me to be alert at alltimes.

Academy and took that post on Pluto. Did

he foresee the invasion?

The enemy force came out of the Thalian

zone and attacked our peaceful solar

system, destroying the Pluto Alpha base.

They then threatened the Earth Defense

Forces, demanding the mysterious F01. Our

only hope is the X project. Contact our

moon base. Yes, Sir.

Contact Doctor Bennett Moonbase. Yes,

Sir. Starfleet Command then ordered a

not yet completed X b*mber to come to its

defense. So there we were on

Moonbase, 3 raw pilots without battle

experience, and thought we were unequal

to the task ahead. It is your

will that must take defeat and forge it

into victory. If the challenge of the

Carter. The guy's kind of free with that

refused to be left behind and rushed to

join us?We'd come under heavy

attack from the Imperial Alliance and had

first time that we'd met them face to

face.

We must get there.

shield.

I want X b*mber destroyed. It is merely a

battle cruiser. No match for our

Imperial warship.

Be assured, we'll be back.

By using the X Impulse, we were able to

save Planet Earth from destruction. The

Earth Defense Forces sent out a convoy of

transport cruisers loaded with

replacements to rebuild the badly

damaged. Pluto Alpha base. But they all

disappeared mysteriously, so we were

asked to escort the next convoy.

When we did eventually arrive at the

Pluto base, there was no sign of our

former instructor, Captain Carter.

So we went to look for him.

You made a search everywhere.

Hercules and I were convinced he was

dead. Little did we know he'd been

captured and brainwashed by the Alliance.

It wasn't long after that that Lamia was

contacted by a mysterious call, summoning

her to a rendezvous in space.

We set off in Dayaks to find her.

We must find Lamia at all cost and bring

her back.

There it is. The sailing ship is

calling me.

Something's wrong with the engine.

It's no use. I can't reach her.

What can I do?

Lamia's call had come from a mysterious

sailing ship called the Skull. We went to

her rescue. Lamia, we're pulling you

in. We were taking Lamia back to

the safety of X b*mber. When Commander

Makara attacked the skull,

the

skull will be destroyed. We must defendit,

right?Fire now.

Fire.

Commander Makara, we cannot win. We

suffered extensive damage. Power is

draining from main. Feels any well,

Orion. We will have to retreat this time.

Why did the mysterious sailing ship the

Skull seek out Lamia?Does it

hold the secret of the F01, which the

Imperial Alliance are so desperate to

possess?The mystery deepened when the

skull vanished without trace beyond our

solar system.

We began our search for the skull. Little

did we know that Commander Makara had

prepared a trap for us.

Commander Makara, X b*mber is approaching

Jupiter. Good. They've fallen into a

trap. Quantum speed!

We've discovered, while protecting the

transport ships, that the Imperial

Alliance for constructing a secret base

on Jupiter, ready to strike at the Earth.

Hercules?Yeah. Lee?Okay. We'll give them

a display of the Diax powers. Let's go!

once we destroyed the Alliance's base on

Jupiter. We continued our quest for the

skull and found ourselves being pulled

into one of the black holes of space.

We're being drawn into the vortex.

While the X-b*mber drifts helplessly

without power, we can destroy her

easily.

Lee. Sector 7 Quadrant. I make it 2

enemy ships traveling quantum speed. All

power to main Shields. Lasers ready to

fire. Right. Stand by to blast. Lasers

Divisiman, you must quickly.

Orion, they have defeated you once again.

You are a fool. Yes, Commander, I You

have disgraced the alliance. Return to

the battle cruiser. Yes, Commander, I

am sorry.

Retreat. Doctor, they're

retreating.

Hey, we did it. We're out of the black

hole.

Severe damage confirmed, Doctor. We need

to repair the ship. Planet in lower

quadrant. Appears suitable for life

This was our first encounter with the

enemy's new commander. Yeah, we've been

brainwashed by the Alliance.

know it was Lamia who was contacted and

tried to join the sailing ship. The

Doctor, you're in no position to bargain.

You have no alternatives. If you do not

respond, we will attack. Oh, yeah. The

trees are wrapped around us like an

octopus. We're still being held. Doctor.

Now it was our turn to attack.

Lucky for us, we made our escape only

seconds before the molten lava covered

the sea of trees where we had been

trapped. We were

successful in damaging the battle

cruiser, which was forced to retreat.

That familiar voice that had threatened

and taunted us preyed on my mind.

Finally, I realized who it had to be.

Then I knew it was Captain Carter we were

up against. He was in command of the

Imperial Alliance attack. That's right.

Those tactics were right out of the

Academy manual. He had been brainwashed

by that Commander Makara and forced to

turn on his own race and friends.

We got a. Face it, guys. The

Captain Carter we knew and loved died on

Pluto Alpha Base



Captain Carter, you were always my hero

at the Academy.

He had given me no choice. It was my life

or his. Shiro,

good sh**ting. I

had destroyed the man who had taught me

everything.

In their different ways, Captain Carter

and Shiro Hagen were both victims of the

Imperial Alliance in its desperate search

for the F01. Now

Shyro is more determined than ever to

resist the implacable enemy.
