As you all know,

there's a major drought
affecting all the Fruitdoms.

That means there's not enough water
to make plants grow,

and that's bad for both
our people and our animals.

So I wanna experiment new ways
to save water with science!

Sounds marvelous, Penny.

Your science skills
are impeccable.

You even scienced up Hermie

to serve Royal Tea
with conservation in mind.

Instead of a whole cup of tea,
he serves one teaspoonful.

[Hermie swooshing]

Thanks, Hermie, dear.

[Fussy meows]

[Hermie swooshes]

[Fussy meows, licks]

That's right.
Hermie was an experiment too.

And you know what they say:

"There are no bad
experiments, big or small.

A scientist's job is
to learn from 'em all!"

So now I present
my new experiment.

Behold! The Precipitation Station.

If my calculations are right,

it'll pull water vapor from
the air and rain the water out!

-[remote twinkles]
-[machine whooshing]

Oh, whoa!
Penny, I am not water vapor.

I know, but my machine doesn't.

Looks like my Precipitation
Station's a bust.

Sorry!

[Busyboots sighs]

Thank you, Penny.

[sighs] Now while you
keep experimenting,

I will inform the Pineapple-ites

that we can all use less water.

We'll keep working
together as a community

until it rains again.

After all, we can't
change the weather.

What if I can
change the weather?

[Precipitation Station rumbling]

[gasps] It's a
Crystal Key Quest clue

from the Princess
Adventure Academy!

Time to put a pineapple
pin in my experiments

and rally the princess squad!

Princesses, I made
a Precipitation Station

that didn't work to help our drought.
But look what it sent us!

[gasps] It's a sparkleseed!

With a cute-tastic little
Crystal Key inside!

It's little all right. Way too tiny
to be a real Crystal Key.

-What do we do with it?
-Let's think.

It's a sparkleseed, so maybe
we're supposed to plant it.

And hypothesis:

whatever it grows into
will lead us to the real key!

Then let's go gardening!

What's the hold-up?

The hold-up is the dry-up.
We can't plant anything

when there's
a four-Fruitdom drought.

Seeds need water to sprout

and it doesn't feel right to use
any spare water for this.

[sighs] I know, but how in sequins

do we grow this clue
without using any water?

Same way I've been doing all day!
We experiment and figure out

how to make the water
we need with science!

So when we succeed,

we'll save the Clue Quest
and our Fruitdoms!

Science for the win!

We Pinkie-Tea Promise
to help those in need.

[all] With our Princess Power,
we'll always succeed!

[energetic music]

To the Punchbowl Island Gardens!

[tropical music]

-One small seed for us...
-Will hopefully grow into

one normal-sized
Crystal Key for our quest.

Now, I've been close to creating water,
but just can't get my calculations right.

Anybody have any other ideas?

I've got it!
We're surrounded by ocean.

There's plenty of water
everywhere.

[water splashes]

See? Problem solved...
and you're welcome.

I don't think that'll work.

Ocean water is salty,
and salt hurts some seeds.

We should water our seed
with fresh water, just in case.

Agreed and already on it!

True story: boiling water is a great way
to get rid of germs.

So my hypothesis is
it'll get rid of salt too.

-[alarm clock ringing]
-[Fussy screams]

[grunts] Thanks for
the heads up, Fussy.

Time for a taste test
experiment.

I'll do it!

[slurps] Blegh!
Gutterball!

It went from cold salty sea water
to hot salty tea water!

So the experiment failed,

but we learned we need another way
to get rid of the salt.

Oh, oh, oh!
What if we filter out the salt

by running the seawater
through fabric?

Then the fabric
can catch the salt!

Now we just pour in
a little bit of salty water.

And in a second...

Maybe another second...

Two seconds more...

[ticking clock music]

[seagull squawking]

[ticking clock music continues]

[water drops]

And voila!

Hmm. It tastes like freshwater!

Yay!

But nay for the fact
it takes forever to get one tiny drop.

It's more likely to rain again before
we can filter enough water

to plant our
sparkleseed this way.

Ooh, inspiration!
What about Hermie?

You scienced him up
to make snow before,

-and snow is frozen water.
-[squeaks and chitters]

[Fussy meows]

I'm with Fussy.

Hermie made too much snow.

[Hermie buzzing]

He froze the whole
Kiwi Fruitdom!

That was a total frosty fail.

No way can I risk
messing up like that again.

But, Penny, isn't risk part of science?

Like you said, "There are no

That's right! And if you learn from
your mistake and succeed,

that's a major skill sparkle-up.

And that's exactly what

to guide Rita to
the perfect spot for you

to drop the water on
the sparkleseed pot.

they're up in the air.

-Up, up, and fashionably away!

[flying teacup whirring]

Okay, this is good.
We'll hover here.

Are we in a good spot?

A little to the left.

[flying teacup whirring]

Now a little to the right.

And stop!

Make it rain, Penny!

Hypothesis: when I press this button,

Hermie will make rain.

[controller beeping]

[Hermie blasting]

-Macarons?

[Fussy meowing]

It's not water

but at least these macrons
are right and fluffy.

Right, Mr. Scrumples?

[Mr. Scrumples squeaking and chittering]

Hypothesis: a few more adjustments

and Hermie will stop making
macarons and start making rain.

[controller beeping]

[Hermie buzzing]

Sequined suspenders!
What is happening?

So many sugar cubes!

Take cover, my Teenykins!

Ah, ah, oh, no!

Oh, no, they're everywhere!
Ah!

he's going through the whole tea service!

What'll he do next?

I'm having trouble making
the right adjustments to his control.

Good thing tea service is almost over.
Except for...

Hypothesis: if I can't stop Hermie
from finishing his tea party,

then maybe I can get tea
on the sparkleseed!

Fantabulous!
Tea's made with water!

[tense music]

[controller beeps]

[Hermie blasts]

Penny did it!
She got Hermie to water the sparkleseed!

And rain down a mess,
but a win is a win.

Did we water the sparkleseed?

It did! Now we just have to wait
for the sparkleseed to grow.

[Fussy yawns]

-[Fussy meows]
-[tea cup breaking]

Anybody know
how long the wait takes?

True story: it can take weeks
for a seed to sprout a new plant.

And in the meantime,

I didn't turn Hermie into
a rain-making machine at all.

The only thing I sparkled up
is a majorly monumental mess.

Hey, don't stop the game
on the count of rain.

Or in this case, no rain.

Yeah, it's like you said,

Exactly! And that means you can learn
something from this mess

that'll give you a bedazzlous
idea for what to try next.

The sparkleseed grew
spectaculaciously tall!

It's not how I thought
my experiment would go,

but still a science success!

Now where's that Crystal Key?

-I don't see it.

Maybe it's all the way
at the top.

Princesses, prepare to climb!
[grunting]

Bea: zero.

It is slippery.

But if we had sticky pads
on our hands and feet,

like tree frogs,
we could climb anything!

Super sticky tree frog
resin comin' right up.

Rita, can you fashion
us up some gloves

-I can dip in the resin?
-Fabsolutely.

Prepare to be smitten with
my fashionable mittens.

[backpacks shuffling]

Okay!

You can tackle this Hermie tea party
mess while we're gone.

Whoa, it's the Crystal Key!

But it's inside the
closed flower bud.

How do we get it out?

No prob.
I've got this.

[knuckles cracking]

[grunting]

Actually, I need a little help.

[all grunting]

[Mr. Scrumples squeaking]

[all grunting]

[sighs] It's no use.

This bud won't budge!

Hmm.

If my science sense is correct,

the only way we'll open
this bud and get the key

is if we water the flower.

But that means we're right
back to our no-water problem.

Bee stings!

Why would the Headmistress
send us a sparkleseed

leading to a key if we
weren't meant to get it?

-[tense music]
-She wouldn't.

Princesses, when I was down,
you reminded me

So if we want to free the key,

we just need to try
more experiments.

Yes! And each one will get us closer
to something that'll work.

Okay, but what do we try?

We can't just pull an
experiment out of thin air.

[cloud grumbling]

Actually, we can.

None of my experiments with
the Precipitation Station,

salt water,
or Weather Hermie worked,

but they all lead us up here,
close to the clouds!

And clouds carry water vapor!

My first Precipitation Station
wasn't near the clouds but now, behold!

A squeeze horn?

It was a squeeze horn.

I scienced it up to make a new
and improved Precipitation Station!

Now we'll grab some water from the cloud
by squeezing it into the horn.

Boost me up to the cloud?

[cloud bubbling]

[horn squeezing]

-Sounds watery to Bea!
-Let's see if it worked.

Another squeeze and the water
vapor I collected inside

should come out as...

[water pouring]

-Water!
-Water!

[flower sparkling]

-The Crystal Key!
-The Crystal Key!

Penny, you did it!
You tried all kinds of experiments

until you learned enough to
sparkle up your science skills

and get us the Crystal Key.

And even more bedazzlous,

you figured out
how to get water,

even during the drought!

Think you could science up
squeeze horns

-to water all the Fruitdoms?
-I can do better than that.

Now that I've learned how to make
the Precipitation Station work,

I can turn Hermie into
a Precipitation Station

and use him to water
all the Fruitdoms.

And we can build water towers
at each Fruitdom

where we'll save water
for whenever we need it.

to beanstalk-in-the-sky heights!
