There was a concert here last
night, a few hundred people.

The staff didn't clear out
till 2:00 a.m.

That doesn't add up.
The mines got here somehow.

We need answers.

You know, it's not a great day
to be riding a man down.

We could call Gamble.

I know she's been using vacation days

while she figures things out but...

There ain't nothing to figure out.

Her transfer was approved this morning.

Gamble's officially
headed back to Oakland.

She leaves tomorrow.

I already gave the commander

a list of candidates to replace her.

near the park from this morning.

dropping the mines...

They could be planted anywhere.

This was just sent to the local news.

Rykov got too popular,

butted heads with the Kremlin
and they sent him into exile.

Well, I guess he got lucky.

Last month, the Agency got a tip

Rykov was on a flight leaving Thailand.

We had it rerouted to L.A.,
arrested him here.

Well, none of that info was
in the interagency database.

Because we didn't want anyone to know.

Looks like your secret is out.

We suspect the men in that
video are members of Red Sword,

Rykov's private army.

They stayed behind in Russia

when Rykov left, but clearly,
their loyalty stayed with him.

Well, then we need to talk to Rykov.

If his men are behind this,

he may have some valuable intel

we can use to track them down.

That's exactly why my bosses
sent me down here,

to tell you not to worry.

Red Sword is our problem.

Hold on. They've blanketed
Los Angeles with landmines.

That makes them our problem, too.

So focus your efforts
on finding the mines,

keeping your citizens safe.

Rykov is our best chance at doing that.

ahead of her family.

her own judgment anymore.

team leader to set her straight.

What the hell are you

I know about the prisoner exchange.

The CIA's handing Rykov
back over to Russia.

Last year, a group of U.S. aid workers

on a humanitarian mission were
grabbed at the Russian border.

They've been rotting
in a prison cell ever since,

for no reason beyond political capital.

Once we got Rykov, we knew we had a fish

big enough to trade and get them back.

Rykov's still got enemies back home.

The Russians only want him
so they can lock him up

and throw away the key.

That's why Red Sword's been going
to extreme lengths to rescue him.

That's exactly why
we can't let them delay the swap.

This exchange is too important.

We're talking about ten
innocent American lives.

When's the exchange happening?

Two days. But we're moving
Rykov to a new black site.

If Red Sword knows about the swap,

his current location may be compromised.

Look, I appreciate the ten lives
you're looking to save,

but I've got potentially
thousands at risk.

I ran the serial numbers off the mines

the b*mb squad pulled from the park.

They tie to an a*mo depot that
was robbed in Eastern Europe.

They're an advanced type of petal mine.

They can be dropped from on high

and have the ability to burrow
themselves into the ground,

making them almost invisible.

Red Sword has turned L.A.
into a b*ttlefield.

How do we find them?

We might not be able to see the mines,

but we can sure as hell see
the drones deploying them.

Starting with the park
downtown, I went through

every bit of footage
I can get my hands on.

Every video I found with even a glimpse

of the drone in the background,

I marked on the map.

The last angle shows them

touching down in Eagle Rock,

but the camera was too far
away to tell which building.

Pull up Matsnev.

It's the guy that Tan's
buddy gave up this morning.

He's an ambitious Russian.

He's got something to gain
by working with Red Sword.

POWELL: Looks like Matsnev owns

a furniture warehouse in Eagle Rock.

Could be where the drones are.

Might even be where
Red Sword is hiding out.

We got no time to lose.

DEACON: LAPD!

- Hands where we can see them!

touched down here last night.

crate until we find them.

in addition to the petal mines,

Red Sword has high-potency
impact charges,

similar to the ones
you'd find in an RPG,

except with a lot more
bang for the buck.

Deac, if they attached

one of those impact charges
to a drone...

They'd basically have
an improvised m*ssile

that could take out a moving target.

HONDO: Listen, Rykov.

The people of this city got

nothing to do with you
or your problems back home,

yet they're being k*lled and maimed.

Innocent people paying the price

for the desires of the powerful

probably pilot the drones

And Ilyan wouldn't stop
with targeting Red Sword.

to make a push through the main entry.
