This is my worst nightmare.
It's obvious everyone's in it for
themselves now.
these 12 strangers from across
Britain arrived in South Africa.
Stripped of all creature comforts,
they're being tested in the hostile
environment of the Eastern Cape.
Push!
It's cold!
On an unforgiving 18 day trek...
Oh, my God!
..to win a share of 300 grand.
But standing between them and
the money,
we've built a series of
incredible temptations...
Guys, there's hot water.
..with the world's highest prices.
3,000 per double bed.
It's a lot.
And every pound they spend will be
deducted from the shared prize pot.
I'm not sleeping in a three grand
bed. I'm built different.
I doubt it.
We live in a world where we can get
what we want
the second we want it.
So, can we put off our immediate
desires for the sake of a longer
term goal?
I need something to get me
through this.
Would you give into peer pressure?
It's not a weakness to take it,
it's a strength.
Or temptation?
Welcome to the dark side.
We leave no man behind!
Previously on Tempting Fortune...
I don't enjoy struggling.
I'd rather take the easy route.
..they've trekked for two weeks...
I can see a temptation.
..with half the group
embracing temptations...
I say yes!
..blowing nearly 29 grand of the
shared prize money on themselves.
If the other six could see me now,
they'd be disgusted in me.
And every penny they've spent...
I want a milkshake.
..has caused outrage with the other
members of the group.
The money you're spending is not
your money, it's everybody's money.
Life's more important than money.
Every time things get tough,
they take the easy way out.
We've taken it. You're joking.
Charlie's beating up the buckets.
He's annoyed! You've just spent
ten grand.
What reaction do you want from him?
I've just realised now, it's
definitely, like, two teams.
And yesterday...
Oh, it's party night.
..the divided group discovered our
c*ck bar temptation.
I'll have a very large glass
of that.
With Lani, Dee and Michelle going on
a spending spree.
You need to put yourself first
and stop thinking about what
everybody else thinks about you.
Michelle is one of the most
selfish people
I've ever met in my entire life.
To taking temptations.
Now, with just four days to go to
the finish line and money,
everything is about to change.
Shut up!
Oh, my God!
I'm trying to remember everything
from last night.
I'm definitely not in the mood for
rice and beans today. Urgh.
Last night's c*ck wiped
£900 from the shared prize fund,
reigniting tensions in the camp.
Unfortunately, I still feel they're
a bit selfish,
and I think as people just keep
continuing to take from the prize
money, I'll just get more and
more annoyed.
I may not speak to them.
I said good morning to Tahira,
and she just kept walking like
I wasn't there.
I'm like, OK.
Michelle, who's been very happy to
spend the group money
and to encourage others to spend
the group money as well -
what kind of person does that?
When I heard them, they'll
be like,
"Well, it's not costing me
a thousand.
"It's costing me less than £100."
For example, cos, literally, they
were dividing it by 12.
Would they have spent that money if
it was their own?
But because it's the group's money,
it's easier for them to spend it
and they spend it without care.
That makes me sick.
I genuinely feel like this side of
the team have done it better.
Struggled through it,
but also had some great experiences,
as well.
If the hotel was just my own money,
I don't know how much I would have
taken it.
We don't have to, like, suffer
through this.
They seem miserable.
Tahira said that she wants to come
out of here with the most amount of
money and I was just thinking, "I
wanna come out of here with the best
"experience without my fun being
sucked from me."
Yeah. It goes both ways.
Yeah.
Because people have different takes
on it, we've come to conflict.
We don't agree and we're
not budging.
The fortune seekers are more divided
than ever before
between those who want to spend and
those who refuse.
With their money only four days
away, could anything sway
the non-spenders?
Well, what about something you can't
get back at home?
The greatest adventure of them all,
an all-inclusive luxury safari.
The perfect chance to spot some of
South Africa's big five.
But with a price tag of 1,500
per person,
who will be tempted?
Ooh. What is that?
Oh, my goodness!
Oh, no.
Well, here we go.
Oh, is it like a safari?
Oh, that's cute.
Well, Nana. I know.
I have always wanted to go on
a safari.
All the guys here have always known.
It's stunning. Giraffes,
zebras, monkeys.
Oh, my God.
Beautiful. That's a dream, isn't it,
to do that in South Africa?
But the book of temptations has
a surprise in store.
I'm gonna read this.
Oh, my God.
Currently, all purchases reduce the
group's total prize money,
but now any future purchases by an
individual will come from their
remaining personal share.
Oh.
The experiment f*cking grows.
I didn't see that coming.
Big time, big time game-changer.
And today is the best day.
Now any money you spend comes out
of your own personal pocket
and no longer out the whole kitty of
the 12.
There's only one person who probably
wouldn't wanna do this.
I think on an experimental level,
on a scientific level,
it's interesting to see now if those
people who were spending will
still spend.
I would love to just spend my
own money.
I just don't want to keep getting,
like, the stink eye.
The tension has been built up so
much in the past few days
and now we get to do whatever we
want with our own money.
I just want everybody to be happy.
But I'm not sure what's gonna
happen, to be honest.
I think people like Michelle who are
so openly happy
to spend the group's money,
I don't think she will be happy to
spend that same type of money
knowing that it comes out of
her pocket.
Shall we find out how much the
safari is?
1,500 per person.
I don't think it's worth it.
Michelle don't wanna do it now.
Hey, Michelle don't wanna do it now.
It's shameful.
It shows what kind of person
someone is.
Had it been the group's money,
Michelle would have been on
that safari.
I feel like people are gonna
judge me,
particularly Charlie and James are
gonna be thinking,
and even maybe Tahira,
"Oh, she's not gonna spend as much
because it's her money now."
I know I'm gonna be observing people
and just seeing how the pattern of
spend is gonna change.
Right, guys, who's on the
safari, then?
I am. I'm gonna do that.
Yeah. That's always what I wanted
to do and see.
I'm gonna go as well.
Anybody else?
Yeah, I'll go with you.
Oh, Dan.
Is anybody else gonna take it?
It's always been like James says,
Luke says,
the Wolf Boys are not gonna
spend anything.
Whereas, really, I think some of
them really wanted to
but were too scared to go up against
the peer pressure.
Do you know what, I'd love to go
with you, Carolynne, I really would.
It's one of... Definitely something
I really wanted to do,
but I'll come back another time.
It's your money, though.
That's what the experiment
wants, mate.
I don't think I'd excuse anyone for
giving in on this challenge.
Yo, if they're folding for something
really basic and weak, that's whack.
After everything I've just said, I
really can't fold, you know.
It's unfair.
Seriously, I've talked the talk now.
I can't take a temptation.
By taking the safari, Dan, Dee and
Carolynne have reduced their
individual prize funds by
£1,500 each.
I need to walk away.
I need to walk on my own for a
sec, bruv.
The safari was good value, I think,
for money.
Bye!
I feel like if I take the
temptation, I've lost,
but the person I am is screaming to
come out.
Oh, look, look, look.
Ooh.
Over there, over there.
Wow.
You'd hope the whole money situation
will mean there'll be less arguments
now, right? Yeah.
Less guilt about taking temptations,
less peer pressure.
No-one can say, "Well, you're
spending all our money."
I think it also gives permission for
the non-spenders
to actually spend money now.
Yeah.
This is exceeding my expectations.
I'm so glad I took the temptation.
Those at camp must wait for the
safari-takers to return,
so no trekking today.
However, tonight, the c*ck bar
opens again
and they must decide whether to
spend from their own money or not.
Me, Charlie and Luke,
we all decided from the time we
started this experiment,
we would not take any temptations
and no matter what anybody
else does,
we were always gonna stay true
to that.
You're so strong-willed that you're
not gonna give in to what this is,
what we've been through already.
I wanna beat the experiment just
like you
and why stop with three days
left, right?
The Wolf Pack is so far the group
that hasn't been tempted.
I need to get to the end of this
journey without taking
any temptations and that is that.
I'm trying to give myself some
cleavage so I can look sexy at
the bar. I'm just improvising.
I've been deprived of love this
whole time I've been here,
so I'm going for like a cute, sexy
slash slutty look.
Right, that will do.
I have to look like a slapper.
Obviously, I ain't got any
curly rollers,
so I've got toilet roll as
my rollers.
And everyone's laughing at me,
but wait until they see that I'm the
hottest b*tch at the c*ck bar.
I've been strong. I've been loyal to
the team.
Now that I know our money's
our money,
I'm gonna go and have a fun night
and be drunk.
Yes. The c*ck bar is open, guys!
It's open now?
Lovely.
Drinks tonight are priced at 300
per c*ck
and 200 each for all other drinks.
But how much are they willing to
spend now it's from their
personal share?
To health, wealth and temptations.
Darlings!
Hello, ladies. Hello.
How are you?
Porn star martini, ASAP.
Porn star.
That's my money now. I've done it -
I've done the loyalty thing, I've
done the love thing.
I ain't spent a penny.
Now, I don't see it as a temptation,
I see it as in I'm buying what I
want.
Can I have a wine? Thank you.
The reason I decided to take a
temptation when I did is cos I
felt that I had achieved what
I wanted to do.
Experiences don't have to be a
specific thing.
Everything that we're doing, to me,
is a once in a lifetime experience.
Oh, my God, yes, thank you.
To your first temptation.
Cheers!
Since the rules changed, two members
of James' group have succumbed
to temptation.
But Charlie is determined to resist.
And especially after I turned down
a safari.
I feel like I'd have to be a mug to
break on a beer.
Darlings, tonight's gonna be wild,
we've got 20 grand to blow.
Pride's the frustrating thing.
I've got too much pride to go back
on my word,
but I am only human, you know what
I mean?
I love to party, so tonight is
gonna be hard.
I'm gonna have a look, man.
Yeah, I need to do something, I'm
losing my head.
Who's the most likely to blow all
their money tonight?
Michelle!
Ah, you know it!
Is this where the party's at? Yeah.
Yeah!
Where's the beer? How much is it?
200. Just get one.
You deserve it, baby.
Do you reckon though?
Me and Charlie, we believe
we're unbreakable.
We believe we are built different,
no matter what that temptation is.
So, wait, so 200, 400, 500, six.
600 on three beers?
£600.
Charlie. Listen, we've done so
much, like.
I know but £600 on...
Just go and spend a grand.
I adore Charlie,
but I almost feel like he's a puppet
and then I feel like James and Luke
are the puppeteers.
He's torn.
Stop thinking about it and
enjoy yourself!
Let me just check.
I don't know. I don't know.
The c*ck bar's been open for a
few hours now
and the bill's already up to 2,000.
But is the barman about to get a
new customer?
600 on three beers.
£600.
You've done it, it's your money.
You reckon? Yeah.
I know what I'm doing, yeah.
Boss man, I'll have three, you know.
Ah.
Did you ever think you'd see me in
here, yeah?
Never. How does it feel?
Honestly, because you have been so
hard on yourself, I feel.
And others.
For the duration, yeah.
I kind of just thought, "f*ck
the experiment."
Do you know what I mean, like?
I'm not gonna be conflicted.
Cheers to that, yeah!
Welcome to the temptation g*ng.
Best one here, mate.
Aww.
I'm gonna get pissed.
Yeah!
The group have no idea how much is
left in their prize pots
and will only know at the
finish line.
So far, the spenders risk going home
with significantly less than those
resisting temptations.
It's day 16.
In 48 hours, the group will collect
what's left of their prize fund.
But Charlie's share is now
£600 lighter
after giving in to his
first temptation.
f*ck!
f*ck.
He thinks he's failed cos he had
a temptation.
What a weirdo.
I'm just a failure.
I feel like I've failed myself
and I wanted to succeed in refusing
all temptations.
I want Charlie to understand it's OK
to maybe fall short of a goal that
you've set.
Cos in life, you're gonna fall
short sometimes.
But at least try, give 100%
and if you fail, you fail.
I don't know if it's healthy
to be this, like, competitive with
yourself sometimes, to push yourself
to the brink of frustration.
In my head, I feel like I've failed
my objective.
The group are only ten miles from
the finish line,
but it'll be the most difficult
terrain of their 18 day trek.
Here we go.
Mountains and a dry river bed
that looks like its gonna be
a b*tch.
Today, they have miles of
unforgiving bush land and
mountain paths.
Worst still, they will need to trek
deep into the night
in order to make up the time lost on
the safari.
And if the trek doesn't push them to
their limit,
the wildlife lurking in the
dark might.
I get the sense we'll all just a
bit flat.
We're exhausted now.
We all need a shot of glucose.
Let's do this.
Ah, I just can't wait to take a
proper shower.
I'm so disgusting right now.
I'm normally a bit disgusting
but this is...
Gross disgusting. Yeah. Yeah.
The group have been washing with
cold water from a plastic bucket for
16 days now.
They're hot, they're sweaty, and
they're hungover.
But we've got the perfect tonic to
help them out.
A steaming hot bubble bath, complete
with luxury products on tap.
Plus, the bonus of a lift to catch
up on the trek.
The price - a bargain at £100
per bath.
Temptation?
Uh-huh.
I do miss a hot bath.
Previously, people would spend money
and say it's a once in a lifetime
opportunity knowing that it
come out the group's pot.
So, now that that has changed, will
they now spend when it's coming
out of their own money?
We're looking at a bath for 100.
Once in a lifetime, once in
a lifetime!
To be fair, though,
when are you actually gonna bath at
the top of a mountain in South Affi?
That's what I said, once in
a lifetime.
Are you gonna take this once in a
lifetime opportunity,
once in a lifetime?
Don't say it like that.
With James keep going, "It's once in
a lifetime." Very sarcastic.
It's almost like reverse
peer pressure.
I'm gonna do it.
Good for you, you enjoy it.
Anybody else? It's once in
a lifetime.
I'm not gonna do it.
Michelle for one, who took every
single temptation, now won't say,
"Well, it's a once in a
lifetime opportunity."
She won't use that excuse.
It's a totally different story.
Babes, I'm doing it.
Good girl!
I wanna say me too, as well.
We'll split it three ways.
Come on, then.
At £100 for one bath,
Trewley, Jack and Lani will each
lose just over £33 from their
prize money.
Let's go then, let's leave these
guys here.
Let's leave them to it. Bye, losers!
Let's get naked!
Oh, mate, that's so ridiculous.
I said to her 50 times, if it was
our money,
she would have took that sh*t in
a heartbeat.
Unbelievable.
James and Luke, whatever the f*ck
they're called, Wolf Pack,
they, like, wanna see if, like, I'll
spend my own money, which I have.
I went to the c*ck bar.
So, yeah, this is the thing,
I'm just gonna do me
and they can do their childish act
all they want.
It's not worth my words or
my breath.
Have you got the soap? Pass
the soap.
Pass the soap, I can barely move.
Yeah, I wanna put it in my armpits
cos they stink.
Oh!
I've got two beautiful girls soaping
me up.
I never thought this would happen.
It's a weird roller-coaster of
emotions, this place, innit?
No sh*t. Like, tell me about it.
Just try not to get wrapped up in
your head
in, like, these negative thoughts.
You never know whatever the next
temptation is.
We only have a few days. Yeah, yeah.
Do what makes you happy, right?
I know, yeah. Because I just don't
want you to regret again.
The more I think about it, yeah,
the more I have been a bit mad hard
on myself.
Do you know what? After being so
loyal for weeks, I'm over it.
I've had enough of the walking. Too
blessed to be stressed.
I'd rather sit here and bath.
OK, wait, I'm getting out.
Jack has amazing sensitivity.
Ah!
Smelling as fresh as a daisy...
Yay.
..the bathers now have the luxury of
a lift...
Oh, my God! Hi!
..to catch up with their team-mates
on the trek.
Hi. We missed you.
OK, smell us.
Babe, you can lick us we're
that clean.
The group still have three miles
to go before reaching their
penultimate camp checkpoint.
And with sunset fast approaching,
they must hike the final stretch in
the dark.
If there are any spirits here,
make yourself known.
Bloody hell.
It's like we've been walking for
hours and hours
and hours and it's just like
there's no end in sight.
SCREAMS
Oh, my God.
For f*ck's sake!
What?
There is a monkey!
Or a baboon or a pig!
Stop screaming.
For f*ck's sake, honestly.
What a load of sh*t.
I just wanna go to bed.
Can we try and find the front of
this friggin' tent?
Oh, f*ck, I'm so tired,
I can't even think.
Urgh.
It's been probably the hardest 24
hours that I've had since
I've been in this experiment.
You're wired all the time here,
whether you're worrying about food,
the trek, other people arguing, and
it just doesn't end.
I can see and taste the
finishing line.
We're just not there quite yet.
I feel absolutely battered.
There's no need to walk at night.
No. It was awful.
So, the map today.
Wait, is that over a mountain?
Over it.
Today, they face miles of
mountainous trekking through dense
bush to reach their final camp and
the special temptation.
They've yet to take a temptation as
a whole group.
We're offering them the opportunity
to celebrate just how far
they've come...
..with a spectacular last supper,
complete with all-you-can-eat barbie
and booze.
Their lakeside feast will cost them
a grand each.
But now they're paying for
it themselves.
After everything they've endured,
will they all celebrate together
and take the hit from their
prize money?
Thank you.
I wished we'd never argued so much.
Today, I hope the group
come together.
I don't think anybody
wants toxicity.
Oh, my God, look.
That lake looks beautiful.
Look at that water.
Oh, wow.
I can see a pink flamingo!
The group have arrived at their
final camp,
and with it, an epic temptation.
Now this, darling, is a bit of me.
There's white wine on ice.
As the adventure draws to a close,
who will be swayed into taking one
of the last temptations?
Welcome to the farewell party! Woo!
Sizzling barbecue,
all-inclusive food and drinks,
preceded by exclusive access to the
freshwater lake.
£1,000 per person!
OK, so who's gonna take the
temptation?
Me. Me. I am.
Me. Me.
Me.
Charlie? Erm...
Half the group have spent £6,000
from their own prize pots.
Someone else answer.
I'm not, I'm not, because the food
will go straight through me,
so it'll be a waste.
It's just too much money.
I'm not taking it.
No.
I think it looks fantastic.
I hope you guys really, really
enjoy it.
Yeah, enjoy it. It looks beautiful.
Charlie.
Charlie?
Erm...
Charlie?
Run it up.
CHEERING
Luke and I,
we're a lot stronger than the
others,
and a lot stronger probably than
Charlie, mentally.
He gets into his own head.
I did come in here saying I'm
going to refuse all temptations,
but it's like, well, you know
what, man,
you may as well be the guy,
you know, that you were before.
That guy's not a bad guy.
He just likes to have fun.
Experience is for a lifetime.
Money runs out.
Ooh. Oh, my God.
This is lovely.
I think the non-takers don't know
how to have any fun.
I was gonna take it regardless, even
if it was ten grand.
While the party-goers work up an
appetite for the feast ahead,
the others can only watch.
Uh, right, groundsheet down.
Let's get the top up.
This lot, they're gonna come back
under the weather and
I want the tent up for them.
I'll do it myself. I don't mind.
It's almost as though the leader
does not have to do anything else
because he has led us through
that hike.
And I don't wanna waste any more
energy arguing with him to put up
a tent.
I'm really glad Charlie's doing it.
I think he needs a bit of fun,
loosen up a little bit.
Cheers to South Affi.
CHEERING
You should have heard them
over there.
"This is to having no willpower!"
Who do you think out of this whole
experiment has spent the most money?
Lani.
And who do you think has spent
the least?
Probably it's James and
Luke combined.
We could be here for a year, and
they'd still be...
Do you remember the secret
hot chocolate?
Yeah. Yeah.
I have a confession.
Oh, here we go, here we go.
No way, did you take it?
I took it!
Lani, no!
I lied!
How did you feel about Charlie going
in for that?
Some people are just stronger
mentally than others and can
handle situations.
He's a young kid, you know,
and he couldn't handle a lot of the
stuff and he was breaking down.
Did he ever say to you that he
was... He didn't wanna let you down
or was he disappointed?
No.
In my own eyes,
I thought you were a bit hard on the
others with the temptations.
Not taking them.
I've always told them if they wanted
to take it, take it.
Well, why do you think they
didn't take them, then?
Cos they chose not to?
When is it a crime to encourage
people not to quit on what they
initially said?
You've actually got a very
imposing personality.
In your voice was disappointment
and I think that's what some
of them... Of course.
If they were worried about
disappointing me,
that is not my fault.
I didn't instil that in them.
They have to make up their own mind.
I'm not their mommy and daddy.
I still think you needed to
be softer.
Well, I'm gonna disagree with you
cos I was not hard.
Did you guys almost feel like a
sense of like you couldn't take a
temptation because you felt guilty
because of other people?
It wasn't pressure but because my
loyalty was to all yous.
Now, the money's mine, I can spend
it how I want to,
so there's a difference.
For me, it was a prize fund and for
everyone to originally say
the 25 grand is my money was naive.
But they're on their own journey.
I would have loved every
single person here to enjoy this
feast tonight.
Yeah.
James kind of always spoke about us
all finishing
and crossing the finish line
together as a team.
And obviously, they haven't been
part of the team in a while.
I'm like, just come and enjoy
yourself for once.
I mean, this whole thing has been
so tough on all of us.
I don't feel ashamed that I'm not
over there enjoying it
because for the price that they're
paying, I can take me,
my daughter and seven or eight of my
friends to the best meal of their
life for a grand.
Some people are happy going home
with less money
but more experiences and some people
are going home
with less experiences and
more money.
James said when the money situation
changed, it'll be very interesting
to see who would still spend now
it's their money.
And I don't know who that was
directed to.
Me. Obviously me.
Michelle, I said that, though.
I'll be real,
I thought, "Maybe she's not gonna
spend now."
But you proved it wrong. Well done.
But that's what's annoyed me the
past few days is that James and
Luke, particularly, have been like,
"It's a once in a lifetime
experience!"
Clearly digging at Michelle.
Once in a lifetime! Once in
a lifetime.
In my opinion, it's been like
quite childish that people have...
Thank you.
And they kept repeating like, "It's
an once lifetime experience."
You know, OK, but like...
It is nonstop and it's making me
feel really uncomfortable
and I'm like, "You're grown a*s men.
Get over yourselves. Honestly."
I genuinely envisioned me, James and
Luke at the end of this hugging each
other saying, "Yo, we did it."
But I've done it in my own way.
I'm happy to be here.
It's the last night, I'm in
South Africa,
one of the most beautiful countries
I've ever been in.
I just wanna take some good away
from it.
Cheers!
After 17 days living in the wild,
battling unforgiving terrain...
..and wrestling with temptations...
..all 12 fortune seekers have made
it to the final day.
But they can't celebrate just yet
because the finish line and their
prize money
is still one really tough trek away.
Right. Wow.
The final map. Drum roll.
It looks like a huge mountain.
Of course it is. Of course it is.
Awaiting them is a challenging trek,
culminating in their steepest climb
yet, to the summit of Kudo Kopf,
where they'll discover how much each
of them will be taking home.
Well, we were never gonna make the
finish easy, were we?
Unless, of course, they're willing
to part with some cash.
Oh.
Hello!
It's Paddy!
Hold on.
Guys, look what's in his hands.
Not another bloody book
of temptations.
Oh, no.
Oh, I'm dreading this.
The group have battled
the wilds of South Africa,
and each other, for 18 days.
They started with 300 grand in
a shared prize pot
and have struggled against
temptations to take home the
maximum cash.
But before they find out how much
they've won,
I'm here to deliver one
last surprise.
Look what's in his hands.
Oh, no. It's a temptation.
What?
Oh, I'm dreading this.
Oh, my word! How's it been?
Awful.
We can't describe it.
Well, you've made it.
Yeah.
We're here now. The money is
waiting for you, OK?
It's at the top of that mountain.
But one final temptation stands in
their way.
A short cut to the finish line
driven by yours truly,
for a cost of £500 per person,
or resist and save your own cash.
Trust me, this is a tough trek.
None of you know how much is left in
your individual prize pots.
I'll reveal everything at
the finish line.
Have a chat amongst yourselves.
Either way, I'll see you up there.
Who's trekking? Yous?
I'm trekking. I walked in,
I'll walk out.
How shocking.
I don't know.
Nana, I think you might wanna do it.
Do you know what?
If Dee goes in the car, I'll go in.
I've given in to every other
temptation, so...
Yeah!
I'm going. Who else is going?
Me. Me. Me.
I'm going.
Are you?
You really gotta ask?
I'll take the trek.
Wolf Pack! Aroo!
Seven of the group have decided
against the final trek
and have spent 3,500 between them on
the short cut.
The other five have saved their
money, so will do the trek.
They're better than us.
If Luke and Tahira make it to the
finish line,
they will be the only ones who
didn't take any temptations.
The hottest, most challenging
day, right?
The fire is high in the sky today.
But you know what?
Everything that has been a challenge
on this trip,
I've taken it as fuel.
Let's get it.
And we've each saved ourselves 500
for this too.
Think about that - 500.
It was definitely important for me
to do this last walk
and be proud of completing the whole
thing without taking
any temptations.
I could have easily taken that
easy journey.
That's the thing with
temptations, though.
Once you take one,
it's very easy to go on this pattern
of taking more and more
because it softens you up.
Oh, my God, I'm so excited.
Get me in the car, Paddy!
Come on, get yourself in.
Let's do it.
Let's go!
When you get back, are you gonna
stay in touch with each other?
How's it gonna work?
I reckon so, yeah.
Some of us will.
Some people don't like each other.
Yeah. No names.
I know we hate this trek,
I know we're feeling tired,
but we need to embrace this
last day.
I think that's where we're going. At
the top of there, buddy, is home.
There it is, the finish line.
Here we go, everybody.
Get yourself a champagne.
Bring it in! Love you all!
To South Africa!
We made it!
And honestly, guys, I don't have
sh*t left.
I know, bruv. I can feel it.
Holy sh*t. Oh.
One last push. This is it, guys.
Oh. We are moments away.
Three weeks of hell.
Especially for the Wolf Pack,
we came in as strangers,
we leave as a family.
That's right.
Wolf Pack!
HOWLING
That's them.
That's them?
I didn't know they actually made
wolf sounds.
Well, OK. It's interesting.
Wolf Pack!
Ah.
You took your bloody time,
didn't you?
I'm just kidding. I'm just kidding.
Well, here we are.
We've made it to the end.
You set off 18 days ago out in
the bush,
trekking on an epic adventure to get
yourself up to 300,000 grand.
As we know, there's been a lot of
temptations along the way and a bit
of money spent.
Argh, the suspense is k*lling me!
So, let's start off with the
group spend.
In total...
..28,000...
Argh!
..700. So, let's get rid of that.
Let's go through what we spent.
500 on a milkshake, Lani.
500?
It wasn't me!
4,500 on a spa.
There was some frivolous spending.
You know, a milkshake,
spas - it's things that
were unnecessary.
But now, at the end, you see the
repercussions of dumb spending.
3,500 on a silent disco.
They pretty much think like I stole
money from them
and it's not the case.
And if anything,
they're taking the biggest
temptation
of all by taking the money at the
end.
This is the real big one -
double beds in the hotel.
£9,000... Oops, sorry, £12,000.
Yeah.
Because of teabag gate.
A f*cking three grand teabag.
Now, some of you were taking
temptations without the
others knowing.
Those were 400 on a hot chocolate.
Oh, Lani! On the sly.
I regret not taking
more temptations.
I just think I should have had more.
800 on evening drinks.
A thousand on two phone calls home.
A thousand? A thousand?
What?
I'm definitely frustrated and
annoyed that the other team did have
an opportunity to let us know and
they denied the spends.
They were being selfish.
A coffee the next morning that
cost 200.
No. I don't know about that one.
They can sulk all they like.
We had those experiences and I had
my cup of coffee.
Then we changed the rules, so that
any money you spent came from your
own share of the prize fund.
Now, Luke, James and Tahira,
you didn't spend anything.
Between the rest of you,
you spent 19k.
Wow.
So, that leaves us with a total of
252 grand.
Now, you've all got different shares
of that.
OK.
The moment has come for everyone
to receive their hard-earned
prize money,
starting with those who spent
the most
and they won the least.
Come on, Dee!
Woohoo!
We've laughed together,
we've cried together,
we've consoled each other.
It's been such a journey of
growth and
development for all of us.
I have no regrets.
I spent money when it was my money,
and I loved every moment of it.
I've got 20 grand.
Lani!
This experiment has been
so worth it,
and I would totally do it again with
the same strategy
cos I've had a fantastic time.
I'm so happy that I took the
temptations that I did because I
learnt to not feel so guilty about
enjoying myself.
Whoa!
I'm certainly not disappointed that
I didn't take home the full amount.
I took temptations that money
can't buy.
I've got experiences I will remember
for the rest of my life.
Oi, oi!
21gs, baby!
Before I didn't feel like I'd won.
Right now, I'm happy and I feel like
I've done something.
Forget the money, forget the
experiment, I feel like I've won.
And finally, those who are taking
home the most money.
Tahira, come on!
It's amazing that I've got that
much.
I was a little bit worried that all
of it would be absorbed by the rest
of the group, but it wasn't.
Luke.
Yes!
James, in you come, pal!
It feels good to be done.
Woo!
There were a couple of surprises at
the end.
It would have been nice to get
a little bit more,
but I'm so thankful to have spent
the time here.
18 days, 12 people,
and one epic journey across
South Africa.
It was a true test of willpower.
It revealed a lot about them and
maybe, all of us.
And with only three grand separating
the fortune seekers,
was it worth resisting temptation
and forfeiting experiences to win
more money?
Life can be really hard,
challenging, mentally,
physically sometimes.
This experiment has certainly been
a challenge.
So, indulging yourself, I think,
is essential.
This experiment has taught me that
you're not going to be everybody's
cup of tea and that's OK.
I am coming out of this a happier,
go-lucky person.
I believe that the experiment is
about finding what humans value
and making memories that
are priceless.
We all go home with basically the
same amount of money,
but some people would have had a
fantastic time
and some people would have had a
sh*t time.
And I think a lot of people in this
group have missed the point of
what's important in life.
I think one of the biggest things
I've learnt is not everyone is
built the same.
And it's OK to be built different,
and through that, I've learnt to
embrace everyone.
Money is such a short thing,
it comes into your life and then
it goes.
Experiences, they make memories.
I value experiences more than money.
So, for me, this experiment has
taught me the value of life.
