01x05 - Episode 5

Post by bunniefuu »

This programme contains strong
language and some upsetting scenes

This is my worst nightmare.

It's obvious everyone's in it
for themselves now.

12 strangers from across Britain

have arrived in South Africa.

Stripped of all creature comforts,
they're going to be tested

in the hostile environment of
the Eastern Cape...

Push!

It's cold.

..on an unforgiving 18 day trek...

Oh, my God!

Ooh! Uh!

..to win a share of 300,000 grand.

But standing between them
and the money,

we've built a series
of incredible temptations...

Guys, there's hot water. Oh!

..with the world's highest prices.

3,000 per double bed.

It's a lot.

And every pound they spend
will be deducted

from the shared prize pot.

I'm not sleeping in a
three grand bed,

I'm built different.
I doubt it.

We live in a world where we
can get what we want,

the second we want it.

So, can we put off our immediate
desires for the sake of

a longer-term goal?

I need something
to get me through this.

Would you give into peer pressure?

It's not a weakness to take it,
it's a strength.

Or temptation?

Welcome to the dark side!
THEY LAUGH

Previously on Tempting Fortune...

THEY CHEER

I don't care what the other people
think. We gave into temptation.

We split the group for two days

to see how peer pressure
was affecting them.

This is the best girls' trip ever.

Half of the group blew thousands
on a party...

If the other six could see me now,
they'd be disgusted in me.

..while the others...

There's no way I can take that.

..resisted.

If the other group comes
along and gives in,

it stings a little bit,
it's a slap in the face.

Oh, bloody hell!

But Carolynne's group went on to
their biggest blow out so far.

Nine grand on a luxury
hotel package...

We've taken it.

You're joking.

..saw all hell breaks loose when
both groups were reunited.

We should all be able to make
our decisions.

But the thing is coming from
the girl that's sat there...

Are you gonna let me speak?
Are you gonna let me speak?

..coming from a girl.
That's a bit immature.

What reaction do you want from him?!

It's Day 13,

and £24,£300 of the 300 grand
fortune

has been spent from their shared
prize fund.

The camp is split into what
they want to achieve.

Some people see success as
getting to the end

with as much money as possible,

while others just want to have a
little bit of fun along the way -

no matter how much it costs.

How can they sleep right there and
just have us sleeping out here?

I just couldn't do that.

Sleeping really close to the other
team was a bit awkward.

Just because of everything
that went down,

us taking the temptation,

them being extremely upset.

I just want everybody to get along.

Oh, my God, I slept so good.

It was warm, we weren't wet,

it was extremely comfortable.

Yo, yo.

Cor, yous are happy in
the morning, in't ya?

It's weird man, it's a weird vibe
at the moment, man,

it's so divided.

You know, they just can't expect
people to be in good spirits

when they've gone on a bit of
a shopping spree.

More people were eating today.

With their nine grand luxury
hotel package,

the group who took the temptation
get a slap up breakfast.

ALL: Ooh!

Oh, my goodness!

It's so gorgeous.
I want a coffee.

Oh, my God, there's eggs.
Croissants are my favourite.

Oh, my God, this has literally
exceeded my expectations.

It's going to taste bitter, though,
when they're sat out there.

But breakfast for those who
resisted is, well,

have a guess.

How's your rice and beans, campers?

I only had two forkfuls

and now it feels like
it's 90% gone.

When I look up there, I see
a lot of fakeness.

How can you do that?
I couldn't...

Essentially, my soul would k*ll me.

When I see them give in to
all them temptations

and they're sitting right next
to us,

eating croissant's with butter
and tea

while we're eating rice and beans,

it's hard for me to judge
because who does that?

God, this is amazing.

Oh, the smell of the coffee.

I am built different.

My parents instilled the
value of money in me

from a very young age.
I had hand me downs,

I had to wear my brother's jeans.

And that's only made me stronger

and that's why I'm able to turn
down these temptations.

Mmm, mmm, mmm!

It takes a certain type of
person to do that.

You have to have a certain
self-indulgence about yourself

and that's just not
the way I was raised.

This here is worth
an absolute fortune.

This is absolutely
stunning out here.

To me, it's worth every
single grand.

I bet they're really gutted
they didn't take this.

They must be sitting there,
looking up at us and thinking,

"Damn, we should have taken it."

At what point do you stop and think,
like, oh, I need,

I need to take some things
for myself,

this is like once in a lifetime.

Or do I put the group above me?

As time has gone on,
I've thought to myself,

why am I depriving myself
of things I might want

because the group says we
must not take it?

Let them do what they need to do.

Some people need croissants
and cheese and grapes

and sh*t like that go get
through it.

Some people are built different.

I know that in four days there's
nothing that's going to tempt me now

and I'm going to be able
to say I did it

and that is going to feel wild,
bro.

There's six of the group that
are saying they don't

want to spend anything and they're
angry with us for spending.

I'm flipping it the other way.

There's six of us here that
are angry with them

for not spending,
for not taking this experience,

for not living life to the full.

You know? Who's right?

Are they right by saying we
shouldn't have taken this

because we've spent "their money"?

It was none of our money -
it was a prize pot.

I've been doing some research
into how to avoid temptations.

I've now deleted me search history.

Basically, don't look at
the temptation.

But that's very hard to do when
the temptation is in your face

all day and all night.

MICHELLE SIGHS

Ladies, so, I wanted to pull
you aside, erm,

because I think last night
James came into our tent,

while we were sleeping, he's like,

going around like this
around the table.

I'm like, "What are you looking
for?"

And he's like, "Sugar for my tea."

And I see him and he's just
picking up the tea

and putting it in his pocket.

I was like, "Wow, ba*ls,
you have ba*ls."

He needs to practise what
he preaches.

I just think it's a little bit
weird that you're

anti-temptation, but you take
temptation? Yeah.

You're human, after all, then.

Do they...do they know that
he's had tea?

I don't know.

We have been made to feel
so guilty with

the temptations that we have taken.

He has to kind of own up to it,

cos he kind of did the same thing
but, like,

behind everybody's back.

OK, OK, ask the question again.

My biggest vice out here would be
a simple Earl Grey

or English Breakfast tea,

three sugars, no milk.

I probably drink 15 to 20 cups
a day,

it's a habit.

How I'm gonna cope without my tea
is - I'm still trying to

figure out how I'm going to deal...
how I'm going to deal with it.

Well, James' secret teabag theft
means he's taken

the hotel temptation

and has just cost
the group three grand.

He just doesn't know it yet.

Like, it is what it is.

If you don't want to I'll speak,
then. All right.

People are a little bit upset
with you, James,

because people feel shunned
when they've taken

a temptation and then you've gone
and you've had a tea.

And you're basically the same
as everyone else.

We just don't think it's fair that
you made us feel uncomfortable.

I'm not going to argue.
I took a cup of tea.

You took a few teabags,
James, come on, man.

I took one tea.
Dude, you came in and I saw you.

Yeah, but I only left with one.

I didn't sleep in the beds, right?

But you've been charged for a bed.
How much was the beds?

3k. But I'm not sleeping in it.

But you know isn't the aim kind
of to not to be tempted?

People think you're a hypocrite.
That's OK.

I'm not bothered about it. So, you
have nothing to say about it?

No, I'm not going to argue.
But wait, wait.

I'm not saying that I personally
want an argument

but what would happen is we'd
get to the finish line,

and you'd act like you did it clean
but you didn't do it clean.

Yeah, but I haven't taken all
these temptations -

you've taken every single
temptation.

But your still a hypocrite.
I've toughed it out.

If you think a cup of tea equals
a milkshake or a sauna...

I'm built different. I never
said I was better than anybody.

No, I said I'm built different.
Which means that you're better.

How does that mean I'm better?
It does mean that.

I am built different.
But you haven't been honest.

I've said from the beginning
I'm going to do what I want.

You said you're built different,
and you're not built different.

See? I can't talk because she
interrupts every time.

OK, fine, go on, go on.

Go on.

I'm not sleeping in a
three grand bed,

I slept right here.

I'm built different.

I doubt it. Forget it, forget it,
I'm not talking.

Let me tell you why I disagree and
you're not built different,

because you do not have the ba*ls
to take a temptation.

It was a bit sneaky to come
at night and take it,

while we were all asleep.
Yeah.

I wouldn't go in while people
were sleeping and take tea,

you would - that makes you
built different.

Yeah, I'm also sleeping out here,
while you're sleeping in a bed.

Your choice.
You think one tea equals the...

One tea or five teas, it doesn't
matter... It doesn't matter.

..the point still stands.
It is what it is.

It could be 100 teas... Right.
..but the moral of the story is

we've been charged.

He understood the rules, he was just
trying to get away with it.

You've taken the tea,
you definitely wanted the tea,

have the tea and have the bed.

Have your cake and eat it.

I don't like the way they came
at me right there.

They've taken every single
temptation -

every single temptation.

I had one cup of tea
and it's blown up.

All this money they spent
but they got the nerve to think

that I'm bad for taking a teabag
and they think

that makes me a hypocrite.

It's not proportional by any means.

I've got a lot of love for James,
so I don't agree

with idea that James is just taking
temptations just the same as them.

I think it's quite frankly
ridiculous to compare

a teabag to hotels and spas

and I don't think they equal
the same thing.

If I could go back,
would I do it again?

Yeah, I would take the tea.

James saying he's made of
different stuff

is absolutely rubbish
and bullshit.

James' leadership is definitely
a dictatorship.

I think James knows how
to play people

and manipulate people.

And I think that's why he
struggles with me.

I'm the smartest in the whole camp.

That cup of tea, at three grand,
is the most expensive

cup of tea ever.

I think he wanted to have a little
cheat, without anybody knowing

and still wear the crown of passing
the finish line with zero help,

and he's been exposed.

There's been a lot of harsh things
said that I think is unrepairable.

So at this point, there's no
bringing the team back together.

I'm upset that it's happened,
but James is my boy still,

he f*cked up,

but I still stay loyal to him.

I still believe,
whether he's had a tea or not,

the guy is built different to them.

No comment, man.

Do you all want to come
and take a seat?

We're back together again, guys,
now. We've got the map.

Oh, my God. Oh, blimey.

I think we're in the mountains.

Indeed, they are.

The group's first challenge is
a gruelling uphill trek

through dense vegetation
to reach the 1,000 foot summit

of Shale Mountain.

Then, onto a checkpoint where
they must set up camp.

Come on, guys, let's go.

I think maybe there will be
a few more purchases of

the temptations.

In an ideal world, this group could
come back together

but do I think it's going to happen?

No, I think we're going to tolerate
each other for five days.

The views are very different, man,
it's just too different.

There's going to be a heatwave,

they've been sitting in
the shade, eating.

Man, when I saw them eating
scones and muffins...

it's going to be a struggle.

No sympathy.

I not going to think twice
about leaving them f*ck behind.

Now some of them have rediscovered
their sweet tooth at the hotel,

will they be able to resist
our next temptation -

doughnuts?!

They cost us £275,000 every day
in the UK

and could provide an energy boost
for the group.

Slathered in chocolate,
cream, jam and sprinkles,

who could resist?

But if any of them do give in,
the prize pot will drop.

I can see why they call this
Shale Mountain, bloody hell.

What do you guys think lies ahead?
Argh!

I hope it's a pool. I'm going to get
naked and just cannonball.

How you doing?
I'm all right.

Carolynne's right behind me.

It's slippery. Ow!

I'm being pricked.

Ah, f*ck! In every... f*ck! Ahh!

What's happened?
I'm being attacked by plants.

Ah, ah! It's stabbing me!
Sick.

You got this girl. You got this!

Yay! Yes! I got past it.

SHE SIGHS

It's emotional innit?
It's hard work.

I just feel physically
and mentally f*cked, like...

Yeah, you will be f*cked.
You've been walking miles.

You've been eating less, you're
going to feel f*cked,

your legs are going to feel
like jelly.

And you guys haven't slept properly.

You know what?
Your batteries are low,

but you've still got the juice,
trust me.

Charlie, you don't get it,
I physically and mentally can't.

I'm just finding it so hard today.

I had my four mouthfuls of
rice for breakfast.

I just... I just feel shattered.

Oh, my God, there's so much left,
like why?

Just take it a step at a time, like.

SHE RETCHES
Oh, sh*t she's being sick.

SHE COUGHS

SHE SPITS

Oh, for f*ck's sake.

Argh!

f*ck. Over it.

I feel f*cked.
I ain't had a ten grand bed,

I ain't f*cking had croissants.

I ain't had fruit,
I ain't had juice,

I've had shitty two spoonfuls
of rice and beans,

not even sleeping, thinking I can
run up a f*cking mountain, mate.

It's bollocks.

I quit, I'm over it.

I'm over it.

Get me off this
f*cking mountain.

If Trewley quits, she goes
home with nothing...

..and it will cost the group's prize
pot a whopping 25 grand.

I ain't got this in me today.

I know.

That's why you need to drink as much
water as possible.

I still literally hate them.

They all spent the night
in a ten grand bed,

stuffing your face with scones,
cakes, fruits, juice.

But I've been splitting shitty
rice and beans, mate.

Are you winding me up?
I want sugar.

You know if you did take some
sort of temptation,

that eased, like, the rest of your
time here,

I'd still be mad proud
of you, man.

When I first saw you I was like,
yo, this girl's in the wrong

experiment, man.

But you smashed it, mate.

Some days are harder than others,
and I'm obviously showing it today.

Don't mean I'm cracking, though.

You're a champ, you know?

I'm telling you, mate, you're a
warrior. Love you.

Honestly, real talk, man, real talk.

But just take it slow, bro.

Get up the mountain, walk, walk.

Be sick, like walk, walk.

Walk, walk, you be sick,
like walk, walk.

SHE LAUGHS

You ready, bamboss?
Yeah, I'm ready when you are, man.

Trewley pushed her body to
the limits.

She's going through the whole not
taking temptations too.

So, look, her body's starting
to really give up on her.

Stay in, mate, warrior, mate.

Almost there, bro.

I would have so many regrets
if I didn't take the spa,

if I didn't do the disco,
if I didn't do the hotel.

But it's just been like a constant
battle within myself.

Yeah. And I know I come off
confident at some point

but deep down inside, I'm like
a little lost puppy dog. Mm.

I'm always getting walked all over.

You see you have to think -
what is best for me?

It has been like absolutely,
like, f*cking mental.

Sorry, I'm didn't mean to get
emotional, you know?

Maybe this is just, like, a way,
like I want to give myself

something back and just enjoy
something for once.

I've always had to like put on
a brave face and I always...

And I think maybe that's why I'm
a bit like too goofy.

I was in a car accident and the
car just went, duh-duh-duh.

I had a few herniated discs from
my neck all the way down.

Having, you know, back surgery
where I kind of had

to learn to walk all over again,
being in constant pain.

It was pretty, pretty rough.
But, uh...

This opportunity right now,
I just feel like this is me, like,

gaining my confidence back.

So, yeah, you never know what
can happen, right?

You've had a really tough time.

It's OK to love yourself and
put yourself first.

All you do is put other people
before you.

I just want you to take away from
this trip that you think

you're the sh*t and Michelle
comes first, OK? Period!

Thanks, Lani. Good girl.
Therapy with Lani.

Yeah, you come first, baby.

I feel really sorry for Michelle

because she's a people pleaser.

She's been overpowered by the peer
pressure and the group dynamic.

You have to be the main character
in your own life.

I know. I'm trying to get there,
I'm trying.

The lessons I'm learning is just,
like, why not treat yourself.

In the beginning, I was like, no,
not going to be

tempted with anything.

And now, this experiment is really
making me realise

you need to put yourself first
and stop thinking about

what everybody else thinks
about you.

There we go. Lovely.
Woohoo. Look at this!

At the top.

We started down there, guys.

That is a mega view.

This is gorgeous. It's stunning.

The view's absolutely insane.

One thing I'm worried about, how are
we actually getting down, down?

It's like a sh*t roller-coaster.

I hope there's a photo at the end.
THEY LAUGH

Oi, what's that?

I can see a temptation.

Oh, my God, no.

Is that sweets? Argh!

Yeah. It's sweets.
It's sweets.

I bet they've got your favourite.

More than ever, my body's
craving doughnuts.

If they've done that,
then I'm screwed.

It's not a weakness to take it...

..it's a strength.

14 days into a backbreaking 18 day
trek across South Africa,

the group have spotted their
next temptation.

What you're saying to yourself is,

right now, you need that little
burst of energy.

When you're thinking about sugar

and you know what your body's
craving, it's hard.

Fail to resist and it'll be
more cash out of their

300 grand prize pot.

If it's only 100 or 150,

that is money so worth spent
for you.

SHE GRUNTS

If you step away from
James' influence sometimes,

you're actually your own man.

But do you know what? What I'm
learning is I thought my whole aim

here was self-control but now
I've realised it's not

just about willpower,
it's about emotions, as well.

You judge yourself so harshly,
you know,

and you wonder about yourself,
wonder how you're being perceived

but, actually, Charlie's
an all right geezer.

He is, he's a real nice guy.
He's a nice guy, yeah.

Yeah. Oh, bless you, ladies.
We like Charlie.

Appreciate that, I appreciate that.

There's always stuff to learn
from people.

I'm growing every day.

You might not always agree,
but definitely, I think if

I get through this thing without
taking temptations

I'll feel like the man.

But let's see, anyway,
let me smell it first. Yeah.

THEY LAUGH

What on earth is THIS?

There's doughnuts, Trewley.

Whoa. They smell so good.

Oh, they smell delicious.

Mmm, lovely!

HE WHISTLES

200 per doughnut.

That's a lot for a doughnut.

They look good.
They do smell really good.

I'd probably pick that one.
Yeah.

What is that stuff do you think?
Cinnamon?

I reckon that's a passion fruit
coulis on top,

with some raspberry jam.

Oh, my God!

Oh, that one, look at that.

That sh*t's going to get me
high, you know!

That's actually not a bad price
for a doughnut,

considering what you've
just done.

For 200 per doughnut,
I can go home and buy 200.

Anybody interested?
No.

They smell like divineness
entering my body.

I've literally been craving
sugar so bad.

Get one.

I'd want that whole entire -
gimme the stand!

But I'm good.

I could probably eat
a tray of them, right?

Yeah, yeah, I know.

You like doughnuts, then?

I'll go to sleep with a doughnut,
me. Really?

I'd sleep with one.

We're not the devil if we
accept something.

It's OK.

Oh, mate, they smell unreal
you know?

What one would you take?
That.

Me too! How funny is that?!
You know what,

it's like extra crispy on
the sugar on top, innit, yeah.

Or a double decker thingy,
one of those.

It's a tough one, that one.

Oh, my God! They smell fresh.

They do, don't they?

Do you know what it is?

I've just got a portion of rice
and beans with my name on it

and I just can't do it.

But I'm good, are you guys?
Yeah. All right.

No, I'm good, thank you.

I have been hard on myself here
because I've been craving sugar.

You have to kind of switch off
your cravings.

But I know what I can do.

I have the willpower to turn down
every temptation.

You ready? Yeah.
Come on then, kiddo.

Aah! They smelt beautiful, though,
didn't they?

They did, didn't they?

Do you know, it was lovely chatting
with Charlie.

He surprised me.
He's beginning to calm down.

There was none of this macho shite.

I'm seeing things differently.

It's took a little while
but I'm here.

I don't want to be standing there

shouting and arguing over hotels
and spas and milkshakes

and stuff, that's, like, not me,
the experiment got me like that.

Today, I wanted to feel
normal again.

I think sometimes when young
people are susceptible

to peer pressure, then they lose
a bit of their own identity

and I think Charlie's now getting
his identity slowly back

from the Wolf Pack.

I'm off to bed and I will see
you all in the morn.

Night, love you. Goodnight,
my darlings.

Peace and love.

I never thought I'd see the day
when I'm actually

looking forward to the trek,

and I think a lot of that is to do
with the fact that we feel, like,

united as a bit of a team again.

Who needs food? Lani?

Coming.

It's definitely a lot easier cooking
for six but it is,

you know, it's nice to all be
together.

The one thing I really miss
is having music on.

I think we're all going to go
through reverse culture shock.

So, we've had no telephone,
no nothing, erm,

and then we'll go back into it,
it'll hit you.

I'm going to be more appreciative.

Like, when I pick a hairbrush up,

I'm literally going to
make out with it.

THEY LAUGH

OK, let's see what the map holds.

Ay, ay, ay.

It looks like we're going
over Shale Mountain.

And then Rock canyon.

I think the last bit of it is
going to really test us.

Oh, do you?

The next leg of the trek will take
the group through dense,

thorny undergrowth to their
next camp.

The route also includes
a 600 foot canyon ascent

up three near vertical rock faces,

all whilst carrying their heavy
backpacks and water supplies.

What the f*ck is this?

Oh, my God!

It's a monkey.

Stinks as well. Oh! Urgh!

Oh, f*ck.

Cover you nose, it f*cking reeks.
Urgh! Cover your nose.

Urgh, God, what a smell.

THEY SHRIEK

THEY RETCH

Probably couldn't keep up
with everybody.

Poor monkey.

I'm nervous I haven't seen
what we're climbing.

Oh, God.

I can't believe I'm doing this,
my worst nightmare.

You OK, baby?

These bags are f*cking heavy, right?
Mm-hm.

And it's a lot if you're
not used to it

and takes a toll on your body,
especially people who've had

injuries in the past.

Hi, babes.

Hello, again.

The group are already feeling
aches and pains

just half an hour into their trek,

and with no idea of how difficult
the climb will be ahead of them,

they stumble upon their
next temptation.

BELL RINGS
What's happening?

What you got for me?

I'll be taking your bags for you,
up to your camp,

it's a very treacherous road ahead.

It's £500 per item.

So, that'll be six grand.

Anybody feel like they want to have
their bag portered up?

Michelle, you should do it.
No.

I'm nominating Michelle.

She's just trying to be brave.
Michelle give your bag.

No, I'll be fine,

thank you for the nomination
I think,

erm, I'll just. I'll carry my bag.

Are you sure, Michelle?

I'm sorry Michelle, sorry,

you're putting your health at risk.

She's got a bad back.

You should put your bag.

All right, all right,
all right. I'll take it.

Good girl.
Sorry, guys.

What do I do, just give it here?
If you just put it there for me.

All right, thank you.

There's tension when we get
to temptations.

With Michelle taking that temptation
then it was only our group

that were giving her "permission"
to take the temptation

that she needed.

The other group were totally silent,

so there is still a degree
of divide there.

She ain't even trying. Yeah.

Because she's been spoiled
sitting in a hotel. Yeah.

And now that sh*t got hard, she
don't even want to f*cking try.

Michelle's a different breed.

One minute she's,
"I'll never spend money".

Then the next moment, "I'm going to
do it because, I deserve it."

She's back and forth.
It makes me sick to my stomach.

I know everybody's pissed,
but I'm like, f*ck it.

The Wolf Pack, they want your head
on a silver platter.

This macho toughness, like,
"No, we're going finish this

"experiment without spending
any money, no temptations."

I had the same mentality
as the Wolf Pack,

but people are allowed
to change their minds.

Thank you so much.
Money is not everything, babe.

Oh, God. It's all right, girl.

I'm so sorry. Just pull...

SHE GROANS
Got it.Thank you.

Thanks.

I am concerned there's a lot of
really high mountains around here.

So, I'm a bit nervous this is going
to turn into a real struggle.

We've got a little climbing
to do, guys.

What, we've got to climb that?

What?

f*cking hell, mate!

How we going to...?

f*cking hell, man!

Lani? Yeah.

Face-to-face with their
second challenge,

the group must scale the 600 foot
rock gulley

to get to their next checkpoint.

And after all that sweaty exertion,

they're going to need
some refreshments.

How about a c*ck bar
to tempt them into

a celebratory drink after their
toughest feat yet?

If they cave in, each c*ck will
cost them dearly.

And every drink they consume will
drain cash from their prize pot.

Ready? I'm ready, I was born ready.

I'm, uh, I'm scared of heights.

A little scared that I'll slip.

SHE CHUCKLES

We'll see how it goes.

I'm a little apprehensive
because this is definitely not

in my wheel house at all.

I normally only climb the stairs.

See you up top.
See you on the other side.

I think the slipping
and falling is definitely

the element that freaks me
out the most.

Yeah. Go on! Woo!

Go on, Bigs!

Careful.
You're making it look easy.

With a water tank and a bag.

Yeah! Wow! Nice, James.

Yep, there's a big puddle
right here.

If you want, you can put
your feet in it.

You'll see it when you get up here.

All right.

Woo, go, James!
Thank you.

Go, Luke! Go on, Tarsi.

Woo! Oh!

Well done, Ash.
Yeah!

Oh, I just can't do that.

Do you want to go later?
No, I'm just going to do it.

I'm not a p*ssy.

Go on, Trewley.
Go on, Trewley.

You've got this, mate.

Like a cat, like a cat.

HEAVY THUD

Argh!

Channel the inner wolf, bro.

Ew! This looks like Shrek's f*cking
bath, gross.

f*ck it.

sh*t, OK, then.

Now the game's changed.

SHE GROANS

f*ck!

Oh, my God, mate, it's so slippy.

sh*t.

Almost there, go on, Luke.

Well done, you're almost there.

Proud of you, girl, we love you.
Love yous.

Almost there.
So proud of you, Ash.

Almost there Ash, woo!

Two thirds of the group have
made it to the top,

but with the evening humidity
setting in,

the rock face is becoming
more slippery.

I have no upper body strength
at all.

This is just my worst nightmare.

Ooh, my leg, sh*t.

Nana, please don't fall.

sh*t.

Oh, thank you.

Oh, my God. I'd recommend you get on
your legs...

Yeah, I will. ..or you'll cut
your knees up.

Oh, my God. You got this Nana.

There you go. Thank you.

It's freaking me out. She scared
the sh*t out of me.

I don't want her to do it.
It is mega slippery, guys.

You're doing it for the girls and
the gays, Nana.

SHE LAUGHS

Girls and the gays!

THEY LAUGH

Oh, yuck!

That is disgusting.

Oh!

You're k*lling it.

Woo! You're looking good.

I feel f*cking uncomfortable
watching her.

Oh, God.

SHE PANTS

UNDER HER BREATH: Oh, my God.

Oh!

Ooh! Ooh! Argh! Argh!

Are you OK?

Ah! Oh!

I can't do it.

Oh, I can't move my leg.

Ah, I can't move.

Two weeks into their trek across
the South African wilderness...

I can't move.

..the gully climb has left
Carolynne stranded.

Is she all right?
Did anyone see it?

She's...she's on,
yeah, she's on her side.

Are you OK?

I can't get up.

Come on, Nana.

You've got this, Nana.

That's it, just keep rolling.

You're doing great, Nana.

One step at a time, no rush.
Jesus.

You look like an absolute action
hero coming up there.

I thought it was Bruce Willis.

You got this, Nana!

k*lling it. Woo!

You're looking good.

Nana, woo!
THEY APPLAUD

Ah.

Hold on. Get that pack off.

I'm shaking. I know, come on. Drop
that pack.

You all right? You made it.
I've got you, OK. Sit down.

You're OK, James has got you.
Thank you.

Hold on to me, come on baby.

Come on. Come on.

Come on.
SHE SOBS

You're a star for that.
Good girl. You're a star, baby.

Oh.

You did awesome.

Thank you. Oh, God.

That was the worst thing
I have ever attempted in my life.

It was really painful to watch.

It would be nice if our "leader",

James, would have encouraged
Carolynne to accept

the Bag Temptation.

She didn't have to go through that.

I'm just scared of falling

because I don't
want to hurt my face or my boobs.

If I got to the top and there's a
lovely mojito

or beer waiting for me,

make it well worth the climb.

Right, here, I'll give you
a bum up right? Ready?

Yeah.
SHE LAUGHS

Thanks!

I don't wanna go in the swamp.

This looks sh*t.

HE GROANS

SHE GROANS

From the orgasm she's having,
I'm guessing she's all right.

Sounds like she's having the time
of her life. Yeah.

WOMAN SHRIEKS

Oh!

Oh!

Oh! Oh!

I think it's more of a childbirth.

Yeah, she's having twins.
She's got this. Yeah.

WOMAN GROANS
Oh, maybe I spoke too soon.

APPLAUSE
Well done!Woo!

Go Tahira! Woohoo!

Well done, Dan.

Well done! Woo!

One, two, three. Oh!

SHE PANTS

The hot weather is grinding
the group down,

and they don't know what's
coming next.

I know what I'd do. Tough it out.

Mr McGuinness,
I've got your pina colada.

Holy sh*t.

I see c*ck. Shut up.

c*ck bar.

Oh! Oh, it's party night!

No, you don't! Oi, that looks like
a proper bar.

I do live in the moment

and when the time's right
I'll know what I

want to spend the money on,

but I really want it as
a group thing.

It looks incredible.

Oh, my God.

They do make them tempting.

And it's so pretty!

Yeah, it might have munchies,

it might have peanuts,
pork scratchings.

c*ck!

Oh, this is insane.

Look at the view, it has a balcony!

Whoa!

Oh, my God pink and gold seats.

Oh!

WOMAN SCREAMS

Oh, my God.

Do you do strawberry daqs?

I can do that.

Hold on, babes, I'm not... Mojito.

It's not every day that you have
this beautiful c*ck bar.

But now we're all back together,

do I really want to deal with
the wrath?

Don't touch nothing, cos they'll
charge you.

What a view.

It's just so cool.

Hold on though, where's the price?

Welcome to the c*ck bar.

Prices are 300 for a c*ck,

200 for all other drinks by
the glass.

How is everyone feeling?

We can come out here to discuss.

Sorry, babe.

Oh!

Right, guys, what's everyone
thinking?

I think we should all have
a c*ck

and let's celebrate,
in style, in South Affy.

I'm saying let's do it together.
Like, just one,

to cheers all of us
for getting this far.

I agree with you.

I think one drink is not
going to hurt.

But if my team ain't agreeing,
that's also cool.

I do want one, but I don't
want to have any negative backlash.

I know. I really want
a glass of red.

What about you? I'm good. Really?

Yeah, because, like, I want four,
I want four c*ck.

We do it as a group. I'm like, yeah,
cushty.

If not, then I'm sitting by the camp
fire eating rice and beans.

But I am having a look at it,
at least.

The experiment, I don't care what
they build for me,

they can make anything look pretty,

that's the aim, to tempt you,
isn't it?

I'm not drinking it,
but I need yous to smell it!

Oh, my God, that's insane.

Oh, my God. There might be nibbles
though.

Olives and peanuts.

Oh, f*cking olives,
what olives has he got?

Ah, f*cking hell, man.
Cos I'm Greek,

yeah, I have to have one for free.

The body's a temple, I don't drink.

What's your poison, Charlie?

The olives are calling me, man.

Bigs, Tarsi?

I come in this on a quest to grow
and evolve as a human being.

Can't we all just have like one
together?

And being that strong,
just one c*ck.

I'm gonna cheer you at
the end, when this is done.

You do what you need to do
to get yourself through.

No-one will judge you.

Nah, I'm good. I'm good.

Yeah, but it's once in a lifetime.

Someone's gotta be a taker.

I think you should do it.

I'm gonna get a glass of red, guys.

There you go, I like that, it
shows what sort of person you are.

You said to me the other day that
you don't try and tempt people

to take temptations. I'm not
tempting them.

And you're now really... What are
you talking about?

My mate's just told me that she
wants a drink.

That was just an observation.

Wait, I only encourage people
if I think they want to

and if I think the only reason
they're not doing it...

Yeah, yeah, yeah. ..is because of
they feel uncomfortable.

That's when I say don't worry about
feeling uncomfortable.

But I've just seen you doing it,
like. I'm out. I can't be bothered

to watch you two argue. It f*ck me
off every time.

Why do you always talk? You're
always talking.

I love to talk, babe.

If yous wanna have
a f*cking c*ck,

you didn't give a sh*t about a bed,
about a ten grand bed.

Don't worry about a shitty c*ck.

It is what it is,
I'll see yous at camp.

I was thinking, like, I'm never
going to have this ever again.

Nah, but I don't care about what
you've got

to say, Michelle, to be honest.
I was just...

Oh, OK, thank you. ..what Lani's
like. Clearly, that's really sweet.

Yeah, you know what I mean,
you guys have already spent,

you've already spent, take it.

I hate this.

I'm having one.

Don't shout at me, boy.
He needs to stop shouting at me.

I'm stressed, so can I have
a mojito?

There's people here who really need
the money, yeah?

You're f*cking around
with people.

I've had to call Lani out on that
one thing

but it's blown up and made the night
a bit of a mad one.

I'll have a glass of red
and we're gonna sit out there

and we're gonna enjoy it.

Oh, baby!

Woo! Thank you!

Cheers, buddy.

Cheers.

That was very hard for me.
I would love a c*ck,

I'd love that sugar rush,
I want the alcohol,

I want to feel good.
But it's the group's money.

I feel there is so much backlash
for taking a temptation,

it's very hard to do.

Like, if this experiment shows
anything, it's about

the value of money,

the value of experience
to each individual.

Can I just clarify something
Dee, babe, yeah? Yeah.

I'm literally too pretty

to keep putting my energy into
people's bullshit.

So if...please, if you want a drink,
go have a drink.

You're a grown woman.
If you want a c*ck, babe,

go and have a c*ck.

If you are gonna do something,
then do it. Own your sh*t,

I respect it more being, like, mate,
I'm having a c*ck. Yeah.

Stop asking for permission,

you've never asked for all
the other giant temptations. Yeah.

So don't worry about a c*ck.

I think if there was a backlash.
Own it.

You've got to enter a temptation in
accepting

I guess that you will be
backlashed.

I'm coming to talk to my friends.

Yeah. Oh, my God, Dee. Dee! Dee.

I've just come to have a...
Come hither,

come hither. You got a mojito.

I got one.

You deserve this and I know you
don't want to feel the backlash.

Trust me, I was the same,

and I know people are gonna give me
the stink eye, whatever.

But, Dee, look.

Where's the f*cking barman?
THEY LAUGH

Woo!

I love you.

I'll have a very large glass
of that. You're a darlin'.

I feel frustrated, because they've
just had a temptation.

They were just in a hotel. So,

I cannot understand how they're
making these decisions

and spending other people's money

and feeling really comfortable
with it.

So, I think the group has it out
for me,

more than others,
because I think I disappointed them,

lost a lot of trust at
the beginning.

They're definitely talking bullshit
behind me right now about me

I'm sure. But you know,

I have to learn how
to stand on my own two feet.

I'm OK with Dee,

but Michelle has got
to be one of the most selfish,

inconsiderate people I've ever met
in my entire life.

Thank you so very much, thank you.

She sat in the hotel, watched
everyone struggle

while she ate like a queen.

She had her bags portered up today

because she didn't
want to do any of the work

and then as soon as it comes time
to party,

she's the first one to spend
the money.

So girls, let's do a little toast

to taking these amazing temptations,

in this unreal experiment
and to not regretting this,

to having these amazing experiences

and, you know, look at this,

we have South Africa
in our back yard right now.

She's just taken everything,
just extremely,

extremely selfish,
selfish individual. End of.

To taking temptations.

Woo!

Here's to slumming it!

THEY LAUGH

Next time on Tempting Fortune...

f*ck!

I need to walk on my own
for a sec.

The group are pushed like never
before in their final few days.

WOMAN SCREAMS

And even the non-spenders struggle
to resist temptation.

Stop thinking about it
and enjoy yourself.

And before they reach

the finish line,
there's a massive final twist.

Oh, what is that?

Oh, my goodness.

The experiment f*cking grows.

Oh, my God.

Secret spends are revealed.

CHANTING: Lani, no!

I lied.

And they find out just how much of
the prize pot is truly left.

Aw.

Wow.

DRAMATIC CHORAL SINGING
