And he said he didn't know.

-And it was traditional.

He doesn't really have much
to say about it, you know?

I want someone to think about that.

Sometimes I did wonder
if it was surface, fun,

carefree love that we had.

Equality, religion, um…

The vaccine, right?

I brought up all these things.

Because I think
they're all important conversations.

Whatever you believe,
at least, like, have the conversation.

There was no, like,
curiosity coming from his side.

I've always just thought I'd wanna
with someone who was more curious,

more curious about my brain
and, like, how I think about things.

People prove who they are, you know?
Like, actions speak louder than words.

You can say anything you want,
but show me.

That would have changed everything
if he really showed priority.

-I thought this was, like, done deal.

I had thought we were on the same page.

But that's the whole thing

As much as we talked about it
and as confident as I was that

we're not gonna break up today,

there was that nerve of just,
like, that could happen.

I kind of gave her
the opportunity to be like,

"I would love to stay together
if you'd let me."

We both align on where we're similar,

but we're not aligned perfectly.

But it wasn't anything that
I didn't think a relationship could work.

But seeing me at the end of the aisle,
knowing that it's the real thing,

she might've been like,
"It's just not the right fit."

If you don't think it's gonna work
at this point, it's not gonna work.

I did my best,
and I was myself the whole time,

so I can't really think
of a certain situation

that I wish I did something differently.

She is a little bit
more emotional than myself,

so I'm sure she is having
a little bit difficult time.

But I think it's natural

to all of a sudden
everything come rushing down on you.

If it didn't happen, the whole thing
wouldn't be important to you.

If we get up there and we both say yes,

it's a beginning
to a next chapter in life, so…

He's very analytical.

Is he good at reassuring you

So it's a little uncomfortable for me

to, like, just really trust in his words,

rather than, like, seeing his emotion.

because then it's sad
if it doesn't happen.

of what you want in life.

Do those things line up with Monica?

Like values? Yes.

Values, where you wanna go,
how you wanna get there.

Yeah. I think our value…
core values, absolutely.

on everyone else all the time.

I was so excited to see you when I saw you

at the tux fitting,
'cause you changed, dude.

You got to care about yourself
and put yourself first

and found someone that appreciates you.

[Paul] I think she's a nice human being.

Somebody who can see you for who you are
and love every portion of that.

When you have that with somebody,
it's undescribable.

It's fantastic.
It's a beautiful thing, honestly.

The biggest reason I fell for Monica
was her personality and energy.

Her spirit, her… her… [laughs]

A lot… It's so many things.
Her ability to nap at any moment.

I think she's
an absolutely incredible person.

I think she shows so much love
and care to her family.

Her parents are incredible,

but her sister was just
not so welcoming of myself.

And whether her sister
is being genuine or not

when we met a second time,

I think that's up for debate,

because ultimately, she said,

"You have my… my, um, blessing,

but basically, not my support."

He's grown on me a little.

I think he's a really great guy.

I think he has good intentions in life.

I still question,
like, if you can read people.

I'm very good at reading people!

[Nicolle] But I think back in high school,

it's like, you brought
some questionable people over.

That was what, like, 15 years ago?

I know. I just

That's a hurdle

It's a life-altering decision.

It is.

It is good to take a moment and pause

and look at what you've learned
through the experience.

Yeah, a lot.

The ability to really open up
and be vulnerable in a relationship

is probably one
of the biggest things I've learned.

To actually share the tough parts
about our past with someone else

is important in a relationship,
but also extremely hard to do.

-The hardest.

The upside to that is that you get into
some depth you wouldn't normally have.

The downside is it kind of
robs you of normalcy.

[Joey] Mm-hmm.

But what really is normal?

In the moment is all you can grab,
and that's all you can really have.

One moment at a time.

[Joey] Yeah.
That's how I've kind of looked at this.

But in the end, whatever way I'm leaning

is gonna be the ultimate decision.

You've had time
to make that decision, you know.

[Joe] See some benefits
that produce your decision.

Boy, there's a lot, Joey.

I mean, the amount of stuff
you're doing in a short time,

you get to see parts of somebody
you wouldn't normally see.

The question of, "Are you ready?"

Yeah, well,
if you're honest, nobody's ready.

Yeah.

You can have a plan,
but even our best-laid plans

don't always produce what you think
or you want.

-That moment is what's important.

Although I am a very analytical person,

I am also a person
that is very in touch with my emotions.

When I get up to the altar,
it's purely in the moment for me.

If I'm feeling that it's right,
it's gonna be a yes.

And after talking to the family,
talking to the friends,

sitting here right now,
it feels very real now.

loving, empathetic person.

I can honestly say I would not have
ever wanted to do this experience

with anyone else.

My friends and family said, "You could
probably have a relationship with a wall."

a tremendously awesome journey.

we've had some tough conversations.

Politics and a prenup
and things like that.

I feel like our journey has been
a lot of highs,

but we've also had a few things
that we needed to work on.

How comfortable are you merging
your guys' financial lives together?

This is a new thing that
we're trying to navigate together.

We talked about having separate accounts
and then having an account together.

And we also entertained
the idea of a prenup.

I think that's kind of just
the modern way of doing things.

What about your family? How do they vote?

Typically, they vote conservative
because they are on the side of

what their teachings are
for their religion.

[Virginia] Mm. That's interesting.

When you're voting and things like that,
do you try to align it to your faith?

Yeah.

I usually vote Democratic.

I can be Christian,
and somebody else can be Christian,

and they have their ideas of what it is

and are very, um, "conservative."

And I have different ideas
of those things.

But I do think
that I make decisions from my faith.

We just kind of spoke on things
and made sure we communicated really well.

You can still make a marriage work
and still have a happy relationship

without completely agree on everything.

I'm just happy that we figured it out

and now we can move on
to focusing on getting married.

It wasn't all just like peaches and roses.

We had to figure out how
it was gonna work, and we made it work,

so that was just one step
in building and growing our relationship.

[Willie] A happy wife
makes a happy marriage.

You have to be happy too.

-[Devin] Yeah.
-And you can ask anybody here.

It's not easy,
'cause you're taking two people

and combining them together to make one.

So you have to work at it.
You have to work to have a good marriage.

Other people looking in might be like,
"That's absolutely nuts."

You guys have known each other
for less than two months.

With this, I feel like I know
so much about Virginia.

At least for me, I can tell
if I'm ready to marry her or not.

-And for me, it's a yes, so…

I've seen you through this process

and seen how much
you have genuinely grown.

I can genuinely see you are ready.

It's been something
I've wanted for a long time too.

for any future at this moment with Monica.

It was never my intention
to go into this to just date.

I think something
